0:00 the cable or something no I I don't think anyone did bump the cable I think
0:04 uh the microphone is set to allow exclusivity mode and then Skype was open
0:11 and I think Skype grabbed the mic like
0:14 in between local recording in between recording the local recording and
0:17 actually going live so I ended up being completely silent okay so what I was
0:22 trying to say that whole time um in a
0:26 very long and roundabout way if it if it helps at all I actually hadn't really
0:29 said anything yet I was mostly just killing time um uh what I was trying to
0:34 say is that our New Year's resolution is to start the show on time and that those
0:39 of you with calendars or fancy phona miggers in your pockets have probably
0:43 realized it is not the new year yet so that's why we are 9 minutes late but in
0:47 that time I have been tooling around with getting the audio
0:51 working um for a while and so um we are
0:58 actually more like 14 minutes late but there's that and and and I was also
1:02 going to address that Focus right on account of Christmas or something wusses
1:07 um has not managed to come by yet this is actually um an audio interface that
1:13 we bought they're going to bring some other gear but they have not managed to
1:16 come out here yet they're going to come in the new year and we are definitely
1:21 going to be upgrading the audio setup to something that is not a USB microphone
1:25 it'll be all XLR and fancy and nice and and all that good stuff um it's really
1:31 it's really funny though we we had a call with them a little while ago and
1:34 they were just like hey um so we
1:37 couldn't help noticing that you know you
1:40 guys are recording in a warehouse and so we were thinking like you know I don't
1:46 know maybe you'd want to put up like some sound deadening so you don't get
1:49 that Echo and I was like yeah you know
1:53 what that's really the least of our problems
1:56 um I mean if we can have audio working at all
2:01 and like a compressor would be great
2:04 then we're going to call that good and
2:07 they're like yeah but like we really think that with these other additional
2:10 things that we're like I'm like H yeah it's a set that we use literally one and
2:16 a half hours a week um so if we're creating a bunch of clutter they're like
2:20 yeah but we think we can make it sound really I'm like you know what let's just
2:24 get it working and then we'll worry about making it sound amazing how about it
2:29 just works first and then we go from there
2:32 um so uh oh hey we have a special guest
2:36 for the W show today hey
2:39 Von can I borrow you for a
2:45 minute oh I just wanted um my three-month-old daughter to make a
2:49 special appearance on Wow today is she able to do that she kind of cranky right
2:55 now okay oh and oh boy oh man they get heavy
3:03 fast so this is definitely how to handle
3:07 a baby um when you are streaming live there you
3:13 go so that's my new baby I really don't
3:16 know what she's looking at you can tell that she's my daughter because she is
3:21 wearing her brother's hand-me-downs that is the way that you
3:25 can tell that and
3:28 um hi are you going to smile for us
3:33 hello oh she doesn't want to play the tickle the nose game hey what are you
3:38 even looking at what if I bounce you wow you're
3:43 getting really heavy
3:46 hello okay yep and she was not stoked on
3:50 that guest appearance and we're
3:53 done so uh all right we've got a lot of great topics for you guys today which is
3:58 a total lie uh but we do have a couple of topics so Amazon
4:05 patents reveal I I won't call this a plan but
4:09 they reveal talk I guess of flying
4:13 warehouses that send delivery drones to your door there's a rumor that HTC is
4:20 expected to unveil the Vive 2 at
4:23 ces2 already I just bought a Vive
4:31 um okay and uh Tesla predicts accidents and
4:36 gives warning before it
4:39 happens and in Florida Florida senator
4:43 says we shouldn't need a permit for
4:46 driverless cars so uh there you go let's go ahead
4:53 and roll the intro see if it works is it going to work
5:15 oh there's no uh there's no music yeah well you know what uh freshbooks there
5:20 we go freshbooks.com whenn and there's
5:24 no reason to stay here and stare at the intro because there is no awesome music
5:29 to go with it so this is kind of a you know what here this is a perfect
5:34 opportunity for me to talk about sort of one of the challenges that I think we've
5:38 had with the wow computer so we learned
5:42 recently that the best way to update
5:45 xplit is to fully uninstall it and
5:49 reinstall it I did not know that
5:53 apparently what xsplit does if you just
5:56 install updates on top of updates on top of updates is it only updates certain
6:03 parts of the program so if you've ever had xplit have like the old icon in your
6:10 taskbar but then you launch it and it has the new logo on the splash screen
6:13 but then it has like the older style u
6:18 theme that's why so um I have an issue with xplit
6:24 right now where I can't play Avis and so that's why I can't play our
6:29 normal intros they they play Slowly all of them um but I was even able to play
6:34 back a much higher bit rate file which is our old old intro but one that
6:38 doesn't have audio and that's how I temporarily got it working but then I
6:42 have never looked at it again and so it's very very temporary and to the army
6:48 of people demanding that we use OBS OBS
6:52 is a steaming pile in a completely different ways so yes I have used obs
6:59 and I have used xsplit and in this case I'm going with the devil that I know if
7:03 anyone has a suggestion that is not OBS
7:07 then I'll be willing to listen to it Su
7:11 yeah but uh all of them thank you thank
7:15 you to all the suggestions for OBS but
7:18 um yeah I'm not pretending that xsplit is perfect I am literally in the middle
7:25 of complaining about it but that doesn't
7:28 mean that obs is great sorry uh all
7:32 right so let's go ahead and jump into
7:35 one of our topics
7:38 here wow I could really use some water but we are so short right now on people
7:44 I don't even know if there's someone that I could cry to to bring me a bottle
7:48 of water at the moment so the original article here is from Tech crunch Amazon
7:55 patents show flying warehouses that send
7:58 delivery drones to your door figure figure three look at figure
8:03 three okay so this
8:07 Warehouse has this blimp or something so
8:11 3 350 okay so blimp 350 goes like here
8:17 or something okay and then blimp
8:21 302 is like bigger than blimp 350 and
8:26 has like a a warehouse on I mean
8:31 Tail Spin anyone like oh thank you Colton like
8:36 Tail Spin right like we're just going to have like floating gas stations and like
8:41 Sky pirates that that's the future Sky
8:44 Pirates busting into Amazon floating
8:49 warehouses and like the air police like
8:52 right now we've got police on foot we've
8:56 got police in cars we've got police in motorcycles police in helicopters in
9:01 Canada we have police on horses and now
9:04 we're going to have police in airplanes it's going to happen I'm
9:09 calling it right now December 30th 2016
9:13 was when lonus predicted airplane police
9:16 which probably already exists just calm down um but anyway so look back going
9:20 back to the uh going back to the screen share here so the idea would be that you
9:25 would have these resupply drones carry
9:29 supplies presumably up to the blimps not
9:32 drones I'm not going to call it a drone sorry I mean it would probably be a drone because it would probably be
9:36 automated but besides the point so you'd have a resupply blimp from the warehouse
9:40 330 to the larger blimp 302 and then you
9:44 would have drones that like carries stuff to the city and then like maybe
9:49 returns would go back to blimp 350 so so
9:53 blimp 350 hold on a second so okay so so
9:56 drones would go from the main Warehouse house to the city and they could also go
10:03 from blimp 350 to the city and then they
10:06 could also go up to 350 and then down from 302 to the city so the idea being
10:11 then I guess that you would never be
10:16 deploying more aircraft than you need to
10:20 get to the Final Destination very very cool I will now
10:26 read the notes um because I basically
10:29 made all that up as I went from one diagram figure
10:34 three blah blah blah blah blah blah blah more detail blah blah blah Warehouse in
10:38 a zeppelin blah blah blah including temperature controlled models ideally
10:41 suited for food delivery that would be freaking awesome like food coming down
10:47 from the sky all my favorite shows Cloudy with a
10:50 Chance to meatballs now um an example cited in the filing is that at a
10:54 sporting event Amazon afc's could be
10:57 loaded above with snacks and souvenirs
11:02 so Amazon would be finding a way to take their 8 to 15% cut I forget exactly what
11:08 it is to get fulfillment by Amazon right now as a thirdparty seller we looked
11:12 into it with our wano hoodies um but they're basically trying to figure out
11:15 how to get their 10 to 15% cut on
11:19 everything amazing uh besides the Airborne
11:23 fulfillment center so those are the afc's and the Affiliated drones the
11:27 company has envisioned larger shuttles that could carry people supplies and
11:31 drones to the afcs or back to the
11:35 ground well that sounds like the kind of future that I would want to be a part of
11:40 as long as we don't run out of helium we'll be okay because they start filling
11:44 those things with hydrogen then it doesn't take uh it doesn't take Linus
11:48 class future telling in order to figure out what's probably going to happen um
11:54 at such time all right let's move on to
11:57 our next topic here what on Earth is Luke doing in the background of the W
12:02 show instead of being here well he's waving to you for one thing and he's
12:06 also finishing up hold on I'm G to move my chair out of the
12:10 way where's oh I'm gonna move myself out
12:13 who locks these chairs who lets Taran sit in these
12:18 chairs okay he swear every time Taran
12:22 sits in a chair he adjusts the seat so it's like a V instead of like being flat
12:27 on the bottom and he locks the Tilt I
12:31 hate
12:34 him okay well it wasn't him this time
12:37 actually but anyway that's what get out of here it's so easy to fix one lever
12:42 you're not even in the frame which is perfect wow now I'm in the frame now I'm
12:46 in the frame terrible can they see it so anyway
12:51 that's Luke oh whoa whoa what's that is
12:54 that zero gravity not really but they call it that
12:58 not really but they call it that perfect sounds like marketing okay so Luke's
13:03 working on the surface studio video which will be up at some point I
13:07 actually have no idea when I haven't looked at the video
13:11 tracker I've been busy trying to throw together all of my content for the
13:15 leadup to CES so as of next week um
13:19 pretty much the whole company is going to actually not even pretty much the
13:23 whole company there's so many people now a big chunk of the company is going to
13:26 be out of town at the consumer electonic show which I've been informed it is no
13:30 longer called it is called International CES okay sure I mean never mind that CES
13:37 did at least at some point stand for Consumer Electronics Show never mind
13:41 that it is a Consumer Electronics Show International CES so that's where we'll
13:44 be all next week uh the plan is to churn
13:47 out something to the tune of 40 to 50
13:51 videos sponsored by
13:54 dbrand and also some other companies um
13:57 actually I don't even know if the dbrand deal is ined yet so now that I've said
14:00 it he's pretty much stuck right uh anyway sponsored by dbrand we're going
14:04 to be covering what's new in the PC Hardware space as well as consumer
14:07 electronics maybe even some camera crap assuming Brandon can find some we're
14:11 going to put all that together for you and uh you know pump out all those
14:15 videos within a span of about 5 to seven days so stay tuned it's going to be a
14:20 glut of information on all the hot new stuff that's going to be coming for
14:23 about the first half of 2017 look at this glove speaking of CES rumors
14:29 what what is this glove that you're just not going to be getting any love if you
14:33 wear it's like an artist glove so when you're writing on the screen this part
14:37 of your hand is gloved so it like doesn't put your oils and whatnot from
14:41 your hand on the screen and it Glides smoothly
14:47 oh
14:51 oo fancy yeah your falsetto is
14:56 terrible and very alarming oh disturbing
14:59 what's the word I'm looking for unnerving all
15:04 three all right so on the subject of CES
15:08 let's move into our next big topic here HTC expected to unveil HTC Vive 2 at CES
15:17 2017 says
15:21 report and the baby's
15:25 crying sorry we're working on it
15:31 so according to taipe based Central news
15:34 agency the Vive 2 is expected to utilize
15:37 a wireless transmitter to connect with PC systems and to come with two 4K
15:43 displays and a monitor refresh rate of 120 HZ instead of 90 Herz meanwhile HTC
15:51 has also reduced the price of VI devices sold in China by 10% and this is
15:57 apparently to pave the way for the launch of the Vive
16:01 2 so I got to jump in here for a minute
16:05 and uh actually I'm going to ask Luke to jump in here for a minute because we did
16:10 hear about a third-party accessory available for the Vive which if you guys
16:15 recall is 1440p 90 htz so let's go ahead and do
16:21 some basic calculator math here okay I'm
16:24 going to use calculator because every time I try and do math in my head live
16:28 on the W show I screw it up and you guys all make fun of me and it hurts my
16:31 self-esteem very very much so calculator
16:34 math okay
16:38 2560 time
16:41 1440 okay times so that's that's uh
16:47 3686 megapixels per frame
16:52 okay um wait a second that doesn't oh
16:56 bloody hell that doesn't tell me the data rate well whatever times 90
16:59 so every second 331 million megapixels so you're going
17:04 to tell me that we're going to take that
17:08 331 million okay everyone remember 331
17:12 million because I can't okay so
17:15 3840 time 2160 okay time
17:21 120 okay so you're going to tell me with
17:24 a straight face that what was all already from my
17:30 conversations with Luke kind of a janky
17:33 third- party Wireless accessory what was already kind of janky we are going to 3x
17:40 the pixel count which to be clear doesn't necessarily mean a tripling of
17:44 the needed bandwidth but it will definitely be significantly higher very
17:49 very much higher so you're going to you're going to take that and you're
17:54 going to make Wireless part of the outof boox experience I really don't know how
18:00 much stock to put in this rumor so that's what I'll say about that
18:06 I will be thrilled as all Heck if they are actually showing off the Vive 2 but
18:10 given that we don't really have a contact at HTC or valve
18:15 um we haven't gotten any kind of an early heads up nor have we even got a
18:19 meeting booked so uh if they do show it I guess we will just have to um door
18:24 crash and figure out how to how to get a
18:28 video of it all
18:33 right actually you know what I have I have a very interesting straw poll for
18:39 you guys straw pull me I only want to
18:43 hear from owners or people who are close
18:48 enough to an owner of an Oculus Rift or
18:51 an HTC Vive okay this is very important
18:55 this a very serious PLL okay so owners
18:58 of I'm going to call them premium VR
19:03 headsets how long since you last used
19:11 it okay so I'm going to put
19:15 uh less than one
19:21 week less than one
19:24 month and um more than one month ago
19:30 okay I want to hear from you guys I'm going to answer the poll but I want to
19:34 hear some results from you guys first who is actually using their VR
19:41 headsets out there so I'm going to go ahead and hit this uh straw poll again
19:44 here and why are you here because twitch chat is incredibly uh upset that we
19:50 haven't confirmed that apparently the news is fake about the Vive 2 so even
19:55 though you were saying that you think it's fake don't believe it they're like
19:59 it's fake and you're stupid for believing it so but I didn't say I
20:04 believed it exactly I said I don't believe it I even did math thanksat
20:08 which is not a strong point for you guys are great anyway PC Gamer released
20:13 something 27 minutes ago that HTC said it was fake so there you go oh 27
20:18 minutes ago well what thanks twitch chat why isn't Colton on this huh thanks
20:22 twitch chat it only happened 27 minutes ago dicks Sal I even used math
20:30 all right use the calculator let's go ahead and have a look let's go ahead and
20:34 have a look at oh oh that's not looking pretty okay so 20% of
20:40 you less than a month ago 38% of you
20:45 have actually used it in the last weeks I spelled that wrong but that's okay I
20:50 don't actually believe that 600 of you have HTC Vibes or Oculus Rifts but you
20:55 know that's a whole other conversation and more more than a month ago say 42%
21:00 of you so I'm actually going to put I'm going to put my vote in
21:07 here of less than one month so it's been
21:10 more than a week but less than a month for me and I'm not counting actually um
21:16 having someone over a little while ago and letting them use it because I
21:20 actually didn't use it no neither I nor
21:23 my son and we're the only two people who use it have used it in the last week and
21:27 it's been almost a month for both of us so as much as I really like it the
21:32 gameplay experiences aren't
21:36 um that amazing yet although Ed has told
21:40 me that there are some pretty good games that I should try out pretty soon um he
21:45 had me play some one with him I forget what it's called it involves magic or
21:49 something and standing on platforms yeah I I forget I don't care what it's called
21:53 he kicked my ass so hard like it was embarrassing I just I like I play I
21:58 played once with them and in my defense I was having some issues like I was I I
22:03 had to play on the rift not the Vive because I was using like a pre-release
22:07 copy that was part of our reviewer kit for the rift um and anyway my my cameras
22:12 weren't really working properly and like half of my screen was like going black a
22:16 lot of the time like every 5 to 10 seconds like in my defense it really
22:20 wasn't working correctly but but like I
22:23 would just like move to a platform and then he'd be launching like
22:28 all these spells and crap at me and then it would cover all my other platforms
22:32 and I couldn't move and then he would just kill me and I was just like this is
22:36 dumb okay it's a cool game just because
22:39 the scale of ability is so because he's played a lot yeah so basically basically
22:45 the moral of the story is that Ed is one
22:48 of those nerds who sits and don't move
22:52 that chair Ed is one of those nerds that sits
22:57 and practices Mario Kart by himself so
23:00 that when all of his friends come over he can be like Oh I'm going to hide
23:04 behind this weak justification that I wanted to unlock all the characters but
23:09 actually all he's done is create an environment where no one else can have
23:13 any fun playing with him because he's just he's just because he's just a
23:18 hopeless nerd who sits and plays by himself because for him gaming is not a
23:23 social experience it's a winning experience yeah gaming is just a winning
23:27 experience it's about humiliation it's not about other people having it
23:33 fun uh on your way back over there do you mind double checking the focus of
23:36 the camera lus I have a question that how I cleverly lured him over here thank
23:40 you Ed lus yes what can I do for you talk louder the microphone is here did
23:44 you get thermals for the Razer Blade Pro late 2016 for the GPU and CPU
23:48 temperatures cuz I don't have a graph for it and John has no data there um
23:52 this has nothing to do with the w show I'm sorry ladies and gentlemen I
23:56 apologize thermals I I don't know are they in the folder John says he doesn't
24:01 have it where would is there a place for it to go well yeah you say it in the
24:04 script what do I say exactly say thermals of GPU and CPU uh and I have
24:10 that information um sorry ladies and gentlemen um so that's a great
24:17 question and I have a really good answer
24:20 for you that is that I will use my razor
24:25 blade late 2016 which I have right in front of me and I will run a stress test
24:29 right now wow on the show on the show that's right folks you are seeing live
24:34 creation you are seeing live create on our live video you are seeing us live
24:39 create a video yes my friends that is
24:43 what is going on this is how janky things get sometimes In This Moment yeah
24:48 while I'm working on it I'm supposed to thanks John while you do that what's the
24:51 next item on the thing so I can talk about it with my Talking Words um I have
24:57 no idea H why you think I would want you
25:01 to cover the next topic oh well because you're busy is why wrecked so hard I'm
25:06 not seeing it w so hard cuz I'm so
25:09 bad oh I found oh yeah I don't think that's it I think that's last week oh
25:14 you should check the date at thep why would last week's be because Luke hasn't
25:18 been on the show yet all right Tesla predicts accidents and gives a warning
25:23 before it happens I saw that video look at this it's really really really cool
25:28 really cool so the original article here
25:31 is from E Technics and you should definitely watch the video here we go
25:37 the new radar technology predicts an accident here we
25:41 go it's 52 seconds long and hopefully I
25:45 don't get a copyright strike for this basically you know get your cursor
25:51 off driving driving oh wow okay see that's
25:55 bad that thing that's going on there wow hit the brakes
25:58 love it beautiful very unexpected thing um
26:04 honestly I wouldn't even have a ton of faith in a an experienced human driver
26:08 to respond that well and that quickly to
26:11 that kind of a hazard now hang on can you pull up the article again because I don't know if that's a prediction cuz
26:16 what I heard was it's actually bouncing the radar underneath the car in front of
26:20 you to see the car in front of that carh
26:24 and that's the one that it saw was hitting the brakes really hard and so
26:27 it's like oh the car in in behind that
26:30 car is not going to be able to break or it will and then the third car is actually going to hit the thing so it it
26:35 didn't predict as much as be able to see
26:39 a car that the human couldn't see yes yes so it's like predicting well that's
26:43 not predicting that's reacting very quickly it's predicting that what the
26:46 human would have been able to see oh
26:49 well will will change in some way that a human wouldn't have been able to know I
26:53 think the word predicting here is a little bit odd I would use fast reaction
26:58 or something anyway very cool predictive reaction whatever TM TM predictive
27:03 reaction TM very cool someone's G to end up using that some car maker is going to
27:08 have predictive reaction technology the names they have for things new RGB right
27:12 the names they have for things it's like I know I know well I mean we at last
27:17 what was it CES like we saw like this whole room full of like car self-driving
27:21 stuff and there was like all these maps and stuff and yeah there was ridiculous
27:25 names y for all these things they had the sensor and they had like rain
27:29 flowing at it to show that it can see through rain you know crazy stuff all
27:34 right so basically this is new radar processing technology that was pushed as
27:38 an update in September under Tesla 8.0
27:41 Elon Musk explained the significance of the technology when it was announced in
27:45 a press statement and this is a quote in fact an additional level of
27:49 sophistication we are confident that we can use the radar to look beyond the car
27:53 in front of you by bouncing the signal off the road and around the car we are
27:56 able to process that Echo by using the unique signature of each
28:00 radar pulse as well as the time of flight of the photon to determine that
28:04 what we are seeing is in fact an echo of the front of the car that's in front of
28:11 you holy actual balls what are you doing are you coming
28:16 back to the show okay bye bye everyone
28:19 it's not really coming back to the show if you were never uh never it but yeah
28:24 so how's the surface uh Studio really mostly cool
28:29 watch the review like what I did there cuz I left
28:33 like a cliffhanger it's not a cliffhanger just not answering a
28:36 question fair you should tell the uh the the
28:41 producers of lost that that's how that works that's how that
28:45 works but just whoa whoa uh that was me
28:50 I kicked a thing and it's okay okay yep
28:53 everything is fine I was moving at the time so I thought it was me I was like
28:56 no I should go get my T too wait we're going to publish our video on like the
29:00 redoing of the W show because there's actually a whole bunch of stuff we're going to redo at once we're going to
29:04 redo the computer we're going to um sort of more formally redo all the capture
29:09 stuff we're going to redo the audio we're going to redo the automated
29:12 lighting and all that crap and just watch the first show after we like
29:16 announce all these big improvements hour and a half late five minutes in I'm
29:20 going to like kick a bucket onto the computer it's going to unplug all the
29:23 cables in the middle like all the audio stuff's just going to
29:28 like slide off the back of the table and smash and
29:31 break yes here one second I want to be your twin nothing can uh wait what I
29:36 have that t too oh okay
29:40 sure yeah the story behind the touque is that it was made by a fan and it matches
29:45 like the LT colors so I think it's super cool and I've been wearing it this
29:49 winter okay so the original article here is from
29:54 PolitiFact Jeff Brands writes oh sorry
29:58 Jeff BRS says unlike
30:02 California we in Florida Welcome
30:06 driverless cars no permit oh you walked
30:09 past that and it uh blew the thing wait
30:13 no what is this I walked around it what is that what is it's a oh that's behind
30:19 you oh I thought it was the the dad that hangs on the thing oh okay anyway um so
30:26 basically yeah here we go Uber hit the road with self-driving cars
30:31 in San Francisco in December but California Regulators quickly hit the
30:36 breaks so in Florida Senator Jeff bran
30:39 saw an opening hey Uber unlike California we in Florida Welcome
30:45 driverless cars no permit required hash open for business and that was a tweet
30:50 on December 22nd so that's interesting that is
30:54 either a very Progressive stance or a
30:57 very Reckless one yeah yeah because not
31:02 all driverless car tech will be built equal no and I personally think that
31:09 some kind of government validation there
31:13 needs to be a car by car what what's the
31:16 one that does drugs EPA no that's environmental
31:20 protect what am I thinking FDA FDA and the FDA is like massively overworked and
31:26 they don't have enough time to look at everything and that's actually like a terrible situation and blah blah blah
31:30 blah blah but we need like a version of that for driverless car tech some type
31:36 of government oversight seems like a good idea everyone's everyone's hating
31:40 on me because you said EPA yeah they're like
31:43 IRS DEA thank you everybody thank you
31:48 government acronym the Gap government acronym
31:55 police they're going to take care of me ttch well twitch chat is the everything
31:59 police yeah so except the twitch chat police they're fine to let that just go
32:03 to hell in a hand basket yeah um speaking of going to hell in a hand
32:08 basket fresh books if you feel like your
32:12 business is going to hell in a hand basket because you just don't have time
32:16 to can I help you or well I was going to say or if you like want to make your
32:21 business around Hell in a hand basket and you want to like sell hand baskets
32:27 for Halloween or or something for like gifts say someone has a birthday on
32:31 Halloween and you want to give them a a themed
32:34 gift maybe you could so one out of every 365 people theoretically has a birthday
32:40 on Halloween yeah which means that uh
32:44 doing some quick calculator math here 7
32:48 billion okay divided by
32:51 365 that gives you a tam so a total addressable Market
32:56 of1 million 178,000 people yeah so of which let's
33:03 say uh one 120th of them or so are in the
33:10 United States and Canada so divided by 20 is that how that works so that's a
33:15 million people okay is okay a million people in the US and Canada
33:20 approximately have a birthday on October 31st and you could let's say you sell
33:25 your gift basket I'd say 19999 sure $29.99 $20 bill yeah sounds good yeah
33:31 okay so let's say 20 okay so I am estimating that your market cap is uh
33:37 wow $19 billion I mean viable business
33:41 yeah viable business based on that math uh you should quit here today yeah
33:45 Hellen handbasket do.com I shouldn't even have to fire you is that a is that
33:49 is that domain taken Hell in a I'm pretty sure that domain is taken let's
33:54 see and uh is there a reason we turned off all the lights that were anything
33:58 else before we sort of need those those are pretty those are pretty
34:03 useful those
34:09 lights um so uh hel a hand basket uh yeah sure
34:15 that's a little better than oh it's taken nothing which of course it's taken
34:19 I thought I'd check okay hel in handbasket doca is not taken so if I
34:24 make just a Canadian company then it's only 10 bucks you thought we don't pay
34:30 you to think oh well it's because we don't pay him
34:33 not because he doesn't think
34:38 well anyway uh fresh books so fresh
34:43 books allows you to take your small
34:46 business idea good or terrible and manage your accounting in a
34:52 more organized way so that the thing that holds back your business will your
34:58 idea not your accounting
35:01 solution so whether you're running a dance studio out of your garage or doing
35:05 smalltime PC repair or you know running
35:09 a plumbing company or a painting company or whatever the case may be freshbooks
35:14 gives you a ton of flexibility that you otherwise wouldn't have it allows you to
35:17 take deposits through the platform it allows you to log your hours log your
35:21 expenses it allows you to send bills to customers professional invoices in
35:26 seconds and allows you to see when they've gotten them so there's no more
35:30 guessing games oh hey have you paid that bill oh hey I didn't get it oh yeah can
35:34 you send it again none of that and they have their own payment system as well so
35:40 check it out over at freshbooks.com and
35:43 claim your free trial today I prevented Taran from breaking your chair by the
35:47 way no I'm trying to figure out why my base is so much higher than yours cuz
35:50 it's a completely different chair ah okay cool it's a bigger chair for bigger
35:54 Bloks
35:58 that makes sense yep I liked my basket
36:01 idea what else are we talking about you liked your basket idea I thought you were just completely joking no yeah I
36:06 was okay good I was joking about liking my basket idea it's a horrible idea
36:11 doing themed holiday baskets okay an
36:14 entirety could be a good idea doing like someone just hell based ones is a
36:20 horrible idea don't do that hell baskets.com you might do okay around
36:24 like the launch of Diablo I whenever that happens and that's it other than
36:28 that you're screwed yeah and based on how often blizzard launches a Diablo
36:33 title it's going to be a feast or famine type of
36:37 business you're doing pretty
36:40 bad is Hell baskets.com
36:43 taken hold on wait for it why is it taking so long wait for it wait for it
36:47 wait for it come on oh my goodness wow your
36:52 search is terrible I Believe In You GoDaddy you can find it okay I don't
36:56 really believe in you but you can probably find it oh man no this is solid
37:01 there's a chance you can find it yeah you know what's really funny is I
37:05 thought uh a little while ago we were looking for domains for our online video
37:10 streaming platform that we're sort of building now because YOLO rip vessel I guess oh you
37:17 have your vessel toque yeah nice yeah I
37:21 couldn't find my orange one you should have told me to bring one to bring mine
37:24 I have mine too oh really I yeah I posted a a picture of it in the chat
37:29 yeah I still have my vessel shirt and my vessel toque cuz they're so much cooler
37:32 now I know right there's so much cooler now it's such a hipster way of thinking
37:37 but it is so true it is um yeah anyway
37:41 what what were we talking about uh right cuz like right because we have to build
37:45 a um we have to build a video streaming platform now so we were looking at
37:49 domains and I thought GoDaddy was throttling us for like searching too
37:52 many too quickly like I thought they thought we were a bot or something no
37:56 way oh my God hell baskets is
37:59 available right now hell baskets.com I'm
38:03 buying it I'm buying hell baskets.com right now because it's
38:09 amazing who would not want hell
38:12 baskets.com I'm going to verify that he actually goes through with it cuz he
38:17 obviously can't show the like checkout process because it would show all the
38:20 things that are important to I am I am I am buying hell baskets.com so hard right
38:26 now some someone's G to maybe try to snipe
38:30 it before you they can try and snipe but I am I am armed he's on it right now I
38:35 am armed with uh oh oh no my two Factor
38:40 my two Factor still slow me down the
38:43 slowest version of two-or you can it's going to slow it down yeah we can't talk
38:47 about it but our two factor is like dank AF it's secure yeah it's de's
38:54 secure it's definitely that but it's uh
38:57 oh bloody hell I don't I don't remember can you can you I think that's the wrong
39:01 one isn't it yeah no no this is the right one for that account okay but I
39:05 it's the do you remember it I think so oops no no it's very laggy oh there's
39:10 still a character in uh what did you do oh I don't even
39:14 know what you did but I I am I am two factoring this this batch your two-step
39:20 coat oh two factor is such a pain in the
39:23 pat a good worth it valuable pain in the
39:28 patoo but it is still technically a pain
39:31 in the patoo while he's doing this I'm G to kill time with some uh we have news
39:35 topics self-promotion I'm going to be doing uh a end of the year charity
39:40 stream thing uh my twitch stream has raised alt together through two main
39:45 events and just through doing it through the entire year about
39:50 $16,200 a little bit lower than that it's like 16,1 168 I think um so we're
39:56 doing a stream tonight starting at
39:59 whenever I'm home and ready because I never give a guaranteed time for Wow
40:04 Days um and we're going to shoot for $20,000 it is for extra life which is a
40:10 children's hospital charity kind of thing if you don't know what extra life
40:13 is uh check that out you can go to extra life.com Luke to see my team I don't
40:17 know how I got that URL but I did so
40:21 it's pretty awesome uh but yeah we're going for 20K tonight I'm going to be
40:25 doing I'm going to be doing a 24-hour stream um and doing one game every two
40:32 hours I ended up deciding on 12 games instead of 24 uh and then we have uh
40:38 we're giving away like a huge amount of games I think Trey is coming up with
40:41 like 150 games that he's giving away during the stream so no someone got it
40:46 no way someone took it the the basket contains domains that
40:54 are unavailable those domains have been
40:57 removed you bastard who got it you
41:00 bastard I was buying hell baskets.com
41:04 you're terrible who got it I want to know who got it so excited they're bad
41:09 they're a bad person who doesn't use two Factor apparently or at least not the
41:13 slowest two factor in the world someone named Bad Karma claimed to have got it
41:18 yeah but it's twitch chat so like yeah that's a good Bad Karma twitch commenter
41:23 could be any someone post proof that you got it
41:27 yeah I want to see proof or I don't buy it I don't buy it hell bask tweet it to
41:32 me because the twitch chat is going far too fast you you can tweet it to the
41:36 official lus Tech dips account anyway what was the story right I was just I
41:41 was I thought that they were throttling but maybe they're just slow that was
41:45 that was the whole story that was the point of the story and then I wanted hell baskets.com and I couldn't even I
41:49 couldn't even manage that today what a crap day um should we I'm so amazed
41:57 someone got that I'm kind of sad because that's
42:01 actually a really cool domain I'm amazed that it wasn't
42:04 taken hell baskets like it just well it's a cool sounding domain but it's
42:09 like I don't know what the hell you'd put on there yeah no clue nothing but
42:14 whatever people are spamming guazo
42:17 links um all right our next article is
42:22 from what's up yeah there it is there it
42:25 is who's it from who got it not sure cuz a whole bunch of people are posting the
42:29 link oh great is there already something parked on
42:34 there couldn't be couldn't be up that
42:37 fast it redirects to The
42:42 Forum no
42:48 way that was so fast hell.com no it did
42:52 for me did you put in www
42:59 no just hell baskets.com hell baskets take the www
43:04 yeah well I thought so but what it works
43:07 for me I don't know bro do we have your hold
43:12 on hold on do we have your screen share working right now no I can steal your
43:16 cable yeah steal my cable okay okay here I mean we can't we can't talk about this
43:20 unless we're going to offer proof right yeah here you go cable I'm cabling you
43:25 thank you all right well I'm like I'm still setting it up give me a second you
43:28 got this you got this bro hell baskets.com
43:34 okay terrible we might be ready okay all right hit me domain bar
43:40 oh I'm not signed in good domain bar hell basis.com you can see that yeah do
43:44 it enter loads the for no go to another
43:52 tab enter loads The Forum I'm telling
43:57 you man he directed that fast like
44:00 really fast wow that was legendary all
44:04 right so there you it to you um yeah for
44:08 spending $20 on a very strange domain
44:12 that now
44:16 rcts oh I love that okay so good we have
44:19 a very funny Community sometimes
44:24 yeah it's like the kind of stuff that they think is funny it's like I'm going
44:29 to buy a domain jokes on you it's going to drive extra traffic to
44:34 you oh man I love you guys okay epic
44:39 speaking of Love
44:43 AMD oh my there may be something to love
44:47 yeah about AMD ryen is it ryen or risen
44:51 ryen ryzen they say ryzen in their presentation so I'm going with ryen okay
44:56 ryzen yeah video this is from digitaltrends.com oh wait what oh it's
45:01 so it shows kind of a oh yep sorry it
45:05 shows kind of a code name uh when you look at it in like the Benchmark it says
45:09 AMD 2D 3151 A2 m88 e but like and that's not
45:16 here anywhere if it's performing that well then whatever no worries apparently
45:21 it has 168.75
45:27 Core i5 6600k ah so that would put it like well
45:33 above a 6700k apparently only the 6900k is shown
45:38 performing out uh outperforming the ryzen chip so the
45:41 6900k is an eight core no six core can't
45:46 remember it's eight I'm just I think it's eight I'm just terrible at all this
45:50 stuff pretty see I'm pretty sure it's an eight core yeah it's an eight core right yeah I think so like I'm I'm rather
45:55 certain it's first time so that's a 3.2
45:59 to 3.7 boost with a Max boost of 4 GHz
46:04 140 wat TDP 8 core from Intel that AMD
46:09 ryzen is not able to beat mind you
46:13 that's a $1,000 chip so if AMD were to come in even at like
46:17 $5.99 which would get them a pretty good return on their investment in the
46:21 Silicon um we could be looking at an
46:24 actual race and that's and that's like for the first time in a very long time a
46:29 big TDP benefit too which is not
46:32 something that in uh AMD usually gets
46:36 over M well see I hate it when people do this I hate generalizations you can't
46:41 say AMD usually because you have to
46:44 evaluate product by product because there have been times in the past when
46:50 amds thermal but if more often then
46:53 usually does apply properly okay but that's more like historically than
46:59 usually I think they both work so
47:03 historically AMD has not been known for
47:06 their Superior performance per watt yeah versus Intel yeah
47:11 okay but okay so how do I explain usually
47:16 versus historically I'm sure twitch chat doesn't care um but you know what okay
47:21 fine fine the point is generalizations
47:24 are bad you have to look at every product as an individual product in the
47:29 tech space because it is not as simple as like NVIDIA cards run hot AMD drivers
47:35 are bad Intel chips are overpriced but I
47:38 didn't say that I know but this is a word of warning to everybody these kinds
47:44 of generalizations are what lead to fanboyism because at some point in
47:48 history every single one of those statements I've made has reversed has
47:52 been true or has been not true every single one of them
47:58 I did put a lot of care onto the word usually one other thing do we look better today is that a new lens no it's
48:03 just the lighting is borked did you notice there's no light in front of us
48:06 but we look better depth of fielded than we normally do do we not you look
48:10 sharper I think it's just the the fact that there's Lighting in the background
48:13 so it comes off the back of our heads like this maybe yeah it's like the yeah
48:18 no the lighting is broken yeah anyway so
48:21 so the power consumption tests show this chip pulling 93 watts an AMD claim to 95
48:27 watt TDP at their launch event which are which would be very competitive with the
48:32 140 watt rated TDP of Intel's chip with
48:35 that said Intel's tdps are a big load of
48:39 bollocks because all they do is say okay
48:43 well this is a thermal design envelope like that is the maximum for this entire
48:48 range of CPUs that go all the way from like six
48:52 cores to 10 and they're all 14 don't
48:57 worry about it so we'll see thermals and
49:00 power when we test it in house yeah
49:03 again you have to evaluate chip by chip in those cases not just read off of
49:06 Intel spec sheet cuz everything from the 6800k to the 6950x has 140 watt
49:14 TDP but it's still exciting and this is
49:17 really really exciting and uh so this was actually leaked by a Reddit user
49:22 from a French Hardware magazine meaning that maybe it's not just AMD numbers
49:28 maybe these are third party numbers that are actually being run and maybe there's
49:31 something to this so which hopefully and it it says it in here but hopefully it
49:35 was actually true uh the power consumption test showed the chip itself
49:39 only pulling 93 Watts which is not that bad speaking of
49:44 not that bad if you believe that fake news is a problem which
49:50 um I would hope that most people would
49:53 agree on that it's a problem even if we can't necessarily agree on what the
49:58 correct solution is because I can see a lot of people going well who's the fake
50:02 news police who decides news is fake what's the difference between fake and
50:06 satire that one's confusing CU like what happens to uh the onion can an opinion
50:11 be false like you know if all of a sudden
50:15 you just have to start going you know let's put together an opinion-based you
50:20 know news story in my opinion you know
50:23 Bernie Sanders slept with a donkey
50:27 it's like is that news if it's an opinion would that be allowed to be
50:31 posted as news what if it was on a news site I don't think that's how you'd be
50:35 able to say it but you could but the
50:38 point is like there's a very we can all agree that the lines in the sand are not
50:43 very clear is believing something and having an opinion in something different because I think you'd have to say I
50:47 believe that he did not I have in my opinion he did um I think I think there
50:52 are sort of two sides of a very similar coin um so so in much the same way that
50:57 you would say allegedly if uh hasn't
51:01 been confirmed um yeah so if everything was allegedly you know allegedly this
51:05 happened and it's allegedly Doom yeah who' you hear it from like my neighbor
51:09 news the fastest my neighbor who says whatever I tell him to say allegedly um
51:14 anyway okay so we can't it's not simple
51:18 how to get rid of fake news but I hope we can all agree that non-factual news
51:24 designed to mislead people people is a
51:27 problem that should be addressed so Germany's solution is apparently they're
51:32 considering this just to find the trash out of them is to find Facebook half a
51:38 million dollars per fake news item per
51:42 day that they do not pull it down from the site per day that's awesome that's a
51:49 lot of money like doesn't make sense Facebook can afford
51:53 it um yes I yes soon
51:57 um yeah so good hand gestures I like this do we have any more any more
52:01 details about this so the German government will consider the bill next year and it would allow both official
52:07 and private complainants to flag content
52:10 that is considered fake news God that's going to be a disaster the law would
52:14 also Force social networks to create in-country offices focused on responding
52:19 to takedown demands wow lawmakers believe they
52:25 believe
52:28 in their opinion uh this bill will help tackle the possibility of Russia
52:33 meddling in parliamentary elections scheduled for next year this follows
52:38 allegations that the Kremlin was behind the hacking of the Democratic National
52:42 Committee that led to the leak of thousands of emails by key aids to
52:45 Hillary Clinton
52:52 fascinating I guess moving on yeah I
52:55 guess so thermal take made an AR GB power supply what is this new I don't
52:59 actually think so but I don't really care it's adorable there you go there's
53:04 thetic not new at all on uh like maybe
53:07 this particular power supply is new but
53:11 like it's fully modular low Ripple noise
53:16 smart zero fan 100% Japanese capacitors
53:19 and a 10-year warranty power supplies with 10e warranties man like can you
53:23 imagine using a power supply today that you bought in 2006
53:27 yeah totally I do you do yeah 2006 that was a long time
53:33 ago Dude I think it was about 2006 yeah it's still
53:37 running H all right then yeah you know the mineral rig I still
53:43 use all those components Emma played stardew Valley on
53:48 them literally last night that's about 2006 yeah that's like an HX 520 or
53:53 something like that if I recall correctly still works huh I don't know
53:57 if I would use all of them for that long right but that power spy seems to have
54:01 been rather stable yeah that's the HX it a good power supply
54:04 yeah I wouldn't I wouldn't yeah there's a lot of power spies to be clear that I
54:08 wouldn't use that for that long all right the original article here is on
54:12 the verge and it's exciting what what's the what's antech 1000 watt
54:18 HX no wait what no antech what is it HP
54:23 some uh oh high current h HP yeah yeah
54:28 that one the 1200 watt is still working in my system I thought it died it was
54:34 something else that's not as old that's like 5 years old whereas it your HX is
54:37 like almost 10 years old I think yeah yeah Twitter wants to make tweets
54:43 editable but it's complicated why why is
54:47 it complicated let's find out why it's complicated um so CEO Jack dorsy is
54:53 polling Twitter users on what features they'd like to see from the in
54:58 2017 he believes a form of edit is needed but not for everyone honestly
55:05 here is one objection so so strong argument for allowing tweets to be
55:09 edited I can go against as well I can
55:13 um I can fix the uh sever uh typo in my
55:17 tweet last night yeah where I referred to our server as a sever which it is not
55:22 yeah I do that kind of stuff all the time the counterargument is that you can
55:26 say something start a whole bunch of crap with people responding to you and
55:30 then just change it and be like but like I think the internet has
55:35 figured that out at this point have they have they really cuz right now TT just
55:40 show edit history well right now Twitter serves oh okay so showing edit history
55:44 but if they show edit history like what other platform works like that like our
55:48 Forum doesn't show an edit history you can see that it was edited Moder
55:52 moderators yes you can see that it is edited and you cannot remove the flag
55:55 that it was was edited mhm so
56:00 like I think that would just like if people start freaking out people can
56:03 just point out like yeah it was edited so whatever and then just if you're
56:07 tweeting something super important don't edit it post it and then if it's that
56:13 terrible delete it repost it again because that's what we have to do right now fair enough okay that makes sense so
56:20 basically there's a series of tweets um so there's one asking whether to fix
56:25 edits quick or edit any time cuz that's something that you could do you could
56:29 allow it to be edited in the first five minutes yeah that would fix the vast
56:33 majority of my problems that I have me too um apparently there's a big
56:39 difference in the implementation because allowing to edit any time requires
56:42 change log um as we're often the public
56:46 record so that's a very good point and that Twitter is often like you look at
56:50 all the factchecking that was done during the uh during the US election for
56:54 example where a candidate um might say something like I never said
56:59 this and then it was as simple as going back and going well your Twitter account
57:04 which you haven't said was hacked at any
57:07 point in time says a completely different thing so and with how big your
57:12 Twitter account and following is and all that kind of stuff I'm pretty sure you'd respond real fast if it got hacked yeah
57:17 so yeah not that that seemed to matter to
57:21 most people no okay uh wow that's really boring news
57:27 and that's really boring news we're going to see yes and we're going to see
57:30 yes yeah and I got some videos to shoot before I go to see yes one of them is
57:34 going to be oh this is exciting dongle
57:38 Roundup so many dongles which dongle is
57:41 the best dongle whose dongle will reign supreme can I dongle you later sure
57:48 anytime only if it's the best dongle
57:52 intro do we still not have audio no we don't have audio
57:57 why don't we have audio why is this still a problem can we
58:02 just solve it pretty easy ah sort of yes
58:05 it's complicated it's like uh it's like
58:09 Twitter It's Complicated come check out my charity stream and not wait too long fresh
58:14 books yay yay fresh books oh are we set
58:19 up to do W show like remotely do we have all the files and stuff we should
58:22 probably do that at some point we probably should
