0:00 Welcome to our top five Intel-based computers for Content creators at CES
0:05 2016 first up is the Lenovo ThinkPad P40
0:09 yoga this is designed for serious content creation on the go as it's got a
0:13 Quadro m500m GPU they collaborated with
0:18 waycom on the included pen which can detect
0:22 2,48 separate levels of pressure and it
0:25 features a 1440p IPS display that includes tactile feedback to feel more
0:31 like writing on real paper it comes with a Skylake core i7 and up to 512 gigs of
0:37 SSD storage and is expected to be available in q1 of 2016 for
0:43 $33.99 the MSI Vortex is next have you
0:46 ever found yourself wanting a workstation that looks kind of like a
0:49 Mac Pro and is super powerful like a Mac Pro but isn't a Mac well here it is the
0:55 Windows-based cylinder from MSI it
0:58 features a Skylake core 7 desktop processor two desktop GTX 980s and can
1:05 hold two NVMe m.2 drives now although
1:09 there isn't a xon processor or a Quadro or firepro graphics card that you might
1:14 find in a more traditional content creation workstation it's very powerful
1:18 for the size and from our experience programs like Adobe Creative Cloud make
1:23 more use of Cuda than they necessarily do of the quadro features anyway it's
1:29 got plenty of con connectivity four USB 3.1 two mini DPS two USB 3.1 type c's
1:34 with Thunderbolt and it's very quiet as well with MSI quoting low 30 DB under
1:40 load the high-end version will run about $4,000 though a less extreme
1:45 configuration will go for about half of that it's expected to be available later
1:49 this year our third choice if you were thinking what do you mean no quadros no
1:55 xeons well you'll be happy here are the
1:58 Lenovo p50 and p70 mobile workstations
2:02 if you are looking for the ultimate editing or rendering rig that you can
2:06 take with you these are what you want they've got 4K displays with panone
2:11 color correction as well as Thunderbolt 3 in case you know one 14k screen just
2:17 isn't enough for you and the difference between the p50 and the p70 is the size
2:22 of the screen so you can either get a 15.6 in or a 17in you also get three
2:28 Drive Bays with the p 50 and four with the p70 so you have plenty of room for
2:33 storing video or 3D models the p50 starts at $1,600 and the p70 at 2,000
2:40 these ones are available now next up is
2:44 the HP Elite book folio it looks a heck
2:47 of a lot like a Macbook but I assure you it is a Windows PC and although this is
2:53 not the most powerful thing out there and not strictly speaking a you know
2:57 content creation computer from a video editing perspective it's got a an Intel
3:02 Core M instead of like an i7 it also has
3:06 some nice features for serious users who
3:09 create content let's say for example by writing it or by generating business
3:15 proposals it's got a great sound system that HP says they optimized with bang
3:20 and Olson for those oh so important business Skype calls it's got a 180°
3:25 hinge allowing it to fold flat on a table for collaboration and it also o
3:29 features Thunderbolt 3 so it connect to more displays easily and comes with
3:34 either a 4K or 1080p display option
3:38 they're quoting 10 hours of battery life on the 1080p model without quoting
3:41 anything for the 4K making it great for quote unquote creators who are writing
3:47 on the go it starts at $9.99 and is expected to be available in March our
3:52 final content creator PC the p37x V5 or
3:56 p37 wv5 is actually class ified by its
4:00 manufacturer Gigabyte as a gaming laptop
4:04 but personally I'm seeing the content creator side of this as well depending
4:09 on which of the models you opt for you'll get a 980m or GTX 970m graphics
4:14 card you will get a Core i76700 HQ and
4:18 you will get either a 4K Ultra HD IPS display or a 1080p IPS display but where
4:24 this one gets interesting to the content creators is the performance of the
4:28 aforementioned display they are quoting 100% Adobe RGB coverage making this
4:35 awesome for working with photo or video editing in Adobe it features m.2 PCIe
4:41 SSD storage ddr4 memory USB 3.1 type-c
4:45 and the usual gaming uh Creature
4:49 Comforts like a backlit keyboard and programmable macro Keys also something
4:53 that's just as good for Content creation as it is for gaming just ask Taran who
4:58 keeps multiple keyboards on his desk at
5:02 the office so thank you for checking out our top five Intel-based content
