0:00 welcome to a christmas unboxing hopefully since this is a very simple
0:04 one i can get my little boy to help me with it
0:07 yeah there you go that's some delicious computer memory so
0:11 today we're going to be having a look at the g skill rip jaws z memory so these
0:16 are quad channel kits with a pretty sweet heat spreader good color scheme
0:20 all that good stuff as well as some pretty aggressive specs so the kit i
0:24 have here looks like a dual channel kit because there's only two sticks there
0:28 but what actually happens is when you can i can i borrow this for a sec sir
0:32 can i can i get oh okay okay
0:36 no no okay that's probably sharp i don't know if you want to do that there you go when
0:40 you flip it over you can see there's two more memory sticks at the back now
0:44 these are an 1866 c9 kit 32 gigs so
0:48 that's 48 gig dimms which means that you can actually run them which is crazy
0:53 ddr3 1866 as well 16 gigs 1.5 volt and
0:57 you can run two of these kits although you won't necessarily get those speeds
1:01 so this is one of the faster eight gig dim
1:05 kits out there because generally speaking the more
1:10 the more capacity you add to the kit and particularly the more dims you add to
1:15 the kit the more difficult it is to bin for higher speeds so ultimate quad
1:19 channel memory for Intel x79 systems it should be noted that there's nothing
1:22 that would prevent you from running a quad channel memory kit in dual channel
1:27 on a dual channel board so two sets of dual channel sticks
1:32 on something like a z77 or an AMD board and now i've got
1:36 everyone joining me for this unboxing we're never going to get a chance to
1:39 look at the memory at all it comes with a lifetime warranty from
1:42 g-skill so you can go ahead and check out the heat spreader here they're using a matte black pcb which looks stunning
1:47 as always i love the matte black pcb and
1:50 then in terms of the heat spreader it's sort of pretty standard not too high but
1:55 definitely not low profile either so if you have a really sort of
1:59 low clearance CPU cooler you might have some trouble with it but otherwise it
2:03 should be fine and i think that pretty much covers it they are xmp ready so
2:06 it's just a matter of dialing in the xmp profile if you want to get them running
2:09 at the right speed and as you can see the packaging is delicious so merry
2:15 christmas and all that and thank you for checking out this unboxing of g-skills
2:18 rip jaw z memory that i was joined for by all of my guests here
2:24 with my baby and my rumble cat don't forget to subscribe for unboxings
2:28 reviews and other computer videos
