0:00 this is yet another buy request unboxing this is Patriots sector 7 RAM so it's
0:05 basically just like their Sector 5 RAM except with three modules so seven is
0:11 according to uh Patriot 50% more than
0:14 five I'm not going to begrudge them the name because it's very cool looking RAM
0:18 it sounds cool and I think that's what they were going for Patriots actually uh
0:23 recently celebrated their 25 year anniversary so you can see they've got
0:26 the box marked with that they've actually been in business since
0:30 1985 which is a pretty long time for a computer company and that brings me to
0:35 one of the other things about this memory they call out a lifetime warranty
0:39 lifetime warranty is pretty meaningless
0:42 from a company that you can't rely on to be around anymore so that's one of the
0:46 reasons why I would pick a company like Patriot that's been around for a very
0:50 long time provides a solid warranty because you know that when something
0:55 actually does go wrong well in the event that not when in the event that
1:00 something actually does go wrong the company will probably still exist to
1:04 back you up so we've taken it out of the shrink wrap on the outside you can see
1:09 here they've got a sticker applied this is a PC3 uh
1:14 12,800 uh DDR RAM DDR3 RAM kit so that
1:17 means it runs at 1600 MHz I believe this is the C9 kit although let me have a
1:22 look here at what yeah this is their uh
1:25 99924 kit so that's the latency it runs
1:28 at let's go ahead and get the box opened up
1:32 here so inside we will find a little plastic packet oo I like the way that's arranged
1:38 that looks pretty cool so their sector series of RAM spreaders is actually
1:42 designed around taking the heat away from the memory modules and then taking
1:48 it up to the fins at the top where it can either be cooled by your just your
1:52 system airf flow or you can install a dedicated RAM cooler above it so let's
1:58 have a look they are using a black PCB for these particular memory modules and
2:02 they've got a shiny uh black and blue sticker on the side calling out that it
2:07 is sector 7 here on the side and not all companies do this which is really
2:11 annoying but they've actually got the part number so that makes it easy for
2:14 you to go and reference it later and then they've got the settings for it so
2:18 99924 1.65 Vols I appreciate that
2:22 because I don't always want to go on to the manufacturer website to find out
2:26 what a memory stick runs at if I'm just sort of picking it up and want to just
2:30 dial it in right away so that's uh that's pretty convenient so you can see
2:35 here they've got kind of a a rippled effect in the metal here that they're
2:39 using for the fins on the top so it's going to give you a little bit more surface area a little bit more
2:44 Cooling and yeah it's another RAM unboxing so yes it's just more RAM but
2:50 if you're going for a particular look for your build and I think these are
2:53 going to go really well with the MSI Big Bang X power that I'm going to have on
2:57 my test bench over the next little while then you know you pick something that
3:00 looks great cools well and I mean in the
3:04 case of patriot they offer free tech support lifetime warranty it's pretty
3:08 hard to go wrong thank you for checking out my unboxing of the Patriot sector 7
