0:02 all right we are live and like exactly
0:06 on time if i do read that correctly
0:09 which means that i'm actually assuming possibly almost no
0:13 one's here because we're usually like half an hour late and that's probably
0:17 what people are used to but dennis is with me on the show that's why it's on
0:20 time ah yes dennis is the one that made it beyond
0:24 time that's actually kind of true isn't it yeah because it's been not on time
0:28 for like do you know how long it's been since we're on time okay so i've been working
0:32 for alliance meeting groups since august of 2015.
0:35 august of 2015. august 2015 and i remember the week i got hired as
0:40 the week we did the meetup it has never been on time since then as long as i've
0:44 been here so this is the first time and dennis is here actually we are like
0:48 minutes late no it was exactly it's a minute late now
0:52 oh my gosh okay my my laptop's wrong okay okay okay we are on time by both of
0:57 these computers we're we're fine we're fine okay fine
1:01 cool so do you want to give people like a short thing on like what happened and
1:06 how you're back and stuff so i've been so long
1:10 like even last time something yeah i think i remember exactly four months
1:14 okay when i left i am i had a really good vacation
1:19 good rest yeah and now i'm back and we finally sort everything out and i'm
1:24 working on the my permanent residency
1:27 so hopefully i don't have to worry about
1:30 all the visa stuff anymore and it might take an hour
1:35 six months to process six months yeah so it's always so slow
1:39 in canada everything's so slow but like you're good right yeah i'm good okay
1:43 okay that'll just take six months to feel like super official next time i
1:48 just disappear that just i'm actually like gone gone going back to taiwan okay
1:54 hopefully that doesn't happen that's not going to happen hopefully yes yes but
1:57 for now we do have some pretty interesting topics for you today google
2:01 has an ai that has created its own form
2:04 of encryption and we'll dive more into that a little bit later not too deep
2:08 though just just a little bit and vr mark is now available
2:12 finally you can benchmark vr i haven't tried it myself but theoretically you
2:16 can benchmark vr what else we got okay so same song is not only calling back
2:21 their um their new phone also they're recalling almost 2.8 watchers due to
2:26 impacts in 2.8 million million 2.8 millions yeah yeah so another thing is
2:32 adobe publishing panel in premiere pro they have a new feature you can publish
2:37 uh videos directly on social media oh kind of cool that is kind of cool
2:43 all right so let's roll the intro hopefully this works
2:47 hey
3:13 squarespace and also freshbooks i'm
3:17 gonna put this back up there really quick
3:20 okay so here we are i love yeah every time i have to do something for dollar
3:24 shave club it's always like oh yeah i've been working on this crazy new platform
3:28 thing all week and i haven't shaved so i look terrible
3:33 one of these times i'll just like shave on the show it's a terrible idea i should literally
3:36 never do that okay first topic that we have
3:40 um other than the fact that dennis is just here at all
3:43 is google's ai thing yeah so let me see if my screen share will work i believe
3:47 it will wow that is in the worst part oh my god
3:51 my laptop's so big i have to your laptop is
3:54 ginormous okay
3:57 you're sitting above it but then now both of our heads are being chopped off
4:00 okay pella i thought you framed the camera
4:05 oh well good good good it's fine my head's still getting chopped up it's all
4:09 good though anyways uh google's brain
4:13 thing i believe it's called brain right
4:17 now google brain yeah there we go had a
4:20 group of ais trying to communicate with each other so there was two of them
4:25 specifically i think it has alice and bob we're trying to communicate and eve
4:30 three different ais eve was trying to
4:34 eavesdrop on the communication and what alice what alice had to do was figure
4:39 out a way to talk to bob without eve being able to figure out what she was
4:42 saying and alice was actually able to do this
4:46 the messages were sent in zeros and ones
4:51 and by the end of i believe it was 15 000 attempts they were able to make it
4:56 that eve only had about a 50 50
4:59 accuracy on what she was guessing meaning that she's just essentially
5:02 flipping coins it wasn't actually accurate because she's guessing a zero
5:06 or a one so she's at 50 she's failing so i don't know so they
5:10 have their own they can create their own secret between
5:14 the robots two different computers ai yeah
5:18 what do you think about this i think that's kind of scary like
5:22 i feel why why is it scary i feel though all the ai thing they show on the movies
5:27 i feel they're actually happening shouldn't they allow shouldn't they be allowed to have their own privacy their
5:32 artifact no no no no no okay
5:36 they are robots okay we should know
5:39 everything we still need to control them that's you're creepy
5:43 they are robots so you can do but it's an ai it's artificial intelligence man
5:49 it's more than just that no and that's
5:56 i don't know what to say
5:59 that's what if one day they actually have they
6:02 can create everything they can maybe they have their own nation okay
6:07 what about this researchers don't even know what kind of encryption method
6:11 alice devised so they they don't even know if it can
6:15 be useful in any practical applications because they don't even know what it was
6:18 that's the scary part they don't even know that's
6:23 that's horrifying i think if you stand for privacy you should stand for
6:28 end-to-end privacy with no compromises robots need secrets too
6:32 why luke 2016. they have no feeling
6:36 artificial intelligence they might they
6:39 they don't get hurt like i don't i yeah that's i don't like
6:44 ai thing i like to stay simple stay simple okay
6:50 so we so we've got privacy for everyone no compromises luke 2016 and stay simple
6:55 dennis 2016. yeah it's like our political campaign
7:00 stay simple don't worry about it okay
7:04 i don't know that's it's it's interesting seeing the constant
7:08 march of ai has been an interesting thing to follow and watching like uh
7:13 stephen hawkins and why am i pulling blank elon musk bring
7:19 out these crazy talks or papers or whatever on an elon
7:24 musk backing it financially the whole idea of like we need to be careful about
7:28 ai because it's this amazingly powerful thing uh that could be essentially
7:32 doomsday and then watching stuff like this happen which is amazing they've
7:37 done stuff in the past um like teaching their ai system to make art which is
7:43 incredible well i think ai they should just work individually they shouldn't
7:47 talk to each other so you don't really want them to just have
7:52 they do their own work no privacy you want them to have no friends they can't
7:55 have privacy they can have their own privacy by themselves you're like robot hitler
7:59 am i i'm kidding i'm kidding but they yeah
8:03 they should be their own shouldn't talk to each other oh yeah that sounds kind
8:07 of bad but what if it makes them more powerful why if they had lonely
8:12 now i'm winning you all no they do have feelings
8:15 i feel for them okay okay they can maybe they can have
8:20 some robot pets pets robotic pets
8:24 okay that'd be cool um
8:28 what's it gonna say yeah but what if okay so they probably need to talk to each other to a certain degree
8:33 but so that they can be more efficient at what they're doing in terms of work
8:37 communication is yeah they can talk about work not about their
8:42 personal stuff like be perfect but what if okay what no
8:46 what what if you have a factory and you want your workers to be able to
8:50 communicate with each other but you want their communications encrypted so that
8:54 someone else can't figure out what your factory's doing
8:57 well you mean someone else just people out of the work yeah their
9:02 boss should know at least okay yeah that that's that's
9:05 that's then you can teach the robot to communicate the encryption bits to the
9:09 boss
9:12 that's very tough i don't know there's positives and
9:17 negatives to so many things
9:20 so it's like you should you trust human or should you trust the robot
9:26 i would go with humans are sketchy as heck too man
9:31 uh i don't know i don't know these humans have done some pretty terrible
9:35 things anyways i think i think this is just going to get a little bit weird
9:39 moving on we have vr mark which is now available the advanced edition is 20
9:44 bucks with a 25 discount in the first week of release hopefully we're still
9:48 within that and it gets you some more stuff i'm going to jump to pc per here
9:52 he has a really good um write-up on the vr mark stuff i'm
9:57 going to move the camera back to where it normally goes
10:00 so vr mark arrives it's finally freaking
10:04 here i did had to do so many graphics card reviews with like a little copy and
10:08 paste part in my review that's like by the way no vr benchmarks because we
10:13 can't really do that yet very accurately so i don't know i'm happy that it's here
10:17 the vr mark basic edition uh is able to see if your pc can meet the performance
10:22 requirements for the five and oculus rift um
10:26 it's able to test readiness with the orange room benchmark and you can
10:30 explore the orange room in experience mode why is that room so the orange room
10:34 is just like one of the testing environments that they have oh so this
10:38 thing just for you to benchmark your vr oh that's it
10:41 it's to benchmark your computer to see if it's ready yeah
10:45 so like you could run it on this and then see if you could that's cool play a
10:49 vive office because for me i don't if i don't know how you guys benchmark
10:53 stuff if i have this thing to download yeah that is very cool actually you can
10:57 get it on steam too i believe pretty sure it's on steam and then the vr mark
11:01 advanced edition uh will cost twenty dollars it unlocks the blue room which
11:07 is for even more high performance pcs and you can see detailed results of your
11:12 hardware monitoring charts and explore both rooms in experience mode and then
11:16 you can do more tests with more or less demanding custom settings which is cool
11:21 as well so like that would be more helpful for uh me but if you just kind of want to
11:26 see like check or x if your computer is
11:29 ready the basic edition which is free is probably good enough which is cool so
11:34 the orange room benchmark shows an impressive level of detail that
11:39 can be achieved on a pc that meets the recommended hardware requirements for
11:43 the htc vive and oculus rift if your pc passes this test it's ready for the two
11:48 most popular vr systems today one of the problems that i have with vr
11:52 benchmarking is and like it needs to happen
11:57 you need to be able to
12:00 do this because it is such a jump and it is such a unique thing that you're
12:04 trying to do but experiences on each platform are so unique like there's a
12:08 company that's working with nasa that has talked to us who's trying to make
12:13 like a simulation of like moon walks and like space walks and like working on the
12:17 space station and stuff with nasa yeah they're working with rio you can see the
12:21 real space uh well it's like graphical
12:24 yeah so like but that program that they're making
12:28 struggles on like multiple multi or multiple thousand-ish dollar
12:33 graphics cards wow but then
12:36 this thing isn't gonna pass you on that but it'll pass you on most things so
12:40 it's kind of weird because they're like certifying that your computer is fast
12:43 enough to run a display
12:47 plus some other stuff and then assuming performance difficulties of games which
12:51 it will almost always i'm going to say be accurate with but
12:57 maybe not forever and not for technically everything so it's kind of a
13:01 weird space but yeah the blue room uh is
13:05 a more demanding test with a greater level of detail it is the ideal
13:09 benchmark for comparing high-end systems with specs above the recommended
13:13 requirements for htc vive and oculus rift yeah like that's what you're
13:16 testing you're testing recommended uh requirements which is kind of a weird
13:20 terminology but whatever um a pc that passes this test will be
13:24 able to run the latest vr games at the highest settings and may even be vr
13:29 ready for the next generation vr headsets that's pretty cool that's awesome yeah before you buy vr you
13:36 should try this on to benchmark your uh pc yeah well probably especially
13:41 because one version is free right yeah so like it's not really that big of a
13:46 deal if you can just download something for free off of what i believe is steam
13:50 which like most people have anyway yes yeah do you have steam i i i have
13:57 i downloaded last year that's actually i didn't know what steaming you got that
14:00 pretty late in the game i know i did you get that after you started playing
14:04 legends no after i stopped playing asian empire
14:09 so like i thought you've been playing counter-strike for like a while though
14:13 but i was that was like long was all of the league of legends
14:18 within a year no no i have been playing league of
14:22 legends yeah but it's not on steam right so yeah yeah yeah color strike sounds
14:26 it's not steam but before i was playing
14:29 on something else not it's not on steam it's the the older version but i haven't
14:33 played oh okay like so i didn't know what steve was yeah
14:37 yeah yeah okay i got it since you guys told me it was not free
14:41 on steam hold up let me just
14:45 check this real quick vr mark steam is
14:49 it supposed to be free is this yeah
14:53 basic edition basic edition is supposed to be free i'm
14:57 looking into this right now
15:00 is it the vr mark preview mixed overall reviews oh dear
15:06 wow let's read some of those there's only eight and they're mixed so far
15:10 recommended recommended not recommended it launches 3dmark with no options to
15:14 run vr mark tests can't get it to work launches 3dmark but
15:18 no vr launches 3dmark but can't via find vr mark
15:22 oh dear sounds like they got some bugs for them
15:25 but look for the vr mark uh not basic
15:28 edition i guess they're calling it preview um
15:34 link demo please just just google steam
15:37 vr mark and
15:41 you'll find that um anyways moving on to
15:45 today evga i have heard so much about this through
15:50 a bunch of random people but we haven't had any problems with our cards so
15:54 i didn't really have anything to base it off of apparently there have been tons
15:58 of issues with 1080s 1070s and 1060 graphics cards
16:04 tom's hardware germany initially reported an issue with evga's cooling
16:08 system and the site found that the card reached up to 107 degrees celsius or 224
16:14 degrees fahrenheit which is kind of crazy and this happened
16:18 when they put it under a fur mark stress test why is everything causing fire this year
16:24 everything almost seriously okay so for me i don't trust any
16:29 attractive things so when i go to bed i
16:33 unplug my pc my laptop i unplug my laptop i unplug my
16:38 christmas lights i have christmas night well that's cool
16:41 i and i'm done with it i unplug whatever i unplug the boiler what about
16:47 my fridge that's the only thing i can know
16:50 but yeah so i unplug everything mostly
16:54 but i'm everything like because i don't i don't like you don't
16:57 just like turn off a power bar you're unplugging at all because okay when i
17:01 was in the military service i was working at the
17:04 fire agency we are doing uh fire investigation if even if um it's plug-in
17:10 it's not on it still have a chance to get on fire
17:14 so i just for safety i have smoke detector but
17:19 do you have a fire extinguisher yes okay you do have that because a lot
17:23 of people don't but you know when i sleep i can sleep very deep like no one
17:28 can wake me up when you're in bed you're really deep
17:31 yeah okay very very deep yeah so deep when you're in bed
17:35 so yeah so i don't yeah i just unplug stuff but if they
17:39 caught on fire when i'm using it i'm ready to
17:43 like i'm fine i i can i have fire screen nice yeah yeah okay and experience
17:49 experience yeah yeah just
17:52 so much experience anyways uh evga is offering optional thermal pads for those
17:56 who don't feel like just a standard vbios update is sufficient and they can
18:01 ship those out to you and you can replace those i would probably recommend just doing that to be completely honest
18:06 and the company will be honoring warranties as well they have stated and
18:09 replacements and they will replace affected cards
18:13 with new updated ones and there's a chart which i can link
18:18 for people to see if their cards are affected let's see here
18:23 so all these model numbers looks like oh pretty much everything so
18:29 if you have a card with that specific model number id product id kind of deal
18:35 i would contact evga in some way i would maybe get those
18:39 thermal replacement pads or whatever i believe we have a video i don't know
18:42 what it's called or where it is or whatever on like how to do replacement
18:46 thermal pad stuff from like way back in the day um if not i'm sure someone else
18:51 does like jay or something like that jay does a lot of water cooling stuff and i
18:54 believe he has a video on this jay's two cents um i'm pretty sure he has a video
18:59 on the whole evga thing so if you're confused there's multiple ways to follow
19:03 up i'm sorry to hear that there was problems uh
19:07 luckily as far as i can tell i haven't heard anyone saying that evga has been
19:12 trying to screw them over i'm going to say that like with a so far
19:17 thing which is good but if you guys do hear anything please
19:21 tweet me so i can keep track of what's going on i've like i've just been
19:25 hearing that this is a thing i haven't actually talked to anyone specifically
19:30 who's like had it be a problem and then dealt with evga yet so
19:34 i'm just going off of here saying so far the hearsay is that things are fine
19:38 safety first for everything
19:42 yeah yes do you take the battery out of your
19:46 laptop no i i think i should replace my battery
19:50 because it drains so fast oh yeah there might be
19:53 some problem with my battery too but my my laptop is dying so probably
19:58 just let it die and just let it die or just get a new one i needed a pc
20:04 are you going to build like a desktop i want to yeah i need a
20:08 real pc another laptop my mine is like
20:11 three years old what is your use case are you gonna be like rendering videos
20:15 at home and editing videos at home just for fun or
20:18 yeah games
20:21 yeah probably for editing videos
20:25 yeah mostly but this is the same
20:28 if i can edit on my pc i probably can play myself too because i don't play
20:33 yeah no i was just wondering like what you were playing because like if your
20:36 only use case was playing league then it's like pretty easy right like
20:41 you don't need much to do that most probably mostly for video video editing
20:45 so then you need a lot more yeah you need much more powerful computer than
20:49 just one that needs to play league yeah not that big of a deal um
20:53 but yeah that'll be kind of cool are you gonna do a build log
20:56 yeah i talked to lennis oh nice but we will see what's gonna do maybe yeah oh
21:02 dennis build log you gotta mod it you go to taiwan number one like crazy i
21:08 want to make like paint the flag on the side of it i want to do
21:12 um like the the kind of case you made for
21:16 scrapbook or that one the second
21:20 the fire one that one that one yeah that one
21:24 you want to do like a mad max thing just without the fire or
21:27 yeah or something like that because you're like that has butane in it i want
21:32 something really cool i think it's still i want handmade i will i don't i don't
21:36 want to just buy a case okay
21:39 you want to build it from scrap or do you want to mod one
21:43 that's not scratch built that's that's not that started as a
21:48 normal case it starts with something yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
21:52 but so like heavily modified case that's what you want to do that's cool i'm down
21:56 to help like 100 i want to have some
22:01 um different lighting i don't know if i want water cooling but i want some cool
22:06 lighting and i don't know like led strip lights like
22:11 i want to have some theme
22:14 have you seen the movie nerf the their color graphics
22:19 really cool the color tone i like that kind of color on my piece
22:23 i'll be really cool nerf
22:28 like any rf any rv oh an er vrve okay yeah yeah
22:34 sorry that color yes okay so like crazy neon
22:39 yes that's really cool like that that would be pretty awesome
22:47 this gets weird sometimes okay that's not my fault yeah that looks pretty cool
22:50 though i want like that color yeah
22:55 okay like do you want to do like this kind of stuff like crazy neon i don't want pink
23:00 i want blue
23:03 green so like not the nerve thing but the best yeah like that
23:08 but like those blue and green things but i don't want to just use the led stripe
23:12 i want something you want it like painted that way
23:16 yeah okay you could get like uv reactive paint
23:20 and then uv lights yes yes yes everything
23:24 looks like it's kind of glowing that'd be pretty cool i want my pc like glowing
23:28 glowing so you unplug everything and are scared of fire hazards but you want your
23:32 pc to glow that's an awesome combination i'm just
23:36 putting that up there i enjoy that a lot
23:40 so yeah wait vaporwave someone just posted that in the thing vaporwave might
23:44 be an interesting search let's see one sec vaporwave is like a
23:48 music thing i think it's popular with them
23:51 young them young kids oh
23:54 oh yeah like yeah that kind of color tone
23:58 yeah but not the pink so like this
24:06 top left wow
24:10 wow i don't know what i did
24:14 what the heck that yeah that's cool that's cool
24:19 all right that's going to be an interesting computer yeah i want my local on it
24:23 your logo my logo you have a logo what's your logo we'll have to create
24:28 one okay
24:31 i'm excited that sounds really cool okay anyways moving on um from dennis's
24:37 potential awesome custom computer uh google fiber division cuts staff by nine
24:41 percent pauses fiber plans in 11 cities
24:48 really sucks access the alphabet division containing google fiber will
24:52 lay off employees and replace its ceo as it looks for cheaper ways to deliver
24:57 internet service to new cities access ceo's craig barat hopefully i
25:02 said that properly barrett barat barrett made the announcement in a blog post
25:06 saying he would only be staying on as an advisory role mentions that access is
25:11 going to pause operations in 11 cities and the future of access seems to be in
25:15 wireless which is very unfortunate
25:21 access purchased the internet provider web pass in june and it's giving the
25:26 technology uh giving it the technology to begin developing over the air whoa
25:31 okay over-the-air gigabit internet to homes that in theory
25:36 provides the same service that fiber would but without as many deployment
25:39 hurdles
25:44 i don't know we'll see google fiber is only in
25:47 the states yes are they going to be spending
25:51 he spent there i kind of doubt it's
25:55 not beyond the u.s at least for a long time
25:59 as far as i know someone in this chat could be correcting
26:02 me but yeah that's pretty insane over the air i just want to put that out
26:06 there right now that is very very fast wireless
26:10 gigabit wireless is pretty insane that's
26:13 for instance that's the internet connection that we have here in entirety
26:17 oh and they would send that here wirelessly instead of over land lines oh
26:22 should be pretty crazy um
26:26 do what i don't really like about that
26:30 is i there's just
26:33 so consistently problems with wireless technologies yeah the only time that
26:37 i've been like properly impressed with wireless was when i went
26:42 to switzerland and saw that new mouse thing that logitech did um dark wave i
26:47 believe i could totally be getting that wrong but this uh g900 and i i think one more
26:52 mouse now but i don't remember the exact model of it because i hate logitech's model things for their mice 4-0
26:58 something whatever um that's very cool
27:01 but yeah yeah i don't like wireless either i i
27:05 if it's stable to your home yeah if it's stable to your home and then you could
27:10 run your own local wires properly
27:14 that's cool um and it's google so if google's going to
27:18 do it i'm kind of suspecting that it will be stable to your home it just
27:22 makes me worry dark fields cool yeah
27:26 awesome everyone in chat is just spamming your name oh
27:29 someone said dennis for president i think what was it that's just next
27:34 tuesday right it's the 8th so
27:38 yes that's next tuesday
27:42 yeah see i know it are you excited are you scared
27:48 um i don't know i think i'm scared literally no matter what happens
27:54 i just i don't know anyways let's let's move on to other political things uber
27:59 drivers when key employment case against
28:02 uber so this is from the bbc because it
28:05 was very specifically i think in england and wales there's 40 000 uber
28:10 drivers in england and wales and they now have they're now entitled to holiday
28:16 pay rest breaks and the national minimum wage which is
28:21 very different compared to how uber normally uh operates uber said that it's
28:26 going to try to appeal the ruling that states that they acted unlawfully the
28:31 ruling accused uber of uh resorting in
28:35 its documentation to fictions twisted language and even
28:39 new brand new freaking terminology just
28:43 making stuff up um adding the notion that uber in london is a mosaic of 30
28:49 000 small businesses linked by a common platform in our mind is fatally
28:56 ridiculous what is happening at uber is just the
28:59 tip of the iceberg lots of people are now trapped in insecure jobs with low
29:04 pay and no voice at work we need the government to get tough on sham
29:08 self-employment so it was like pretty direct they didn't really leave a
29:13 lot of like legalese style stuff in there they just seem to have attacked
29:18 that quite plainly like uber we don't have wolverine vancouver no and
29:23 i feel uh government need to catch up with the technology nowadays and
29:28 create their they i think they people who work for
29:32 uber or the drivers native they can form a union or something to pursue their
29:37 right yeah and like a lot of people they just did here essentially yeah
29:42 the same in taiwan we have uber but it's
29:46 not legal so there's their work still insecure
29:50 they can get a fine but why don't they just push them to
29:54 legal because i think a lot of taxi drivers they they
29:59 afraid of that effect they're afraid of switching
30:03 because yeah it's possibly screwed but that's
30:07 it's moving on you know so
30:10 catch up with the times yeah i don't know it's it's rather frustrating not
30:13 having uber here like to get a cab from
30:16 the airport to my house it's over a hundred dollars yeah from here from work
30:21 to the airport it's 100 how much like hundred dollars about a hundred bucks
30:25 yeah like wow
30:29 how long was like 40 minutes drive
30:33 100 for 40 minute drive it's pretty intense um and the biggest part for me
30:39 is cabs are just annoying to deal with
30:43 it's so much easier just to call an uber yeah and get everything done i hate
30:47 calling cabs it is so so i used to dislike it but it was like oh
30:52 it's the only option then uber came around and i'm like wow yep screw that
30:56 especially for foreigners like we have communication problems yeah
31:00 and if you call it cap and one time we were going to taiwan for computex i
31:06 called and apparently he
31:10 he was not canadian either he was from somewhere he wasn't from here because he
31:14 has an accent i have an accent too so we couldn't talk to each other and it took
31:18 me like 30 taiwan no here oh okay
31:22 okay so it took me like 30 minutes to try to get
31:26 a cab oh jeez and i was almost late because
31:31 luke couldn't find his passport well oh
31:34 yeah i did find it eventually i did that was
31:39 so scary okay yeah why doesn't Linus uh forgot his passport for the trip
31:44 right now he never told me conveniently he told like everybody else
31:49 um and avon had to rush
31:53 his uh passport out to him
31:56 and i think he said he got it within like probably two minutes of when he
31:59 would have oh we'll have it so like that was uh
32:04 damn that was pretty intense oh my god the chat can see itself on screen
32:09 that's uh oh you know what i'm just gonna leave that there
32:12 that's fine that's fine we'll just let them talk to themselves for a second and
32:16 then i'll take it away because eventually it'll get way too trolly and now that i've said that i'm going to
32:20 move it away that's probably smart um
32:24 yeah was i going to say that's the other really nice thing about
32:28 uber is i can get around taiwan yeah in ubers
32:32 completely fine between google translate and the uber app i can just be like i'm
32:37 going here and then if they have any questions i can be like there also is good
32:41 it's easier for people for business trip they have really see
32:46 business yeah you can get a business account in uber yeah and then it gathers
32:50 all your invoices together and then sends them all at once to whoever does
32:54 your accounting which is absolutely fantastic and then uh you were in boston for pax
32:59 east with me last time boston out of all
33:02 places i've gone to on various trips boston is where cabbies have tried to
33:06 screw me over the most to the point where i map every single ride that i do
33:12 in a cab in google maps while i'm going and i
33:16 know like i i pre-map out the route from the hotel to the convention center and i
33:22 check all the potential different ways with traffic and all this kind of stuff
33:25 to figure out how they could get to different locations and oh my god i get
33:29 if i ever have to take a cab it's like a 75 chance they're gonna try to screw me
33:33 over because i'll say something and they'll be able to tell that i'm
33:36 obviously not from boston and they'll just wreck me it's terrible
33:41 and uber saves that and they've even uber drivers have tried to screw me in
33:46 boston too but you can just check it once you're done
33:49 and just be like uh yeah no that was just press the
33:53 little button and then uber's like yeah okay here's your money back yeah you can
33:56 report i i did report one one time when we were in taiwan like two years
34:01 ago you you guys went to taiwan yeah and i haven't i wasn't working with i'm with
34:06 them yet i took them
34:09 interview process that uber driver was insane remember
34:15 he was like driving so yeah on the highway and we almost got oh my god we
34:20 seriously almost died so i i report that when we got our money back that was nuts
34:26 that was actually nuts yeah that was really freaky yeah okay
34:31 there's there's not that many times that i've been in a cab and i was like i
34:34 might die and that was that was that was a that was one of them
34:38 talking about politics facebook twitter youtube and whatsapp we're all shut down
34:43 in turkey let me jump over to this screen really quick it's white for now
34:49 i don't like this cam position what if we just do it over here where article
34:52 things usually are not oh it's because it covers Linus tabs
34:57 because he doesn't know what he has up on his screen that makes sense mine are
35:01 clean that's fine um yeah so turkey blocks twitter account
35:05 which is official shows what has been blocked you can see twitter.com
35:10 facebook.com youtube.com all taken down
35:13 and then i believe whatsapp is part of facebook so then that would be down
35:17 because of that not so good
35:22 oh no there it is whatsapp also down
35:25 i came man
35:28 can't imagine living without your social media i'm kidding it's way deeper than that
35:32 it's not cool at all i was just making a joke see like people like
35:36 we we we have a youtube channel it's like losing your job
35:40 i literally didn't even think about that yeah wow
35:45 are you losing your job man yeah okay that's really brutal i had never
35:50 even considered that aspect of it my thing was just freedom of speech
35:54 facebook twitter youtube and whatsapp is how a lot of people would communicate
35:58 um potentially rebellious things
36:02 um or things that may be anti-government and that's the only way i really thought
36:06 about it i didn't even think about livelihoods that's its own
36:10 ball of wax how many people are losing their job in turkey if they work they
36:15 have their youtube channel and yeah lots of the communication is
36:20 that's horrible yeah so turkey blocks monitors uh triggy
36:24 blocks monitoring probes have identified throttling at the isp level as the
36:30 source of slowdowns shutdown was first detected by national
36:35 provider ttnet turxcell and other major
36:38 isps smaller providers have not yet been
36:41 affected as of november 4th 2016. vpn
36:45 tunnels have proven to be an effective means of circumvention for users
36:49 determined to work around network throttling as per
36:52 usual that is pretty cool
36:56 okay uh razer mock's apple pro with crude
37:00 humor did you see that that was kind of funny right
37:09 just a giant picture of this very creative i love how tech mike is just
37:13 like this is the person that said it the ceo said this thing
37:18 terrible terrible terrible um yeah razer
37:23 computers s my dp
37:26 is the definition of sexism and tech
37:29 okay well okay so maybe because you think of that way maybe it's something
37:33 else i think what razer said is just
37:37 genuinely razer doesn't want women as customers
37:40 ah
37:44 i don't think that's it honestly i'm not going to call their names out
37:48 specifically at one of them i will ah no
37:51 no i'm not gonna call their names out specifically but two
37:54 uh friends that are in my life that are
37:57 females say s my d
38:01 with those words extended fully more than any guy i know
38:06 because they say it is a joke
38:09 because it's just supposed to be funny like i didn't take this seriously
38:12 you call yourself pro s my d i never said this sd card oh hey like i suppose
38:18 but that's it's less of a joke when you say it than when a girl says it
38:22 because then it's like okay well
38:25 i don't know i don't know yeah i just i think people are taking
38:29 stuff way too seriously and i don't think it's that
38:32 big of a deal it's my d it's not it's not the most pr friendly
38:36 tweet yeah it could have maybe done a little bit better on that aspect but
38:41 like i don't think i don't think it's that bad
38:45 that thing's kind of funny this isn't effing helping you've got a
38:50 role in the gaming market use it to do the right thing not encourage this
38:54 behavior yo i know this is a lot of tweets but i'm
38:58 showing you some of the that happens when women talk about games is
39:01 just for today whoa okay
39:06 oh i don't know
39:09 i'm not gonna get into this way too much i just i think people are maybe reacting
39:13 a little bit it wasn't the greatest thing to do in a pr move
39:18 but yeah yeah
39:21 it was a little intense razor responded via
39:24 twitter we're not looking to offend just proud of our sd card slot which is
39:28 becoming increasingly rare and like yeah
39:32 i mean using one of your laptops right now that doesn't have it
39:36 so oh you're right that's true it is
39:39 becoming increasingly rare also the other laptop that we have that isn't the
39:43 blade stealth also doesn't have it so it is it is becoming very increasingly rare
39:49 even in your own products um but yeah i
39:52 don't know i wonder what twitch chat says let's see let's do a straw poll
39:57 maybe i'm totally off base
40:00 let's draw a pole dot me what do you think
40:04 s mid oh
40:08 i bought a tweet i think like is it horribly offensive
40:11 i think it's okay i think it's pretty creative pretty creative yeah
40:17 i laugh when i saw that did you yeah
40:20 you well i didn't even think that's
40:25 i wouldn't tweet that but i don't think it's that bad
40:30 yeah okay yeah like i probably wouldn't tweet that either like it's a little bit
40:34 too far but like i don't think it's that bad creative um
40:40 oppressive
40:45 oppressive flash mean so the options are going to be creative funny oppressive
40:50 mean or turnip
40:53 turnip just to uh
40:57 make sure that we have all the bases covered and then we will come back to that
41:02 fairly soon can you guys hear the train do you think they can hear the train
41:06 problem i can't hear if i'm here that thing is so annoying when we're trying
41:10 to film the train will go by like right in front of our freaking building then
41:15 we just have to wait until it's gone oh god it's frustrating crackling a bit
41:19 there's not a ton i can do about that sorry mm-hmm um
41:24 yes yes they can hear the train everyone on it very quickly
41:29 very vocally they can definitely for sure hear the train it's fine when we're
41:34 on like the WAN Show and stuff but when we're trying to record like
41:38 i'll be trying to do a review and i'll get into like a really serious part
41:41 where i'm trying to be all like stern and stuff
41:45 like god damn oh man it'll be like one of my
41:49 best takes too and it just completely fails sucks so much
41:54 um what's next
41:57 oh you want to talk about the next battery failure thing
42:00 boosted tail people to stop writing its
42:03 electric skateboard after battery
42:07 mode functions ridiculous so
42:11 okay i feel like 2016 is like the year of product failures okay i talked to nick
42:16 nick light um i say well why is why there's so many things that catch on
42:20 fire their battery what's wrong with their battery he says oh maybe because of the
42:25 people are trying to do waterproof so they keep the heat on in the battery
42:31 itself so the heat doesn't go out so it
42:34 might cause some fire i don't know if it's true yeah um
42:39 i think there's a few things that's probably one of them to be fair i think
42:43 part of it is they're just trying to do more with
42:46 less or they're trying to do more with the same amount that they had before they're trying to draw more from the
42:50 battery they're trying to pack more into a smaller space yeah uh when you try to
42:53 pack more into a smaller space the uh i'm gonna really screw this up
42:57 there's better vid look into like the science of batteries but you start to
43:01 lose the bit that's in the middle and then things transfer them properly and
43:04 you can overload them and there's problems i think also there's been a
43:08 heightened awareness since the note 7 issue and if someone's battery catches
43:13 on fire or some crap like that they're trying they're starting to report it more and so yeah yeah yeah ignore it
43:18 because the note 7 made the whole world way more interested in this stuff which
43:22 is good it's a good thing i'm not complaining about that on two separate occasions a lithium
43:27 battery cell has vented inside the battery pack of the second generation
43:32 boosted board the battery enclosure is a fire retardant composite and worked
43:39 as designed to contain the cell failure so it did a really good job fortunately
43:43 no one was injured and no property was damaged our engineering team is
43:46 conducting a thorough investigation we will in update everyone with the results
43:50 so their fire retardant housing stuff is doing great um but things are still
43:55 catching on fire so they're looking into it they're going to try to solve the problem which is good
43:59 good for boosted board i guess i'm going to look at the
44:04 results kind of as i expected 64 of people said
44:10 that it was creative and funny 30 percent of people said turn up turnip so
44:15 they probably just don't care at all and then six percent
44:19 of people said oppressive mean um
44:24 i don't know i don't think it was a
44:30 i think it's maybe something that like you say amongst yourselves at razer
44:34 maybe not something that you tweet but then razer's always been a little bit
44:37 like like younger and edgier yeah than a lot
44:40 of other brands no not like corporate walk kind of deal
44:45 you know what i mean so i don't know i really don't think it's that bad
44:52 who who who would find this offensive
44:56 female
45:01 i mean potentially yeah
45:04 or or mac uh apple apple yeah i don't like
45:09 i don't know because i don't think it's just i think it's
45:12 interesting to look at it as a just
45:16 anti-female thing i think that's not true
45:19 that way no yeah because that could be said to literally anyone yeah
45:23 just sd card sd card
45:27 so yeah i don't know i don't think it's a big deal i think people are
45:31 overreacting i don't think it was the smartest thing
45:35 to tweet yeah but yeah i don't i don't think it
45:38 was all that big of a deal oh yeah twitch chat's on screen again oh jeez
45:42 there we go no it's not you he's there oh you just want to see it
45:45 yeah yeah yeah yeah um hyper uh h440 hyper beast confirmed
45:50 this thing is cool oh oh yeah i saw that yeah the case yeah that's cool do you
45:54 are you interested in this thing or do you want to mod it i don't want flat i
45:58 want three one four oh three d case
46:03 okay i want like it look like b pop-up
46:06 the color is really cool i like this color and i like the design
46:10 looks really fancy but yeah i want
46:15 i want like not just oh like like the uh
46:18 bomb that bomb case yeah not just like regular case i want to look different
46:23 okay or you can make like a volcano case
46:26 volcano case that's cool that'd be pretty sweet
46:29 yeah so this thing is very cool um
46:33 nzxt logo glows blue on the side you've got the hyper beast art
46:37 on the front and the left hand side and i
46:41 maybe the top i haven't seen a picture of the top yet
46:45 i don't know yeah i don't see a picture of the top the back or like the right
46:50 side i guess you'd say has h440 hyper beast um printed on it and just a big
46:55 clean panel which actually looks pretty good considering the rest of it's all
46:59 inked out yeah looks really cool production there will be
47:02 1337 units which is pretty elite um
47:06 yeah it's cool it's based on the m4a1 s
47:10 cs go weapon skin i think it was made with the yeah brock hoffer the graphic
47:13 artist behind the hyper beast which is very cool he did the m4a1 weapon skin
47:19 featuring the beast yeah 200
47:22 200 bucks based on the h440 which is a wicked case
47:26 nice case looks cool yeah looks really good i like
47:30 this a lot i hope this does well i hope they sell all 1337 of them and then i
47:36 hope people keep on doing this because i think that's very cool if i was
47:40 interested in buying a case like this right now instead of just
47:45 getting like a gray one or something i would definitely get this this thing looks awesome yeah i don't want my case
47:50 just a case i want it also be like in like an art
47:53 yeah display in my house yeah yeah yeah
47:58 yeah so that was that was rather cool uh wii u production is ending this week
48:03 there's not really a ton else to say there
48:07 the gamecube sold 21 million consoles n64 sold 32 million consoles the wii
48:13 sold 101 million consoles and then wii u
48:16 went down to 13.36 million consoles less than the
48:20 gamecube less than the nintendo 64. and then
48:26 not even anywhere close to the original wii there's a number of reasons why that
48:30 happened one of them being literally out of my entire friend group i was the only
48:34 person that knew that the wii u wasn't just an accessory for the original wii
48:40 so their marketing was really bad um and
48:43 the naming was very bad we versus wii u
48:46 like it's not clear it actually does kind of sound like an add-on that's
48:50 another thing that i worry about with the nintendo switch
48:53 it doesn't sound like a console name yeah it sounds like an accessory i never
48:58 try wii so i don't you ever said we or wii u
49:02 none of them okay no sorry
49:05 i'd like that good opponent yeah now okay totally have a topic for you i have
49:10 no idea what the heck is going on adobe publishing panel oh
49:14 so okay let me open it
49:19 so adobe they have a new feature that when you export your video you can
49:26 social publishing to your media uh social media like
49:31 youtube i guess go this is easier you can
49:35 youtube facebook yeah youtube facebook the hands i don't know what that is
49:40 but and you can also hashtag that's cool
49:45 so you can't okay this the picture's too small okay let's go there you go here we
49:49 can uh oh there there there we can look at your screen oh i don't know why you're this zoomed
49:53 in so because this so you can text oh you can text like how
49:58 you do when you upload video on youtube that's how you text yeah yeah yeah so
50:02 you can do title description and
50:06 um choose all the resolution you want to
50:11 export so you go directly to youtube i think
50:15 and i guess i don't know how you link your channel somewhere yeah i think so
50:18 you can choose from the left i don't know if i would trust adobe
50:21 and i mean i'll still do export upload yeah exactly like i would
50:26 do okay i would do twitter i would do instagram i would do stuff like that i
50:31 don't know if i would do youtube because like the
50:34 upload and processing time and stuff takes so long and adobe like the amount of times that we have our media encoder
50:38 and stuff yeah yeah let's get that's one concern because what we do here is we
50:43 export to cinephone transcode and upload
50:47 and if you fail say if there's one error in a video
50:51 and you take like two hours or an hour to the last step you have to redo it
50:55 again so uh it's just it's i don't know um it
51:01 might be a cool feature for some people but for me for us i think we will just
51:06 do what we're doing right now just export myself and upload it yeah but
51:11 it's really cool feature because i've never seen that before they can you can
51:14 do everything just one someone in chat just asked what
51:18 does dennis do i guess it has kind of been months well it's been like four
51:22 months since you've been around so there might be some people that don't actually
51:26 know you that well anymore oh so i
51:30 i've been working here since
51:33 uh 2015. of the summer like four months
51:37 that year yeah yeah yeah yeah like before i start here 2015 summer time
51:43 so i was from taiwan i i i had a tequiki channel i'm a video
51:49 editor and she edits all the videos on techwiki and sometimes i will be on LTT oh not on
51:55 i i shouldn't edit and sometimes for
51:59 super fun Channel Super Fun sometimes i'm here
52:03 very very rare um yeah and
52:06 mostly i do
52:10 look what happened you went to the light oh okay so okay i fixed it
52:15 i'm a video editor here so if you haven't seen me before
52:20 nice to meet you yeah there we go okay um
52:25 so so the samsung kiosks and airports we actually talked about that last week but
52:29 if you bring your note 7 to an airport you will be okay they can exchange your
52:33 phone at a kiosk in the airport you don't actually have to leave it there
52:36 and then boom samsung recalling almost 2.8
52:39 million watchers due to impact entries you had read about this right okay
52:44 so the following report i impact injures that include broken jaw from a washer
52:51 broken jaw yeah and that so that washing
52:54 machine you can see in the thumbnail there i'm not going to play the video because it would suck for everyone um
52:58 but that is torn the hell apart okay you know how
53:02 how strong the washing machine when they spin yeah and testing can shake like
53:07 very very hard yeah because one time um
53:10 like i used to live with a homestay in their washing machine was broken
53:15 and like you just can't stop it and just keep going keep going keep going and you
53:19 don't know like you should unplug it or because it's like moving yeah and when
53:23 you try to hold it it's still like it's holding it's like holding you yeah
53:27 moving you with the washing machine well your weight compared to a washing
53:30 machine is not going to be all that helpful uh they're recalling 2.8 million
53:34 top load washing machines so it's top load washing machines
53:39 and i think it's a 34 affected models so
53:42 if you have a top load samsung washing machine
53:46 check out i think this will hopefully be a list of the models
53:50 let's see
53:53 consumer product safety commission the united states consumer product safety
53:56 commission they have all the models listed right
53:59 here this is going to be annoying to read on stream but if you have a top
54:03 loading samsung dryer washing machine
54:08 washing machine but what you have to do first when you are doing uh your laundry you
54:12 put your all the clothes evenly in the washing machine that's it everyone
54:17 should know because if it's if it's uneven when they spin
54:21 they can be like that dennis washing machine tips yeah that's
54:25 too everyone should know so don't just pull in just you need to
54:29 make a little bit you'll never believe what happens when i add
54:34 and then you just everyone has to click on the video just the greatest click
54:37 bait oh dennis washing machine tips i would watch
54:40 that'll be the best microsoft has lost over 300 million
54:45 browser users in 2016 mostly to chrome
54:48 tracking site shows i'm not super surprised oh microsoft getting wrecked
54:54 again there's satay nadella poor guy
54:58 whoa here we go so this chart right here
55:01 let me see what's up this chart right here shows chrome and explorer firefox
55:05 microsoft edge safari and others so firefox kind of took a dip there for a
55:11 little bit in like the summer which is kind of funny and now that it's out of
55:15 the summer the firefox is uh i don't know why it's coming out of
55:19 hibernation in the winter but it's starting to come back up which is pretty cool internet explorer has just been
55:24 absolutely tanking most people are sitting around like
55:29 five percent firefox that like 10 air
55:32 explorer is plummeting down to about 20
55:35 percent and chrome well they're more dominating
55:39 everything more people using internet explorer than firefox
55:43 yes oh i used to use firefox yeah i switched to
55:49 chrome i love firefox there's just so many problems right now i just uh
55:55 crashes and yeah other terrible terrible things
55:59 we need to do sponsor spots give me a second here
56:06 dollar shave club oh
56:09 every time i do one of these look i get this stupid thing do you see that
56:13 see the little patch right there hair doesn't grow like right there why i
56:18 don't know so like when i don't shave for a while it even just looks really dumb
56:23 you can draw you can use choppy should i just sharpen my beard just kind of color
56:28 it wonderful idea i'm going to sharpen my beard in or i could just join well i
56:32 guess i'm actually a part of those shady club but i could get my razors to my
56:37 door and i could order if i ordered now i get a month for free but i'm already members so i don't really get that but
56:41 if you join today you will get your first month free dollar shave club and
56:44 once you try dollarshaveclub.com you'll be a proud member like millions of
56:48 others they deliver amazing razors directly to your door and membership
56:51 means that you can get a fresh blade all the time instead of like when i was
56:56 going to bcit and i used the same one-use razor
57:00 for i think it was like two years uh that thing was like literally rusty
57:05 disgusting it was it was yeah it was pretty gross uh you can use it with dr
57:08 carver's shave butter which is actually kind of cool because it goes on clear so
57:11 you can like see where i never use shea powder but you don't might be good for
57:15 you guys i don't have beard i just shave in the shower
57:18 i blind shave every time i don't even use like a shower mirror or anything i'm
57:21 just like yeah it's about there dude yeah and then i trim this bit but
57:24 anyways they ship to the u.s canada and australia uh so head over to
57:30 dollarshaveclub.com and give them a try for free i want to give a recommendation
57:34 their hair walks hair gel okay hair gel i don't use
57:39 anything which one do you use they have a bunch of different pads
57:42 the white one the white one cream not green no okay no in the thing
57:48 wax hair wax hair wax yeah that is really good are
57:52 you using it right now no i didn't no okay i was going to but i forgot okay so
57:57 um the i every time i use hair was i need to be like easily too easier to
58:01 wash when i found my hands because some of them other brands are really hard to
58:05 wash it wash out very rustic and they stay popular and make you look good
58:11 all right there you go okay so next one is
58:17 squarespace at least you know you should be
58:20 squarespace yes it is uh 24 7 live chat and email support fantastic it's always
58:26 been that way you can get a hold of them anytime you need it's 12 bucks a month
58:29 if you sign up for a year you get a domain for free just thrown in which is
58:32 cool it has a responsive design so if you're looking at it on my phone or
58:36 dennis's phone or my laptop or dennis's ginormous massive huge laptop or a
58:42 computer or a console or whatever tablet it'll all look and work fine they have
58:47 commerce modules so you can sell stuff which is fantastic or the cover page
58:51 feature which is Linus's favorite thing when everything is just on one website
58:55 and you just scroll through it and everything is there Linus loves that if
58:59 you have an example of a cover page style website that is just one page
59:04 tweet it to linustech he will he will absolutely just absolutely love that so
59:10 much everyone can publish content in apple news format directly from the
59:14 squarespace blog module which is great it opens it up to millions of potential
59:19 readers and you can start a trial today with no credit card required and use
59:23 offer code wan for 10 off of your first
59:26 purchase so head over there
59:30 fresh book then we have freshbooks freshbooks is the easy way to get paid
59:36 faster and create invoices faster and
59:40 expense things more easily and faster and blah blah blah you can try
59:43 freshbooks completely free for 30 days at freshbooks.com
59:48 when and make sure that you put wan in the how did you hear about us section uh
59:53 freshbooks as a timesheet function so you can manage your expenses and keep
59:57 track of who owes you what which is helpful both my parents have ran a
60:01 number of businesses and keeping track of that stuff can be really really frustrating because people don't like
60:05 paying right away they like terms where they can pay in 30 days or whatever else
60:09 it's really annoying also has a feature where you can see if your clients have
60:13 looked at your invoice when they looked at your invoice for the first time at least the mobile app has all the
60:18 functionality of their desktop version which is great so you can take fresh books wherever you go if you have any
60:22 questions you can reach out to their support where you'll speak to a real
60:26 human no phone tree no escalations no return calls just don't just pick up the
60:30 phone it's all good freshbooks.com when enter when and how do you hear about a
60:34 section and they just got a mobile card reader which is cool
60:38 yeah yeah okay
60:41 there we go okay um what do we have left in terms of topics
60:46 vr headsets and herpes what
60:50 so i was thinking about doing a video on this
60:53 which what that means i was i was
60:57 i got as far as like creating a new word doc to write the script and coming up
61:02 with some absolutely insane title to go
61:06 along with uh vr headsets giving people herpes um but i decided not to because
61:14 while i did think the information could be a little bit valuable it seemed more
61:18 valuable to just have on lan show and i didn't want to be that clickbaity and
61:22 terrible but i did think it would be pretty funny so ocular herpes is
61:27 actually a thing and it can actually be
61:30 transferred by sharing vr headsets it
61:34 can happen because stuff like your eyelashes
61:37 can touch things that are in there and ocular herpes can be transferred um an
61:42 anonymous chat transcript suggested that vr headsets were spreading herpes
61:46 there's a copy of the transcript and a
61:49 tweet that go along with it right here so you can see hey brad whoever brad is
61:55 ocular herpes is going around vr headsets ones that are used to share
61:59 with people blank game studio told us it's going
62:03 around have to clean headsets regularly and they're like oh my god wtf and stuff
62:09 um don't they have a replace uh thing you
62:12 can just put on the side so yeah but you can't replace the lenses
62:17 every time um so i think kind of the
62:20 deal right now is that people are trying to uh wipe down the lenses with like
62:24 alcohol solutions and stuff to kill whatever's there yeah um it's highly
62:28 unlikely but also not uh impossible that
62:32 someone could get ocular herpes through a vr headset says todd margolis chair of
62:37 the washington university school of medicine's department of ophthalmology
62:42 and visual sciences the odds would be like the odds of transmitting herpes on
62:46 toilet seats okay so that's pretty low general consensus is that vr developers
62:51 should keep antimicrobial wipes or covers around show booths
62:56 symptoms of ocular herpes include redness discomfort blurry vision and
63:00 light sensitivity on your eyes mild forms clear up within a couple weeks and
63:06 can be easily mistaken for pink eye oh
63:11 what's happening i do point at me i don't have a pink guy what was that
63:16 let's spread this misinformation points at me
63:20 sure so mean
63:24 oh my goodness i'm just showing the doc off apparently
63:27 uh apple airpods delayed indefinitely beyond original late october window
63:33 so that's pretty brutal
63:36 hey let's make a phone that need these wireless things and then nope
63:40 get wrecked do you an iphone guy no you're not no
63:44 i'm not anymore i just used to be right i used to be iphone yeah because you had that like super smashed one yeah i
63:49 switched to samsung Android what do you think
63:52 i love it now really yeah i
63:55 you can do you can down you have download folder no i know what you guys
63:58 were talking about because i didn't know i could win it was using iphone because
64:03 you guys always say oh you guys don't have a dollar folder or something and
64:07 because i don't know why you guys are talking i think you get one if you jailbreak it which is like really easy i
64:12 don't jailbreak i don't want to jailbreak it because it might
64:17 make your iphone worse right no
64:20 slower no somehow no yes somehow no
64:25 yes it's slower no no no no no okay oh
64:28 whatever i'm in here okay twitch chat no we're gonna show you guys on screen does
64:33 does jail jailbreaking your iphone make it slower
64:38 let's let's see what they say
64:42 okay apple ear pods though what do you think
64:46 that a wildlife airpod yeah
64:50 you don't want them anyways okay you don't even know how many air headphones
64:54 i lost every year
64:57 yes no no i see yes yes yes yes yes
65:01 the complete the whole thing is just a mess
65:04 twitch chat you can't trust him for anything
65:08 just so ridiculous see
65:12 yes it does no it doesn't yes hell yes it does no it doesn't yes not anymore
65:19 i just say that
65:27 that means you just said it yes yes yes okay
65:30 so i like my Android phone now because
65:34 it's it's like a it's like a mini pc okay yeah so not just because it's a new
65:39 phone but actually like the usability of the phone you prefer Android yeah okay
65:43 cool confirmed dennis prefers Android
65:47 confirmed i really don't like the earpod uh what's
65:51 it called ear air what uh air pods airpot
65:57 soylent halts the sales of its powder as customers
66:01 keep on getting sick reported that a handful of customers
66:04 reported stomach sickness after consuming it an announcement soylent
66:08 said there appears to be a common ingredient that's causing trouble in the
66:11 latest version of its products snack bar and powder
66:16 they said the investigation isn't complete so and so there shouldn't be any
66:19 problems with the pre-made drinks so and urged
66:23 customers discomfort by version 1.6 of its powder to toss it
66:27 newly formulated powder and bar should be available by early next year at the
66:32 latest so this doesn't include anything that anyone here does because we buy the
66:36 bottles i don't drink soy one yeah i tried it i
66:40 tried but i don't it's too plain for me yeah and i like real food so soylent is
66:45 for people like you guys if you you're in a rush or yeah you don't have
66:50 time for food i thought you were going to say that i don't like real food i was like you don't know you don't have time
66:54 yeah and you got all the
66:58 uh what's that called in all the health nutrition intrusion
67:03 nutrition nutrition you got all the nutrition yeah so
67:08 but you guys during the liquid one right yeah so those are those
67:13 aren't actually affected by this which is good um jumping over here the kodak why is
67:18 that oh that's your screen rip kodak extra um this is a kodak phone
67:24 that's actually not just a camera that we're looking at that's a phone so like
67:28 i don't know if i can scroll let's see here
67:32 oh there see the other end look at that it's a phone that's cool yeah
67:37 i don't wanna yeah i know we can do that so let's jump on dennis's screen he's
67:41 actually looking at the forum post i'm going to move this out of the way
67:44 so that's pretty cool integration that tidal waves did right
67:48 there information is available so it has a
67:51 uh is that helio helio x20 deca core
67:55 processor three thousand milliamp hour battery three gigs of RAM 32 gigabytes
67:59 of memory expandable with micro sd cards which is awesome makes sense in a
68:03 essentially camera phone um five inch
68:06 full hd display 441 ppi 1920x1080
68:10 resolution 21 megapixel main camera with
68:14 aperture of f2 uh which means something i'm sure
68:18 optical image stabilization and autofocus 13 megapixel front-facing
68:21 camera phase detection autofocus and HDR imaging and 4k video capture oh okay
68:27 does that sound interesting to you yeah but i because it's for their is
68:32 their first phone i believe so yeah um i have to see some code first phone i
68:37 don't know but it might be cool because they're a good camera right yeah yeah
68:43 i'm interested i i want brandon to do his first phone review and i want he
68:47 should do this i think that would be super cool to have
68:51 brandon do a phone review oh there's also sort of cool yeah
68:56 yeah and there's like the part where you hold it like on a normal camera right
69:00 yeah and i believe the shutter button is right up there which is kind of cool lens is big
69:04 and they have like they have the okay yeah they have the classic like
69:09 camera bag kind of thing going on with the flappy cover and stuff
69:14 that's cool that's cool don't just capture create so they're
69:19 showing like filters and stuff studio applications okay no so it's
69:23 editing software yeah that's cool
69:26 i just HDR thing i just want to see brandon review it to be completely
69:31 honest these are all pictures that they took with it it's pretty cool
69:35 i just i actually i really love brandon's videos yeah and to see brandon
69:40 review a phone would be interesting and to see brandon review with what is more
69:45 like a camera phone than a phone with a camera
69:48 would also be pretty cool one of my favorite things about brandon's reviews
69:52 is just looking at them because he always spends like a little
69:56 bit more time setting up the main a-roll site for himself what he does for anyone
70:00 else and then like all the b-roll in it will be
70:03 perfect and then he'll spend like a ton of time getting footage from the
70:08 device yeah yeah it's like all right when is
70:11 this phone out i'm not entirely sure you have to register
70:16 please let brandon do it yes more brandon videos um yeah i hope i hope it comes down that
70:22 way i don't know if brandon wants to do like a phone review and stuff
70:26 um but just tell him if he's a camera
70:31 and he'll find out it's a phone
70:34 yeah yeah pretty sure you'd find out the phone pretty quick
70:38 uh yeah i don't know how well that would work
70:42 um i think that's like pretty much it for
70:47 topics oh completely honest we're sort of out
70:51 we don't really have any more time i i wanted them to put blizzcon stuff in
70:55 here but there's no blizzcon stuff in here at
70:58 all so let's jump over to blizzcon 2016. you out of here wow
71:03 wow wow oh tonight
71:06 okay okay all right bye bye ed
71:11 you're not leaving you're just doing that okay i'm just greeting you oh you can't
71:16 hurt you back that way he's doing that no
71:21 he's doing that
71:24 i have shoulder issues so i can't raise my ARM all that high you have shoulder
71:28 issues so you can't raise your ARM that high
71:32 okay bye ed oh god
71:36 oh god the twitch chat just let me see what oh
71:42 god oh
71:46 okay so to give some context for the people
71:51 wondering that edzel and i were playing
71:54 uh secret hitler last night let me let me find this
72:00 secret hitler oh no yeah dennis i don't even know what that
72:05 means oh god oh wrong screen
72:10 so this is this is secret hitler
72:14 it's a frequently asked questions do they they
72:18 don't have pictures of like how the game works what is secret hitler secret
72:22 hitler is a dramatic game of political intrigue and betrayal set in 1930s
72:27 germany players are secretly divided into two teams liberals and fascists
72:32 known only to each other the fascists coordinate to sow distrust and install
72:37 their cold-blooded leader the liberals must find and stop the secret hitler
72:42 before it's too late so essentially at the beginning of every round you're
72:46 assigned a role and no one knows each other's role
72:49 the fascists know who hitler is but hitler doesn't know who the fascists are
72:54 um and the liberals don't know who anyone is um
72:58 and you have to like vote on things but you get different cards and it's all
73:03 about like subtlety and pretending that you are who you're not everyone wants to
73:07 pretend um in the game that they're a liberal because that's the only like
73:13 there's more liberals in the game than there is
73:17 fascists so you need people to think that you're on their team so that
73:20 they'll play with you kind of it's a it's a very interesting game but that's
73:25 why he was
73:31 i don't even know okay i don't even know
73:35 moving on from there there's uh blizzcon
73:38 2016 is going on right now so november
73:41 4th to 5th in anaheim california it is
73:45 november 4th right now some people know we were going to be
73:50 there we were supposed to be
73:54 on a sponsored trip to blizzcon covering a bunch of streaming hardware from a
73:58 particular company but that got
74:02 cancelled so that's why we are not there there's some interesting stuff that has
74:07 already happened there's been some here's the storm information
74:11 i don't think it's all posted right here right now but i do know from listening
74:15 to nick light that they're adding uh
74:20 oh crap who are they adding ragnaros
74:24 and one other dude who's like the alliance guy with the cool swords uh but
74:29 don't remember his name right now varian rin
74:34 marion win is that right could totally be wrong anyways they're
74:37 adding those guys to here's the storm and they're having an event for like i
74:42 think it's from november 20th to like december 20th or something like that if
74:46 you play a certain amount of games or if you win a certain amount of games or something you get a bunch of heroes for
74:49 free so they're trying to push here's the storm which is cool because they like that game but not enough people
74:54 play it um and yeah
74:57 blizzcon will be interesting do you play any blizzard games no none have you
75:02 played starcraft or no uh
75:06 warcraft yeah no that's i will have to spend too much time on those games yeah
75:12 so only you don't actually gain that much do you
75:15 now i just watch the office you just watch the office ah you're gonna run out
75:19 of the office man i know i'm season seven oh no you're so close michael just
75:25 left i was so sad yeah i was so sad yeah
75:29 because one once he left this
75:32 i don't know the point of watching you gotta keep watching this i know i know
75:36 yeah
75:39 you can't go seven seasons in and not finish the whole thing i'm going
75:43 to i watch like at least three apps a day
75:47 yeah everyone's yelling spoilers that show is
75:51 not new just go watch it man
75:54 deal with it although you did say like specifically
75:58 what season two i'm season seven
76:04 i have so 22. is that the one that he leaves 22 that's the the
76:09 app so he left there now you just got a super spoiler
76:13 your office watching experience is destroyed it will never be the same
76:16 again it's done it's absolutely done
76:20 i didn't say how long he he's leaving
76:24 maybe he's coming back i don't even know yeah i was just gonna say you haven't
76:27 finished the whole thing how would you know it all yeah anyways i think we are
76:32 going to be done um we are out of topics
76:36 and i have more stuff to work on uh Floatplane for those who know what that
76:40 even is and i need to get home because i
76:44 like do that stream and stuff oh your after party yes so after party if you
76:48 want to talk about things that happened in this show like ocular herpes feel
76:52 free to come join me on there uh yeah i see you ed
76:56 um twitch.tv slash lucasgar i'll be like
77:00 over an hour so don't be there too quickly anyways guys thanks for coming

77:34 guys later goodbye
77:38 hey it works
77:52 um
77:59 squarespace
