0:06 hey guys this is Luke and welcome to my really late review of the LG G2 first
0:10 we'll start off with tech specs so it has a 5.2 in 1080P IPS screen a 13
0:15 megapixel camera on the back a 2.26 GHz quadcore Snapdragon 800 which makes my
0:20 S3 look like a Tonka truck a 3,000 mAh
0:23 battery 32 GB of storage which only about I think 22 to 24 GB is usable I
0:29 believe and 2 GB of 800 MHz RAM next
0:32 we're moving to physical features so it comes in kind of a nasty gloss mine
0:36 specifically comes in Black which I'll hopefully cover up with a case as soon
0:39 as possible unlike the models in Korea it does not have a removable back
0:43 removable battery or interchangeable SD card slot other than that there's the
0:48 kind of tiny speakers which my hands seem to cover when I actually watch it
0:52 in portrait mode which is unfortunate because you're essentially manually
0:55 muting the device but I've gotten used to kind of Hope holding it really wide
0:58 so I don't cover the actual speakers but it is kind of odd um other than that
1:03 just around the the sides of the device there's no buttons and there's no
1:07 buttons on the front either which was really weird at first and I honestly
1:11 really hated it and expected I was not going to like the phone at all but
1:15 there's buttons on the back which I didn't like at first but then I noticed
1:18 that that's kind of where my finger naturally rests my finger naturally
1:21 rests right on the buttons on the back and it's really easy to tell what button
1:24 you're pressing so once I got used to that I noticed that there's the double
1:28 tap on feature for the screens so you can turn the screen on by just double tapping the screen and if you're able to
1:33 double tap a a blank area on your desktop it will turn the screen off so
1:37 if your phone is resting on a table you can double tap the screen to turn it on
1:41 double tap the screen to turn it off and you don't have to access the buttons on the back and if the button if the phone
1:45 is not resting on a table you can just press the buttons on the back easily
1:49 because your hand is naturally in that position and I actually really like this
1:52 feature after using the phone for quite a while it feels awkward to use a
1:55 different phone now to press the buttons on the side feels weird whenever I go to
1:59 press the Buton on the side I tend to press more than one and adjust things that I don't want to adjust and this
2:04 just feels better now if the phone's in my pocket I can reach down into my
2:07 pocket change the volume or do whatever really easily as I'll always know where
2:11 the buttons are because if they're at the top that means the top one is volume up if they're at the bottom that means
2:16 the top one is volumed down it's just really simple and I like it a lot I hope
2:20 this feature transcends onto phones in the future so that once I replace this
2:24 phone I can get this feature again that's how much I do like it now speaking about hoping this feature might
2:28 be on future phones my future phone might actually be this phone my contract
2:32 is ending with tus very soon and I'm going to have to pick up another phone
2:35 it's honestly probably going to be this one I really like the buttons on the back and speaking of Tellus thank you
2:41 Tellus for giving Android bugle this phone Android bugle is a Canadian
2:45 publication talking about mobile stuff and they were nice enough to give us
2:50 this phone to review and to give away so we'll be giving away by having you guys
2:55 comment on the video below include somewhere in your comment Android bugle
2:59 whether or not it's it's like thans Android bugle or something like that that'll all work as long as you have
3:03 Android bugle in it I be able to find it more easily and also Circle them on
3:07 Google+ if you do both those two things comment on the video below with
3:11 something to do with Android bugle and circle them on Google+ you'll be entered
3:14 into the into the draw to win that phone the uh LG G2 more about the back button
3:20 so if you hold the volume up button on the back down while the screen is off it
3:26 will open up the notes application quickly and just jump you right into
3:30 there if you hold the volume down button down while the screen is off it'll open
3:33 the camera application and having your uh hand already back there makes it
3:38 fairly easy to take pictures in portrait mode and will enable you to take
3:41 pictures just by pressing that button again and speaking of the camera it's actually pretty awesome it has Optical
3:46 image stabilization a pretty sweet sensor and tons of photo options as you
3:50 guys probably know I'm not exactly the greatest at taking photos so I'm going
3:54 to get Brandon here to actually take the photo so you guys can see some examples
3:57 of how good this camera is I personally have just been using it to take super
4:01 cheesy photos of my food although I have not been instagramming them or posting
4:05 them online so don't worry about that the 3,000 mli hour battery with a
4:09 combination of the efficiency of the Snapdragon 800 is pretty impressive as a
4:13 story of how good this battery is and this is probably one of the the best
4:17 cases I could have possibly been in was at CES when I was using the phone quite
4:21 heavily I forgot to charge it one night now I was staying up for like 20 hours a
4:26 day at this point and using it quite consistently throughout the entire enire
4:29 day used it for one day forgot to charge it overnight use it for the entire next
4:33 day and as I was laying down to go to bed it finally gave me a warning saying
4:37 that I only have 15% of my battery life left meaning it worked for two entire
4:42 extended days of Fairly medium to heavy
4:45 use without dying I still had a little bit of juice left that was awesome
4:49 because I was able to completely forget about charging it and completely get
4:52 through the whole next day without having to worry about carrying a battery pack around or anything like that the
4:57 phone is running Android 4.2 software and on on top of that it's running LG's
5:01 Optimus UI currently I've used TouchWiz since for a little while and now Optimus
5:06 UI um when you first start using Optimus UI it's a little bit clunky there's a
5:11 bunch of animations and the animations are fairly long now the snapd dragon 800
5:15 makes the animations run exactly how long they should be and not really lag
5:18 but they still take a little while and seem a little bit unnecessary and some
5:22 things are just a little bit messy luckily it's fairly customizable you can
5:26 change a lot of things and after spending a while with it I found that I
5:31 was able to turn it into something that I didn't mind that much the only thing I
5:34 don't really like right now is the notification drawer that is still pretty
5:39 messy and I'm hoping that I can fix that up in the next little while uh because
5:44 I'm not actually a huge fan of it but the rest of the whole experience I have
5:48 been able to change to my liking quite well thank you for watching my video on
5:52 the LG G2 don't forget to comment below with something to do with Android bugle
5:56 and do you like the buttons on the back or do you still want buttons on the the
5:59 side I know I like the buttons on the back but that might not be the same for
6:03 everyone and it might suit your style a lot better to have the buttons on the side so what do you think also don't
6:08 forget to Circle Android Bugle on Google+ because you need to do that to
6:11 be eligible for the contest as well as always thumbs up or thumbs down based on
