0:14 welcome to my unboxing of the KB 460 from Funk this is a brand you haven't
0:18 seen featured much on the channel and the reason for that is that they just
0:21 don't really have that many products up till now so the ms3 is their gaming
0:26 mouse that I really feel is quite optimal for people with larger hands and
0:30 both Diesel and b-roll actually use them day-to-day at their editing stations and
0:35 this is the follow-up the KB 460 so first up inside we find a product manual
0:40 next inside we find a couple of little
0:43 presumably feet or something we'll find out what those are for later and we've
0:46 also got some nice closed cell foam packing material on either side of what
0:52 is a fairly sturdy
0:55 feeling Cherry MX red back lit
0:58 mechanical keyboard once we get the keyboard extracted from
1:03 the box we find a design that is actually kind of both subdued and
1:07 striking looking so the back plane itself has a matte soft touch feel that
1:12 looks very professional and very clean and then the keys themselves are
1:16 individually LED backlit with red LEDs
1:19 and to augment the LED shine there's actually a red layer underneath all of
1:24 the keys that is easily visible when the keyboard is not powered on see there you
1:29 see that so that the the LEDs Shine off of that as well making the lighting even
1:33 more striking the cable has the standard
1:36 Funk black and orange finish to it it's actually quite a thin cable which it
1:40 makes sense because it terminates in a single connector on the other end so it
1:44 should be borne in mind that these two USB 2.0 ports are non-powered ports so
1:49 you won't be able to plug in like the most you know power hungry like you know
1:53 you know a light in a fan that's for your desk or anything like that it's
1:57 meant to plug in your mouse and maybe a USB drive or something along those lines
2:01 the layout has nothing about it that I would complain about which is a definite
2:05 plus cuz there's usually something for me to gripe about when it comes to
2:09 keyboard layouts long shift Keys long backspace long enter media Keys built in
2:14 as well as built-in profile key so you can actually reprogram any of the keys
2:19 on the keyboard and then switch between the profiles using F7 to f11 along with
2:25 the function key next to the profile Keys there's also the funk mode key
2:29 which does a couple of things so number one is that it illuminates the funk mode
2:34 button no no it does more than that don't worry it also disables the Windows
2:38 key and allows all of these function keys to be accessed without holding
2:42 function so you can switch between profiles on the fly it has built-in
2:45 memory so there's absolutely no driver installation required and the keyboard
2:50 also supports full n key rollover on its
2:53 Cherry MX red switches now Cherry MX red switches are one of those hotly debated
2:58 items gamers will run around saying they're the best things since sliced
3:02 bread because they're extremely light making them great for fast repeated
3:06 pressing whereas typists will run around saying well no I can't type on anything
3:10 but blues and anything but Blues is terrible you know what there's probably
3:13 a middle ground somewhere here but there it is it comes with Cherry MX red
3:17 switches and given that it is a product that is marketed towards Gamers that
3:21 makes a fair bit of sense the last thing of note here is those little clips that
3:25 I had in the Box before so those go down here and then you actually clip the
3:29 wrist rest onto them that gives you a fair bit of flexibility in terms of the
3:33 range of motion of your wrist rest and a system that looks like it'll come off as
3:38 opposed to Breaking this is something I'm happy to see included I'm seeing
3:41 more and more manufacturers just flat out cheap out and not include wrist
3:45 rests and Funk has gone and included a nice wide one that spans the entire
3:49 width of the keyboard kudos to them for that so if I had to summarize the KB 460
3:54 in some way the highest praise I can give it I think is that I have nothing
3:58 to complain about I'm personally not a huge fan of Cherry
4:02 MX red switches so it's not really made for me personally but other than that
4:07 there's nothing wrong with it it's driverless it has all the function keys
4:11 that you might want it's solidly
4:15 built no complaints and when it comes to keyboards if there's not something
4:19 that's driving you crazy about it it's probably just as well that it gets out of your way and you have nothing to
4:23 complain about with it thank you for checking out my unboxing and overview of
