0:00 so my original plan for the obutto Revolution was to find the most ba
0:05 monitor setup on the planet and take a look at this thing from a productivity
0:09 and gaming perspective allinone shot unfortunately and this is a super duper
0:14 first world problem I ended up with a surround setup of three LG 31 muu 97
0:20 displays which are absolutely beautiful 31-in monitors but uh all add up to an
0:26 ungodly 26.5 million pixel resolution that no
0:31 current graphics card setup could even hope to drive in modern AAA titles so in
0:36 my unintentional part one I talked about productivity and comfort because that
0:42 screen real estate and that flexibility of the setup and you can check that one
0:46 out here while I waited for auss to send me three Rog Swift pg278 Q gaming
0:52 monitors so that I could actually play some games on the bloody thing and by
0:57 the way that stick and throttle that you see uh the x55 the review of that is
1:01 coming
1:09 soon you can ensure Swift Victory with Corsair's highly responsive lightweight
1:14 gaming mouse their saber RGB click my face hopefully if Nick remembers The
1:18 annotation to learn more so I'll start with why I picked the
1:23 pg278 Q out of all the 1440p monitors on
1:26 the market it features Lightning Fast pixel response times a 144 hzz refresh
1:31 rate NVIDIA gsync um while I wouldn't recommend it for a pro photographer for
1:36 a TN monitor really not bad color reproduction in viewing angles the
1:41 second of which is especially critical in a surround setup and you know what
1:44 just screw it if you want to know more about this monitor it's great check out
1:48 my review of it here the next thing I'd like to address about this setup is that
1:52 while the pg278q aren't impossible to
1:55 drive three of these suckers is still about 11 million pixels hardly Child's
2:00 Play so everything you're seeing demoed is on a very high-powered machine
2:04 running an Intel Core i7 5960x 8 Core Extreme Edition processor at 4.2 GHz
2:10 even overclocked 16 gigs of ddr4 memory and two gtx980 graphics cards in SLI so
2:17 with that out of the way the first step is to gear up the cockpit with my G25
2:22 racing wheel setup this process taught me a lot about both the versatility of
2:27 the oo um I ended up moving the chair back back quite a bit further moving the
2:31 foot pad down and reducing the angle of its incline so away from my feet I ended
2:37 up moving the wheel Mount closer to me tweaking shifter height and then I was
2:41 able to finally Bolt the wheel and foot pedals onto the revolution with the
2:45 conveniently pre-drilled holes and clipped the shifter into place and then
2:49 with that down I sat down and promptly accidentally wrenched the shifter off
2:53 the mount not because the mount is any less secure than it ever was before you
2:58 know when I had it clipped on to the table but because driving in the
3:02 revolution feels truly different from
3:05 driving at your desk my usual racing
3:08 game complaints will all still exist until driving cockpits with motion
3:13 compensation get a lot more affordable but with everything so securely mounted
3:19 and a more carlike sitting posture I
3:22 definitely found myself falling into my real driving habits of slouching with
3:27 one hand on the wheel and just throwing the shifter around into gear so I'd
3:32 recommend drilling your own holes for your shifter because accidentally
3:36 pulling it off was the one complaint that I really had about this config
3:39 because everything else about it is just
3:43 better than doing this kind of thing at your desk I mean one of the reasons my
3:47 G25 mostly sits in a closet is that it is so inconvenient to set up and I
3:53 always end up tearing it down when I do because it takes up so much space the
3:59 Evolution takes care of that by making your keyboard and mouse much more easily
4:04 accessible something that can be a huge Boon even when you are racing since so
4:09 many games are a pain in the butt to navigate with the buttons built into
4:13 your wheel so my final thoughts on using the obutto and the default racing
4:18 configuration are these this is the first time I've ever really felt like
4:22 the g25s toy grade build quality is just
4:26 not good enough it takes the experience to another level like to the point where
4:30 I found myself needing to wear shoes for better control and craving force
4:35 feedback pedals and a much more robust shifter unit and just it generally gave
4:39 me an understanding of why people get really really deep into this stuff but
4:45 with that said driving has never really been my thing anyway so the next step
4:49 for me was to use the optional flight stick Mount and convert to a flight Sim
4:53 cockpit the whole process took about half an hour including watching the one
4:57 minute guide on aut's website and involved removing the shifter Mount
5:01 adding the mount on the left for the throttle portion of my x55 and mounting
5:05 the joystick Mount you can put the joystick over on the right if you want
5:10 but I went with the center mount for a couple of reasons it does make the seat
5:14 a little more difficult to get into and out of but I find the center Mount more
5:18 natural and more authentic feeling with my hands on it and I found a great
5:23 solution to my complaints about the keyboard and mouse tray from my
5:27 productivity video having it mounted on the right hand side puts more support
5:32 under my mouse hand and causes it to shift around a lot less during use it
5:37 also makes the keyboard and mouse very accessible with the joystick in for
5:41 games that have FPS and flight elements so you can switch between them really
5:45 quickly and when you're done playing out right and you don't want the joystick in
5:49 the way and you want to bring the keyboard mouse a little closer you just pull one Knob Off put it aside and
5:53 you're ready to use it as a normal computer one thing that sketched me out
5:57 a little bit about all of this was the double-sided mounting T tape that o
6:01 expects you to use to Mount Your hotas but I was pleasantly surprised when I
6:06 simply placed the throttle down on its Mount to check the location and almost
6:10 couldn't get it off to reposition it this is some serious business tape and
6:14 it should hold out for a long time so let's talk about actually using it
6:18 though right well um if you're into flight games and all I can really say is
6:23 loads of fun and then I can try to find different ways to say loads of fun for
6:28 the next couple of minutes it's cuz it's freaking awesome I fired up Star Citizen
6:32 Elite dangerous and an old favorite of mine X-Wing and everything I said about
6:36 racing games definitely applies here except to a genre of games that I
6:41 generally find a lot more entertaining and interesting even if I also suck at
6:45 these I definitely found Star Citizen a little tough to play Because at this
6:50 resolution I was dipping well under 30 FPS even at low details but Elite
6:55 dangerous ran at over 60 FPS which especially with gsync looks butter
7:00 smooth and was just a blast to play around with so it's time to draw my
7:05 final conclusions about the abuto revolution cuz there won't be a part
7:08 three to this after my first video I wasn't completely sold on it as a daily
7:13 driver workstation it's an okay chair on an incredibly versatile seemingly
7:18 infinitely adjustable monitor SL peripheral Mount thing which is cool
7:23 really cool but not cool enough to justify how much space it takes up in my
7:29 house after gaming on it I'm really
7:33 trying to figure out a way to get my wife to let me keep this thing even if I
7:37 have to put it in the garage and wear a jacket when I use it it's really really
7:41 freaking cool once you've done it up right with the correct displays and
7:46 accessories and if you're a racing or flight Enthusiast with a couple Grand to
7:51 burn then there's two things I have to say to you number one can I be your
7:55 friend you seem like a pretty cool baller sort of individual and two don't
7:59 even think about trying one of these things because your Enthusiast status is
8:04 about to reach newer crazier Heights and that money you had to burn well you
8:08 won't have it anymore so guys that's pretty much it thanks for watching like
8:13 this video if you liked it dislike it if you disliked it leave a comment on the
8:16 lonus tech tips Forum I'm going to be monitoring that much more closely than
8:20 the comments on YouTube um for a variety of reasons many of which will become
8:24 clear in the future one of which has to do with if you sign up for our Forum
8:28 it'll be a lot easier for us to reach you given how broken the YouTube subbox
8:31 is among other things actually I need to do just like a general update at some
8:35 point here anyway um guys Linked In the video description we've got a link where
