0:07 welcome to my unboxing and first look at the Corsair
0:10 h80i so this is the replacement for the
0:13 Corsair h80 which is different from the Hadi in a couple of key ways so number
0:19 one is that the h80 is completely eyess
0:23 it has no eyes wow worst joke ever right but
0:29 that's what makes this channel
0:32 great yes okay moving right along what
0:37 is the key difference between the Hadi and the H number one Corsair link so
0:42 Corsair link is a software feature that Corsair has built in to the hardware
0:47 that allows you to do all kinds of cool stuff like monitoring your uh coolant
0:51 temperatures changing your fan speed cool cool stuff and if you have other
0:55 corer components like their ax1200i for
0:58 example power supply then you can can monitor all kinds of other stuff like
1:01 you can monitor your power supply temperature your rails all kinds of neat
1:05 stuff with Corsair link fans if you have the Corsair link module you can monitor
1:09 and control your fan set fan control curves quick start guide shows you how
1:13 to do a bunch of cool stuff like mounting it to things okay that's
1:17 important if you don't Mount this to your CPU this product will be useless to
1:21 you it is compatible with both Intel and
1:24 AMD and it has a lot of plastic inside
1:28 this stuff will kill your baby and there is a warning all over it plastic bags
1:33 are not toys Corsair believes in not
1:36 killing babies this message was brought to you by
1:41 Corsair or something okay this is just a
1:44 bad unboxing so far so don't worry I'm going to clean it up um the next cool
1:48 thing about the H the next cool thing about the Hadi is
1:54 the inclusion of a way better mounting
1:57 mechanism for switching between Intel and AMD so check this out all you got to
2:02 do is you want to go oh yeah I want to put like some Intel CPUs in my
2:06 system and uh you know you just kind of
2:09 go like this and you're all like yeah I'm making this look harder
2:14 than it is at this point in time there you go what bam oh it's cuz the plastic
2:18 here there you go so it's magnetic you take the Intel retention thing you put
2:22 it on there boom done you want to be like Oh shoot no no no I I got an AMD
2:26 CPU my bad my bad bam AMD down
2:30 no problem magnetic very cool very easy
2:33 to hold things in place you don't I mean remember the guys do you remember the
2:37 original h70 the mounting mechanism on that thing where you had to like hold
2:42 the thing on the back and position the thing just right and have the little
2:45 things in the little grooves and you have to like have a third ARM coming out of your shoulder to like screw in the
2:49 screwdriver no no no we're done with that magnetic mounting easy back plate
2:54 all the hardware you need is included here and it's very stylish looking
2:57 Hardware I might say check out these thumb screws those are just gorgeous see
3:01 these are the little nice finishing touches that I appreciate um LGA 2011
3:06 compatibilities provided by this these pieces right here and then all the other
3:10 sockets are dealt with with the back plate which has adjustable uh width
3:15 right here so you can do 775 1155 1156
3:18 and 1366 no big deal and then AMD is
3:21 with a couple loops and couple thumb screws it's you know it's complicated
3:25 you guys wouldn't understand don't worry about it uh the third key thing about
3:29 the h80 oh this is cool look at that I think they uh I think they
3:36 increased the uh or decreased the fpi the density looks like it okay so this
3:42 is a much more silence optimized radiator assuming I'm not completely
3:46 Incorrect and talking out of my you know that thing um it looks like this is a
3:51 much more silence optimized radiator which means performance shouldn't suffer
3:56 much at all because as long as you got a nice thick 120 mil radiator they're all
3:59 going to perform pretty close once you start pumping some air flow through them
4:02 and once you get down to lower RPMs on your fans this will pull itself away
4:07 from a denser 120 mm radiator so I said
4:11 the radiator was a thicker style radiator this will perform significantly
4:14 better than something like an h60 or H50 which has that thin Radiator in fact
4:18 most of the pre-done water coolers on the market use thin RADS because they do
4:23 offer better compatibility however the drawback for
4:26 them is that they do not perform as well as well okay speaking of performance
4:31 Corsair has upgraded the coolant pipes from 1/4 in to 38 in and they have kept
4:37 these swiveling mounts right here which give you lots of flexibility in terms of
4:41 where you want to sort of Route the tubes and how you want to do that um and
4:46 you can twist these up as much as you want will not Kink awesome awesome stuff
4:51 love to see that so the finish on it has also changed a little bit as well also
4:56 changed as well that's totally red
5:01 that's totally redundant that's totally
5:04 redundant that's to no I'm just kidding okay see slick called me on it he
5:09 brought the camera up here I could have gotten away with it for a couple more if he hadn't done that okay so on the unit
5:13 itself the Corsair link module is inside here as well as the pump and the CPU
5:18 block so you can see the copper base so there's spins in there and stuff
5:21 pre-applied high quality thermal compound and here we have a couple of
5:26 different things so we've got some cables for this so I can show you guys check this out so there's a USB
5:30 connector that plugs into your motherboard that is how your cooler
5:34 interfaces with your computer and that is how the software controls everything
5:38 next we've got this guy right here which is a breakout cable so you can plug in
5:43 both of the fans that you want to wait hold on this for the yeah there we go
5:49 okay so those guys plug in here and you can actually get an additional one if
5:52 you want you can plug in additional fans should you so desire but it comes with
5:56 two of Corsair's new style fan so do
6:00 that right there so you can plug in up to two four pin pwm fans without any
6:05 additional hoopla going
6:10 on the last thing that is a major improvement over the original h80 is
6:15 these fans now these are slightly downgraded versions of
6:20 corsairs yeah I can't find one but here's a box you'll have to sort of
6:24 imagine that there's an SP 1220 in there see there's a sort you know what I can
6:28 find one there I found one okay no wrong
6:32 one there I found one no wrong one you
6:36 got to be kidding me here where are my SP
6:39 1220s slick did you take them okay
6:42 there's an sp120 okay so SP 1220s have
6:45 color change rings around them they come with a few different Rings they have
6:49 rubber mounts up here see the full like corner is filled with rubber and I think
6:55 that's pretty much the only key difference because the blade design is
6:59 what's most most important about a fan so these are slightly costed down
7:02 because they don't have the Rubber and they don't have the interchangeable blades but these are way better fans
7:07 than what have been included on previous generation Corsair liquid cooling
7:11 products they're awesome and you should use them in push pull on your h80 as
7:16 long as you have enough room in your chassis otherwise you can just use one
7:19 they are pressure optimized fans so you don't have to worry about cranking up
7:23 the RPMs in order to get great performance out of your liquid cooling
7:27 unit and that's pretty much it what else is there to say about it so in summary
7:32 Corsair link better fans well-designed
7:35 radiator and thicker tubes and I guess
7:39 that's actually oh yeah and the easier retention mechanism I think that is
7:43 enough that they probably could have called it an h85 or an h90 if they'd
7:46 really wanted to but who knows maybe they're you know saving that for
7:50 something even more impressive either way thanks for checking out my unboxing
