0:00 Linus Tech tips coverage of ctia 2014 is brought to you by
0:04 AT&T all right guys welcome to the AT&T Booth where we are currently checking
0:07 out AT&T Digital Life the idea behind Digital Life is home automation and home
0:12 security so essentially you you should be able to alarm your house remotely
0:15 away from home so say you leave home you can alarm your house from the car make
0:18 sure all the lights are turned off and all the doors are locked then you come
0:22 home the home should know that you just arrived in your connected car it should
0:25 disarm the house unlock all the doors open the garage door for you maybe start
0:29 playing some music Turn The Lights On start coffee depending on what time it
0:32 is that you come home all those kind of small mundane tasks that you
0:35 realistically shouldn't have to do yourself in the connected future another
0:39 kind of cool example that I personally appreciate is the master bedroom private
0:44 time mode where if you close the door on the master bedroom this is of course programmed by yourself in their app if
0:48 you close the door in the master bedroom it will then automatically lock that
0:51 door it'll automatically alarm the house maybe turn the lights off in the house
0:55 uh start playing some nice smooth sensual Chaz music and maybe dim the
0:59 lights above the bed so you can have some cool little adult time with your
1:03 significant other other things that it can do is say sense a water leak under
1:08 your sink so if you and your significant other are away at work and maybe the kids are at school or something like
1:12 that and there's a leak under your tap it can detect that and turn the top off
1:17 with a valve cool functionality and they have everything ranging from touch
1:21 sensors to camera motion sensors and everything like that available in their
1:26 app so you can set up run programs so you can say run that master bedroom
1:29 program I was just talking about remotely from anywhere or just
1:32 automatically through the room and you can kind of monitor different rooms so
1:36 if you have a camera that watches say the patio you could set up the patio as
1:40 a room and you could have different you could see all the different sensors that
1:44 are in the patio the camera that's on the patio all of that in a customizable
1:48 dashboard within their app very cool functionality to talk about how the
1:51 connected home and the connected car can work together I had an awesome
1:55 conversation with Ralph DEA if you think about it today uh you leave your home uh
2:00 you have a voicemail system in the home and a voice command in the home you have
2:03 a different one in the car you have a different one when you get to work with
2:06 AT&T Drive we're trying to put all those things together so have the same voice
2:10 commands at home in the car and in the office to make it easier for everyone to
2:15 interact with their homes with their cars and everything in between all right
