0:07 I am now on the list for Microsoft Hardware apparently so all I got in
0:13 terms of information about this particular guy here is that this is
0:17 model number 1482 of a keyboard made by
0:21 Microsoft okay this is the 3xj
0:24 000019 in terms of the part number and it comes in a brown box this is a
0:30 Microsoft keyboard which has a bit of a wave to it let's go ahead and take the
0:36 uh plastic covering off here and hopefully at some point we will be able
0:40 to find out exactly what this model is ah here we go so apparently what I have
0:46 to unbox and take a look at today is the Microsoft Comfort Curve keyboard 3000
0:50 for business so that is what Ms part
0:53 number X 8221 34-5 is look at that the manufacturing
0:58 date is like less Le than a month ago very cool all right so let's have a look
1:03 at this here product and see if Microsoft includes anything else of note
1:07 in the packaging so we do have a product guide with important safety and health
1:11 information as well as a limited warranty in terms of warranty I wouldn't
1:14 worry too much oh okay keyboard in uh 3 years
1:18 neat okay and and the thing about Microsoft Hardware warranty is that it
1:23 is actually one of the best in the biz they are there are me very very very
1:29 many testimonials out there on the inar
1:32 webs about how Microsoft takes care of their Hardware customers when something
1:37 goes wrong with a Microsoft keyboard mouse headset joystick whatever the case
1:41 may be so let's have a look at the layout overall I was actually one of the
1:45 uh shoot what was that thing called I
1:48 think it was called the Microsoft natural keyboard that that old old one
1:53 that was made of like you know beige old computer colored plastic and it had the
1:56 split in the middle right so when you're using it you're like this click clickity
2:00 clickity everyone hated it when it first
2:03 came out um well everyone I knew I mean there are lots of people who swear by
2:07 those those those ergonomic style keyboards but I loved it I had one of
2:12 those original Microsoft ones that I used for years and this is more like an
2:17 in between so you don't have that split down the middle of the keyboard but you
2:21 can see if you look at it in an angle it does have a bit of a curve so why did I
2:25 like it so much I liked it because this
2:29 when you're when you're in your Arms This shape I'm going to point them at
2:32 you is a lot more natural than this in terms of your shoulders and the
2:36 alignment of your arms so they put a slight curve to this keyboard so that
2:40 you're actually holding your hands in a more comfortable position while you type
2:46 while keeping the keys all together so you don't have that weird on natural
2:50 split because remember not everyone types correctly although using that
2:53 keyboard was one of the ways that fixed my incorrect typing where I was reaching
2:57 over to the other side of the keyboard whenever it was conven venient because the split didn't allow me to do it so
3:02 this guy right here just has a slight curve so it's an in between a flat
3:06 keyboard and a large ergonomic style
3:09 keyboard that's what I where I was trying to go with that now in terms of
3:12 the layout we've got a pretty standard layout Microsoft hasn't committed any
3:16 cardinal sins on this keyboard so you can see we have a fullsize tab very long
3:20 shift key in order to make sure that you can reach it like no matter what look
3:24 how long that shift key is it's like the longest key on the keyboard than space
3:27 bar okay we do have a fullsize backspace key
3:30 full size Enter key and another long shift key look at these shift Keys
3:33 they're like monstrosities okay we haven't moved around any of the critical
3:38 Keys we have nice large delete key home end page up page down are all in their
3:43 correct locations the scroll lock insert and insert I like this one up here
3:48 because having the insert up here means that sometimes you can accidentally
3:51 press it when you meant backspace or you meant delete and then you end up typing over your stuff and it compounds a small
3:56 error and turns it into a much much larger error
4:01 uh We've also only got one Windows key so there's a Windows key here and then
4:04 the other one is a function key so using the function key we can access keys that
4:08 we otherwise can't access like pause and it looks like that's
4:12 actually the only thing it does no it couldn't
4:15 be must be fascinating okay we do have a
4:20 number pad layout a number lock and we have a couple media Keys as well so we
4:24 can access the calculator that's good for business we can also play pause
4:27 reduce the volume and increase the volume of the music that we are
4:31 listening to in our office which is bothering the others next to
4:35 us and that is pretty much all that I
4:40 have to say about it so thank you for checking out my unboxing and first look
4:43 at the Comfort Curve 3000 from Microsoft don't forget to subscribe for more
4:46 unboxings reviews and other computer videos o and here's another useful
4:50 feature so it actually shows you see there's a little star on the control and
4:53 it shows you what all of these hot Keys actually do so you don't even have to
4:57 think about it at all look at that I didn't even know Windows d goes to the
5:01 desktop see look and Windows e goes to my PC I know most of these other ones
5:08 though
