0:00 So today we're going to be doing an unboxing of an isus minia Max home
0:04 entertainment center what I think they actually mean is at 310 NT or 3 310 3 I
0:11 on t-i so this is a mini ITX motherboard
0:15 that is designed as you may or may not be able to figure out for home
0:19 entertainment use it is fanless and quiet it is amplifier friendly okay it
0:24 will run full HD video it has home theater gate and it is Slim I think by
0:30 they mean Mini ITX let's flip it over to the back where we can see a picture of
0:33 the board we can see that this board runs with dual channel uh DDR3 it has
0:40 full HD playback fan list design o and DTS so that's what they mean by
0:44 amplifier friendly it is Windows 7 ready it features an Intel atom dual core 330
0:50 processor and NVIDIA ion so here it has
0:53 a users's guide with a um with a drivers
0:56 and applications DVD which you should throw away and download the latest from
1:00 the uh well I guess the assus website then we have an IO
1:04 Shield we have two SATA cables so it's a
1:07 fairly barebones accessory package but ASUS has not skimped when it comes to
1:12 the actual quality of the product itself
1:15 fanless as you guys may or may not know is actually far more expensive to
1:20 produce than something with a fan and the reason for that is that this hunk of
1:25 metal costs an awful lot more than a much smaller hunk of metal and a little
1:30 whiny fan on top of it so I applaud ASUS for making an effort to make their home
1:34 theater Solutions run fanless all right
1:37 so let's have a look at the overall layout of the board we have our CPU and
1:42 GPU both situated under this fanless heat sink we've got our
1:47 DDR3 memory slots two of them over here
1:50 on the right hand Edge we have a 24 pin
1:53 power connector and what I imagine is probably a fairly decent location for it
1:57 although many ITX cases have very
2:00 different uh internal layouts so it's hard to say what is the ideal location
2:05 we have a PCI Express 16x slot down here at the bottom although I really can't
2:09 imagine that you'd install a high powered graphics card in a motherboard
2:14 such as that but just for Giggles because this is my video blog and
2:19 because I do as I please I am going to install a GTX 580 on this motherboard so
2:25 the GTX 580 as you can plainly see is about the size of the mother board and
2:31 fits in pretty nicely so if you have a mini ITX case that supports uh you know
2:37 video cards that are like 4 and 1/2 in longer than the motherboard itself then
2:42 you can go ahead and you can install a GTX 580 in your AT3 I on
2:48 t-i if I could get it out that would be great there we go all right so let's
2:52 keep going we've got SATA 2 3 GB per
2:56 second ports four of them we have two front USB headers and what I cannot
3:00 imagine would be an ideal location because it's going to be pretty hard to
3:03 access those you know but that's okay I'm sure you'll only have to do it once
3:07 we have three fan connectors which are also in very very very odd location but
3:12 you like I said you're probably only going to access it once so I wouldn't worry too much about it on the back
3:17 we've got our output options so we have PS2 well input two I suppose we have a
3:22 PS2 keyboard Port we have six USB 2.0
3:26 ports VGA and HDMI this is actually a
3:30 pretty good mix because it gives you that Legacy connection and then it also
3:33 gives you HDMI which can easily be adapted to DVI we have optical audio out
3:38 gigabit Ethernet and then we have SIMPLE
3:42 um ancient 5.1 audio which I actually don't mind because on a system like this
3:47 you're probably going to be using the audio out over HDMI anyhow so thank you
3:52 for checking out my unboxing of the AT3 I on
