0:00 so we're not exactly fully moved into the new office but videos must roll so
0:05 let's check out the Logitech G29 driving
0:08 force by the way like the video if you're a huge fan of 5 gallon buckets
0:13 they're just you can use them for so many things they're
0:25 awesome freshbooks is a super simple invoicing solution that lets you get
0:30 organized save time and get paid faster click now to try it for
0:34 free the G29 driving force doesn't look
0:38 a ton different compared to a G27 or G25 for that matter other than the buttons
0:42 on the steering wheel and that's fair because well that's about it but uh
0:49 we'll come on to that again closer to the conclusion for now let's just focus
0:52 on the G29 for internal Hardware the G29
0:56 steering wheel has dual force feedback Motors anti-backlash single reduction
1:00 helical gearing automatic calibration all that kind of stuff which actually
1:05 the calibration at least looks really badass when you first plug it in it has
1:08 900° of overall rotation and a hall effect sensor the force feedback feature
1:13 takes in-game conditions and transfers them to the wheel so that you feel more
1:17 like you're actually in the vehicle that you're driving for instance I was
1:21 playing project cars and did a bunch of career cart racing I had a tendency to
1:25 cut Corners a little bit too close and it was very apparent when two of my
1:29 wheels would run up onto the curb because the steering would change very
1:33 cool the Dual feedback motor was also pretty fantastic it was nice to have it
1:38 fight with me as I would try to drag my cart around a corner at a way too high
1:42 speed when the game was giving me red arrows all over the place speaking of
1:46 fighting with it while doing so my hands were surprisingly comfortable Logitech
1:50 claims that they constructed the G29 with materials that were selected for
1:54 long-term durability precision and comfort and especially that last one
1:59 Comfort was was apparent pretty quick the leather wrapped around the steering
2:02 wheel feels great we talked about Precision components earlier and in
2:05 terms of durability they do have anodized aluminum through the steering
2:09 wheel which is great although the rest of the body is mostly plastic but that
2:13 being said that's probably fine as the only other things that you're directly
2:17 interacting with are usually metal or leather moving down to the pedals which
2:22 feature throttle breake and clutch which a lot of other solutions kind of skip
2:26 out on you have metal plates for each pedal and then a hole whole whack ton of
2:30 plastic which again is probably fine I don't know of many people having issues
2:35 with the G27 pedals and the overall design of these is more or less the same
2:39 the pedals are all self-calibrating and the brake pedal is nonlinear in order to
2:44 mimic a pressure sensitive brake system for more responsive feel you can make
2:48 adjustments to the pedals to move them left or right by small amounts by using
2:53 a 2.5 mm hex key which can help people with big or small feet just fine-tune
2:58 things to themselves moving back back up to the steering wheel we have the controls all of these can be macro set
3:03 into pretty much whatever you want but most games will have some sort of profile that the Logitech gaming
3:07 software included with the steering wheel will pick up on and set up for you
3:11 you can change things within the software or say Force profile override
3:15 so that the wheel will act the exact same way in every game that you try it
3:19 in overall this software was intuitive and very easy to use in addition to your
3:23 standard PlayStation buttons you have a plus and minus buttons a dial and an
3:27 Enter key which will most often be unused in a lot of different games
3:31 default profiles leaving it up to you to bind additional options to this and
3:35 behind the steering wheel there's your left and right paddle shifters and up on
3:38 top you have a Playstation 3 or PlayStation 4 selector switch by the way
3:42 for PC select PlayStation 4 on the bottom of the steering wheel there are
3:45 cable routing holes for whatever accessories you may have and there are
3:49 arms that can grab onto most desk surfaces and hold it in place the metals
3:53 have an optional mini plastic spike thing that can drop out and grab onto
3:57 the carpet in order for it to not slide around as much if you're an advanced
4:01 user and have a gaming cockpit like the auto which you can see lus review here
4:06 there is standard kind of threaded bolt holes on both the bottom of the steering
4:10 wheel and the pedal Mount using this thing was pretty great it didn't
4:13 automatically work in every game that I tried but it picked up in Project CARS
4:17 immediately and it was a lot of fun to play with a good feeling comfortable
4:21 steering wheel with a fair amount of force feedback Logitech has done a
4:24 really good job with their profiles and game detection was a breeze when it
4:29 worked my only gripe was that I couldn't get dirt or grid to to detect the wheel
4:34 at all but that may be more their fault than logcs if you can I would definitely
4:38 recommend mounting both of these units to something pretty solid overall it was
4:42 fine but there were a few times where I would react to something a little
4:45 strongly and either caused the pedal unit to slide out or Tilted the whole
4:49 steering unit not 100% ideal but not bad
4:53 for something that took me about 2 minutes to set up in conclusion this
4:56 thing was a ton of fun but to jump back to the beginning of the video for a
4:59 second it's a lot like the G27 and at a
5:03 suggested retail price of $399 I think it would be hard pressed to
5:07 actually recommend someone replace their still perfectly fine G27 with this thing
5:12 unless they need it for compatibility reasons the price is pretty steep and
5:16 definitely the main detracting feature of this product and it's getting into
5:19 the level of competing with some extremely high-end racing wheels with
5:23 some pretty intense features from other brands so let me know what you guys
5:27 think in the comments down below speaking of looking good Dollar Shave
