0:00 the first thing i realized about the NVIDIA star wars titan graphics cards
0:06 is that they paired the jedi order with the galactic empire which is just
0:16 you know what though it's fine
0:20 i mean full points for effort at least
0:23 and honestly i barely even care anyway
0:27 hey thank you all for joining me um i understand that
0:31 NVIDIA probably had the best of intentions
0:34 the but there's one fundamental problem here and that is that
0:39 senator palpatine darth sidious whatever you want to call this apple these two
0:45 entities never actually oppose each other
0:48 directly which led me to my second realization
0:53 we had to make a video that showcased
0:56 these bad boys so this my friends is the mystic space
1:01 warrior knowledge cube build
1:09 the 20 liter moss pack features a built-in charging station cable
1:13 management pass-throughs and it's been recently updated to include a few little
1:17 improvements like better straps and a larger laptop pocket check it out at the
1:21 link below now with a warehouse full of computer
1:24 cases you would think that after spending hours searching we could find
1:29 something with the sheer moxie and space
1:32 age energy that we were looking for but alas it was for naught so we set out to
1:37 do something that we've surprisingly never done before here at LTT
1:43 design and build our very own case
1:47 from the ground up so setting out to design this thing we only had a few
1:51 rough guidelines in place we wanted it to look really cool
1:56 and alex has been itching to play with our new fabool laser co2 laser cutter
2:01 from smart diy so our design team immediately came up with some wild and
2:06 crazy ideas for complex polyhedrons and
2:10 ornate acrylic paneling that would fit our overall theme after all when it
2:15 comes to imagination the sky is the limit right
2:18 no actually the limit is something called international copyright law which is why
2:24 our decorative inscriptions are in klingon not aurabesh
2:29 so after much internal debate and many failed attempts
2:33 here's how our final design ended up coming together
2:37 or at least we wish it was that easy we constructed our
2:41 case from the bottom up which meant putting together a wooden frame now
2:46 wood isn't exactly a first choice material when it comes to computer cases
2:51 but we aren't quite ready to try our hands at fabricating a metal frame
2:55 yet so we attached wooden pillars to a small
2:58 sheet of mdf then we made holes for inserts for motherboard standoffs and a
3:03 much larger hole for the GPU next we needed a starter hole for the
3:09 GPU io then to get a nice clean cut we picked
3:13 up a brand new handsaw that totally ended up sucking so the
3:17 hole looks super ragged but since it's on the bottom of the case no one will
3:21 ever see it provided of course that there was nobody standing around with a
3:25 camera filming the whole thing the motherboard standoffs went in a lot
3:29 more smoothly and we elevated them on these big screws so we would have
3:33 somewhere to tuck our cables after putting on the motherboard and rog
3:37 strix z370i mini itx board we added our
3:41 CPU an Intel core i7 8700 six core
3:45 processor pretty much the best of the best for gaming right now and 16 gigs of ddr4 RAM
3:52 then for cooling our first choice was a be quiet! dark rock pro 3 tower cooler
3:57 but unfortunately even with low profile RAM we were unable to successfully mount
4:03 the tower so it looks like it's knocked to it to the
4:06 rescue now the center piece of this build is
4:09 our star wars titan xp graphics card so
4:13 we opted to give it a full frontal mount
4:17 which is not nearly as dirty as it sounds it just means that we used a pci
4:21 express extension to mount it in a vertical position front and center right
4:26 here now let's see how it might look
4:30 with some paneling
4:34 well luckily a hasty modification can rectify
4:38 that problem now we're not going to leave the frame
4:42 showing exposed wood so we also need to give the whole thing a quick coat of
4:46 paint then once we've got all the hardware loaded into our mark ii frame we can get
4:51 to the most important part of any kick-ass case build adding the RGB with
4:56 all the strips in place it's time to close it up
4:59 but first let's get a nice good look at just how awesome that setup is looking
5:05 as mentioned earlier we used our fabool laser cutter to create our
5:09 non-infringing designs and aside from a
5:12 few minor hiccups that process was relatively painless
5:16 so after another finishing touch and some decorative molding around the outside
5:22 yeah now we're looking good
5:56 hmm
6:29 once it was built though we had to put it through the paces
6:32 i mean you have a good idea based on the
6:36 hardware you put in of how something like this is going to perform but what's
6:40 the point of owning a rowboat if you never ride it
6:43 does one ride a rowboat not really the point anyway the thermals
6:47 aren't quite as good as we might expect from an nhd15 so it is a little toasty
6:52 in there but our core i7 8700k still
6:55 managed to turbo to 4 gigahertz on all 6
6:58 cores with temps in the mid 70s and gaming wise this thing is a beast
7:04 churning through even the latest aaa titles as you would expect a titan xp to
7:09 do and remember this is all in a case that
7:12 was really not made with thermals in mind so in the end
7:17 we love the results but we feel like in the future we've
7:21 still got a lot of work to do for as the
7:24 klingon proverb teaches
