0:00 all right so this will be the assus version of my BIOS upgrading guide so
0:05 I'm just going to show you the first step which is go to the ASUS website The
0:09 Next Step which is go to Services go to support so more accurately go to the
0:13 ASUS support website I'm going to search
0:16 by product name in this case I have a p67
0:24 deluxe going to go ahead and search for
0:28 that yeah it helps if you spell deluxe without an r at the end
0:32 Deluxe it's more deluxe than the other Deluxe there we go so
0:39 downloads well the OS that I have is Windows 7 64-bit which won't be relevant
0:44 at all but that's okay BIOS downloads here we go so there's the BIOS update
0:50 from April 1st hopefully it's not a joke
0:54 but apparently it improves system compatibility Neato all right so we're
0:59 going to go ahead and open that up all right so it's just a ROM file so I go
1:05 ahead and put my USB thumb drive into the back of the
1:11 computer in a USB
1:14 slot okay got that on there apparently I
1:17 accidentally hit my auto brightness button okay so now I just copy this into
1:23 the root of my Patriot
1:27 Drive four Megs this board uses an EFI
1:31 BIOS which means that it uses larger BIOS files cuz it has a graphical
1:35 interface and whatnot go ahead restart
1:38 the board so when I'm restarting I'm going
1:43 to press delete to get into the BIOS and
1:46 then actually this should go pretty quick so you guys can just stay with me
1:53 here that's me with my headphones holding my camera
1:58 hello please put something on the screen now
2:02 Mr computer oh and I missed it okay I'll be
2:07 back in a sec I'm going to press delete a little earlier so that I don't miss it
2:11 again just a moment there we go here I
2:14 am in the UI BIOS I'm going to go ahead and go into advanced mode because
2:19 apparently it is Advanced to upgrade your BIOS I'm going to go into tools I'm
2:24 going to go into the easy Flash 2 utility I'm going to see some graphical
2:29 artifacts on the screen here we are I'm going to find the
2:34 BIOS that I just downloaded at some point there it
2:40 is I'm going to re read this
2:48 file now my usual tips uh first of all
2:51 before upgrading your BIOS you should always make sure that you're running at
2:55 stock speeds on your motherboard so that you don't run into any issues with an
2:59 overclocking setting causing instability
3:03 which could cause a crash or Corruption of the data while you are flashing the
3:06 BIOS I also recommend that you um use a
3:10 UPS or some other device that will ensure that your system does not
3:15 accidentally power down while you're flashing the BIOS the reason for that is
3:19 if that happens it could also corrupt the data which could cause your board to
3:23 become bricked which is
3:26 bad still flashing uh once the bio flash
3:29 is complete it will likely reset all of your settings if you had any change so
3:33 you may need to reset your boot order or change any
3:39 um settings like whether you want to see your BIOS splash screen things like that
3:44 and that took a little while now it's finally done so I'll show you guys once
3:47 we get back into Windows how to confirm that the BIOS flash is complete so here
3:52 you go guys we'll just check under main board and CPU Z to see that yes we are
3:56 indeed running the latest BIOS on this board at this time actually I'm just
4:02 going to double check that really quick 1503 yep that's the right one so
4:09 while you may have noticed that the um
4:13 change log for this BIOS was pretty vag uh that's pretty normal so most
4:18 manufacturers don't recommend that you upgrade your BIOS unless you're experiencing some kind of problem with
4:22 your system but my comment to you would be that yes you should upgrade if you're
4:26 experiencing a problem with your system but don't worry about whether the
4:30 problem with your system is actually on the change log because they're usually
4:33 incomplete and vague so often times they
4:37 improve things that are not listed on the change log so now we're running the
4:41 latest spouse on this board thank you for checking out this episode of lus
