0:00 remember the good old days when your desktop was in your own room where it
0:04 could be as big and bright and loud as you wanted without anybody yelling at
0:08 you unfortunately for many of us
0:12 life is just not that simple anymore maybe you're in a dorm room or in a
0:17 studio apartment with no walls or maybe your wife just never lets up with that
0:23 computer is so ugly can't you just use a
0:26 laptop it doesn't go with our reimagined
0:30 boho aesthetic that's what she sounds like
0:34 anyway whatever the reason there are times when
0:37 it's beneficial for your gaming rig to be inconspicuous or have an air of
0:42 sophistication and if you like the karma jib then i'd
0:46 like to introduce you to the volta v
0:49 on the outside it's a mature piece for
0:53 your space but on the inside it's a
0:56 frame rate destroying beast
1:07 synergy allows you to share your mouse and keyboard between multiple computers
1:13 at once check it out now at the link in the video description
1:17 the volta v is a 15.6 liter complete
1:21 system from computer direct outlet whose custom designed enclosure is made of
1:26 domestically sourced selectively cut usa
1:29 walnut or if you're more into chao men than apple pie
1:33 bamboo in many ways it's a wonderful marriage
1:37 of form and function the uninterrupted facade makes it look completely at home
1:42 on your desk or entertainment center while the front i o on the side is still
1:48 easy to access the rest of the i o is at the back well actually in an effort to
1:54 streamline cable management most of the i o is actually inside the box and we
2:00 access it simply by lifting off the magnetically held lid no tools required
2:05 not all of it though is that easy to get at due to the 92 millimeter rear cooling
2:10 fan with that said inside we've got an entire motherboard's worth of
2:14 connections our asrock z270m itxac is
2:19 equipped with dual gigabit lan ports six usb three five gig ports no type c
2:24 though onboard ac wi-fi and three video
2:27 outputs but you won't need those because there's an HDMI port and three display
2:32 port ports on the back of the what gtx 1080 ti
2:38 very nice so what else is in here while there are a ton of options on cdo's site
2:44 our unit has a core i7 7700k kb lake
2:48 chilled by a 92 millimeter ace attack all-in-one liquid cooler with 16 gigs of
2:52 ddr4 RAM and a 512 gig samsung 960 pro
2:56 m.2 SSD power is taken care of by a 600 watt sfx
3:01 power supply from Corsair with custom length cables to keep everything nice
3:05 and tidy inside which is a nice touch because even with a few questionable
3:10 decisions like the friction mount for the radiator it looks and feels as
3:16 classy and premium inside as it does out
3:20 it's little things like the shielded PCIe riser and quiet and efficient
3:25 Noctua fans which brings us to thermals air is drawn
3:29 in through these easy to clean nylon dust filters then it's exhausted out the
3:35 back end in three discrete cooling zones for the power supply
3:39 GPU and everything else and even with all of
3:43 those high performance parts inside there was no smoke
3:47 and no thermal throttling though i will admit that after running synthetic
3:52 benchmarks for a while the room did smell a little woody
3:56 it even stayed impressively quiet though at idle it's barely louder than the
4:00 noise floor in our office and while it does of course get louder under load it
4:05 never screamed like some small form factor systems do bottom line then
4:10 the volta v can make short work of your favorite games without causing a code
4:14 red even if it's sitting on your desk just a few centimeters away and that's a fine
4:19 spot to put it since it's designed to support your monitor on top of hide your
4:23 keyboard underneath that is unless you have a mechanical keyboard which brings
4:27 us to the voltavi's shortcomings the biggest one being the feet
4:32 our unit is missing one and the ones that we do have simply roll off whenever
4:37 you slide them across the very desk they're meant to protect
4:40 so i give them an f-plus furthermore some of the unsanded surfaces and the
4:46 roughly cut emi shielding leave the volta v feeling less finished than you'd
4:51 expect a fine piece of furniture to be the lack of anything resembling a
4:55 deliberate alignment on this end of the case makes my ocd flare up something
5:00 fierce and finally there are some problems with
5:03 what designers call affordance this recess for example seems to imply
5:08 that i should lift from this side but actually i'm required to lift from
5:12 here where there is no recess and to me the protruding front piece
5:17 looks like a drawer that i should pull on but it doesn't open these might sound
5:22 like nitpicky things but considering the cost of this case i have to mention them
5:28 our config here came to 3409.
5:32 which means that after custom power supply cables air filters and a pci
5:36 express extender we are still well over a thousand dollars for the lifetime
5:41 service warranty and the chassis so is that worth your money
5:46 well depending on what kind of furniture stores you shop in it'll either look
5:50 like a rip-off or a bargain so i will leave that up to
5:54 you and focus on the stuff that we can quantify
5:58 the volta v gets the thermals and noise right and is easily serviceable and
6:03 upgradable all while looking subjectively gorgeous the only trick
6:07 then is getting some furniture budget allocated to it without also giving up
6:12 some of the boy toy budget synergy is a software download that
6:17 solves once and for all the problem of having multiple computers
6:20 and multiple keyboards and mouse connected to them so you have to like
6:24 physically move if you want to go between them you got to remember which one goes to which it's a nightmare it
6:29 allows you to share one mouse and one keyboard between two or more computers
6:35 over the network so you'll no longer confuse which one goes to which and the
6:40 best part is it works cross-platform so
6:43 you can have your Windows station for gaming and your mac station for
6:47 productivity and your Linux station and you can just drag the mouse across the
6:51 screens seamlessly they've got features like clipboard
6:55 sharing between the computers drag and dropping files between computers the
6:58 ability to set up hotkeys and more so check out their basic and pro options
7:04 and save 50 on synergy at the link in the video description
7:09 so thanks for watching guys if this video sucked you know what to do but if it was awesome get subscribed hit that
