0:02 hey how's it going it's Friday TGI
0:06 Friday I'm out of water so welcome to the cars you're out
0:13 of cars cuz you had a supply of cars
0:17 before and now you don't and water can
0:21 you see I'm I'm out of crime man there's
0:24 there's no more crime in this town it's not an issue when I throw things on the
0:27 ground cuz I'll clean them up yeah your crime came back that's what happens with
0:31 crime you lock up crime and the crime
0:34 comes back because it doesn't pay and if
0:38 it doesn't pay it can't afford the rent where you sent it oh so oh so it has to
0:43 come home yes it's like living back in your parents basement yes all the
0:47 criminals are like man like we we tried to leave and then we weren't very like
0:52 successful so we came back just tell them to like steal better stuff next
0:56 time yeah yeah they need training need crime train like you know can you can
1:02 you can you imagine like I mean there surely people must learn crime somehow
1:08 like crime school yeah like crime school like I mean obviously not in North
1:13 America or like anywhere with a government that's paying attention at
1:17 all but like can you imagine like an actual crime School opening up a crime
1:21 School in like you know middle of Africa
1:25 somewhere yeah where it's like okay and
1:28 and and like it the like actually not have it be like child soldiers like like
1:32 like actually have it be like like just yeah we're just going to teach you how to do the things like a popup ad in your
1:37 browser that's like for only you know
1:40 $5,000 will help you make however much a day through a life of crime and they it
1:46 actually includes like a legitimate plane ticket you go there there's classes there's there's practical B
1:51 cutter yeah bold cutter well no no cuz there there's a lot more than that like
1:55 there's a lot of like tricks of the trade like when we had a lot of the
1:58 security done on this place they're like yeah this is what they do and this is what they do and this is what they do
2:01 and I'm sitting here going how do they all know how to do this well crime school maybe you and I
2:09 are just smart enough that we never clicked the link maybe this woman is making $10,000
2:16 a week in Canada is actually crime school maybe it's crime School crime
2:19 school yeah wow but not the crime School in Canada the people come back to Canada
2:24 with criminal knowledge oh okay but you
2:27 can advertise to people currently in Canada yeah because I mean it's it's
2:31 like it's it's sketchy advertising sketchy sites you know where you see
2:35 those kinds of things I mean obviously you know lineus Tech tips.com is not
2:38 going to have crime School banner ads no and if we did you know we' charge a lot
2:42 for them so there'd be a good justification for them to be there yeah
2:47 yeah we should probably one of our guys went to marketing
2:50 school which is maybe not that different
2:54 from crime school be pretty Sim we also have someone who went to law school not
2:57 that different from crime School in fact AR a lot about crime pretty much the
3:02 same yeah I mean so maybe so maybe the
3:06 school of school are crime schools
3:09 yes Police Academy is crime school yes
3:14 the police okay so the Law Academy is like metaphysical crime school and the
3:18 police academy is like quite definitely physical CRI practical practical
3:22 application CRI so it's like Theory versus practical yeah BCIT versus UVC
3:27 well I think they both have they both have the opposite as well because in law
3:32 you'll have some practical training like how to write a letter essay enable a
3:38 crime to be committed and not be punished right and same in same in
3:42 Police Academy they're going to have like they're going to have theoretical
3:46 studies as well yeah yeah y that totally
3:50 makes sense I get it it's just like what one you want your strength to be in yeah
3:53 so I mean you do get an allaround either way yeah we still have I mean if you
3:58 went to Super formal crime School super criminal school that would be both law
4:03 school and police academy and maybe like get a degree in both and maybe like some
4:07 programming mix in super criminal school
4:10 yeah networking stuff yeah yeah yeah that makes sense basic scripting I mean
4:14 that's the only difference between you know the so-called first world and the
4:19 rest of the world is that naming it's it's it's all spin yeah it's spin people
4:25 are probably wondering what the hell show it is that they're watching um this
4:28 the show it is the W show we are going to actually have a show at some point
4:31 today sometimes the sometimes unrecognizable the unapologetically
4:35 unrecognizable wanch so uh this week we've got some uh call out topics uh
4:41 Hulk Hogan might have single-handedly
4:44 taken out both his friendship and Gawker
4:48 media actually if I remember correctly like his friend was cool with it
4:54 oh I don't know if that story is true um there's a grocery store in Sweden with
4:58 no staff none none at all AMD
5:03 made announcements many announcements
5:06 lots of them also Oculus has 30 VR games
5:10 that'll be ready at launch oh hi well I'm just trying to Center the heads on
5:14 the table let's just roll the
5:28 intro
5:40 what the crap oh
5:45 crap there hold on I got
5:50 this oo deep dive
5:54 sessions oh dang it
5:58 CL Squarespace uh you
6:04 should you should no no you have you
6:07 should do what build it beautiful but that's not
6:12 their current do we care no not
6:19 really um all right guys so we've got a
6:24 pretty uh pretty good pretty good show for you guys today I hope that was
6:28 definitely not pre to Crime school yeah that was not that it contains none of
6:33 our knowledge from crime school cuz quite frankly if you're going to go to
6:36 Crime school you're going to have to pay for tuition that's how School works okay
6:42 yep crime School tuition yep it's like
6:45 uh it's like can I mean can you imagine
6:48 the invoice they sent you like I would double check
6:51 that invoice from criminals extra zero
6:54 here there extra zero give give us your credit card trust us it's okay and then
6:59 if you if you pay for you know what that's probably the final exam if you
7:03 pay for Crime School you fail you
7:06 fail you have to find some way to not
7:09 pay and then they just have to make the tuition insane so the people that do pay
7:13 end up paying for everyone else yeah and and I mean you know not every criminal
7:18 is the most brilliant person on the face of the Earth so you got to imagine that
7:21 some of the people who fail their final exam probably pay to try again y so they
7:26 can subsidize the people who are passing oh definitely and not paying
7:30 yeah I like it okay strong business
7:33 model so you know you have a much more
7:36 interesting story about this than I do this was originally posted by Chi CH
7:40 Chev BHD on the Forum I'm just going to pull up the original article here from a
7:44 NCH and posted in the good old twitch
7:48 chatam maroon here we go AMD to Showcase
7:52 latest Innovation okay well this is just the general coverage dang it where's the
7:56 uh there's an RS technical article about it if you go back to the
8:00 thing bleeding heck sir bleeding heck
8:05 indeed in crime school they tell they teach you how to say cool things like
8:09 bleeding heck sulon Q hold on I'm just going to throw this in the twitch chat
8:13 so you guys can check that ah all right
8:17 AMD powered sulan Q is like wearing a VR
8:20 capable Windows PC on your head can you
8:24 tell me a little bit about your experience with this when was it that's
8:28 important it was a little bit ago it wasn't this year so I believe it was CES
8:32 2015 okay I'm pretty sure it was CES 2015 um there was the suon cortex uh we
8:39 figured out that they were on the floor but we never covered it no but we really
8:44 tried um we super duper tried Brandon's walking way over there Brandon
8:48 definitely remembers hey Brandon remember the sulon
8:51 cortex terrible yeah he just said it was terrible that's basically the conclusion
8:56 here okay um when I saw this headline AMD announc sulon Q I did multiple
9:01 double takes which actually equals something that isn't a double take I did
9:04 like a quadruple or whatever the six version would equal but I like had I
9:09 checked
9:12 multip uh you can find out what he wants sure he doesn't usually do that unless
9:16 it's a problem hello mape one of our Forum
9:23 moderators when you're screen sharing there's really really loud chirping and
9:28 it's quite painful chirping fantastic we had problems
9:32 screen sharing last week too so I don't know what's going on thanks M thanks M
9:37 okay by okay well I'll uh I'll attempt
9:40 to diagnose that in the background here so carry on anyways so yeah so it was at
9:46 that point in time called the sulon cortex I can tell you right now it's
9:49 changed a lot um even just the specs are way improved uh we don't know the
9:54 battery life all that kind of stuff but it has a built-in 256 GB SSD for compute
9:59 cores eight cores unlocked through heterogeneous system architecture it has
10:04 a four core FX 8800p processor OC to around 3.4 GHz
10:09 runs Windows 10 has an R7 graphics card
10:13 no information other than that um yeah so the specs have taken a big jump
10:18 upwards that might have something to do with AMD theoretically like acquiring
10:23 them um it's it just says with Toronto
10:26 based startup suon Technologies this is another Toronto startup that I was super
10:30 excited for and then was super let down by the the watch was one of those as
10:35 well right but basically what happened was we went there I was super excited
10:39 that suon cortex was at CES because I had seen and heard tons of stuff about
10:42 them it was supposed to be this awesome experience they had cameras on the front
10:46 of the headset so you could do like augmented reality stuff but then it was
10:49 completely tether free because it's all in the headset super cool Brandon and I
10:54 went to go check it out almost first thing CES 2015 it
11:00 like I'm comfortable saying literally didn't work at all um yeah so we were
11:06 like can we come back and they encouraged that so we went back later
11:10 still didn't work did that again went back later still didn't work I think we
11:13 did it one more time went back was able to fight our way through two demos that
11:19 were both gratuitously horrible so I didn't end up releasing a video about it
11:23 because I didn't think the communication to the audience would have been worth
11:27 them watching
11:30 um and now AMD has announced iteration
11:35 two I guess called The sulon Q so
11:40 hopefully it's good okay that's basically hopefully
11:46 it's good that's all you have to say I'm I'm really like the specs look
11:51 way better if AMD can pull those specs off it could be sweet I mean all they're
11:57 saying is Radeon R7 graphics card card which tells us absolutely nothing
12:02 basically I mean you could call anything an R7 graphics card it could be a
12:06 240 that's true it could be a 240 it could it could literally be not much
12:11 more powerful than like a high-end
12:15 tablet um I don't know what I'm
12:19 hopeful here's okay so but but this is another thing this seems like the wrong
12:23 direction for AMD to go in yeah and there's another thing that I don't really understand about this product did
12:28 you watch the video um no I actually didn't oh that won't help you understand
12:32 things they spend the entire video just saying
12:36 first okay it might be really loud chirping noises if nope I fixed it okay
12:40 um I haven't used this capture card in a long time because I was having some
12:44 issues with it um but the new driver fixed some issues but didn't fix the
12:47 issues that it seems to be my laptop having I think I need to update my sound drivers because I was trying to stream
12:51 from my laptop yesterday and I was having issues with that too oh my God
12:55 what is this my dad texted me so I thought it was important because it's during the show he just text him you
12:59 just wanted to say You're a Noob your dad's Awesome by the way thanks Dad I I
13:04 like your dad he's a cool guy what what is this yeah it's uh really really
13:09 really closeup shots of the headset there you go that's the headset so the
13:12 compute unit I think is partially on the back or entirely on the back so
13:16 basically it's gear VR but
13:23 bulky I mean it's
13:27 prob I and and and it won't be running
13:31 experiences that are tailored for a lightweight for lightweight Hardware
13:35 like an operating systems like Android it'll be running full fat Windows
13:42 10 with VR experiences that are like I
13:46 it's all about when you want to adopt something you want to adopt the same one
13:52 that everyone else is adopting to have at least some chance of ongoing support
13:57 from third parties because it's simple
14:01 business if I'm a third party making a piece of software a PC VR experience am
14:07 I going to Target the HTC Vive which sold what was it 15,000 units within 10
14:12 minutes or something absur just completely obscene like looks amazing
14:16 and looks awesome or would I go after the Oculus Rift which is the just you
14:21 know favorite favorite nephew of the
14:25 entire industry um where both
14:29 amaz the touch controllers come up where both of those companies are saying yep
14:33 you're going to need a super powerful PC in order to have the experiences that we
14:37 expect you to have on our headset or you going to Target this thing which who's
14:42 going to buy like who's going to buy this so like you and the other 16 people
14:46 who buy it are going to expect a software developer to make an experience
14:51 for this that's going to be good I genuinely don't know if I will and I know that might be kind of surprising
14:55 cuz I I basically said I'm going to buy like all them buy it um you were
14:59 considering it no well you said you and the other so like I'm not oh no yeah I
15:04 mean I'm not the main reason why I didn't release a video I've released
15:07 videos from shows and I've released videos from around the office where I
15:12 tear things apart before I could have done that again the reason why I didn't
15:15 was cuz I didn't want this thing to get press I've been actively worried it was
15:21 it was bad I've been actively worried the entire time since dk1 was announced
15:27 that I I don't really want bad press about bad products around VR right if
15:32 there's if there's bad press about the Vive or if there's bad press about the
15:37 rift maybe they deserved that I don't know what it would have been there's
15:40 been pretty good press about both of them so I don't I don't I'm not saying anything I just like if they're happen
15:45 to be for whatever reason um then they
15:48 need to get their act together and keep on moving up and they can fix it and then they can keep going both of those
15:52 headsets and the gear VR to a lesser degree are doing a good job of showing
15:57 like this is what VR can be right actually uh Vive especially has
16:03 shown off that like this can be for a wider audience yeah you can walk around
16:08 and explore Everest you can do all these like super cool things like awesome you
16:12 guys are doing great I want to talk about that so that people hear it and
16:16 get excited I don't want to talk about you don't want to talk about how long an
16:19 fx8800p processor overclocked to 3.4
16:22 gahz is going to run on battery when it's strapped to your head
16:26 yeah like actually specifically I don't
16:29 really can you imagine how warm that would be between the headset across the
16:34 front of your face and a computer taped to the back of it wait for a second yeah
16:40 I mean did they even say anything about weight no no weight or battery no weight
16:44 or battery spe um that thing is not big
16:48 enough to have a decent battery and it is too big to be
16:53 light but then you know here's something
16:56 though I don't know what an fx 8800p is
17:00 does anyone know what an fx8800p is I've never heard of that fx8800p this is a
17:05 notebook processor I didn't even know notebook processors I think the r
17:11 sbit okay so what is what is it integrated so is some kind of like Apu
17:16 or something like that by the look of things so let's just let's just have a
17:19 quick let's have a quick look at what Gander over here products. AMD.com page
17:24 has on it man their site is slow okay uh
17:29 just super excited for the suon Q
17:33 specific why am I on the French page well whatever okay uh
17:39 F uh op o
17:44 op yeah okay total cash L2 I I love I
17:48 love how French just gets butchered when it comes to technical terms a lot of
17:53 languages do yeah um okay
17:57 yeah PCI Express okay okay so four Hearts um 8
18:06 GPU course so here their course here their
18:12 curse uh AMD you don't get to do this you
18:17 don't just get to add up CPU and GPU cores and just be like yeah it has 12
18:21 cores uh four threads it's kind of 12 to
18:25 course uh okay 3.4 GHz is not overclocked so
18:30 the article seems to have missed that that is a max turbo and it is a 15 watt
18:35 TDP processor okay so we're not talking about necessarily like a a like a tablet
18:42 processor but it's it's definitely a notebook processor it's one that I've
18:45 never seen in a laptop 800 MHz R7 wow they're not even saying like how many
18:50 stream processors it has or anything like that so this is some this is some
18:54 underpowered nonsense so what this means to me then anyway is if we're looking at
18:59 a 28 nanom AMD chip with four cores um
19:03 maybe this just isn't about gaming at all then maybe this was the first VR
19:08 experience that I wanted to quit
19:13 oh I mean they're talking about you know
19:16 the the uh the the the virtual mapping of the environment around okay not this
19:21 the sulon cortex was yeah right I have not tried the que I have no idea what
19:25 the experience is like I can guess
19:29 why would you even need wireless keyboard and mouse support what would
19:33 you do with a keyboard and mouse with this thing strapped to your head I can't
19:36 think of a reason to have a things how does it have wireless keyboard and mouse
19:40 support I don't know well Bluetooth I guess but like why would you ever care
19:46 why okay fine we're done um let's let's
19:51 pull up the Anon Tech article that are you copying that into twitch chat yeah
19:55 uh let's pull up the Anon article that should have some no this this article is
20:00 not an article this is just a link to an investor relations page and their
20:04 webcast announcement page so way to go
20:08 Colton um okay let's talk GP road map so
20:12 yeah original article here is from PC perspective PC pair yeah go Mr Shrout
20:17 actually John walth but you know whatever Mr Shrout gets at least some of
20:21 the did I say did I say John oh sorry
20:24 sorry I still had the Hulk Hogan story on the mind we'll talk more about that
20:28 later um so some hints at what comes next I
20:32 love these GPU architecture road map
20:35 slides because they're just so completely meaningless yeah a okay so a
20:43 it's gazing into the crystal ball which hasn't actually worked out very well for
20:48 us over the last uh two to three years where we've been like looking at these
20:53 like great slides of like how much better gpus are going to be but then you
20:57 have to read the f print too because the thing that they're telling you doesn't
21:01 necessarily even have a whole lot to do with what you would want to know this is
21:05 a performance per watt graph which is like it could
21:10 potentially even get worse in terms of
21:14 I'm not saying it it is came out and said that yeah well like like our CPUs
21:19 could get worse yeah like theoretically the performance could go down if the
21:24 wattage used goes way down that graph is
21:27 still possible then that comes up with and then we end up with like a really
21:30 like super like awesome looking graph so
21:33 Polaris is 2 and 1/2x performance per watt so what we're sort of hoping for I
21:39 guess is between sometime in 2016 we're
21:44 going to get that and we are going to see maybe similar power draw or
21:48 hopefully a little bit less maybe a little bit less power draw than current
21:52 AMD top tier cards and maybe about hey 1
21:55 and a half to 2x the performance and then Vega is like even like way better
22:02 sort ofish about as much better again three times or really features hbm 2 yeah
22:08 maybe actually yeah it's actually not that much not that much different it just it looks more impressive because
22:14 nothing happened between the end of 2014 and the middle of
22:18 2016 literally nothing happened on the AMD side of things um so Vega is looking
22:23 like another similar Improvement and then they're like oh yeah it's going to take a little bit longer and then we're
22:27 going to have na'vi sort of later
22:30 okay cool uh what else we got
22:35 here why can't I why why can't I move
22:39 over what's wrong with your thing there we go oh hbm 1 is limited in the next
22:44 gen Parts okay so that's some more news out of AMD that I guess is is
22:49 fascinating um I guess we we already
22:53 kind of knew this the word on the street is that NVIDIA's Flagship at least to
22:57 start with Pascal which is not big Pascal that's going to be the next step
23:01 down Pascal is going to be using gddr5x um so it's probably just one of
23:06 those things where NVIDIA would have maybe loved to use hbm but because
23:11 they're moving a much higher volume of Parts than AMD there may simply not be
23:15 enough hbm for AMD let alone for someone
23:20 like NVIDIA to come in and put it on yeah you know a hot selling skew like a
23:24 replacement for something like the GTX 970 um what else we got here AMD
23:31 announces the absolutely most powerful
23:35 graphics card in the world so our
23:38 original article here is from legit reviews and this my friends is the radon
23:46 Pro Duo it features three PCI Express 8 Pin
23:55 power connectors wow woo W it features liquid
24:02 cooling which is probably smart and it features pretty much two R9 Furies on a
24:09 single card pretty impressive so having
24:13 a look at some fire strike numbers here it is uh you know definitely faster than
24:19 an R9 295x2 it is definitely faster than a GTX
24:25 Titan Z which is the last dual G puu card that NVIDIA released um total total
24:32 flop the Titan Z was they didn't even bother to redo a a Titan a dual GPU card
24:38 for the flagship GPU of this generation
24:41 and uh yeah so it has it has definitely
24:45 taken back you know if 3D Mark scores
24:48 are something to sort of go on it is definitely taken back the most powerful
24:53 graphics card award for AMD we don't know if getting one I have
24:59 been in touch um they had said they wanted to give us a briefing before
25:03 talking about sampling so I I actually cced you and John on the email because
25:09 you guys would probably be the ones to to get briefed on it when did you do
25:14 this earlier this week when was The Briefing uh well no
25:20 they never replied so they haven't actually they
25:23 haven't actually sent any information about the briefing so hopefully that's coming soon think I saw this email yeah
25:28 hopefully we will uh we will get some kind of coverage for you guys um it the
25:34 card has a combined 8 gigs of hbm memory so we are seeing
25:39 um I guess GTX 690 Syndrome again where
25:45 like yeah okay it's like really powerful but the problem with the 690 is that
25:49 because it only had 2 gigs of RAM per GPU that was effectively 2 gigs of RAM
25:57 so whether it's hbm allocation or
26:00 whether it's the complexity of adding more of it to the board AMD is limited
26:06 to 4 gigs of hbm memory per core which
26:11 is effectively 4 gigs for the entire system because the way that Crossfire
26:14 and SLI work at this time is that they are not able to just go okay well each
26:19 GPU has 4 gigs so now we've got 8 gigs total um
26:24 making you know and responded making
26:27 other cards of similar power that come out in the future whether they are based
26:32 on Pascal or whether they're based on Polaris probably make more sense to wait
26:38 for I'm not a huge fan of dual GPU cards
26:42 and there are a wide variety of reasons for that not the least of which is the
26:47 fact that the drivers for them it comes down to what I was talking about before
26:51 you are better off investing in something that more people are going to
26:54 buy because it puts more pressure on the manufacturer to fix it if there's a
26:59 problem so we had an issue in scrapyard Wars 3 where Austin's system because he
27:04 had uh what was it 295x2 wasn't it no no
27:08 it was uh it was a 6990 oh yeah had a
27:11 6990 yeah not yeah couldn't run PC mark
27:15 because there is no way in AMD's on
27:18 AMD's Dual GPU cards so single card dual
27:21 GPU to disable
27:24 Crossfire there were some guides we found and there were some people
27:27 suggesting that there were ways to do it but we did not successfully disable
27:33 Crossfire because even though you can do it when you've got two cards in one
27:36 system you just no you just can't and it
27:40 it felt like because you were supposed to do it on like an application based
27:44 level in order to disable Crossfire like was like some weird tool yeah there
27:48 didn't seem to be any well it's not that weird it's pretty common tool but anyways it does other stuff that's why
27:52 it wasn't the AMD driver which means it's not good enough okay yeah that's
27:56 true U I'm not going to argue that it is a relatively common tool though anyways
28:01 um so you're supposed to disable it on an application based level you don't
28:04 just turn off Crossfire at all and let your computer see two individual
28:08 separate gpus which I kind of get which
28:11 PCI Express is complicated it's not simple yeah that's fair so having a
28:14 single interface like okay but then I guess it didn't pick up the application
28:19 properly or the application wasn't reporting properly or something I don't know what was going on but it just
28:22 wasn't working and was going straight Crossfire right into the application so it was like okay nothing else we can
28:27 really do um so yeah I would recommend whether
28:31 you're on the uh red team or the green team I would wait for a single GPU card
28:36 that is going to not only deliver probably very similar performance but
28:41 sort what EO echo echo echo for what I don't know
28:47 apparently there's an echo I have literally not touched the
28:52 computer so why is this
28:57 happening Everything is
29:00 awesome everything is cool when you're on the W show everything is
29:06 awesome when you Echo EO oh that was
29:10 pretty good I wonder how many Echoes they're going to hear of you saying that
29:14 Echo yeah um got some people say if we
29:18 Echo ourselves this is good enough what if we Echo ourselves what if we Echo
29:21 each other what if we Echo each other each
29:24 other each other each other each other other each other um people are like you
29:29 unplugged something no I didn't my my hands have been my my hands
29:34 have been visible the whole time you actually didn't if I unplugged anything
29:38 it was uh it was definitely in my pants so okay let's go ahead and move on to
29:43 our next topic Polaris 11 running 4K VR
29:47 content pictured few Polaris 10 details
29:50 so uh Ryan Shrout tweeted I did get to
29:53 see AMD's Polaris 11 GPU running
29:57 passively while playing back 4K VR
30:00 content last night pretty
30:04 impressive d d d for Polaris 10 the
30:08 sample used during their event had five display outputs three DisplayPort
30:14 1.3s 8K 8K HDMI 2.0 finally thank you
30:20 AMD and DVID dual link although it still
30:24 bothers me that AMD has removed VGA output from their cards entirely I don't
30:29 remember why but it inconvenienced me not that long ago when I was stuck with
30:34 VGA and I had an AMD card and I was like a
30:38 crap cannot do according to VR world the
30:41 PCB of the Polaris 10 engineering sample was not much bigger than the R9 Nano so
30:47 AMD has taking this whole yep we are serious about improving efficiency and
30:52 reducing the size let's see if we have a picture well the Nano is a damn cool
30:55 card so like I don't blame them for going that direction and if you're
30:59 running hbm memory you don't have to have all those traces and all that
31:02 additional PCB complexity so you might as well simplify things and improve
31:07 compatibility with smaller cases while you're at it now with that said what we
31:12 have observed about the R9 Nano is there aren't really a whole lot of cases that
31:16 can handle The Thermals but are not designed for a larger 10 and 1 12 in
31:20 sort of NVIDIA reference card these days but if AMD keeps this up some problems
31:25 with the bomb maybe we'll see that change well
31:28 I think the problems with the bomb were as much operator error as anything else
31:33 he that was mean I thought it was cool
31:36 hey it's not like you don't go after me about the servers
31:39 periodically frequently it's fair game frequently like quite frequently so uh
31:45 to be fair I think the servers have more problems than the bomb did had enough of
31:48 had enough of your crap so uh yeah want
31:52 to talk about the crazy knck um the like absolutely insane knck
31:57 yeah let's talk talk about the knck so this was originally posted on the Forum
32:01 by Alex Goes High have you already posted the PC all right let's do it
32:06 meet the new Intel skull Trail knck
32:11 changing the game no no this is this is a reference
32:15 to a demo that Intel did I think I think
32:19 this is a reference to a demo that Intel did back at CES 2015 where they had a
32:25 skull trail system and they were showing a skull trail system accelerating a demo
32:32 where you could zoom in and zoom out of this like really cool photo manager that
32:36 like in real time was resizing pictures as you moved in and out of it and then
32:40 they also had a knck running that demo
32:43 at the same speed now that's not because the knck had the same CPU performance
32:50 but because the skull Trail was running
32:53 purely on CPU and the knck was GPU
32:56 accelerating it and it was a demo of how
32:59 the change in the way that we have and the way that Intel has approached and
33:03 the industry as a whole actually but the way that Intel has approached uh
33:07 improving computer power has allowed new
33:10 experiences with much lower power consumption it was I love that logo I
33:15 yeah I know I've never looked at a nck and be like that looks sick so this is
33:19 the actual device so tell us about it
33:22 then I you're just staring at it you're just
33:27 you're it looks nice you're just a gape it has an i76700 HQ processor with a 45
33:33 wat TDP holy crap like real deal kids I wasn't sure
33:38 if I cared when I saw a nuck because I don't really care about nucks and then I
33:41 read that like got two slots you know whatever Intel Iris Pro Graphics 580
33:46 which you probably could have discerned um Thunderbolt 3 40 GB per second with
33:51 USB 3.1 and uh DisplayPort 1.2 over USBC
33:56 holy crap that's badass War for ddr4 memory up to 32 gigs at some speed which
34:02 probably doesn't matter but is 2133 um full siiz HDMI 2.0 Port so he's
34:07 going to be happy again um Intel dual band wireless AC HDMI 2.0 is kind of a
34:12 big deal just saying it is I know I know I know I was just saying like
34:15 specifically I know I'm not saying everyone should be happy I'm not saying
34:19 they aren't know SD card slot that's
34:22 good that's good to have hey I I like the SD card slot standard like audio G
34:28 land stuff like that infrared sensor so that could actually be kind of cool
34:31 people could do some stuff with that this is like one BA little machine it
34:35 ships with two lids one with the skull logo which you should probably use and
34:39 one with a plain matte black which is a good idea for them to include also matte
34:43 black to it's really funny talking to Intel people and I hope I'm not like
34:48 saying something that I you know someone told me that in confidence or anything I
34:52 don't think so but talking to Intel people about how Ed G putting a skull on
34:59 something is internally at Intel meanwhile it's like skulls are so p a
35:05 man like when was that even edgy like
35:09 like we're talking like no fear clothing
35:13 like yeah putting evil eyes on things is like
35:17 edgy Intel you're like stuck in the 90s
35:21 on the one hand and it's not even like a bone style it's like this cool like uh
35:27 St it looks like looks like a circuit board
35:30 like it's very int so on the one hand you're this like forward look like
35:35 working on crap that you and I won't touch for 10 to 20 years company and on
35:40 the other hand you can't figure out that a skull is not edgy anymore sure about
35:44 skulls yeah maybe it's maybe it's you
35:47 know two we might scare the children
35:50 make sure you ship it with a matte black cover as well yeah you know just in case
35:55 uh because we're too afraid of skull something um so now to be clear it's not
36:02 as small as your grandpa's nuck it's
36:05 it's a 69 liter though which is like
36:09 pretty damn small so it's still small so you know like a quart of milk for the
36:12 Americans or a liter of milk for the non-americans it's still only about 70%
36:18 of that which which is not that small so it's about it's pretty small though 20
36:21 cm long about 8 in long I'm I'm doing rough math I know that's not quite right
36:26 um by 11 cm wide by 23 mm so only about
36:31 an inch thick so it is very very small
36:35 pretty darn high powerered and still not
36:38 good enough to run a VR experience and be strapped to the back of my
36:47 head what w oh my God shots fired I did
36:51 not expect that I was not prepared for that that was good that was that was
36:56 good um you could do is you know like
36:59 this doesn't work don't worry I know it doesn't work it's okay you could get one
37:03 of these and then get one of those like external graphics card encloses just
37:06 hang the whole thing it actually could work how how could you hook it up to
37:10 this uh Thunderbolt it's got Thunderbolt
37:13 Yo No but wouldn't that be CU then you could go out oh that could oh that could
37:17 we have to do that now tot no because cuz in my head I saw
37:22 one output but then you just go to the graphics card and go from the graphics card to the how long do you think
37:28 okay how long do you think you I didn't
37:31 think that was going to work how long do you think you could carry like an APC
37:35 UPS around on your back in the backpack
37:38 I'll do it if we could run one of these
37:41 nucks with like a razor core okay so
37:46 like with like a GTX 980 stupidest thing
37:49 cuz we could just do a laptop oh but
37:52 that's so mainstream that is way too mainstream
37:57 not CR enough for L yeah no no no no no no I'm down I'll like specifically work
38:01 out for we would like we would have to like we would have to actually get like
38:05 like a metal framed hiking backpack y I have one no but we'd have to butcher it
38:10 we should go to like we should go to like like a swap yeah yeah like like
38:14 like SE play what what is that re sports replay or like like a secondhand
38:19 equipment store cuz all we really want is the is the metal frame and then we
38:23 would have to basically find a way to get like some kind of a PS on there to
38:28 power the graphics card and the knck and you'd only be able to play for probably
38:31 like 9 Minutes like I hope you know that already cuz the battery yeah yeah okay
38:36 cuz like that kind of a graphics card sucking back like a couple hundred Watts
38:40 like no ups that you can physically carry is designed to run for longer than
38:45 like you know 10 to 15 maybe 20 minutes
38:50 but that would be
38:53 bananes does HTC and Val do HTC and
38:57 valve intend to have like lighthouses on
39:01 steroids what do you mean do you know what do you mean like Lighthouse units
39:05 but like on steroids so you could you
39:08 know they're lighthouses right yeah but I don't understand the on steroids on
39:11 steroids is like if we had an empty Warehouse say for example putting it in
39:16 the corners of it oh I mean
39:22 theoretically they they have the playbox dimensions
39:26 like no so we'll have to wait for a new
39:32 generation of UPS batteries that is much
39:35 lighter and a new generation of we should attach like a wire frame around
39:41 my waist and have like big long wire arms go out that hold the
39:47 lighthouses now that's just dumb oh I it was a great idea up until then what a
39:51 dick what a dick we could also just like have a helmet with a pole going out on
39:56 it and then hang uh an Oculus one or a
39:59 Mac Pro so you could selfie your VR
40:03 experience the Mac Pro is just for selfies did you see that did you not see
40:08 the Mac Pro selfie stick someone did it as like oh no I didn't see that okay
40:12 yeah yeah people like WTF Luke this used to
40:16 be a Dennis stream we need to bring back Dennis I
40:21 tried last time it didn't really work that well people someone's like worst
40:25 worst W show ever so not worst but it is
40:29 worse worst W show ever so as long as it's not the best best then technically
40:33 it is the worse the worst W show but is it best or best uh I don't know but what
40:39 I do know is that the longer we make fun of the grammar and spelling of our
40:44 audience the closer we're getting to it being the worst W show
40:48 ever um speaking of worst W show ever why don't we talk about the sponsors of
40:52 today's W show yeah dollarshaveclub.com proud sponsor the
40:57 worst W show ever so if you guys were thinking to
41:01 yourself gee I've got a neck beard I
41:05 want to shave a forementioned neck beard but I don't want anyone to see my neck
41:10 beard how could I get shaving supplies
41:14 delivered directly to my door for less than it would cost me to go to the
41:18 grocery store wait around for someone to unlock the stupid locked cabinet that
41:24 the freaking like between razor blades
41:28 printer ink and perfume we've got like a
41:32 trifecta of overpriced stuff that
41:35 shouldn't cost that much that you need to use all the time that you need to use all the time especially if you're hairy
41:41 and you stink and you need to make a lot of printer
41:45 copies okay then Dollar Shave Club is
41:48 the answer by going to dollarshaveclub.com you can get
41:53 reasonably priced shaving supplies to

42:23 sorry bro yeah then you're just going to have to go out and wear that neck beard
42:28 loud and proud I mean can you imagine having a neck beard that was so bearded
42:34 that it was legitimately loud would have to have things living in it which
42:39 unfortunately has probably happened at some point probably yeah all right
42:43 moving on to our next sponsor this is a more serious sponsor they don't have
42:47 butt wipes but what they do have is top
42:50 tier manage cloud computing Solutions
42:53 they've got dedicated storage options to meet your performance security network
42:57 cap capacity and compliance needs and
43:00 they are backed by what they call fanatical support they're really well
43:05 known for 247365 baby if you have a problem on
43:10 Christmas Eve or even Christmas day that
43:14 is one of the 365 days in the year and they will take
43:18 care of it now this year was a leap year
43:21 so unfortunately 19 days ago you were
43:25 pretty much so not true because this year had 366 days not as they advertise
43:31 365 okay so once every better than advertis once every four years they
43:35 under promise overd deliver Rackspace takes a day off they don't they
43:40 don't what are we talking about Rackspace they're inviting you to Deep
43:44 dive sessions they take play they take about an hour every week or two to
43:48 discuss benefits of dedicated Solutions in a I have a link for that so if you
43:52 want to take a Rackspace Deep dive you guys can check that out um the long and
43:56 short of it is they will they will discuss you just said it um yep on March
44:01 23rd they'll have one on improving your operational efficiency which is like
44:05 good for everything ever they typically do about three sessions a month via
44:09 Google Hangouts and they will provide you with downloads to reference
44:12 architecture ebooks and white papers on the sessions landing pages so it's live
44:17 with active participation so you can go ask your questions and interact with
44:21 them so there's uh deep Dives coming up on March 23rd and on March 30th the
44:26 second one is how to optimize SQL server for performance and reliability this
44:31 kind of stuff is just plain beneficial so check it out give yourself a chance
44:36 to talk to rockspace experts and learn a little something while you are at it
44:41 which leads us to our last sponsor of the day which has outof dat notes a
44:46 totally a totally uh serious one as well
44:49 Squarespace yeah yeah what what when is the sales team ever going to update our
44:53 Squarespace notes sales team maybe this is part of their crime school you know
44:57 what we should do is we should completely ignore any new Squarespace
45:01 talking points until they update our talking points I'm going to pretend that
45:06 I still think Square squarespace's slogan is you know what you probably
45:09 should simple powerful beautiful you
45:13 should do that you know what else I'm going to say I'm going to say that they
45:16 have 247 support via live chat and email you should say that thank you that would
45:20 be applicable I'm going to say that Squarespace starts at only $8 a month
45:24 and you get a free domain if you buy Squarespace for a year you should also see that that would be accurate I'm
45:28 going to say that their templates feature responsive design so your
45:32 website scales to look great on any device you should also say that they
45:36 have Commerce modules so you can buy stuff and like or well you can sell
45:40 stuff or buy stuff from other people that and if the notes said anything
45:43 about cover pages then you should to talk about how you can have a cover page
45:47 if you want to do something like a resume style website it's like a simple online presence and the most important
45:53 thing that uh you should cover yeah is
45:56 that when you decide to sign up for Squarespace after your twoe free trial
45:59 to try it out and see how simple it is you should save 10% by using offer code
46:06 lonus yeah which um you should do you
46:09 should do thank you thank you thank you for watching The W show you should
46:13 probably build it beautiful you should probably build it beautiful you should probably build it simple and Powerful
46:22 too it is a miracle that anyone sponsors
46:25 us making
46:28 Nick good Brandon informs us we're making Colton and Nick
46:33 cringe I wish we could do more to
46:36 them but alas our words are only so
46:39 powerful from down here they uh they learned to get away from us in crime
46:43 school yeah crime school what have we even talked about on
46:48 the show today Broken baby food jar leads to Sweden's first unstaffed
46:52 grocery store how does that make any freaking sense I don't know but I'll
46:55 tell you Sweden specialist Robert
47:00 whoa
47:04 um I'm gonna I tried Swedish IT specialist Robert owns a store that is
47:10 unmanned it's a it's a town yeah it's in
47:13 a town in Sweden the stord this basically he's trying to feed his I
47:17 didn't see Nick behind the camera did you I see him now yeah basically he's
47:21 trying to feed I believe it was his baby daughter baby whatever and he broke a
47:26 food jar and had to drive really far to find somewhere that was still open
47:29 because it was really late at night or early in the morning or something and he got frustrated and was like why don't we
47:33 just have stores that can be open all the time everywhere so he made a store
47:37 that can be open all the time you you sign up there's a credit check that you
47:42 have to go through you get an app on your phone that so you can like manage
47:45 your purchase and stuff you can just walk in scan the things that you want
47:48 and walk out and then you get a bill once a month that is so cool if the door
47:52 stays open for longer than 8 seconds or is tampered with uh Robert will receive
47:58 an alert there you go I mean to be clear
48:01 this isn't the kind of thing that we're expecting I don't knowas this is uh this
48:06 is not the kind of thing that I'm expecting personally to be able to be
48:11 rolled out in like you know New York or that was terrible York I tried I'm going
48:16 there so I was trying to like oh my God
48:20 New York just screw off um in New York
48:24 in or like you know LA or whatever anytime soon because you'd need a fair
48:28 bit more security but right now it's deployed out in a small town only about
48:32 4,200 residents so exactly the kind of
48:35 town especially in Europe like I've noticed that where the grocery store
48:39 would close at like 400 p.m. oh my God
48:43 and you just be like Switzerland everything closes so early well it was
48:47 the same thing in Germany yeah remember the day we landed in Germany it was like
48:51 2:00 in the afternoon and freaking everything was closed like we couldn't
48:55 get food this is ridiculous um so so it's exactly the
49:00 sort of environment where something where you would have a lot of trust
49:03 between members of the community very small community and you would have the
49:08 frustration of not being able to buy baby food in the middle of the night
49:12 when your baby's freaking hungry and like I don't give a crap about you know
49:16 Sweden swedens and the Swedish people's philosophy about not working too hard
49:21 and all that stuff when my baby's hungry so if you can have a store that just
49:25 plain doesn't need anyone working in it and I can go get a freaking thing of baby food and hey maybe it could be more
49:29 expensive so that you know you could offset the jobs that'll be lost or
49:33 whatever and Justified something my first like legit non like I'm a ref or a
49:41 paper boy or I'm ow your lawn like that kind of stuff my first legit like I get
49:45 a paycheck every two weeks from a big Corporation kind of job was that a
49:50 grocery store so part of like this story
49:53 is cool when I go to grocery stores I use automated tills when I go to Home
49:57 Depot I use automated tills I'm that person already probably horrible because
50:02 it's contributing to stuff like this which is contributing to massive amounts
50:05 of especially low-end jobs going away with that said if there was anywhere
50:09 where I would want to be working at an entry-level job only to have it swept
50:14 out from under my feet it would probably be Sweden cuz they will probably figure
50:18 out how to support those people before other people well a lot of other
50:22 countries won't can you imagine a Donald Trump America
50:27 supporting people who have lost their jobs
50:30 yeah this is really this is really funny this is like super super funny um I was
50:36 reading an article that um was about it
50:40 was it was talking to a writer of an episode of The Simpsons from 16 years
50:45 ago where like I'm pretty sure every show has done this often times it's a
50:49 Christmas special where the the ghost of the future comes back and shows the
50:54 character how how they're life is you know heading anyway so it's the episode
50:59 where Bart um gets to see his future self and he's in like he's in like a
51:04 crappy band and he works in gigs at like
51:07 Nelson's club and and his sister has
51:10 just just won the presidency of the United States and Milhouse one of her
51:15 top AIDS comes in and holds up a chart
51:19 of the of the Staggering deficit that they've inherited from president
51:24 Trump seriously it was so it was so ludicrous like and
51:31 and so the writer saying like we were trying to write an America's gone crazy
51:37 like completely unbelievable worst case
51:40 scenario Simpsons has done that like a few times and that's what we came up
51:44 with like like not like once like they've made crazy predictions like
51:48 quite a few times and I just I thought it was I thought it was amazing didn't
51:53 they do something with like the iPad or something I I'm not
51:57 extremely accurately what's up ni can I help you yeah I'm just going to say you
52:02 ever actually read the not maybe people give me not I give you sorry I can't
52:08 hear you sorry the microphone can't hear you Nick Nick's trying to give us crap
52:12 about not reading his notes I'm just I'm just sitting here judging you maybe I
52:17 should come down and talk about you know how the always 30 minutes late hey hey
52:22 that was because my capture card stopped working today this week is my capture C
52:27 last week it was my camera next week it's going to be my laptop next it
52:31 actually might be his laptop next week we had some problems this time my
52:34 phone's not working that's why the stream can't start his phone's not working I'm just going to build a wall
52:38 so we can't get my Dreamcast stopped
52:44 working is that where you cast your dreams while working Nelson's yeah hey
52:48 that's that was a cool article all right so this next article the original what
52:52 it was posted by Dave has landed joh on
52:55 the Forum oh Nick John needs you um was
52:59 originally posted on oculus.com and this
53:03 is looking pretty impressive we hope except we've all seen this story before
53:08 I mean do you remember do you remember valve's whole like oh yeah there's still
53:12 many games for stream who cares um because just because
53:18 you have a lot of games doesn't mean that they're good however 30 Games is more than I
53:25 expected ocul to have as like actual VR
53:29 games not just games that like will work although I said that and I was told that
53:35 but looking closely at the list there's some things that I didn't actually really notice the first time like keep
53:39 talking nobody explodes actually no that was originally
53:43 a VR game it was later made into a non-vr game mhm uh the where was the ab
53:47 Elite dangerous no that's not the one I was looking for where's the sniper one I
53:51 swear to God I just read a sniper one um project cars no that probably not
53:59 I'm crazy I think I dyslexia the crap out of elite dangerous and thought it was like the Elite Sniper whatever
54:04 Sniper Elite Sniper Elite yeah so I guess that's not in here because
54:08 dyslexia so everything's fine never mind VR tennis online some of these things
54:13 like okay Adventure Time magic man's head games makes me excited because it's
54:18 adventure time makes me worry that it's rushed cuz it's $5 do you still follow
54:23 Adventure Time no oh okay do you uh was
54:26 like good and good and good and good and good and then it kind of lulled and this
54:29 K seems to be getting good again cool yeah that's cool yep Gun Jack is like
54:34 that's a that's a gear VR game mhm it
54:37 like has no place on Rift cuz it's just
54:41 way worse than Valkyrie and that's like about it okay cool you just can't move
54:46 cool and it's now a turret game like okay
54:50 um I don't know okay I am I'm like this this
54:55 doesn't fire topic I guess yeah doesn't really make much of a difference to me
55:00 because these could all suck you get luy tail for free with every purchase and E
55:05 Valkyrie with pre-orders yeah wow I can't believe they're not just going
55:09 toye that worries me which we already knew but that worries me is the EV
55:14 valkyri is called Founders pack super makes it y
55:20 DLC DLC or it's like even possibly going to be freeo
55:25 play with with purchases which might even be
55:30 worse um okay so so much for WD not
55:33 completing their acquisition of SanDisk
55:36 um it has been overwhelmingly approved on both sides SanDisk 98% of their
55:42 shareholders approved the merger in WD it was about 90% so
55:49 um yeah there you go so WD officially
55:53 has Nan fabrication Capac
55:57 good for them yeah um Russian billionaire is saying
56:02 that he can put your brain into a robot
56:05 in 30 years posted by no nerg on the Forum he's really confident he spent a
56:10 lot of money on it I think he wants to live forever I think that's what's going
56:14 on I wouldn't mind living forever you know it's actually kind of
56:18 sad because looking at a lot of the advancements that are being made in both
56:23 transferring Consciousness into a machine and and uh slowing or reversing
56:28 the aging process I feel like our generation just
56:32 barely didn't make it yeah we're going to just slightly Miss yeah like I can I
56:37 could totally see a near future reality
56:40 where if you agree to sterilization or something like that you can prolong your
56:44 life indefinitely Or something like I would I hope they make people agree to
56:49 sterilization because the last thing we need is a bunch of people living forever
56:54 and procreating at at the rate that humans do but
56:59 um anyway although if you get turned into a robot yeah that would yes then
57:06 sterilization would be a thing but um unless you like have a little little
57:10 manufacturing plant so he founded the 2045 initiative in 2011 with the goal to
57:16 create a more advanced non-biological carrier for an
57:20 individual's personality um I'm 100% confident it
57:24 will happen he says otherwise I wouldn't have started it
57:28 doesn't have a God complex at all I have no idea what you're saying yeah
57:32 um okay first part of the project is to create a robotic version of a human body
57:37 that can be controlled by the brain which is scheduled to be completed by
57:40 2020 I mean it's amazing we're only
57:44 hearing about this now when like you know we're at CES watching 3D printed
57:49 Prosthetics need to be controlled via muscle movement I mean surely if you can
57:53 build a whole body in the next and they
57:57 have they have the monkey that was walking on the treadmill I think in the
58:00 states who made a robotic version of the monkey walk on a treadmill in I believe
58:05 Japan both of those locations could be super inaccurate anyways it was super
58:09 far away mhm so I don't know he has poured 1.43 billion into the project so
58:16 far who says money doesn't buy
58:19 happiness if living in a robot makes you
58:23 happy very interesting yeah
58:27 team is made up of Russian Specialists from the fields of neural interfaces
58:30 robotics neuroscience and artificial organs uh this was originally posted on
58:35 RS Technica $15 million verdict in the
58:40 Hulk Hogan sex tape lawsuit could wipe
58:43 out Gawker which uh if you guys don't know
58:48 would include uh let's see Life Hacker
58:52 Gizmodo dead spin Kotaku Jezebel and
58:55 Jalopnik uh Gawker employs about 250
58:59 people and they were sued for publishing a sex tape showing Hulk Hogan having sex
59:05 with his friend's wife so Hogan's lawyer says that The Gawker editor was playing
59:09 God with my client's privacy the sum may have punitive
59:14 damages added to it as well and the jury
59:18 found two men personally liable in
59:21 addition to Gawker media wow so I guess lesson that we
59:26 learned here is that lus Media Group should only publish sex tapes if they
59:31 are of its employees with with consent yeah sure that thetically yeah that's a
59:38 good idea yeah so now now we know now we
59:41 know it's good to know I'm glad we know yes uh we've got another really cool
59:45 thing to show you guys uh this uh for those of you who tuned into to the
59:49 twitch chat getting there earlier this week um or the twitch chat the twitch
59:54 stream earlier this week where like I basically was only intermittently
59:59 streaming there was a reason for that it's really cool um eight members of
60:05 lonus Media Group have Counter Strike models with their faces on them and they
60:10 look freaking awesome um I don't have
60:14 the application installed so unfortunately I can't show you guys the oh here we go here we go there we go
60:19 that's you don't have to have the that's a better look at it uh how do I pen do
60:23 you know how to pen well okay go to edit
60:27 yeah um get then once it loads there's
60:33 some problems very beta which is why we couldn't get it working they tell us
60:36 though that the server should be back up next week and we can try again because
60:40 well I think the server might even be live right now but it's not like with
60:44 how hard we hit it trying to put like a whole team on there and stuff it has
60:48 major problems and they're making like a North American one just for us and all
60:51 this kind of stuff okay well I that is not loading so anyway anys it's pretty
60:56 cool it's cool the real Sense part of it is not beta yeah and actually works
61:02 super well um real sense with ic's 3D
61:06 scans really well um if you guys saw
61:09 the what was it called
61:14 uh 3D scanner that I did probably about a year ago I don't remember what it was
61:18 called I'm sorry I had to attach it to an iPad I scanned Taran I scanned the
61:22 room I remember what was called I did some other stuff yeah
61:26 anyways um it's like better than that
61:30 other than it doesn't does it do Rune scanning scanning the program I use
61:34 doesn't do room scanning I think it theoretically could do room scanning
61:38 just fine just the program I specifically use does not do it um but
61:43 like it yeah you can kind of see go I wasn't that bullish on real sense to be
61:48 perfectly honest um this demo has sold
61:52 me on it in a much much bigger way I
61:55 mean look at that if that doesn't look like a
61:59 terrorist he's making a crazy smile and stuff which is actually cool cuz it it
62:03 made some differentiation between different people's avatars um and like
62:07 if if his head's at a weird tilt or something
62:12 don't what just happened look at it's
62:15 like a pixel yeah whoa if his head's out
62:18 of weird tilt and stuff don't worry about that cuz you can fix that um but
62:21 anyways the real scent scanning went really well then we had to import it into this thing which uh you know didn't
62:28 work as well it uh yeah usually got to
62:32 work I don't know what's going on with his laptop or what's currently going on
62:35 with the site they have like two different beta sites they've been having us use and one's kind of better than the
62:40 other one so I don't really know if this is the right one or not anyways um this
62:43 part had some problems but we got through that made it all work and then
62:46 when we tried to integrate it on the server it was It was kind of weird it was supposed to like attach with your
62:50 steam ID so that when you connect it puts your model mesh onto your character
62:55 and only you onto your character but uh
62:58 there were some major problems like everyone spawning in is Colton this we
63:02 have like four Colton by the way guys this is important to note this is a low
63:05 resolution preview this is not nearly as good as it is looks it actually looks
63:09 considerably better than that yeah I sure wish I could it looks really good
63:14 yeah and it's like yeah it looks shockingly good and I wish I could show
63:17 it to you properly but like I I I'm kind
63:21 of giving up on that at this point but I mean you guys can probably tell sorry
63:25 launch it just stream some Counterstrike dog uh deploy uh do it it might work it
63:32 might work who knows I don't think it's going to work I guess no one would be
63:35 able to see you actually you kill yourself and you look at yourself on the
63:39 floor uh yeah but you okay so I'll have to be like running backwards while I
63:43 kill myself so I raged all backwards do you want to do the next topic while I
63:47 try and get this working
63:54 sure PlayStation VR to released October 2016
63:59 which is not that bad and it cost 399 USD or
64:03 549 Canadian remember when that used to be
64:08 3.99 Canadian yeah I do remember that actually my God anyways that's really
64:14 freaking cool might not exactly be what everyone expected me to say but that's
64:18 awesome because the cost of a PlayStation 4 and a PlayStation
64:24 VR is is cheaper than some entire VR Solutions
64:29 which is true but for the head the thing that we're ignoring here is that a
64:33 PlayStation move is not included okay um
64:36 you could play with the controller and what else was not included I forget what it was there was something there was you
64:41 could definitely just play with the controller yeah but there was some other and I can't look it up on my laptop
64:46 right now but there was there was some other super important periperal that
64:50 would dramatically improve the experience I think it was a camera that
64:54 is also not included um oh cuz the camera does need to see
64:58 the lights that are on the headset so I don't yeah I don't remember what either
65:02 way it's actually a pretty lowcost solution to getting into VR which does
65:06 have a dedicated Processing Unit which is a lot better than like a phone or
65:10 something and if Sony's optimizations are as good as they say
65:14 they're going to be then it could be a pretty good solution for its price and
65:19 like they're they're doing actually very respectable things like saying if
65:23 People's frame rates are too low we're just not allowing them to have the game
65:26 on the store which is awesome because they don't want to allow shitty
65:31 experiences I'm actually really excited for there yeah there's the other article
65:34 Sony to reject any PlayStation VR games that drop below 60 FPS good yeah like
65:40 that's awesome good job so like I'm actually
65:44 kind of stoked for this because
65:49 um yeah hope hopefully it's actually good like that's why I wasn't stoked for
65:54 the sulon G or Q or whatever it was
65:57 because it it doesn't look like it's actually going to be
66:00 good dang
66:05 it I think you have to restart the restart the round or something so I
66:10 think I'll actually have to wait 3 minutes and 40 seconds to find out if my
66:15 uh if my thing will
66:19 load this is a weird server man like the
66:22 chickens have like Playboy bunny ears on them or something
66:28 like what the heck is up with these guys
66:31 Easter oh Easter Playboy Bunny Easter
66:34 chicken that makes perfect sense why didn't I realize
66:39 it I I don't know what else we got don't
66:43 um George Hots so Geo hot you guys might
66:47 know him um attended South by Southwest this year to announce his new company
66:53 comma.ai um yeah discusses plans for
66:56 replacing many jobs with AI plans to start by eliminating all jobs in the
67:00 global Transportation sector replacing them with self-driving cars says his
67:05 self-driving Tech will ship for no more than $1,000 and will work on any car made
67:10 after 2012 once driving job yeah me too once
67:15 driving jobs are gone he plans to go on to the cashiers the secretaries the
67:19 sales people quote unquote those people
67:22 that are easy to replace with AI
67:28 all right
67:32 wrecked okay I'm not surprised it's
67:37 geohot original article was from The Verge so there you
67:41 go um the Razer core finally has a price
67:46 I think I nailed it I don't remember what I said I thought it was going to be
67:49 at the time uh but it'll cost $500 so
67:53 you will actually have to pay $500 just for the privilege of putting a $500
67:57 graphics card into it to run off of your laptop you can save $100 however when
68:02 pairing it with a blade or a blade stealth notebook I Hope they've got the
68:07 hot plug issue sorted out because if they do it is going to make the blade
68:10 stealth to the next gen blade stealth a
68:14 very compelling option current gen to
68:17 little RAM current gen is limited to 8 gigs of RAM which as you know people who
68:23 have paid attention to what I think about 8 gigs of RAM will know I do not
68:27 think is enough I don't know that that sentence made any sense but it doesn't
68:31 have to I ran out of memory almost just did
68:36 uh sorry a spoiler I did I I almost did
68:40 oh and then I didn't for scrapyard Wars oh yeah don't spoil scrapyard Wars okay
68:45 yeah scrapyard Wars is is is being worked on so as of today all the footage
68:51 has been logged people keep asking why does it take so long to edit a video
68:56 because it takes a long time to edit a video if you want it to be good so many
68:59 stages um so the first stage is to take
69:02 all the hours and hours of footage oh my God and not just watch them but actually
69:08 log in an application that isage how
69:13 important what happened how did it apply to the story line what was happening
69:16 elsewhere go grading it uh is there a
69:20 problem with the audio for example does it need extra work is there a better
69:24 clip that could also fill in this Gap did they retake it so logging is now
69:29 done so now the editing well no now I
69:33 think Ed is currently working on um putting together the story arc for the
69:38 season and this is part of the issue that we've run into with previous
69:41 seasons is I am so happy he's doing this haven't taken the time because we've
69:46 been too swamped to do that and even then it takes a long time just to be
69:50 clear um we haven't taken the time to do that so we've ended up with sort of like
69:54 action-packed and then kind boring and then actionpack and then kind of boring
69:57 so we're getting away from that not going to be a thing I'm when I saw him
70:01 doing storyboarding stuff I was like what is this and then he explained it all to me I was like thank you and then
70:06 just I think I just walked away but like that's super awesome and I think we'll
70:10 make a huge difference in the watchability of this graph big part of
70:13 the issue is we just haven't had the Manpower for it I get it and like we've
70:17 had Ed creating graphical assets and like editing ltts and even things like
70:21 fast as possible in between trying to get scrapyard Wars done in the past but
70:25 this time we are going to he's going to put in his earphones for a month and no
70:31 one will talk to him and I am really excited because scrapyard War season 4
70:35 is going to be the best ever um all right so there's a new blade
70:40 14 I have checked in with uh yeah I have
70:44 checked in with Razer we are definitely getting a review unit so um basically
70:49 not a whole lot has changed it's got a core
70:52 i76700 now instead of a fourth processor
70:56 which is what the existing blade had uh the 256 gig model gets a price reduction
71:02 um it still has a 3200x 1800 QHD plus display it now has a an RGB back lit
71:08 keyboard a PCI Express SSD um GPU is the same still a 970m 97m
71:15 are pretty solid and that's pretty much it not much else to say original article
71:21 was from n Gadget USB charging and uh it
71:24 has support for a Thunderbolt 3 Graphics amplifier upon release so if a 970m is
71:29 just not enough for you or you don't want your palms to sweat while you're
71:33 gaming then you can use one of those puppies you could like if you're if
71:37 you're plugging into something you could probably plug in a keyboard as
71:43 well just saying man I'm just saying
71:46 that's it show's over I'm just saying NOP nope shows over we got to go study
71:51 for Crime school yeah we got to go study for Crime school okay there's a couple topics here that I do want to hit next
71:55 week week um but I'm tired and it's time
71:59 to go to Crime school yeah all right so we'll see you guys again next week oh
72:03 you know what oh I don't think we're going to get away with not talking about this gamespot.com original article oh
72:10 Sony responds to Microsoft's invite to connect the Xbox One and PS4
72:17 networks um doesn't directly acknowledge Microsoft's open invitation but suggests
72:23 that it is open-minded to Partnerships
72:27 that is pretty exciting opening the door to crossplatform play was such a huge
72:32 thing for Microsoft to do shouldn't have been a huge thing it should have been a
72:36 thing from pretty much Day Zero since
72:40 Microsoft owned a console and a PC platform just saying yeah but at least
72:45 we are finally making
72:48 progress um thanks to Microsoft finally
72:53 pulling its head out of its butt and
72:57 saying that they wanted crossplatform play to be a thing so developers
73:03 building games for the Xbox One and Windows 10 will be able to support the feature rocket League will be one of the
73:07 first titles to support this makes perfect sense given that it's a controller optimized game so the uh Xbox
73:13 One owners won't have to feel too bad about their controller in that game
73:18 that'll come later to bad like it's actually yeah I know it's like totally
73:22 controller optimized um
73:26 so that's pretty much it oh man there's okay okay fine we'll just have to blow
73:29 through this as well there's a bunch of actually really important stuff that we sort of didn't talk about this week
73:34 originally posted by iush dreams on the Forum a
73:37 T-Mobile is back baby announcing YouTube
73:42 streaming that no longer affects your
73:45 mobile data cap
73:48 D so they now have more than 50 providers including Discovery go Fox
73:52 Business Google Play movies Red Bull TV YouTube and
73:57 more pretty freaking cool it's part of their Bing johon program now with that
74:01 said this is a uh this is a post on the t-mobile.com site and some of the
74:06 customer feedback of benjn hasn't been as positive saying that the coverage of
74:12 it is not necessarily that great but hey
74:15 it's a whole lot better than a big fat load of nothing which is what the other
74:19 providers are offering you so there you
74:23 go it's true apparently these bundle Services represent 70% of all the video
74:27 that T-Mobile customers watch on their phones and tablets monthly in four
74:31 months since bjon was launched these are pretty crazy statistics customers are
74:35 watching twice as many hours per day more than 57 pedabytes have been burned
74:40 up without using customers data plans and one video provider has seen number
74:43 of active viewers Spike by 90% and watch times nearly triple from customers very
74:49 nice I look forward to a future where every carrier has been John I'm just
74:53 kidding it's not happening all right so thanks for watching The W show guys we
74:56 will see you again next week same bat Time same bat Channel and I know the
75:01 intro isn't going to work but it's okay I will make it work
75:04 soon yay that was pretty quick yeah you
75:08 get a pass for that pretty
75:23 fast all right boop boop
75:29 boop also I need to see a thing real quick before I like actually end the
75:34 show what is going on here come on come
75:38 on come on I'm just seeing if
75:43 uh I'm seeing if I can show you guys that Avatar before I before I take off
75:48 here
75:51 continue wait do you happen to know if that one that I loaded was CT or
75:55 terrorist terrorist I think oh maybe
75:58 that oh oh yep it's you it's me okay so
76:02 okay the only way to kill yourself on this map is to jump onto the
76:05 railing or kill that also works no get
76:09 out get out there there look at him oh he's so
76:15 happy there he is look at him look at him he sure doesn't stay dead long that
76:23 guy you can just up Arrow enter there we go
76:28 there we go there we go there we go look at him look at him all right so there you go guys that's that's what it'll
76:32 look like pretty good that's fun
