- Can I play Crab Rave? Will it let me load YouTube on here?
0:04
Access denied (laughing) - [Andy] What?
0:08
- Today I'm back with another phone, and another phone that you can't buy, the OnePlus 10 Pro.
0:16
However, you can buy this phone eventually, it's just not released in the US and worldwide.
0:22
Currently, this is the Chinese version
0:25
and it will have a worldwide release to be determined.
0:28
In the box, we have some instructions.
0:31
What is this? Oh, so it looks like a bunch of safety stuff it's all in Chinese though.
0:35
We have the phone itself, we will look at that in a sec. It does look very nice.
0:39
We also have a kind of regular plastic included case.
0:43
I mean, I still appreciate that OnePlus always included the case.
0:47
I love these, I have so many of them now because I've had OnePlus phones for so long.
0:51
I always found it annoying that dash charging on the older OnePlus's didn't work
0:56
with any other cable besides this one. I might be wrong that there are other cables that exist
1:00
but I had very bad luck with Type C cables back then. This is an 80-watt SuperVOOC charger.
1:07
So dash charging, warp charging
1:10
is what they had most recently. The phone has gone back to Type A
1:14
cause I know the 9 Pro was actually Type C.
1:18
All right, let's take a look at the phone. Feels very nice.
1:22
I mean, this is kind of standard OnePlus,
1:25
we've got the SIM tray on the bottom, the Type C port, speaker.
1:30
We've got the classic alert ring vibrate slider.
1:34
I really appreciate hardware sliders and buttons.
1:37
So on the back of the phone we have the Gen 2 Hasselblad camera bump with the three cameras
1:43
and a bicolor LED flash ring light thing.
1:47
But I really like the, the feeling
1:51
of the glass back on this phone. Like this is the volcanic black
1:56
and it also comes in emerald green.
1:59
On the front of the phone we have a 6.7 inch LPTO 2 AMOLED variable refresh rate display
2:06
it is one to 120 Hertz. The battery on this phone is actually pretty impressive.
2:10
It's 5,000 milliamp hours, 4,500 milliamp hours to 5,000 is a pretty solid upgrade.
2:15
And the display has 1,300 nits peak brightness
2:19
and HDR 10 Plus just like the 9 Pro did. Let's see how this phone runs LTTstore.com.
2:24
Pretty good, there's, oh, there's the new LTT tote bag. The expensive edition CPU pillow.
2:29
- [Andy] Limited edition. - Scrolling seems nice.
2:33
Oh okay, why don't we watch a video? How do I do that on this?
2:37
I've actually never used colorwise before. I guess this doesn't have YouTube.
2:41
Can I play Crab Rave? I guess I'll use the YouTube browser.
2:46
Will it let me load YouTube on here? Is that gonna be a problem?
2:51
Access denied. (laughing) - [Andy] What?
2:56
Web page does not conform to the relevant laws and regulations.
2:59
Everybody in North America,
3:02
this phone is currently in Canada, Vancouver, BC
3:06
and I can't access YouTube. Crab Rave is on Billy, good job Monstercat
3:12
or whoever stezzy, whoever uploaded this.
3:16
Thank you, you've done a good service. What is this?
3:21
So I'm gonna play Crab Rave on the iPhone 13 Pro. This is not obviously a direct comparison
3:25
cause I'm playing it on the YouTube app on Monstercat's channel from Crab Rave
3:30
versus Billy Billy on some random upload of Crab Rave.
3:34
So it might sound slightly different, but I still wanna hear it.
3:38
(Crab Rave theme song)
3:46
Honestly, not bad, not as good as the iPhone.
3:49
I think the iPhone has a better mid-range, but this isn't bad.
3:54
It, I mean is what I would expect, I guess from a flagship in terms of performance of the speakers.
3:58
I mean as for the rest of the specs of this phone, it's got up to 12 gigs or RAM, this version has eight gigs.
4:05
Oh, also you have this weird feature where you can do RAM expansion.
4:08
- [Andy] Download more RAM? - You can expand your RAM to five gigs
4:12
and it uses the storage on the device as RAM,
4:17
which is very interesting. I've never heard of a phone doing that personally,
4:21
but maybe I've wrong, and then we also have these Snapdragon 8 Gen 1,
4:26
new naming scheme, which is the latest Snapdragon processor.
4:29
I think this is actually one of the first phones announced slash release that has it in it.
4:34
On my 8 Pro, one of the things I actually want to test on this phone is the fingerprint sensor
4:38
cause the fingerprint sensor on my 8 Pro has been, even though it works it's fast
4:43
but when it doesn't work, it's really annoying. And I've redone my fingerprint so many times
4:48
on this phone and had issues with it. So I wanna know how this one performs.
4:53
I just put my fingerprint in, let's see how easy this is.
4:59
Ooh, let's see if it, let me try it again at like a weird angle.
5:05
- [Andy] Ooh. - Pretty good. Okay, do the same thing with my 8 Pro,
5:08
which is beat up right now. See, this is what I experience
5:13
- [Andy] Damn. (laughing) - It's awful, I hate the fingerprint sensor on this phone.
5:19
OnePlus has come a really far way from where they had started.
5:24
I've owned 3T the five the six and now I own an 8 Pro
5:27
and I haven't honestly loved the 8 Pro as much as I've loved previous OnePlus phones.
5:32
And I feel like that comes from the fact that over time OnePlus has kind of gone more mainstream
5:40
with their specs making sure they check all those flagship boxes.
5:45
OnePlus doesn't feel like they stand out anymore, but you know who does stand out?
5:49
Our sponsor for this video, dbrand. This video is sponsored by our robot overlords at dbrand.
5:57
- [Andy] Dbrand, Dbrand! - Who I for one welcome.
6:00
Dbrand not only sells attractive skins for your gadgets and gizmos,
6:04
but also a curated lifestyle by their super intelligence AI.
6:10
Who I for one approve of, they even make a case for this OnePlus 10 Pro.
6:14
So when my meat hooks drop it, you're fine.
6:18
So check out the human readable link below and welcome the super intelligence AI into your life.
6:27
- [Andy] Click it! (laughing)
6:31
- I'm like are you happy dbrand, are you happy now?
6:35
Anyways, check the link below guys, let's go try these cameras.
6:39
So since we're kind of low on subjects right now I'm actually just gonna take a photo of this fire hydrant and see how it works out.
6:43
And then we're gonna do a quick video test of some cars passing by and then go back inside.
6:47
Cause it's freaking cold out here even though it doesn't look like it. It's a pretty rough situation.
6:53
Here's some Andy action in 8K video. Oh, here's a Porsche.
6:57
So here's a quick test of the selfie camera.
7:02
There's Andy. - Hello. - I look not normal.
7:05
So this is what the selfie camera looks like. There's just, the sun is blaring at my face right now.
7:10
And then this is what I look like if I'm back lit, ooh, that is blown out.
7:15
I'm shooting Andy and I'm just walking towards him.
7:18
Honestly, video is pretty stable.
7:23
There's an XPan Mode on this camera.
7:26
Kind of a silly feature, doesn't make the photos any better
7:30
but I like it that you can do this natively. Cause like I would crop my photos all the time
7:35
for this aspect ratio. I have no actual confirmation of this
7:39
but the only thing that is technically on paper, new, about this camera system
7:45
on this version of the phone is the fact that it has a 150 degree ultra wide.
7:50
Like dang, that is wide.
7:54
Oh it's so wide my finger's almost an issue in the shot.
7:59
Why don't we go review these photos. We're back inside now we're gonna just take
8:03
a quick look at these photos. This is just gonna be my first impressions guys
8:07
cause this is not a review. I just wanna see what these look like in a quick comparison.
8:13
So on the left here I have the OnePlus image
8:16
and on the right I have the iPhone image and I wasn't actually thinking
8:21
that I would see this stark a difference between the processing of these two.
8:25
I thought that the OnePlus would be
8:30
honestly a little bit chiller. It doesn't look bad. It actually like, the saturation's pretty punchy
8:37
but not in an unnatural way. The iPhone actually looks more natural,
8:42
but the colors in the iPhone in this photo in particular are pretty dull.
8:47
So here's the OnePlus image next to the Pixel image, and again like the iPhone, but still slightly different.
8:53
The Pixel looks fairly true to life
8:57
and the OnePlus is very saturated.
9:00
A little bit punchy for my taste. And then the color of the sky just isn't
9:05
what the color of the sky actually was. This is way bluer than what I saw with my eyes.
9:11
On the left we have the OnePlus image, which was just in the last photo,
9:16
really saturated and punchy, but right here it looks almost like neutral and de saturated
9:22
and then you look at the iPhone photo on the right this looks almost too saturated.
9:26
The iPhone didn't expose for the highlights as well as the OnePlus did.
9:32
I'd say it's probably not quite as good.
9:35
You have this some weird noise kind of in the flowers. Once you kind of get closer
9:39
the iPhone image is cleaner overall. So I think detail wise, the iPhone is better.
9:45
So the Pixel's kind of the in between honestly, it's not quite as saturated as the iPhone
9:51
but almost a different shade of pink than the OnePlus.
9:56
I think between these two photos I actually like the Pixel overall better
10:01
but again on the Pixel, the highlights are completely blown out
10:05
and on the OnePlus they are not, which is very strange.
10:09
The colors are just completely different
10:12
between these two cameras. Like even the blue of this car is not
10:17
the same blue in each photo. Of these two photos, I think a lot of people
10:21
would be happy with either. You might think the OnePlus is a little bit too saturated
10:25
but I kind of like it in this image. Probably the most new part of
10:29
this camera system, the ultra wide. Not amazing in terms of the detail and the rendition.
10:36
Having this 150 degree wide angle is probably gonna come in handy.
10:40
I don't know if the fish eye is gonna come that in handy. And the unfortunate thing is
10:43
you can't use video in this mode either. So you can't use the ultra wide 150 degree camera for video.
10:50
Last, let's take a quick look at video.
10:56
Ooh. It actually looks not bad.
10:59
I take that back what I said, it might be a little bit tougher phone
11:03
cause it's almost at the lower light of a magic hour.
11:07
8K video on these phones is honestly a gimmick.
11:10
I've not seen almost any phone's 8K video
11:13
that seemed that impressive. And no difference here, I mean pausing on a still frame,
11:20
it is sharp, the detail's not bad. The noise and the weird HCRing exposure,
11:27
I'm not sure I'm a fan of that even though it's probably better than the alternative
11:32
with it being just like completely blown out. So I understand why they're doing it.
11:36
So guys, this is is a first impressions video but by no means, is this a bad phone.
11:43
It's not amazing, I don't know that I personally
11:47
get a lot of use out of that, but maybe you would. Hardware wise, I think this phone is good,
11:52
but it doesn't really stand out
11:56
from the competition that much. By the looks of it, I think this is just the direction
12:01
that OnePlus has been going, where they're making flagship phones
12:05
that are pretty similar to all the other flagship phones
12:08
that exist on the market already. Which for me as somebody who really loved OnePlus
12:13
for being innovative in delivering high specs
12:18
almost at flagship level, I think that's kind of done,
12:21
and that's unfortunate. But thank you guys for watching.
12:24
Let me know in the comments down below what is, what you like and what you don't like
12:27
and tell me what you guys think of those photos because I'm more impressed than
12:31
I thought I'd be with this thing, but it's still not groundbreaking and that is unfortunate.
12:36
See ya. Channel sponsor, do you, so, Jono what's going on here?
