0:00 so as a followup to our video showing some of the top gaming desktops that we
0:04 saw at CES 2015 we wanted to do a top
0:07 gaming notebooks one because actually I feel like some of the amazing notebook
0:12 technology that we saw this week is even better than what we saw on the desktop
0:17 so uh without further Ado here we go
0:20 could this be one of our top gaming laptops of CES this year is this even a
0:24 laptop I mean this thing weighs what 4.7 kg it's got a massive 18.4 in 1080p
0:30 display and it is big like oh look at it
0:36 it is thick look at this thing this is the gt80 Titan SLI and this is a whole
0:41 new concept as far as gaming laptops are concerned it's got a core i7 4980 HQ
0:46 processor dual NVIDIA GTX 980m 8 gig
0:51 graphics cards did I mention that MSI is committing to offer mxm upgrade modules
0:56 for at least two generations that are compatible with this as well as a
0:59 cooling solution it supports up to four
1:03 DDR3 modules for a total of 32 gigs of RAM up to four m.2 SATA ssds in raid
1:10 zero in addition to a 2 and 1 half inch hard drive it's got their killer
1:13 networking so it's got 2x2 AC as well as wired networking it's got a 1080p webcam
1:19 but the real killer app for this one is aside from the upgradeability so you can
1:23 actually access all those components I was talking about before the optical
1:27 drive for m. MSA m.2 as well as two of
1:31 the dims the other two are on the bottom and the 2 and 1/2 in Drive aside from
1:34 upgradeability it is this guy right here this is a Cherry MX Brown mechanical
1:39 gaming keyboard built right into this notebook and what is a true Marvel about
1:44 this is it actually maintains the same profile off the desk as a regular
1:49 mechanical gaming keyboard is this the most practical thing ever would it make
1:53 more sense to carry around a mechanical gaming keyboard with you whenever you had to travel with your system I will
1:58 leave that up to you guys but is definitely a oneof a-kind piece of
2:03 machinery and something that will appeal to some folks out there I know this for
2:07 a fact continuing our tour of the top gaming notebooks of CES 2015 out of
2:12 everything that Gigabyte had on display this is the one that really stood out to
2:17 me not only does it have a core i7 quad core processor and it's you know got
2:22 this extremely slim form factor great mix of IO with four USB 3 ports dual
2:28 HDMI mini DisplayPort out it's got a glass touch pad it's got actually a
2:32 fairly nice chicklet keyboard with a full number pad and macro Keys over on
2:37 the left it's got a 3K or optionally a 4K nonn that's an EXO display on top of
2:43 all that stuff .9 in thin it's got
2:46 GeForce GTX 965m graphics cards in SLI
2:52 yes this is a dual GPU SLI notebook in an extremely slim form factor and it
2:57 packs a bunch of other stuff in there too instead of compromising the way that we see thin and light gaming notebooks
3:01 do a lot of the time it doesn't have any limitations in terms of storage you've
3:05 got up to three m.2 ssds supported along
3:08 with a 2 and 1 half in hard drive and it doesn't compromise on memory with up to
3:13 four DDR3 sodium supported for a total of 32 gigs of RAM our next notebook is a
3:18 little bit of an unusual one yeah it features a core i7 quad core 4870hq
3:23 processor yeah it's got 16 gigs of RAM it can hold up to two ssds and raid zero
3:28 13.3 in IPS display backlit chicklet
3:32 keyboard beautiful super slim
3:35 lightweight design and Iris Graphics well hold on a second
3:41 lonus that doesn't sound like much of a gaming notebook well the real magic for
3:46 this one happens in the box underneath it at the back of this notebook is a
3:50 little flap that covers a full PCI Express 16x slot PCI Express 16x gen 3
3:57 so this is desktop class connectivity to
4:00 this box down below that not only has additional USB as well as killer
4:06 Ethernet and audio ports but also a cooling fan a 450 W power supply and
4:12 room for any desktop graphics card you
4:15 could pretty much want MSI is saying you'll have support for any MSI GPU and
4:20 any reference GPU from either NVIDIA or AMD and all you got to do is power down
4:25 the system slide it into this locking
4:28 dock right here power power it back up and boom you are outputting from what
4:32 they've got in here is a GTX uh 980 if I
4:35 recall correctly you output to an external Monitor and you are having a
4:39 desktop grade gaming experience except when you want to pick it up and be on
4:43 the go and then you have a super lightweight
4:46 notebook did I mention it's called The gs30 Shadow I don't think I did but
4:51 that's what it's called so we found our next sick gaming notebook in the Intel
4:57 performance notebook Suite I mean imagine finding some high performance
5:00 notebooks there this is the HP Omen 15 so it's a 15.6 in 1080P model with a
5:06 full 10-point multi-touch touch screen for me personally that is something that
5:10 I do really appreciate it's got a core I 7471 HQ it's got a GeForce GTX 86m SSD
5:17 uh I think this particular one has 8 gigs of RAM and okay so those specs
5:21 don't sound really that amazing for me this one is more about the look aside
5:28 from the very stri in material choices
5:31 that HP has made for this one with the textured back cover as well as the sort
5:36 of the angular shape to the way that it sits on the desk you've actually got
5:41 this is kind of cool lights that illuminate in the surprisingly loud and
5:45 clear speakers along the right hand edges you've got a red back lit keyboard
5:49 a super like Mega wide touchpad that is
5:52 incredibly pleasing to use and then on the bottom itself let's go ahead and
5:57 close this bad boy you've got basically an entirely perforated surface along the
6:02 entire back of the notebook that keeps it nice and cool it's got a rubber ring
6:06 around the bottom so it doesn't slip around when you're using it on your desk
6:10 and this is actually something that I appreciate more than maybe even more
6:14 than I should so there's two rear exhaust vents at the back in addition to
6:18 power in four USB 3.0 ports HDMI out
6:21 mini DisplayPort out and a headphone jack I really like having IO at the rear
6:27 I find so many notebook makers put iio on the right especially USB ports like
6:32 if they're only on the right then I find they get in the way of your mouse hand
6:35 if you want to actually game with the thing by plugging in a mouse for HP the
6:40 only thing on the right hand side is an SD card slot and other than that it is
6:44 completely clean around the outside of the notebook now this little number
6:48 right here is a pretty normal looking gaming notebook it's got a 15.6 in 1080P
6:53 display it's got an Intel Core i7 4710 HQ processor that's a quad core it's got
6:59 a GeForce GTX 970m or an R9 295 XM in
7:04 there for the GPU up to 16 gigs of RAM an m.2 SSD for storage along with a 2
7:08 and 1 half in hard drive and a pretty typical I/O configuration some lighting
7:13 effects it's not like hyper thin or anything like that
7:16 say at the back that's not a standard
7:20 looking IO thing that is a port for alien wear's Graphics amplifier the box
7:25 that's sitting right next to it so what this does is it's a proprietary
7:29 connector that that features a PCI Express gen 3 Forex link as well as some
7:33 other Tom Foolery to give your notebook both expanded iio so additional USB
7:39 ports I'm pretty sure that's the only thing they got back here yeah some additional USB ports as well as a full
7:46 PCI Express 16x graphics card slot
7:49 inside the box that is powered by a 375 wat power supply so the demo they're
7:53 running right here actually has this notebook running Shadow of Mordor with a
7:58 GTX 9 80 desktop graphics card powering
8:02 this 4K display and running through the system so the system is only acting as
8:07 CPU memory storage actually everything except the GPU where this one takes over
8:13 for whatever mobile GPU would normally have in the laptop well I hope you guys
