0:00 So I got completely dismantled the other day
0:02 because I thought that even though there's so many ways
0:05 to watch TV these days, from Hulu to HBO Now
0:08 to like soon there's gonna be a Disney one for kids.
0:12 And even though most of these are about 10 bucks a month,
0:15 I still figured that most people
0:18 would probably only really use like one or two of them.
0:22 Netflix and YouTube, Prime Video and Showtime
0:25 or Plex and maybe some kind of thing
0:27 that's useful for watching sports.
0:30 But then I found out that there are a lot of people out there
0:33 who use way more than that.
0:35 Like even our cameraman Dave who pays for Netflix,
0:39 Amazon Prime, Crave and YouTube Premium.
0:44 And those are just apps.
0:46 These days even the hardware
0:48 is starting to get original series
0:50 like Apple TV's Carpool Karaoke.
0:53 Now the problem is that as these services get more unique
0:58 and non-overlapping content,
1:01 it starts to get hard to remember
1:03 not only which service has what shows,
1:06 but even just to find the content that you wanna watch.
1:09 Well, enter the sponsor of today's showcase, Kavo.
1:14 The Kavo Control Center is one device
1:17 that can manage all of your content.
1:19 And one extra bonus is that you cannot lose the remote.
1:24 They're intrigued, I can tell.
1:35 Allow me to demonstrate the core value proposition
1:37 of the Kavo Control Center.
1:39 Watch the man in the high castle.
1:42 And boom, it brings it up.
1:45 You can see in the fine print there
1:47 that it's prompting us to watch on Amazon Prime.
1:50 But that show is an Amazon original series.
1:53 So what about a show that's available on multiple services?
1:57 Watch Friends season four, episode seven.
2:02 Don't critique my taste.
2:04 Now, first of all,
2:06 being able to search episode by episode is pretty awesome
2:09 because you can't do that yet
2:10 with your Google Home, so that's a bonus.
2:12 And if I click on it, it actually gives me the option
2:15 of watching on any one of my three installed platforms here.
2:19 Boop, neat, right?
2:22 Now, a lot of you are probably thinking by this point,
2:25 yeah, I don't really have any trouble remembering
2:28 which media service my various content is on.
2:31 But to me, the big selling point here
2:34 is the wife and kids factor.
2:37 So it's a hundred bucks upfront, and then $2 a month.
2:41 For the service.
2:42 But it makes it much less likely
2:44 that you'll have to run over and open a show for someone
2:47 when you're in the middle of making dinner or whatever.
2:49 Now, of course, when you have so much content
2:51 at your fingertips,
2:53 targeted searching isn't your only problem.
2:55 You also have to decide what to watch in the first place,
2:57 which in my house is definitely like a key part
3:02 of movie night.
3:02 Like there's like half of it is figuring out
3:05 what movie to watch,
3:05 and the other half is actually watching half of the movie
3:07 because then it's time to put the kids to bed.
3:09 Anyway, that's neither here nor there.
3:11 And that's why Kaavo has this dashboard
3:15 of curated lists that are made by editors,
3:17 taste makers, and other Kaavo users.
3:20 Kind of like how you can share playlists on Spotify,
3:23 except you can make your list out of any combination
3:26 of TV shows, movies, live TV.
3:28 It doesn't matter where the content comes from
3:31 or what it is.
3:32 And then you can either keep your lists private
3:34 or you can share them with the community
3:36 and be like an influencer or something.
3:40 Now at the core of all this functionality
3:41 is that little box.
3:44 You know what?
3:45 Let's bring the box over here.
3:46 Wonderful, there we go.
3:47 This little box, which is basically an HDMI 2.0 hub,
3:52 meaning 4K at 60 Hertz.
3:54 It's got HDR pass-through and support for Dolby Atmos,
3:58 and it can support four connected devices at once.
4:01 Now Kaavo had an original product before this,
4:04 one that had more IO,
4:06 but was also quite a bit more expensive.
4:08 And what they found was this was kind of the sweet spot
4:11 in terms of what most people want connected to their TV.
4:14 So guys, leave a comment below.
4:16 Let us know how many devices you have connected to your TV.
4:18 Actually, I'd love to know what they are too.
4:20 Just some interesting stuff for my own bathroom reading.
4:23 Now, setup is one of the areas that in my opinion,
4:25 they seem to have spent a lot of time on
4:27 because it's really easy.
4:29 And by the time you're done,
4:30 the control center will have recognized
4:33 all of your connected devices
4:35 and made them compatible with the included remote.
4:37 So you don't need, oof, all of, ugh.
4:41 These anymore,
4:43 since the Kaavo remote can control your game console
4:45 and even your soundbar,
4:46 as long as it connects via HDMI.
4:49 Or you can connect the Kaavo to your TV via HDMI
4:52 and then connect the TV to your soundbar or AVR
4:56 via RCA or an optical cable.
4:58 Okay, so then this remote's very powerful and important.
5:02 What happens if you lose it?
5:03 Well, if you're one of those people
5:04 who spends their evenings talking to an Amazon Echo
5:07 or a Google Home,
5:08 then you might not even notice
5:09 since the control center supports integration
5:11 from both voice assistants.
5:13 So you can do things like,
5:15 okay, G-O-O-G-L-E.
5:16 Sorry, I'm not gonna do that
5:17 and activate all your guys' stuff.
5:18 Okay, Google, raise the volume or A-L-E-X-A,
5:22 switch to Roku or whatever the case may be.
5:24 And it even has a function where you can ask Google
5:27 to find your remote.
5:28 It'll beep and stuff.
5:30 Or, I mean, if you're a Luddite like me,
5:33 and I don't actually have a Google Home,
5:34 then you can press this button and it'll also do that.
5:37 So thanks for watching, guys.
5:38 And thanks to Kaavo for sponsoring this video.
5:41 Their control center is available for Americans
5:43 starting October 1st from Best Buy, Amazon,
5:46 and their own website, kaavo.com,
5:49 with no ETA yet for other regions.
5:52 But personally, I'm pretty hopeful.
5:54 If this video sucked, you guys know what to do.
5:57 But if it was awesome, get subscribed,
5:58 hit that like button,
