0:00 today I've got a short unboxing of an MSI Motherboard this is the p67a c43 so
0:06 it's very similar to the c45 except for a couple small things and
0:13 that couple small things is pretty much
0:16 one small thing it doesn't have uh as
0:19 many USB 3.0 ports so we're going to go through the overall features of this
0:22 board this is an 1155 board which means you've got support for Intel core I3
0:27 Core i5 and core i7 processors on
0:30 the uh of the second generation variety
0:34 so only 1155 chips don't try to use an 1156 chip in here it will not work so
0:39 we're talking 2500k will work 2600k will
0:42 work 875k will not work okay features
0:45 the military Class 2 concept with super farite chokes solid caps it's got OC
0:50 gen2 for One Touch overclocking of K series processors as well as a ufi click
0:56 BIOS let's flip this over it features a three-year warranty in the USA and
1:00 Canada and there's nothing under there
1:03 cat let's see what else they have to say for themselves we've got winky 3 which
1:08 is their software that allows you to chat with friends maintain hard drive
1:11 data edit docs and photos without any OS and you can also surf the Internet and
1:16 that's pretty much it for the back of the box yeah that's pretty much it so
1:19 let's open this guy up and have a look
1:23 see oh this is
1:27 interesting huh fascinating cable okay well we'll talk
1:32 about that in a minute first we've got our drivers and utilities DVD throw it
1:36 away download the latest off the MSI website here is a quick installation
1:40 guide you might need that if you want to install it quickly software application
1:44 user guide actual motherboard user
1:48 guide ooh color inside
1:51 uh uh inside cover that who is that a
1:56 what board is that oh that is an x58 board okay that's not a popular x58
2:01 board anymore that's their Eclipse very old very discontinued it's okay all
2:06 right we've got a couple SATA cables one right angle one straight we've got some
2:11 M connectors these are for easily connecting your front panel connectors
2:15 we've got an IO Shield which is look at that colorcoded very nice very very very
2:19 nice all right and we've got what appears to be a
2:24 usb3 header to USB 2
2:30 mail header so you can if I can get it to focus you'll be able to see the pins
2:35 on this thing so if you want to turn your internal USB 3.0 header into an
2:40 internal USB 2.0 header you could do
2:44 that if you wanted okay so let's grab the board
2:49 itself just going to close the Box real quick
2:53 here so we can see what we're
2:58 doing
3:03 take that tape off come
3:08 on ah there you go you can cooperate Mr
3:14 baggie and here is the board itself so it looks very similar to its
3:20 uh well very similar brother the P wait
3:23 hold on just a darn
3:28 moment oh oh okay I get it hold on I'll
3:32 be back in a minute okay here is the difference so you see that NC chip there
3:38 there's some other board components around it that are see here this guy
3:43 right here okay hold on I'm going to turn my manual focus off actually no
3:47 that's fine not present here so this is
3:51 a USB 2 header see how it's colorcoded
3:55 black and see how it's colorcoded blue on the other board and it's called well
4:00 here it's called USB 3 inside see USB 3.0 here it is not called any such thing
4:06 because and now I'm going to turn my manual focus off the c43 only
4:12 features come on Focus manual focus is
4:16 off uhoh I'll be back in a minute okay
4:19 manual focus is off now okay so because
4:23 this board only features two USB 3.0
4:26 ports that's why I got confused as soon as I saw the USB 3.0 port on the back
4:30 and I saw a header here I was like well how does this work it only has two ports
4:34 cuz this is a USB 2.0 header but rather
4:37 than redesigning the PCB they just haven't included the usb3 chipset here
4:41 the NEC chipset we saw on the higher end board and that is why it has this funky
4:47 adapter because now this is a USB 2.0 header so there's another USB 2.0 header
4:52 for a total of two okay so the overall layout of the this board is very similar
4:56 we've got our LGA 1155 socket right here in the middle we've got lot of room
5:00 around it you can see this lower end board also doesn't include the heat
5:03 sinks around the CPU area that are cooling see you can see the outlines for
5:08 where they would normally belong that are cooling the voltage regulation
5:12 modules we have an 8 Pin power connector up here in the top left as well as
5:16 support for four sticks of DDR3 running in dual Channel our 24 pin power is
5:21 along the right hand edge of the board in its optimal location and moving down
5:25 we have full support for SATA 3 6 GB per second running off of the Intel chip set
5:30 come on Focus there you go as well as four SATA 2 3 GB perss
5:36 ports here is the heat sink for the Intel chipset itself and continuing to
5:41 move down the board we have all of our front panel connectors our USB 2.0
5:47 header that I have now talked about endlessly and we've also got front no
5:52 front fire wire which The Other Board did have we have no rear fire wire
5:56 either for that matter but we'll get to that in a moment and we also have our
5:59 front front panel audio connector now in terms of the slot layout it is the same
6:03 as its big brother so we have three PCI
6:07 e1x one PCI e6x and three PCI slots so
6:11 if you were to install a dual slot graphics card in the PCI e6x slot then
6:16 you would still have access to two PCI e1x and three PCI slots so on a lower
6:22 end board that's what I would consider optimal because most people are going to
6:26 be carrying over their PCI adding cards
6:30 when they're not buying like a super expensive motherboard all right here we
6:34 go so we got a PS2 us PS2 uh yes it is
6:37 PS2 but it's not us anything it's a PS2 keyboard mouse combo Port we've got
6:42 eight USB 2.0 ports it's still got the clear seos button very nice very handy
6:46 for this looks like a good budget overclocking board with that clear seos
6:50 on the back we've got uh coaxial audio out optical audio out gigb Ethernet USB
6:56 3.0 and 7.1 audio nothing really
6:59 interesting to speak of on the back thank you for checking out my unboxing of the p67a c43 don't forget to
