0:00 I know we cover a lot of hyper premium stuff on this channel GTX Titan XPS
0:05 extreme Edition CPUs and the like mostly
0:08 it's for the wow factor because you guys seem to love that stuff but that doesn't
0:12 mean that that's what any of you actually buy so what does the typical LT
0:17 viewer buy to find out I went through our entire Amazon Associates report for
0:24 last month all
0:27 7,690 line items of it to to find the
0:30 most popular PC components in the list
0:34 and put together what I'm calling the viewers Choice Award computer I also
0:40 found some other really interesting stuff in there you guys be freaky
0:53 ra Intel skull Canyon knck features a
0:56 sixth generation core i7 quad core processor and Thunderbolt 3 learn more
1:02 at the link in the video description the CPU was a shocker I said very clearly to
1:08 our I thought gamer heavy audience in
1:11 last month's video entitled what CPU should I buy that I didn't recommend
1:16 anything higher than the core i5 6600k
1:19 for gamers but more than all other CPUs
1:24 combined the most popular choice was the
1:27 core i76700k with half of those folks evidently
1:32 opting for cooler Master's Great Value if not particularly amazing hyper 212
1:38 Evo heat sink to go with it most people
1:41 chose Corsair Vengeance lpx memory with the mode average speed being 3200 MHz
1:47 and the most popular capacity being a single 2x8 gig kit for Chrome far into
1:53 way the most popular motherboard was the ASUS
1:57 z170a which outsold the rest of ASUS lineup put together so it looks like
2:03 then my message about higher-end motherboards not performing any better
2:06 came through loud and clear with most of
2:10 you not valuing the extra features on the higher-end models video cards were
2:15 the most popular computer component purchases among our viewers with NVIDIA
2:21 holding 87% of the market share by units
2:24 and a staggering 95.1% by Revenue though it would here
2:30 that our viewers at least the ones who shop at Amazon using our code skew
2:35 heavily toward the high end the GTX 1070
2:38 and 1080 combined for over half of all
2:42 video card sales on our report I mean these are 450 and
2:46 $700 cards then on the board partner side of
2:51 things EVGA was alone out front with Aus
2:54 Gigabyte and MSI all battling hard for the number two spot and the top selling
2:59 video card overall then was a tie between the EVGA GTX 1080 FTW gaming and
3:06 MSI's gaming GTX 1070 maybe putting
3:09 gaming in the product name really does work at least on Amazon where it's damn
3:14 near impossible to use the filters to find anything storage was a landslide
3:20 Victory the Samsung 850 Evo outsold the
3:23 rest of Samsung's lineup and everyone else combined with 500 gigs as the most
3:29 popular Capac capity by far this is what
3:32 happens I guess when Intel just doesn't
3:35 refresh their SATA ssds except when they
3:38 feel like it though in Intel and micron's defense Samsung's industry
3:43 leading TLC 3D nand flash and ACC
3:46 companying controller technology makes them very hard to compete against
3:50 without losing your shirt on every sale
3:53 most of our viewers unsurprisingly chose the cheaper OEM Windows 10 home but this
3:58 is cool about a third of them went with retail copies of Windows 10 on a USB
4:04 drive instead of a download or a disc something I suspect more people would do
4:09 if they knew it was available for 30 bucks more than OEM and the same cost as
4:13 the download one with the more flexible retail copy license terms the most
4:19 popular power supply was a bit of a surprise to me though maybe it shouldn't
4:22 have been evga's Supernova 650 G1 80
4:27 plus gold 650 wat unit has a full fully modular interface and a 10-year warranty
4:33 both of which likely allowed it to handly beat out the rest of the crowded
4:37 power supply Market the case was sort of
4:41 a tie actually both the NZXT s340 and
4:45 fantex Eclipse p400s sold the same
4:48 number of units but fantex moved almost
4:52 as many of the $10 cheaper and nearly
4:55 identical P400 so I'm going to give them the win here and it's a really
4:59 impressive case for 70 to 80 bucks for
5:03 cooling fans this was another are you guys even paying attention moment for me
5:08 Corsair's AF series was Far and Away the
5:11 most popular to be clear I've got no issue with Corsair fans but the SP
5:16 series is a better allrounder I know it
5:20 Corsair knows it how many AF variants do
5:24 they even have of their newer lineup so why are you guys buying AFS when SPS are
5:28 available to monitors I'm giving the win to Acer with the r240 HW BX IPS 23.8 in
5:38 the Dell SE 2416 HX also a 23in IPS sold
5:43 more units but it was one guy buying 10
5:47 of them in one shot that pushed it Over The Edge versus individual buyers so one
5:53 person really liking something a lot doesn't make it popular peripheral wise
5:58 y'all have very expensive taste in mice with the Logitech g502 protus Spectrum
6:04 on a steel series qck mouse pad taking care of your RGB desk decoration needs
6:10 more of you went with cmstorm quickfire Rapids than any other keyboard though I
6:15 did notice that keyboard sales seemed a little tepid I mean maybe if you push
6:21 out enough mechanical keyboards that can handle 50 million keystrokes before they
6:25 break people stop needing new ones at a certain point and Kingston's hyperx
6:30 Cloud 2 gaming headset was trailed closely by sennheiser's hd598 special
6:35 edition and the antl mod mic either of
6:38 which are great choices for a headphone or headset we've got smart viewers
6:42 sometimes so let's throw up a summary of our viewers Choice PC here while I go
6:47 over some other highlights we'll have Links of course to where you can buy all
6:51 of this stuff in the video description so more of you buy Microsoft
6:56 Xbox wireless adapters than I expected and TP-Link seems to be the go-to for a
7:02 cheap and cheerful network switch oh and
7:06 we sold a whopping five Swingline staplers it looks like at least some of
7:11 you have learned that it's better to buy your own than to steal one from someone
7:14 else they're like $12 on the subject though of that last
7:18 item which isn't strictly speaking tech there were a lot of cool things that I
7:22 encountered more than enough to do a full segment of cool and weird stuff our
7:27 community buys on Amazon or maybe if you have a suggestion for what we should call it you could post that below but
7:32 with all the Flack that I take every time we deviate ever so slightly from
7:37 technology with some going as far as to complain when we talk about tech that
7:40 isn't PCS hopefully you can understand my
7:45 hesitation here so let me know in the comments did you like the PC version of
7:50 this should we start tracking that regularly and looking for Trends do you
7:54 want to see the non-tech stuff as a separate segment I promise you I will
7:59 definitely be reading speaking of reading read my lips brain tree brain
