0:08 so in 2005 Silverstone created the
0:11 perfect chassis the tj07 and I okay it's
0:16 not quite perfect my tj07 the tj07 is the case I use for my personal machine
0:20 my tj07 has the interior painted black
0:24 it has some modifications I've taken out the hard drive cages I have used the
0:28 back of the motherboard tray for mounting ssds I've taken out the front
0:32 Bay covers and I've replaced them with mesh um I've dremeled out some of the
0:36 back for cable routing basically I've made some some changes but the chassis
0:41 itself with its all aluminum unibody design is in my opinion the finest case
0:47 ever made now when Silverstone launched the
0:52 tj1 I was very curious to have a look at
0:55 it because the tj1 is something of a spiritual successor to the TJ tj7 with
1:01 some key improvements in technology that have been made in The Last 5 Years so
1:07 the tj11 is actually larger than the tj07 the tj07 has seven front Bays tj11
1:13 has nine so it's quite a bit taller it's also wider and so what are they using
1:18 that extra height for well for one thing the tj7 is great for liquid cooling
1:22 that's what I do with mine I actually have a quad 120 mil Radiator in the
1:25 bottom the tj11 allows up to a quad 140
1:29 mil r radiator so you got more space in the bottom they've also implemented the
1:34 concept that was introduced with the Raven series of chassis with the rv1
1:40 which is the 90°
1:43 altered um motherboard mounting so the
1:47 cards actually have their IO ports at the top of the chassis rather than the
1:50 back of it and I than that yeah we've
1:54 increased the size we've put in the 90°
1:58 mounting and I think that is pretty much
2:01 it for what I had to say so I'm going to let silverstone's packaging and
2:06 documentation here do the rest of the
2:10 talking okay so looks like my my packing
2:14 came off while I was taking it out of the box but give me a second to get this
2:18 unwrapped and then I will show you guys the tj1 so we've got the tj11 extracted from
2:24 the box you can clearly see that with me standing next to it the case appears
2:29 very large pretty with pretty much anyone standing next to it the case is
2:32 going to appear pretty large so let's just go through what Silverstone has to
2:35 say for themselves on the outside of the box which we haven't quite done yet so
2:39 not content with its past achievements Silverstone Engineers aim to set another
2:43 Benchmark okay so beautifully crafted all aluminum tj11 is a pleasure to work
2:48 with it's free of rivets now this is part of what allowed me to make the
2:51 modifications that I was able to make to my tj7 it can be completely
2:56 deconstructed and reconstructed very easily even if if you need to take it
3:00 apart paint it and put it all completely back together it's also easier to clean
3:03 for that reason as well I've taken it apart a few times so they have kept with
3:07 this uh proud tradition with the tj11 you can completely take it apart bigger
3:12 lower compartment to house even the largest radiator available talked about
3:15 that as well potential and flexibility are truly unrivaled um okay 1,000 wat
3:20 plus cooling capacity on air you can build an impressive storage server with
3:24 its plethora of Drive Bay options or even an amazing piece of technology
3:28 artwork with liquid cooling so this has all been covered so far plenty of
3:32 ergonomic touches such as quick access filters a hot swappable hard drive Bays
3:35 which is the tj07 did not have removable motherboard tray which the 07 did have
3:40 CPU black back plate cutout which the 07 my 07 doesn't have but I believe the
3:45 newer ones do and an optimized cable routing path to enable easy maintenance
3:48 and upgrades for efficiency awesome okay
3:52 let's move along here so the 90 degree motherboard mounting I've already talked about it includes two air penetrator air
3:57 AP 181 fans to Aid stack Cooling so that
4:00 is their uh cooling design with the motherboard rotated 90° extra large
4:05 venting area for the 10th expansion slot which will'll have to show you later
4:10 rivet Fe free construction room for powerful water cooling equipment dual
4:14 power supply support that's another thing that it carries over from its uh
4:18 predecessor the tj07 all aluminum construction with anodized sand blasted
4:22 finish now this I'm really glad to see check this out so on the tj07 we had the
4:27 anodized sand blast finish which is kind of a rough finish I don't want to touch
4:30 it cuz I don't want to leave fingerprints um and then on the sides we
4:33 had a brushed finish now brushed finishes I love them they look beautiful
4:37 but they're a fingerprint disaster you touch them and it it actually etches
4:41 into the aluminum from your fingerprints and you can't even rub it off if you let
4:46 that those oils sit there for long enough whereas with the um with these
4:51 sand blasted finishes they're actually far more durable in terms of being um
4:58 well they're harder to scratch they're more difficult to damage with your fingers etc etc so for the side panels
5:02 mine particularly have um IR removable
5:07 marks indelible marks at the back from from taking it off and putting it on so
5:11 you should be able to avoid that with this case all right a Silverstone
5:15 exclusive dual extruded aluminum unibody frame with thickness of up to 4.5 mm so
5:20 the unibody frame here they're talking about a single piece that here where are
5:25 they saying yeah the single piece that runs through the entire front curve of
5:30 the chassis so that is something that's been carried over from the tj7 9 5 and
5:34 1/4 in Bay twin removable hard drive cages with built-in cpo5 hot swapable
5:39 adapters we'll have to show you that in a minute six 3 and2 in hard drive trays
5:43 with uh you can look at this picture over here so that they can see for now
5:47 um six 3 and half in hard drive base built using industrial grade nylon very
5:51 cool okay and then massive lower compartment we've talked about that
5:55 before power supply housing area for up to two power supplies dual see-through
5:59 air intake vents with removable filters
6:02 okay uh P air penetrator fans y yep top
6:05 mounted slide out motherboard tray system to facilitate installation 9
6:08 plus1 expansion slots enable support for XL ATX motherboards and multi-GPU
6:14 configuration so that's a big one as well the tj11 is actually one of the few
6:18 cases on the market that can accept something like a Gigabyte G1 assassin
6:23 motherboard natively with no modifications
6:27 whatsoever all right let's take the side panel off oh we can have a look at the
6:31 accessories that are included as well so we've got three
6:35 SSD adapters so that's uh 2 and 1/2 to 3
6:38 and 1/2 inch adapter oh look at this they let you decide if you want to put
6:41 on the Silverstone badge or not so it just comes with a double-sided tape on
6:45 it so you can either put that on your case or you can not is there a
6:49 particular place it goes no you decide excellent all right uh dual power supply
6:53 adapter just a relay so that they'll both turn on at the same time fan
6:57 filters two of them oh they're magnetic nice all right tj11
7:03 manual screws another Silverstone uh
7:07 badge this one's not made of metal it's more of a sticker but it's smaller it's
7:11 also nice yeah this is a metal sticker by the way it's very very nice okay
7:14 we've got a Molex to three 3 pin adapter
7:19 for your fans and then finally we have the single uh redundant power supply
7:25 option here if you're building like a high-end workstation and you're going to
7:29 put that in a Silverstone tj11 here's the side panel oh there's that extra
7:33 screw I was wondering where that went okay here is the side panel it's very
7:38 thick look at that piece of aluminum right there it's incredibly thick heavy
7:43 duty construction that's what makes this case even remotely workable with though
7:47 the fact that it's made of aluminum if this was made of steel it would weigh more than I can carry I'll tell you guys
7:53 that much so you can see here this is completely free access for the air air
7:59 pen pator fans here to fresh air flow from the outside and then down here
8:04 these grills are all opened up so that for people who are going to remove the
8:07 lower hard drive cages and mount a large radiator down there they will have all
8:13 the access to air flow that they need for the cooling fans on the radiator
8:17 itself so since this is a uh sort of a
8:21 like a backwards case I've actually opened up well it's like backwards and
8:26 then rotated 90° so I've actually opened up what would normally be the correct
8:29 side to see the motherboard tray itself but in this case it's not oh yeah and it
8:33 comes with uh an anodized aluminum mouse
8:36 pad as well which is just gorgeous all right so let's open up the
8:41 other side give me just a minute here won't make you guys sit through that so
8:45 I opened it up but I realized we're not really done with the outside so up here
8:48 on the top of the case we've got an enormous grilled area so this is
8:52 actually the main exhaust for the case the back of the chassis itself actually
8:58 has no room for exhaust at all because that is not the function of the back of
9:03 this case so let's go ahead and take this off it's just held in place by
9:08 Clips all right now you can see what would normally be the back of a computer
9:12 case so there's your IO here's where you can plug in the front USB if you're not
9:16 using the internal headers all right and there are your
9:21 9 + one okay what does that mean so 9
9:25 plus oh just this is just ventilation space for that 10th spot so there's your
9:30 9+ one uh uh PCI slots as well for your
9:33 XL ATX motherboards lots of ventilation space around the sides and the bottom as
9:38 well and a 120 mil fan here at the back
9:42 the power button is also here on the top and then on this side we've got two USB
9:46 3.0 ports as well as a reset switch and
9:49 then on the other side we have two USB 2.0 PS as well as our front audio ports
9:56 on the front I want you guys to have a close closer look you can see the 5 and
10:00 1/4 in Baye as well as oh another power
10:03 switch so they've actually built in two power switches so whether you want to
10:07 turn whether you want to have it sitting on the floor next to you and be able to
10:11 reach the power switch here or whether you want to have it up on your desk and
10:15 reach the power switch here you will have easy access to turn on the computer
10:18 H it's kind of neat all right moving around to the other side this case does
10:23 include a side panel window so you can see the uh sexy Hardware that you have
10:29 hopefully installed in it because if you're going to buy this case and put in
10:32 like a you know Micro ATX motherboard and like Onboard video and yeah then
10:37 we'll just have to you Stone you to
10:41 death okay so there you go that's what it looks like with the window on and now
10:46 off and let's have a look at the internal features so here we can install
10:50 all of our 5 and 1/4 in devices here we can see the hot swappable 3 and 1/2 in
10:56 Bay you can also see that oh I don't even know why it included in SSD
10:59 adapters because it looks like we can probably just screw ssds natively onto
11:04 these right there like that maybe there's ones that uh that don't have
11:09 that piece I'm not sure not 100% sure how these work there we go nice
11:15 excellent okay let's have a look at these other ones it looks like they're all the same yep those are all the same
11:20 so that's how the hard drives go in here are the enormous AP 181 fans so these
11:25 are going to be blowing up at your components which will be inst called
11:29 this way so your video cards are going this way lengthwise here see
11:34 that all right here is the motherboard tray which as I mentioned before
11:38 supports up to XL ATX so that's where
11:41 you have those longer motherboards like the G1 assassin okay here's our front
11:46 USB 3.0 hookups let me just see where
11:50 those cables come from yeah it looks like if you wanted to hook those up to
11:53 internal adapters for the time being you're going to need to get an adapter
11:57 from these to an internal header but since on this case you're hiding all of
12:01 these cables anyway it's not nearly as big of a deal all right oh speaking of
12:05 the back actually there's a cutout right
12:08 here which is going to allow you to run things like your uh your display cables
12:14 up into the case without being obstructed by this piece
12:19 right here okay there's so much to this case I'm
12:24 sorry this video is so long guys but there's really nothing I can do about it
12:27 so the AP 1881 have filters on them which are removable and cleanable there
12:32 you go they have free access to all of the outside air as I mentioned around on
12:36 the other side but that goes for both sides all of the internal cables are
12:41 black black black so they're sleeved
12:44 there's your uh there's your dual power switch right there see how it has two
12:48 cables going into it there's your power LED hard drive LED reset switch your uh
12:53 front USB and your front HD audio is all
12:56 there uh here are the SATA cables for
12:59 those hot swap Bays so you can either leave those in plug all these into your
13:03 motherboard and then leave them as hot swap or in my case what I would be doing
13:06 is I'd be removing them all finding somewhere else to put my drives like uh
13:10 like I did on my tj07 is I bolted all my
13:13 sists on the back of the motherboard tray so I might do something like that or Mount them on the back of the 5 and
13:18 1/4 inch Bas whatever the case may be
13:21 and uh I think that pretty much covers everything that I have to say
13:26 about the tj11 for now I'm actually going to be doing a new extreme buyer
13:31 guide featuring The tj11 so I invite you
13:34 guys to stay tuned for that I'm going to be finally updating my liquid cooling
13:40 howto with some higher performance Part Parts I did kind of a liquid cooling
13:44 Essentials guide way back when as episode number two of ncx tech tips so
13:49 this time we're going to do it right we're going to do it with the G1 assassin and the tj11 with some cool
13:54 swifttech water cooling parts and I'm definitely very excited about that so
13:58 stay stay tuned and uh let's see what the tj11 has in store I've never built
14:03 an it before but on the surface it looks like it addresses pretty much any
14:07 complaint I could have possibly had about my ideal case the tj07 we've got
14:12 the black interior we've got better Cable Management it's roomier for more
14:16 water cooling goodness and other than that I mean what else what else is there
14:20 to change thanks for checking out my unboxing and first look don't forget to
