0:00 4:45 to 5:00 okay we're live we're live we're
0:05 live so we're almost almost on time well ah we do you like my new metrics we're
0:09 almost pretty late is how I think of it almost pretty late yes almost so you go
0:15 the other way around yeah I'm The Optimist so yeah I consider like if
0:19 we're if we start at like 435 to
0:23 4:45 I consider that a little late a
0:26 little late yeah and then if we start from anywhere from kind of 4:45 to 5:00
0:31 that's like really late and then after
0:34 5:00 is like something something was on
0:38 fire no no it's we're we're we're late but we're not really late but it's 450
0:42 oh yeah okay yes I would consider that really late okay yeah but like and then
0:46 like after five is just like unless something was on fire there isn't really
0:50 much of an excuse I mean there still isn't an excuse um so yours is based on
0:54 lateness mine is based on on ESS yeah so
0:57 my my almost the same thing yeah it's like saying it's like the like oh
1:03 yes I'm I'm 25 years
1:06 young like yeah so you're that guy
1:10 except yeah in that situation I'm not I guess so maybe I should be your
1:14 guy cuz I hate that so we really late
1:17 it's like measuring phones in millimeters thin yeah see the you're the
1:23 marketing guy at the end of all that it turns out you were like the marketing
1:29 executive oh wow that's the worst I never even
1:34 realized you were such an effective marketing executive that you didn't even
1:38 know I didn't even realize you do all this time I planted my phones in your ad
1:43 spots for $300,000 in your show yeah why
1:47 don't we why don't we get into what topics we have today good thinking do it
1:50 man so one plus apparently paid 300,000
1:53 us and you know what this is actually in as a rapid fire topic but I have a lot
1:57 to say about this sure 300,000 us to get
2:00 their phones featured in House of Cards
2:03 um what else do we have here uh Google
2:06 releases Android n details I'm going to
2:10 have to say it like that n details cuz that doesn't really sound like maybe
2:14 you're not super sure about the like micro parts of the uh words M the micro
2:20 parts of the I was find excuses to say m what is
2:23 a micro Parts is the closest you can get to a sensible thing
2:29 with an well it was it had to fit that part of the sentence why don't you com it with a
2:33 with a
2:39 mick oh man oh that's terrible Manis VR
2:42 gloves Manis it
2:46 works what else do we have do we have any other topics and Microsoft announces
2:51 closure of lion head Studios sees this development on latest Fable game which
2:54 isn't funny No actually that's pretty
2:58 lame imagine Nike bought Microsoft and then renamed them Microsoft I like Mikey
3:03 better Mikey Mikey let's roll the intro
3:06 it would be like Mike get it it would
3:09 actually make sense for
3:13 Mikey like Mikey just poo
3:21 it wouldn't that be just like a great tagline for a laxative company oh my God
3:28 someone should do that just poo it I wonder if Nike would Su
3:32 probably probably pretty hard I mean it's one of those things where like you
3:36 could make the argument that it is not Nike's
3:41 trademark but I mean I don't think but I
3:44 think that would be like the model 3 thing yeah that might be one of those
3:47 things where Nike would kind of be like yo here's a letter that's like super
3:52 friendly but also super had 16 lawyers writing it you guys should probably
3:59 change your slow because you can't afford to go to court
4:03 with us for this
4:06 long yes yes apparently it's shy La
4:10 Buff's trademark no actually it isn't he says oh wait hold on yeah he does say
4:16 just do it I thought he sometimes didn't say just though he mixed it up a little
4:20 bit right don't let your dreams be
4:23 dreams I don't know if that's that clip is so awful like I I actually never did
4:27 figure out what the story behind it was if you ever watched the full thing
4:31 intentionally bad I don't know it was really weird Ione like cuz everyone's
4:35 like oh shil Buff's like super motivational speech so I was like okay
4:40 and I watched it and he was just like screaming do it and I was like uh okay
4:45 no I did no I watched it you watch the long one there's a long one there
4:49 there's like longer than a few minutes oh yeah it's like half an hour what yeah
4:54 you watched that for half an hour I was I can't watch Shabu for half an hour in
4:58 Fury I think never mind standing in front of a green screen screaming at me
5:02 I think I was like scripting something and I had it on in the background
5:06 because I was trying to figure out what it even was gross and it like I never
5:10 understood at no point in time did I understand I think it it felt like he
5:14 was doing like auditioning takes for like different like styles of
5:20 himself I guess is what I'd say a whole bunch of people were saying it was an
5:23 art project and I was like when does something go from Insanity to an art
5:27 project or are they the same thing
5:31 I don't know there was your scrapyard Wars computer that was pretty freaking
5:35 cool was it cool so hold on hold on hold on hold on we don't want to say too much
5:39 I got a thumbs up we don't want to say too much we don't want to say too much so I got a thumb up what I will say is
5:44 this I got two thumbs up I've got I've got people asking me already when is
5:51 scrapyard Wars going to be release because Friday no I'm the marketing
5:57 guy you're the crappy marketing guy it's
6:01 like just poo it on
6:05 Friday not toilet's half
6:09 full not Friday at all um so no not
6:12 Friday it will be on a Saturday but Ed
6:17 respectfully requested an additional
6:20 week which is good which is good you want that actually because we are doing
6:26 this one really differently so scrapyard
6:29 Wars 1 was three parts with the last part being primarily benchmarking SL
6:35 judging and the first two being us running around getting stuff yeah
6:39 scrapyard Wars 2 which was the um water
6:42 cooling one was I
6:46 forget okay scrapyard Wars 3 with Austin
6:50 was a three-way battle and that ended up being a challenge for a couple of
6:53 reasons number one was with three teams
6:57 it was just so much footage for one
7:01 person have to scrub through for one person get editor or anything and the
7:06 other issue was that it made it really hard to track what was going on because
7:11 there were these three different storylines where the time of day you
7:16 can't necessarily go okay it's 10:00 let's check in with what this team and
7:19 this team are doing here's our 10 o'cl update doesn't really work that way because at 10:00 he might be sitting
7:24 picking his toes and I might be out in a car and Austin might be doing something
7:28 else or we might all be sitting picking our toes like you can't or we're all
7:31 doing something too insane to be covered in a short segment or like it it it's
7:36 just never really going to make a ton of so it was really hard to tell the story
7:40 so scrapyard War season 4 I think Luke
7:43 and I not I think we talked about it already our 100% in agreement oh it's
7:48 the best one is going to be the best one it is the best one two teams two teams
7:53 but we've got It's A Team Battle so it's um me and one of the BS mods guys Luke
8:00 and the other BS mods guys so we've got actual Professional Case modders this
8:03 time helping us with it the scoring is going to be done a little differently
8:08 it's not going to be just performance and the filming was different too so we
8:12 filmed almost the entire time like my
8:16 camera was probably rolling a good 60% of the time Brandon you think that's
8:20 about right I don't know if ours was so
8:24 there's a lot of footage I mean was he
8:27 rolling even 40% of the time
8:30 we did a lot of retakes oh he would not be rolling and then we'd say something
8:34 we had to do Fair bit that too we do it yeah like okay yeah of course I mean it
8:38 is what it is it's it's capturing the moment as best you can ED is really good
8:42 at like being completely not noticeable when he's filming so like I don't know
8:47 how much he filmed okay I realized in one of the stores he had the camera like
8:51 in his elbow and it was actually running like he he he's just able to like he's
8:57 kind of ninja yeah so don't know how much he was filming okay well you know
9:01 what might have been a lot what's really cool is we were allowed to film in every
9:05 store we went into uh we were allowed to
9:10 film in a lot of the stores we went into we were allowed to film in the most interesting story we went into so the
9:14 filming is going to be really complete which is really cool and I have finally
9:21 caved I have finally caved to Ed and we
9:25 will be doing longer episodes So the plan right now is to have half an hour
9:30 to 45 minute episodes uh that needs to go into
9:35 inventory uh half an hour to 45 minute
9:38 episodes and we are going to limit it to
9:42 the plan is for right now so what ad
9:45 asked for is a full two weeks to go through everything document the story
9:52 line and then figure out what the structure is going to be so this is going to be like the best one yet we are
9:57 actually going fullon like reality show
10:01 length like good reality show length it's like an hourong TV episode about 45
10:06 minutes to show you guys as much of the action as possible so we are deweb
10:12 series ifying it a little bit and making it making it really more like a TV
10:17 series so you guys have been you guys have been asking for that I was really
10:23 apprehensive about doing really long form com content on YouTube but you guys
10:29 um you guys won and Ed won and we're going to try it and we're going to see
10:34 uh see how it turns out so um Dennis is apparently helping me co-host the W show
10:39 now for whatever reason okay was there something that you wanted to share with
10:43 the audience or my um my day share my day sure what sure
10:52 I can't stop you I've been too busy I I don't know
10:58 can't function now I don't know why I got P suddenly I
11:03 was editing and looked me here did sorry
11:07 Luke pulled out pull me out he never does that okay that's good that's really
11:12 polite I mean
11:16 yeah okay what's going on nothing I've
11:20 just you're supposed to tell us about your day oh
11:23 okay I had my day I don't
11:32 okay all right Luke you can come back yes please save me I can I can I'm I'm a
11:40 so fail alert I get it Dennis's brain is kind of
11:45 fried today he's had a pretty stressful day we shot four fastest posses today uh
11:49 we had some challenges with ingesting the footage um he he definitely had his
11:54 day that is a true statement that's a factual statement um so let's get into
12:00 the Android n details and developer
12:03 preview I'm sorry is the YouTube video up yeah it is yeah viewership is just
12:06 really low today I'm not really sure why and maybe it's the jacket I like it but
12:10 you know actually you were getting no no no no I'm kidding I'm kidding you were getting a lot of compliments on the
12:14 jacket okay yeah no I was just messing with you did you notice how it's LTT
12:18 orange on the inside I did not notice that but it is actually pretty close
12:22 it's like really close gloss little bit yeah hold on a second cuz not um well I
12:27 don't know if I have anything else that's really dark yeah ours is a little
12:31 darker I think this is pretty right um
12:35 this one this one's pretty right so we do have a bit of a darker orange it is a
12:38 bit more of a vibrant orange this is really nice though I was I was telling
12:42 that already what is it NASA Jack Society it's from alpha F the
12:49 zipper which one the one on the jacket or the other
12:52 one I think we all know I'm not interested in uh the zipper so much as
12:57 what's under it it's kind of nice yeah it's like really nicely constructed it
13:01 looks good I like it thank you um yeah it's from from people that
13:06 are wondering it's from the light sale project that bill and NY was heading out
13:10 yeah so anyways we've talked about that before don't worry about it um all right
13:14 so uh this was originally posted by aim1 1999 on the Forum do you have the link
13:19 there uh use the life hacker one so Google releases Android n details and
13:25 developer preview and all that good stuff you know the really the funny
13:29 thing about this to me um is
13:34 that Android M it feels like never really reached
13:41 ubiquity the way that lollipop did
13:45 before it not even close like I've got a
13:49 handful of Android devices of
13:52 which I I don't know if I'm running Android M on any of them I think the
13:56 NVIDIA Shield tablet I'm almost might be running marshmallow my phone is not yeah
14:01 no my Z5 compact is not running marshmallow yet to my knowledge I did
14:06 see a software update not that long ago but I'm pretty sure it was just another
14:10 lollipop tweak like I don't think it was actually it was actually Android m i
14:15 mean I'm going to I'm going to check right now no yeah if I'm running 5.1.1 yeah well you that's an Nexus
14:20 device isn't it G oh that's a G4 so G4
14:23 so some of the some of the like Flagship phones have got it I know that the
14:27 Galaxy S6 is running it um Nexus devices
14:30 have it but it never really it never
14:33 really took off the way that some of the previous ones did I mean Kit Kat
14:37 lollipop um so I don't know very even
14:41 have the uh life window like it wasn't even around that
14:45 long no no really well I don't know maybe maybe I just didn't really notice
14:49 I don't took so long to roll out um
14:52 release I have to look it up release date of Android M yeah I'm going to search for the announcement uh so
14:57 Android M was announced uh May 28th 2015
15:00 so not even a year ago and then it really didn't start rolling out until a
15:05 little bit after that so it was late May so it's probably like June July by the
15:08 time it was really even rolling out on devices I mean that's only like a 9mon window it was pretty small um yeah
15:14 anyway so it's got a oh sorry I'm uh
15:17 still screen sharing here there we go so it's got a bunch of new features uh this
15:22 one's cool so it's got a data saver feature which allows the operating
15:26 system to tell applications proac L um
15:29 and it sounds like it's configurable Al though I don't have all the details
15:33 about all these all these little things just yet but it sounds like it's
15:36 configurable you can be like uh yo when I'm close to my data limit make sure
15:40 that you're telling my video streaming applications to default to the lowest
15:44 bit rate um or you know tell them not to
15:47 use background data or
15:51 um my favorite stuff is not even related to that necessarily it's the
15:55 notification tray updates so there's a few different things there uh much more
15:59 interact like the the main thing that they seem to be doing which was pulled
16:03 out by Marcus brownley is that they're using the screen real estate more he
16:06 brings that up a ton in his video about it which is actually a very good video about if you want to check it out um and
16:11 they use the screen real estate in the settings by if you see like the Wi-Fi or
16:15 Bluetooth setting instead of just saying Wi-Fi and Bluetooth it will say like
16:19 Wi-Fi and then in small text under that what one you're currently connected to
16:23 and Bluetooth and then what one you're currently connected to or when you look
16:26 at battery instead of it just saying battery it'll tell you the battery percentage what you're currently at
16:30 which is nice and it's similar for notifications so you pull it down and
16:33 then instead of just saying like they can't see your phone but you know no I
16:37 know I'm doing this so that I remember where things were yeah and pulling it
16:41 down instead of being able to see like maybe one message or being able to pull
16:44 it out and see like a little bit of one message you can pull it out even more
16:49 the expansion area is much bigger you can inter interact with individual ones
16:53 so if you pull your email you can archive uh immediately within
16:56 notifications individual emails instead of the entire notification so you can
17:01 open it up be like yeah that's a junk mail but I do need to read those later I
17:04 don't want to forget about it so I want to leave the notification you can do that which is nice I really wish the
17:07 default wasn't archive and I wish you could change it me too I do not want to
17:11 Archive my junk mail I don't give I actually pay for my Gmail account I
17:15 actually like will have to buy capacity for it when I run out I'm not archiving
17:20 things anyway sorry I have this exact same frustration um and then like for
17:25 Hangouts and stuff you can drag it down even a little bit more and then reply in
17:29 your notification drop down without actually pulling away from anything so
17:32 if you get like the short drop down that comes in you can click reply reply there
17:36 without opening the big app which is very nice um they add a lot of just like
17:41 usability tweaks for notifications which was really good oh apparently the camera
17:44 was flickering a little bit that's weird I saw I saw it blackout once very very
17:48 strange uh we're not dropping any frames in the Stream though not not a whole lot
17:51 I can do about it right now sorry guys um so it's got a multi- window mode um
17:56 direct reply notification sounds cool I I don't know anything about this but I
18:01 hope that whatever is coming for Android Wear does a way better job of
18:06 synchronizing um items that you've read items that you've swiped away items
18:11 you've replied to like one of my biggest frustrations with my SmartWatch right
18:14 now is when I get a hangout or an email or something and um I I I go okay yeah
18:22 I'm going to reply by text blah blah blah Etc here's your reply that freaking
18:26 message is still un red on my phone and it's still unre on my computer I've
18:31 replied to it please synchronize this stuff a little bit better so that's been
18:35 that's been a bit of an ongoing frustration for me I saw another flicker
18:38 uh yeah I saw that I don't know how much we're going to be able to do about it like I can run out and try and like
18:42 tweak the connections but um the built-in file manager is a lot more
18:46 powerful now you can block phone numbers at the system level that is really
18:50 really good as someone whose phone number has leaked a wide variety of
18:54 times um I am pretty much limited to
18:57 Android phone makers who have a phone
19:00 number block feature to to not be able
19:04 to you get an app you can't you can get an app but it doesn't necessarily work
19:09 100% um so yeah having having that
19:13 handled at the Android level is definitely a huge thumbs up like that
19:18 shouldn't be an optional feature like telemarketers or whoever else anyone
19:22 who's calling you and shouldn't be calling you it should be as simple as never hear from this number again boom
19:27 done yeah uh night mode is back moves to
19:30 a darker theme that you can turn on and off nice I'll put that on and leave it
19:34 on permanently no more optimizing apps every time you update um yeah I like
19:42 night modes for things like like the forums like uh dark skin or night skin
19:46 or whatever you want to call it night night theme um my favorite they run dark
19:51 black night theme on everything this will be a good one for you you can set
19:56 do not disturb to automatically end when an alarm goes
19:59 off no it's too too a little too late though we've got a video coming about
20:03 that right uh I'm waiting on a product that will be a long time it's not just
20:07 waiting for shipment it's like waiting to finish development blah blah blah
20:11 blah blah so it's coming but don't wait for it but I'm going to do like the
20:15 ultimate alarm setup and one of the alarms might be swapped out cuz it's not
20:19 as good as something else that I found online like it's still I'm working on it
20:22 the first piece is definitely what will be in the video right the second piece
20:26 could work in the video but I might try to get a better one and then third third piece still has to show up and it's
20:30 being developed here's something I'd like to know cuz I
20:35 mean um hold
20:38 on like how how married to computer
20:42 technology are you guys um like would
20:45 you would you want to see a standalone review of like a high-tech alarm
20:51 clock and like I I'm not gonna I'm not going to lead you guys into an answer I
20:56 want you I want to straight up know what you guys think because it is no secret
21:01 at this point that there's not a lot of
21:04 computer stuff coming out like I don't know if you guys noticed or not but like
21:09 okay there's the Dell xps13 d x PS5 like
21:13 those are some pretty cool laptops um there's some high powerered gaming
21:16 laptops out there like you know Seager is usually good for a new laptop a new
21:21 high powerered laptop design once a year or so
21:25 um ASUS has some cool stuff coming around computex but that that only
21:29 really happens like once a year when Intel updates their micro architecture
21:33 CPUs are happening barely once a year if
21:37 is it even once a year anymore not really not really once a year graphics
21:40 cards are happening once every 18 months or so like go back and look when the
21:44 gtx980 came out was a freaking long time ago um I can review my crazy alarm clock
21:51 thing I don't know like I was just wondering like the nose are pretty high
21:55 cuz there's a there's a lot of Technology that's not necessarily a
21:59 computer and well that's why I wanted to do my fastest possible on the Su yeah
22:04 and you won that battle and I would still definitely review the SED cooker
22:09 it's uh I bought one so like when it shows up I can use it for a while and
22:14 then make a video about it I'm use it anyways so like let's let's do
22:18 that I I want to know uh the the the thing that helps me get by with stuff
22:23 like the soused cooker specifically is that uh Gabe new is one of the like
22:28 backers of it so I can just like anytime anyone's like this isn't computer Focus
22:32 I just say his name and flop his name around and then everyone's suddenly more
22:36 okay with it which is super
22:40 helpful just going to put that out there you know that's cheating it kind of
22:45 is all right I want to know who wants to see a sued cooker
22:49 review okay see that's better than alarm clock that's better than alarm clock I
22:54 think the problem is sure inventory wait no just put it back
22:59 in my area don't sign it back in um we got a warehouse helper now I think he's
23:04 kind of awesome y thumbs up thumbs up
23:09 yeah and a foot um anyways so I think
23:12 something that helps the soused cooker is the majority of people can probably
23:16 get by with just a phone alarm clock and probably don't care and then
23:21 there's I would arue people that sleep like mountains like myself I would argue
23:26 that a high percentage of our audience compared to the general
23:31 population would benefit from a stronger
23:34 alarm clock and I mean I know these are
23:38 generalizations but they're not particularly harmful or particularly
23:41 likely to be inaccurate ones Gamers stay
23:45 up later I would say than the general
23:48 population I mean you look at how you look at I mean it's not like I've never
23:52 pulled an all nighter gaming you know how many other people are up with me I'm
23:56 working on planning one right now you know how much time I mean us West Coast
24:00 people up at you know 12 you can find full servers at 3:00 a.m. pretty easily
24:05 on the East Coast so I'm kind of going you either got up at 5:20 had a shower
24:12 had your breakfast and sat down in front of your computer or you're still up um
24:17 so and when you tend to stay up late you tend to be a little bit more difficult
24:21 to wake up in the morning I would make the argument that the gamer the like
24:26 gamer grade alarm clock if you call it that if you call the video gamer grade
24:31 alarm clock question mark question mark
24:34 is it worth it top five gamer grade alarm clock holy [ __ ] which is basically
24:39 what you were planning to make but basically yeah well no I was going to do
24:43 like the stre three stage cuz they're they're each good but for different re
24:46 oh yeah no I know but we don't don't don't don't ruin it too much but it'll
24:50 be a good video it'll be a good video the one he's planning to make will be good I was just curious to see what uh
24:54 what you guys thought of like alarm clock coverage cool about the s feed
24:57 cooker is like different use cases that I want to apply for it so hopefully people click on the video before they
25:02 judge it but like cleaning socks for example um you can set it through your
25:09 uh Network so if you like VP and it's actually the heat that it produces is
25:14 lower than boiling right so if you like set it before you get home you can have
25:19 a like partially prepared meal before you get home or uh you could set up a
25:23 task scheduler on your computer and make it so that like oh you have freshly
25:28 cooked salmon or chicken or soup or whatever you want for when you wake up
25:33 in the morning it goes along with your alarm clock or like if you're gaming
25:37 just put something in a Ziploc bag drop it in there clip it leave for an hour
25:42 and a half and play games come back and like oh wow dinner's ready and
25:45 everything's done for me like there's use cases that I think people might not
25:49 immediately realize it's a way to get really good
25:52 food when you don't know how to make really good food which is like awesome
25:58 the reason why I wanted to buy it is I'm really good at cooking chicken but absolutely worthless at cooking fish and
26:03 I wanted to be able to cook fish so I was like this thing can solve my problem yeah you're like the chicken master it's
26:08 actually kind of remarkable I I've hardly I hardly saw him eat anything but
26:13 chicken for like probably a span of a
26:16 year it was like the same pack of chicken from
26:20 Costco and every once in a while I would end up eating it cuz I'd be like really
26:24 hungry or he'd like make too much and then it turns out someone didn't come
26:27 over or whatever I'd be like yeah this
26:31 is good this is some good chicken I mean I don't understand why
26:35 you don't want a little bit more variety in your life but that's fine this is
26:38 this is some good chicken I'll give you it's cheaper to buy an entire trough of chicken at a time and then if you buy
26:43 two you just freeze uh one and more than
26:46 3/4 and then you take two pieces of chicken and put them in the fridge and
26:50 you put them in the top left hand shelf and then every single time that you take one you take the one that's on the left
26:55 hand side move the one that's on the right over one position take one from
26:58 the freezer put it onto the right hand side and then you just keep churning
27:02 through so what's really funny about the system you're describing is it's actually very similar to how people who
27:06 feed their dogs and cats raw diet um
27:10 handle it so you have a deep freeze that has your so you have a weekly delivery
27:14 of raw diet so and it's individually portioned okay so you put that in the
27:18 Deep Freeze you have a fridge next to the Deep Freeze you pull that one out
27:21 that one for the next day you take what's out of the Deep Freeze and you prepare it on a daily basis so basically
27:26 you're saying yeah came up with this great system pet food
27:32 yeah basically that's actually pretty much it yeah it's it's it's effective
27:38 it's it's efficient it's it's cheap it's
27:42 economical I guess I should say got to keep going the ews yeah Mr marketing
27:47 marketing major over here um yeah so you know what I'm going
27:53 to take like 4 seconds and I'm going to just double check these connections here
27:57 because CU they should be fine I didn't touch them but that's the way it is with
28:00 the land streaming PC it doesn't matter how little you touch it it just is a bit
28:06 of a head maybe it just wants you to touch it some more yeah maybe it just
28:09 wants a wants a friendly little massage
28:13 there or whatever um all
28:16 right so what are we so gear VR yeah
28:20 this is cool um gear VR is going to be used on
28:24 roller coasters at Six Flags in the
28:27 states which is pretty crazy so they're going to do crazy stuff like that which
28:32 is cool so you could you could maybe go what could be interesting about this is
28:37 there's a couple different ways they could do it one of them could be that
28:40 okay this whole ride is now the jet
28:43 fighter roller coaster or it could be
28:47 that you're on the jet fighter roller coaster and your buddy beside you is on
28:51 the jungle theme Fun Park roller coaster
28:55 yeah I mean this is you don't necessarily have to do the same one this is this is really interesting to me
29:00 because this sort of sits in between it
29:05 looks like descent level graph like or like halflife 2 I halflife 2 I'm
29:11 thinking that that's closer to Half Life One than it is to probably yeah wow
29:17 that's bad what's really interesting about this is remember it's running on
29:20 like a phone you have to tap this like
29:23 okay when I first I'm I'll I'll give me a minute I'll let you get that lightning
29:28 god it's bad when I first saw this what I was thinking was why didn't you like
29:32 try to uh embed computers and use an
29:36 Oculus or a Vive and I'm not just saying that cuz I'm a computer PC Fanboy I know
29:41 but you're going to have to cycle out and charge phones and then like the
29:45 amount of problems you're going to have with the phones is going to be
29:48 insane yeah that's potentially valid you could remotely manage the computers and
29:53 then it would be a lot easier to have like just an IT staff making sure the
29:57 compu computers are okay than it would be to have like cycled out phones this
30:00 is a low hanging fruit though it is a low hanging fruit it also looks like ass
30:05 and you have to use a controller up here if you used a PC you could like integrate a controller into the
30:09 handlebars yeah you could again a lot of work you got be so much better hey hey I
30:15 mean you got to power you have to power your roller coaster cars at that point
30:20 so that's a big issue um what's really I was trying to think of like delivering
30:24 power through the rails or something but then that might be a safety issue oh
30:27 yeah definitely I mean this is really
30:31 cool like this to me it I know it's VR
30:35 it's VR because it's completely
30:38 immersive you want AR but to me this sort of almost sits between what I would
30:44 consider to be like like VR and AR if
30:49 the idea is that the VR experience is is
30:53 going to be tied so closely to the rails
30:56 that you're actually flying along and
30:59 the wind that is actually coming out funny if you're in a jet fighter you're
31:04 not going to feel the wind
31:08 so I think it's really yeah like it's it's it's actually see I've got people
31:12 are already debating it in twitch chat it is VR it is it it falls within VR
31:17 definitely VR but it sits closer to the closer to the edge where where it might
31:23 be closer to AR than than just pure VR
31:27 where you're sitting in technically all of them are a form of AR yes so like it
31:34 depends on how exact you want to be with the terminology but how most people say
31:39 it when they're in conversational tones is that virtual reality is with a screen
31:43 completely covering your eyes and with no visual input of the outside and
31:47 augmented reality is placing images on top of what you're seeing out there
31:52 that's not really 100% how it works and this potentially sits between because us
31:57 using something like the camera on the phone or whatever else as as technology
32:01 like this develops I can definitely see
32:04 it sitting somewhere in between where you might have you might have elements
32:10 that are captured by the camera and
32:13 motion track or whatever else that are injected into the virtual reality
32:16 experience so really cool lots of potential it looks a little bit weird
32:22 right now but looks a little bit crafty yeah it looks a little bit okay well I
32:26 was trying to be nice okay it looks kind of rubbish right now but very cool
32:30 Theory though they need more power and I'm a little bit I understand that it's
32:34 way easier to use the phones cuz there requires no change to the actual ride at
32:38 all yep so they just have to figure out implementations for the phones but like
32:42 and they just have to like they would almost you could almost just like kind of time it yeah cuz yeah roller coaster
32:49 is going to be going to be predictable to within like a pretty small margin it
32:54 won't be exactly identical every time but it will be a small enough margin that it won't matter yeah um yeah I just
33:01 really wish there was more power behind them and whatever that ends up being VI
33:05 Oculus doesn't matter but I think one of those deserves to be in that position
33:09 and I think one of those eventually will be I think having a phone powering it
33:13 isn't really enough at the same time the like cheap
33:19 tricks kind of style of amusement park rides might actually be okay for
33:24 phones I just hope that it's good enough that people are interested in VR and
33:28 then want to pursue it after they have that experience and I hope it's not bad
33:33 enough that people are like well that was kind of trash I just want to do the normal roller coaster because if that
33:38 happens then they might not be interested in VR yeah I mean it's going to take a long time for VR VR acceptance
33:44 to uh to to really take off I don't mind
33:47 it taking a long time I just don't want anything to negatively impact it
33:51 right all right so uh here we go this is
33:55 an interesting article posted by I see girl on The Forum and this is looking
34:00 pretty unfortunate uh France to punish
34:04 companies for refusing to decrypt devices now to be clear this has not
34:08 passed into law yet but this comes on
34:12 the heels of France tightening
34:17 up I've got some people saying there's an
34:21 echo um H that's very
34:25 strange okay well there shouldn't be an echo now
34:29 at any rate um so this comes uh this comes on the heels of France tightening
34:34 up um well really a lot of the anonymity
34:38 and encryption laws so they've recently looked into Banning the anonymous
34:42 Network tour and blocking Wi-Fi during
34:46 special situations they have um the hold
34:51 on a second go ahead make your make your way
34:54 through this one because I need to figure out what's going on
34:57 um this is like one of the few that I didn't read a ton latest step in
35:02 security push was accepting an amendment to a bill that would make companies like
35:06 apple who are actively fighting the FBI or modifying their software to break an
35:09 iPhone we talked about that uh not even that long ago break into an iPhone with
35:14 oh yeah sorry uh with Mr maffy saying
35:17 that like oh I'll do it in a weekend or whatever it was that he said and then
35:22 coming back on that claim and then coming back on coming back on that claim
35:25 and whatever the hell happened um but France is looking to be a little
35:29 bit more aggressive about it so the potential here is that they might be
35:33 forced to pay a fine which doesn't sound super horrible um but how many times
35:37 would they have to pay that fine if they if they don't decrypt one device is that
35:41 one but if they don't decrypt 100,000 do they have to pay the fine 100,000 times
35:45 who knows um or face five years in jail
35:48 if they refuse now who would face five years in jail I don't think that's
35:52 extremely clear but this isn't exactly a thing yet so that's probably fine um the
35:58 they're only in the stage of like the Bill's first reading so this is pretty
36:03 early on but maybe people in France should start trying to stop this from
36:08 happening uh I would hate to see this be the beginning of
36:12 terribleness echo there was no Echo yeah and I didn't change anything I think
36:17 people started to troll because a whole bunch of people were also saying there is no
36:21 Echo ah it could have also been a twitch issue or that I mean
36:27 Let's uh let's let's face it that's not not completely an impossibility
36:33 true so oh wait I still have the oh crap
36:36 I forgot to change back to side of this
36:40 might be that companies might not be super happy about doing any amount of
36:44 business in France because if jail time and fines are hanging over their heads
36:49 if they don't like sacrifice their customers privacy that might be an issue
36:53 yeah I could see just pulling out of France entirely I mean and the thing is
36:57 like uh who was it that said this was it apple or someone else uh who was
37:02 basically like you're leaning away from them Sor if we made this software uh or
37:07 we made this version of an operating system that decrypted everything uh you
37:11 would be able to use that on more than just one phone so that's scary too
37:16 because if France holds this above people like apple then Apple does make
37:20 that version of the operating system that could easily go
37:24 to uh someone else like the states or whatever other country because they kind
37:28 of work together and stuff not
37:32 fun yeah yeah I don't know what the
37:36 issue is with that um with the capture card I'm sorry guys there is nothing I
37:39 can do about that other than stopping the stream diagnosing it which will be
37:44 very difficult because it's very no there's no Echo um the flicker there's
37:48 really nothing I can do about it though yes um speaking of
37:54 flickering we've got our Spong spons Squarespace is the place to go if
38:00 you feel like you should build a website
38:04 one that is designed for people who want to learn about you or learn about the
38:09 company that you run or the product you make and whether you want to you know
38:15 just simplify your life a little bit in terms of managing the website or whether
38:20 you want to just keep your website
38:23 online more often you should consider trying SP Squarespace because they
38:28 really do make it easy they've got 247 tech support it starts at only $8 a
38:32 month it features responsive design so whether you want to run it on your
38:36 desktop your laptop your mobile phone or
38:39 whatever the case may be you should try
38:43 start a trial with no credit card required and start building your website
38:46 today and by the way if you do decide to
38:50 go ahead and buy Squarespace you should use our offer code which is Linus to get
38:54 10% off your first purchase okay I just thought about this mhm but Squarespace
38:59 if they wanted to make like a um like
39:03 Thrift version of their product uhhuh I don't know I don't know what that would
39:07 be maybe it's only like a few potential triangle
39:11 space line space spare space spare space
39:14 cuz you you slight almost screwed up the word and said spare instead of square
39:19 but it actually totally would make sense spare space spare space it sounds like a
39:23 cloud storage service oh it totally kind of does
39:27 yeah so like if they wanted to make it so that like with your Squarespace
39:31 account you get a certain amount of storage that goes along with it yeah
39:35 like you you get a you get a website and you get backup for your business yeah
39:39 they could call it spares space spares space spares
39:43 space.com Linus don't go there I don't know what that
39:48 is probably not um tunnel bear tunnel
39:51 bear is the easy to use VPN app for mobile and desktop the tunnel bear VPN
39:55 lets you tunnel to 20 different
39:59 countries allowing you to browse the internet and use online services whether
40:03 it's managing your website or whether it's uh you know uh doing accounting for
40:08 your small business whatever the case may be as though you're in a different
40:12 country they've got easy to use apps for iOS Android PC and Mac they also have a
40:17 Chrome extension you just select a country in the app and it actually like
40:21 it really is designed to be so easy my grandma can do it because once once it's
40:26 installed it it it actually looks like a physical button yeah and you just turn
40:31 the button from on to off or vice versa it worked so your connection gets
40:37 encrypted at that point and your public IP address gets switched so you show up
40:40 as if you're coming from somewhere else and tunnel bear lets you bypass speaking
40:45 of being easy to use all the annoying details that typically come with a VPN
40:48 for personal use so Port configurations DNS or other nonsense like that they've
40:53 got a top rated privacy policy and they do not log user activ ity so you can try
40:57 out tunnel bear for free with 500 Megs
41:00 of free data with no credit card required over at tunnel bear.com
41:05 slw and speaking of say for example you
41:08 were doing your you know small business work or whatever else totally
41:12 anonymously although I don't really see the point because you're
41:16 like probably well
41:19 h mean any benefit to having that
41:23 encrypted in Flight not really yeah I
41:26 don't know like your small business you know receipts yeah yeah well anyway
41:31 because maybe there's a maybe there's a trick to your trade like my mom when she
41:35 was a dog gromer would buy a specific type of soap and then mix it with water
41:40 to uh cuz it wasn't actually initially intended for dogs and
41:45 she would dilute it and then it was actually really good and people really liked it they loved the smell of the
41:49 dogs when they left the doging shop but that was like her trick of the trade so
41:52 she didn't want to tell anybody Secret Sauce so to speak yes exactly so so
41:56 maybe you don't want people to know your secret sauce or specifically if you're
42:00 doing cooking stuff maybe you don't want people to know exactly what's in your I don't know how many dog groomers engage
42:04 in the kind of corporate Espionage who knows who knows pretty like Cutthroat
42:09 field fresh books is the easy to use invoicing software that helps small
42:13 businesses look professional and get paid faster so whether we're talking dog
42:17 grooming business or or Plumbing or you
42:20 know dance dance classes or um I'm just
42:24 trying to think of other things your parents have done uh bag making clothing
42:30 making cigar knickknack uh knickknack
42:35 building and selling um uh uh I'm
42:38 probably missing things um buying buying like discarded stuff
42:43 and like crafting it into something decorative and and reselling that so
42:48 whatever your small business happens to be freshbooks makes it easy to manage
42:52 you can track your expenses you can create invoices you can build customer
42:56 customers you can see that they saw your bill and they can pay you right through
42:59 freshbooks you can take deposits and it's all done through a mobile app that
43:04 enables you to spend your time running your business instead of doing
43:09 accounting which is a total drag so visit freshbooks.com when and enter when
43:14 in the how did You Hear About Us section when you sign up for the free trial oh
43:18 and they just got a Mobile card reader so now you can take credit cards in
43:23 person pretty cool yay all right let's
43:26 move on to our next topic here the Manis VR gloves this was posted by L3 IG will
43:32 I3 IG will on the far anyway whatever the original article is from n Gadget
43:37 use your fingers to play in Vibes world
43:40 with the Manis VR glove goes on sale
43:44 this year for $250 so have you looked at this thing
43:47 and my friends my friends if you thought
43:51 that the VR headset was unreasonable and
43:56 expensive and going to break the bank
43:59 let me tell you friend let me tell you
44:02 friend that is nothing compared to all
44:06 of the accessories you thought we was bad yeah
44:11 just wait man just just wait so so this
44:14 picture is a little bit misleading um now if I can point with
44:19 your mouse yeah I'm just trying to figure out what the crap people are talking about
44:23 okay um so I'm going to point with your so this area right here shows like a
44:29 little strap thing and then another strap thing but there's nothing under
44:33 them which is why this picture is misleading if you scroll down and we
44:37 watch this video and then mute it right away and then jump forward you'll see
44:43 that there is stuff under the strap things and if I pause right here oh uh
44:48 there you can see right here there's a
44:51 big thing coming off of his ARM and right here there's a big thing coming or
44:56 is it there right here no that's his hand oh right here there's a big thing
44:59 coming off his ARM those straps are so that you can strap in the
45:04 entire um Vive
45:07 controller each one of your back the tops of your forearms has to have the
45:12 entire controller stra to it
45:15 so yeah pretty
45:19 cool but I still think it needs to go a
45:22 little bit further cuz I don't know about having like and and in there it
45:27 shows the original ones now there's
45:31 they're actually bigger and have the big ring and all that kind of stuff so
45:34 they're going to be even a little bit more cumbersome to have strapped to the
45:37 back of your wrist and in order to have gloves in VR with this setup at $0
45:44 whatever dollars you still need to use the included controllers they're not a
45:47 replacement right and they have to be strapped like to your wrist like you
45:51 can't like have them on your hips or anything at least as far as I can tell
45:55 so so yeah and they show you playing Surgeon Simulator and he has a few times
46:01 when he's trying to pick something up that being said the controls and Surgeon Simulator aren't like amazing so that
46:06 might actually be the problem not the gloves and another thing that I thought
46:09 of was I was trying to think about my experience with the touch controller the
46:13 Oculus touch controller and compare it to this one of my frustrations with the
46:17 touch controller was especially when you're not holding anything having the
46:21 touch controller in your hand is weird cuz you're in the game you're not
46:24 holding anything and you're in real life you are holding something then when you go to pick something up you pick it up
46:28 with like a couple of your fingers not all of them cuz you still have to have
46:32 the controller in your hands so that's a little weird because you're constantly
46:35 holding this thing that you're not actually holding in the game these have
46:39 the opposite problem when you're not holding anything they're going to be
46:43 great cuz you're not holding anything right virtually or in reality and that's
46:47 awesome but the second you got to pick something up you're now holding an
46:50 invisible object that doesn't have weight texture or feeling at all and
46:54 you're swinging a sword and there's nothing in your hand what was really
46:58 nice about the touch controllers was when I was holding a gun I was holding
47:01 something that felt like a handle and pulling a trigger which was cool but
47:06 then they felt really Derpy when I was kind of picking something up or not
47:10 holding something so they each have their own
47:13 strength and yeah I don't know about
47:16 that I think a cool combination would be like a touch style controller that has
47:21 triggers and whatnot that you could like holster and gloves right so it has like
47:26 really really really good input for your hands but then you can also hold
47:31 something and just a game focused around like you always pick stuff up off your
47:34 holster or whatever and I'm sure we're going to have to we're going to have to
47:38 wait for we're going to have to wait for something like that because and I don't
47:41 want the freaking controller strapped on my wrist cuz that's ridiculous right so
47:45 it's cool but I don't
47:50 know chat's hilarious it's like what do you guys what do you guys want me to do
47:54 you guys troll me half the time I literally checked I watched the stream
47:59 there was not an echo
48:03 so yeah so I don't really know what to
48:06 tell you and yes I'm aware of the flicker as we've said before we should
48:09 just ban the word flicker I know I know there's a flicker there's literally
48:13 nothing I can do it probably requires like a restart or something it's probably the uh capture card being derp
48:18 or something capture card or the camera I think I don't think it's the computer
48:21 yeah I don't think no it's nothing to do with the computer cuz we're not dropping any frames or anything like that so it
48:25 is what it is and there you go un um all
48:29 right so let's go ahead and yeah let's move on to our next topic
48:34 here building living breathing
48:37 supercomputers this is posted by Tron on the Forum uh original article here is
48:43 from mcgill.ca so that's migil
48:47 University awesome all right I didn't notice that
48:52 go Mill yeah dog Che out those SSD
48:55 servers in the Rex so sexy Discovery opens doors to the
49:01 creation of biological supercomputers that are about the size of a
49:06 book pretty freaking cool the substance that provides energy to all
49:11 the there is Echo when he's screen
49:15 sharing um for the first 20 seconds and
49:18 then it stops for the first 20 seconds is and then it stops which makes no
49:22 sense it does and isn't really something that I can that I can do anything about
49:27 I think part of the problem might be that like I've got this computer muted
49:30 actually thanks ders like you can actually you can actually see so it's
49:34 it's something glitching out you can see in the bottom corner this is actually
49:38 muted it is muted so there's literally nothing that I am doing here that is a
49:43 thing so is it a from it shouldn't be
49:47 with that said it may also be related to the Flicker and it is very very subtle
49:52 so life goes on we are finishing the show yes
49:56 um okay so what else we've got for have we got for notes on this one so it
50:00 relies on adenosine triphosphate ATP same thing that provides energy to cells
50:04 in our bodies and it's an international team of researchers they published an
50:09 article on the subject earlier this week in the proceedings of the National
50:12 Academy of Sciences so they're describing a model of biological
50:16 computer that they have made it's able to process information very quickly and
50:21 accurately using parallel networks in the same way that large supercomputers
50:24 do it's it's largely a proof of concept uh they've managed to create a very
50:28 complex Network in a very small area which is sweet um and it's kind of like
50:32 a first step in showing how a biological
50:36 supercomputer could work but it's it's
50:40 yeah it's a proof of concept it's very cool but it's not like really a thing
50:45 yet I don't know what to do about twitch shot they're like you fixed it I did
50:49 nothing I I literally did nothing yeah so I think it's to do with the flicker I
50:54 think the camera I think it's probably the camera based on that the flicker
50:58 seems to be related to camera like not even way too long ago didn't it like
51:01 overheat or something no I don't well maybe 50% chance one of them did but
51:05 that was like once like over a year ago so I don't know oh no I thought like a
51:09 few months ago it overheated or something okay okay so this is cool uh
51:13 you know those all those videos I've been doing with unraid where we've been
51:17 like seven Gamers uh gaming NZ um some of the stuff I've shown off
51:23 with their with their dual parody um where you you can have you can build
51:28 your array and you can have two parody drives uh with all the usual benefits of
51:32 unraid like for example um even if you were to lose three or four drives in a
51:37 dual parody setup all the data that's on the remaining drives is actually still
51:42 there so there's a lot of really cool stuff about it they have finally
51:47 released the 6.2 public beta so all the
51:51 content that I've done on unraid has actually been using pre beta like
51:57 pre-release builds of 6.2 beta um since
52:01 the very start so a lot of the stuff that I've shown and I've had people ask
52:05 me like oh where's that feature or where's that menu or whatever else it is
52:09 finally available so if you guys want to try it out then that is the time to do
52:14 it people keep telling us to turn off the mic to my knowledge you cannot turn
52:17 off the mic on the Blackmagic Cinema Camera thank you for the suggestion
52:21 we're done with that conversation now um
52:26 yeah I guess that's pretty much it they increased the device limits for the
52:29 trial which is pretty cool so you're no longer limited cuz like that's one of
52:33 the things I I even told them I was like why would you have a three device or
52:37 five device limit or whatever it is on your trial because if I'm running a
52:41 trial of a software I want to know if it works and if I have eight drives then I
52:45 need to know if eight drives is going to work okay um so they increased that they
52:50 added dual parody support it now has a gooey boot mode so it doesn't only boot
52:54 to command line so you can actually sit in front of that computer and access the
52:59 web browser and the web goey without necessarily navigating to it over the
53:02 network makes it much easier to diagnose something like a bad network card yeah
53:09 or or if un raid grabs one of your Nicks and not the other one and you're trying
53:13 to find it by host name that doesn't it's not always the most reliable thing
53:16 so that's really nice um they've made some improvements to Docker um so if
53:21 you're not familiar with it Docker is not unique to unraid but it allows you
53:24 to to run um run these these Docker
53:28 applications within walled Gardens within your operating system so they
53:32 can't really brick anything else it's better than the old plug-in system um
53:36 major upgrades to VMS that's like half of the release notes and general storage
53:41 performance improvements not to mention that it now I don't know if they've
53:44 actually got this in the release notes no it's not in the release notes but it
53:48 has NVMe support oh nice so I will be
53:52 donking around with that um and that will be pretty freaking
53:58 cool I excited um what else we
54:02 got oh okay well this is good uh one
54:06 world computing OWC stupid has finally
54:09 released an SSD no this is this is a thing um when I was I was trying to
54:14 upgrade an SSD in some in some apple thing at some point and I was blown away
54:19 by like the fact that you just couldn't get an SSD so there's f finally an
54:25 upgrade for MacBook Pro and MacBook Air PCI Express ssds that doesn't cost as
54:30 much as a laptop that's ridiculous um so
54:33 it's
54:55 air can be configured with up to 512 gigs now you can have 960 gigs in a
54:59 MacBook Air if you want a MacBook Air that's worth like $3500 by that point
55:04 $3,000 I don't know the Canadian rupie has made it very difficult for me to uh
55:10 for me to deal with with price yeah with
55:14 anything really God like living is really expensive right now yeah
55:18 everything has gotten more expensive fresh fruit uh whatever else the case
55:22 may be yeah fresh fruit is like I love
55:25 people's theories it's his phone head headset which is plugged
55:35 in it's like basically undoubtedly the
55:38 camera y I think it's the camera resetting and it's probably turning the mic on and or off or glitching it out or
55:44 something like and like I've gotten I've got a couple guys from my stream that
55:49 are messaging me and like apparently um
55:52 the the camera will start losing focus right right before it goes black and
55:56 then there's audio issues close to that so like it's all we're we're getting it
56:00 down but like don't worry about it for this stream we'll figure it out later
56:04 there's something going on with the camera itself so this is pretty crazy
56:07 this was posted by aluminum Tech on the Forum sorry I just said thanks to one of
56:12 the guys oh okay uh aluminum Tech on the form one plus apparently paid
56:19 $300,000 to get their phones into House
56:23 of Cards wow I mean I knew that product placement
56:29 deals were worth a lot of money we've never gotten a deal like I I
56:36 don't actually product we've done a couple things so we've done um using
56:41 laptops on wnow okay um we've done that also had a
56:45 banner like yeah but it also had a banner I don't I don't think we've ever
56:49 done a just a pure product placement deal like every product placement deal
56:53 we've done has ALS also been a very blatant sponsorship at the same time as
56:58 as know because like debrand for spr crowd Wars was very clear there was
57:03 dbrand integration this episode of scrapyard Wars brought to you by dbrand
57:07 and we happened to be using dbrand stuff like like yeah yeah so I I mean I knew
57:14 on some level that product placement was
57:18 big business I had no idea it could be
57:21 worth like well deep into six figures that is freaking incredible you know
57:26 what kind of although like if you look at the Jurassic Park did did you watch
57:31 Jurassic Park or Jurassic world I never did I need to see it oh man there's some
57:35 like that's some of the most blatant worse than Transformers I don't really watch
57:40 Transformers did you see the first one even I think it I remember i' I've seen
57:46 the first one and I think I remember being surprised by the stuff in the
57:50 first one but like Jurassic world was probably the most aggressive brand in
57:54 integration I've ever seen did you see uh buildings named after companies like
57:58 everything yeah did you see Hotel Transylvania too no oh okay the uh the
58:05 Sony Xperia phone product placement is
58:08 kind of hilarious do they like make it funny or
58:13 it it was pretty well done okay like uh
58:17 Dracula does not know how to use phone ha like they they they do an okay job
58:22 like that's cool the the Jurassic World stuff was like like I think if I
58:26 remember correctly it was it was Mercedes is one of their sponsors and
58:30 like one time like a Mercedes car is like bursting through something and like
58:34 everything's dirty and exploding but you can see the logo like nice and shiny
58:37 right in the middle like it like it's it's pretty rough like here let me see
58:42 if there there's
58:47 probably I I remember like constantly throughout the whole movie I was just
58:50 like wow yeah it looks like Mercedes so they're not the only Chinese
58:55 company to put product placements in US TV shows and movies uh Oppo partnered
58:59 with America's Next Top Model last year uh Vivo Electronics put the X5 Pro in
59:03 the Martian but the thing that really baffles me about OnePlus doing this is
59:10 that I thought oneplus's whole stick oh
59:13 wow that's awful um I thought oneplus's whole stick was we save money on
59:21 marketing and PR costs and pass to the
59:25 user I thought that was the whole
59:29 point interesting wasn't it supposed to be like oh we run really lean so that we
59:34 can provide you with the best phone at the lowest price I mean it's it's it's
59:39 pretty obvious based on the OnePlus 2 that that didn't happen the second time
59:43 around well now we know why because they went okay we're only going to get as big
59:47 as we can get without marketing marketing Works whether you like it or
59:52 not so that's that's like I'm willing to bet actually I don't know if I can give
59:56 them credit for this I'm not sure they're that organized but I'm willing
59:59 to bet that someone somewhere within one
60:03 plus had a concept that went okay you're aggressive loss leader you gain the Mind
60:09 share amongst the enthusiasts they recommend it to their friends okay
60:12 people have heard of OnePlus that's step one re brand recognition then you
60:17 reinforce you reinforce you reinforce you have to actually market and you have
60:22 to you have to make some margin on the product in order to make that happen so
60:28 there you go that happened another thing that happened this was posted by command
60:32 man 7 on the Forum original article here is from Kaku this is a super bummer uh
60:37 Microsoft cancels Fable Legends which is like kind of a drag for just just from
60:43 like a technical standpoint I mean Fable Legends was what I was seeing the vast
60:46 majority of the directx12 demos that didn't look like a pure Tech demo yeah
60:51 done in like there was some really cool it was it was their showpiece for like a
60:55 really long time yeah I saw some cool direct X12 demos that were done in Fable
60:59 Legends um total bummer and this is also
61:04 they mentioned proposed closure of lion
61:07 head Studios which I mean you could make
61:11 the argument lion head hasn't done much
61:14 in the last few years um there's a lot
61:17 of black and white fans out there I personally never got into it I tried
61:22 really hard to like black and white I bought it and I
61:27 just played it a little bit and I was like okay so it's an RTS but like not
61:32 quite an RTS it's like slightly different okay uh like I never really
61:36 got it but I loved Fable one um never
61:40 really played much of Fable 2 I loved Fable one I think that's a pretty and
61:45 that might but that was a long spell the ending too is a lot of people when they
61:49 think about uh Fable go like yeah Fable
61:53 one was a really awesome game a lot of people loved Fable 2 I know but most
61:58 people hark back to Fable one Fable one I really really enjoyed
62:05 um oh that's funny I just got a just got
62:08 a message just from some random buddy uh oneplus's phones are invisible in House
62:13 of Cards I actually haven't watched I I own the first season on on Blu-ray like
62:17 I'm super stoked to watch it anyway um
62:20 invisible in House of Cards I actually thought they didn't pay for product
62:25 placement CU I only recognize them because I'm familiar with them that's
62:29 something that I will say the Hotel Transylvania Sony Experia integration
62:33 did really well like it didn't bother me because they almost it almost seemed so
62:38 blatant that they were just like you know what it's Sony Pictures bro you
62:43 don't want to see an experior phone don't come watch a Sony Pictures movie
62:46 We're desperate bro and like there can be something to
62:51 be said for that because if if you're able to
62:54 make fun of it in a positive way so that it becomes an actually good part of the
62:58 story then cool good job yeah winner
63:01 whereas if it's just like if it's almost so subtle that you only notice if you
63:05 already have a OnePlus phone then I don't really understand what the point
63:09 is yeah um rumor and I was actually G to say I I
63:15 I know you jumped on the like oh they were supposed to not spend anything blah
63:19 blah blah I think 300 Grand to get in House of
63:23 Cards might not even be that much but it might have cost a lot more to get it
63:27 actually be noticeable that's what I mean like like I bet you Mercedes or I
63:31 think I think go Mercedes and Samsung I think Mercedes and Samsung for Jurassic
63:36 world probably spent way more because I remember throughout the whole movie it
63:39 was like wow that is Mercedes and it is
63:43 all over the screen and wow that is a Samsung phone and they're making it very
63:48 clear that that is a Samsung phone I think it was Samsung whatever phone they
63:52 used apparently it didn't work on you then well I watched the movie a long
63:55 time ago whatever well it couldn't have been that long ago it came out like months not years ago how long ago did
64:00 Jurassic come out sometimes I wonder what your concept
64:04 of time it's bad is like I know it's really bad um I've got a yeah June that
64:11 was a while ago it was like 9 months yeah nine months is quite a while ago so
64:15 like what human period yeah yeah basically Luke cannot
64:20 remember anything so by the time you know his I remember that his theoretical
64:25 wife would have a theoretical child he wouldn't remember having had
64:30 sex okay that's a little aggressive I
64:33 remember that it happened oh that's not going to get
64:38 better
64:46 okay um well that was a close call
64:49 there uh yes it was Samsung so I was
64:53 right
64:57 yeah and they called it like the Samsung Innovation Center and like there was a
65:01 lot of other yeah like it was really bad okay I really want to watch it still um
65:06 all right so new news original article here is from our this happens so
65:10 everyone starts recording it on their phones oh wow that are like like it was
65:14 really bad so our buddies over at PC
65:17 perspective rumor NVIDIA's next GPU
65:21 called is that a multifan cre
65:24 coer I don't know what's going on may not necessarily that just might be a new
65:28 bezel sty next GPU called GTX 1080 uses
65:32 GDDR 5x so GDDR 5x is that slightly
65:36 faster gddr5 but not uh but not
65:42 hbm2 yeah so what this means to me so
65:45 the card so here we go here's the rumor so the rumor Source comes from bench
65:50 life and the report claims it will be called the GTX 10 108 U core with 8 gigs
65:56 of called either the wait
65:59 what uh oh I think this is just a typo
66:03 1080 or 1800 or something is what the name's but okay whatever anyway it
66:07 apparently we'll have 8 gigs of gdr 5x and not
66:11 hbm2 um using we launch on May 27th uh we'll
66:17 feature a GP 104 Pascal GPU umah blah 18 pin connect
66:24 one DVI one HDMI two DisplayPort that's a weird one
66:29 and why is that Weir the first so so basically What's Happening Here is the
66:34 cycle will continue this is this is the takeaway so if you were hoping that the
66:39 GTX 1080 or whatever they end up calling it was going to be the savior of
66:45 high-end VR Gamers and uh you know people who want a
66:49 legitimate upgrade from the GTX 980 tie
66:53 don't expect that it might be a small upgrade much like we've seen with the
66:59 GTX um what did they launch first in 700
67:04 series well did they launch the 770
67:07 first I can't remember the 7 the 780 is
67:11 significantly worse than the 780 Ti or
67:14 no or they're close no no 780 is big big
67:19 Kepler but I think crap I can't remember it is I think it is yeah because 6 right
67:24 680 is Kepler architecture as well okay I'm I'm getting it all sorted out of my
67:27 head so what we're seeing again is the step down GPU being marketed as a
67:34 flagship and we're just going to have to wait until significantly later when
67:38 whether it's a Titan or whether it's a Thai card or whether it's a a 1090 or
67:44 whatever they end up branding it someone's very mad at you for calling it taii that's legitimate very specifically
67:50 saying that you have to say TI No it's actually not um titanium it stands for
67:55 titanium NVIDIA internally calls it Tha yes at every press event they tell us to
68:00 call it Tha I usually refuse to call it Tai because I think it sounds ridiculous
68:03 I usually call it TI as well but that doesn't change the fact that it is correct much like the way I say Aus is
68:08 the correct way to say Aus even though I think it should be Asis
68:12 ASUS so I'm sorry it's Tai so whatever
68:16 they end up calling it we are not getting a legitimate upgrade to the 980
68:19 tie until we get something else so this
68:23 is going to be more like the spiritual successor to the 980 which is a small
68:28 Max like a well a mediumsized Maxwell versus a big
68:32 Maxwell so that's super a bummer I'm
68:35 super disappointed it makes sense I mean hbm2 is not ready yet anyway mass
68:40 production I don't believe is even remotely anywhere near started so makes
68:45 perfect sense but yeah I'm I'm disappointed it means
68:50 that running a Titan X like I am I'm not looking at upgrading for many more
68:54 months to come yeah you're running 90s in SLI
68:58 right yes so you're bone too yep yeah because that's the general rule that's
69:03 the way that it's always well I don't want to say always been in the past because it's it's not always the case
69:07 but but the general rule wasli of last
69:11 high-end was pretty darn close to a single one of the new high-end and that
69:16 fell off that fell off the board a little bit in the 600 700 series because
69:21 they were actually based on the same micro architecture um NVIDIA just kind
69:25 of Unleashed their big their big GPU and
69:28 was like new flagships series um but they had no choice at the time we
69:32 weren't getting any process node shrinks so now we're getting a process node
69:35 shrink so what you're probably looking at is since this is a direct replacement
69:39 card is about the performance of a couple 980s in SLI assuming non-perfect
69:44 scaling it's not going to be twice as fast as a 980 so probably like 140 to
69:48 160% as fast and probably similar in terms of pricing to what the 980 was
69:52 when it launched that's my assumption we should do that video I was talking about
69:55 which one is that I can't oh okay well yeah that doesn't help me then the
70:01 uh you know that thing we should do that thing I actually thought you might have
70:05 uh we should do that thing that you uh were saying we should do maybe after
70:08 wena when the cameras are off um yeah
70:12 that's actually not a that's actually not a bad idea it' be pretty funny um
70:16 let's see what else we got here I don't know I think that's that's
70:22 pretty much all I have to say maybe we can spare you guys the uh spare you guys
70:26 the the the flickers pretty quick here so one more one more one more what do
70:31 you want to do the division of is ubisoft's fastest selling game wow exact
70:36 sales numbers not known at this time the original article here is from
70:40 Gamespot that is pretty incredible yes there is one
70:45 um wow set digital sales records across
70:49 the game's available platforms and ubisoft's managing director said that
70:54 the studio is quotee unquote extremely happy with the division's launch just
71:00 solidifying that all they care about his sales numbers
71:03 huh that is incredible how many other games does Ubisoft make that are
71:09 excessively multiplayer
71:13 focused is it like
71:18 nothing cuz everything I can really think of has a very strong leading
71:23 single player element yeah your Assassin's Creed your watch dogs so most
71:27 things that they make are not really on a timer in terms of buying it because a
71:31 lot of multiplayer games especially like this which aren't going to go into a
71:35 competitive scene in terms of like people watching it are on somewhat of a
71:39 timer your friends will buy it play for a while and stop playing so I think one
71:43 of the reasons why it is their fastest selling game is everyone's like are you
71:46 playing it are you playing it are you playing it yes okay let's get it now and
71:49 then they're going to play it for a while and then drop it get bed instead of a single player game where it's like
71:53 well I still want to finish the sequel and maybe if I wait until I'm done the
71:57 sequel It's going to be cheaper than me pre prequel yes sorry yeah or like I've
72:01 got I've got all these games queued up I still haven't played Just Cause 2 so I
72:06 didn't buy Just Cause 3 exactly yeah I
72:10 really need to play Just Cause 2 I know that but I really don't want cuz it
72:15 really if there's one thing that makes a game feel old it's playing the sequel
72:21 first yeah like I am going like there's
72:25 very few games where I'm legitimately going to make my son play the old one
72:28 first but early final fantasies is one of the ones I'm going to be like no I am
72:33 not you may not turn on an Xbox One a
72:36 PlayStation 4 a PlayStation 3 a
72:40 PlayStation 2 even you may not turn any of those things on until you have played
72:45 some of the older 2D final fantasies end
72:48 of story um yeah I I have an idea for for a
72:53 stream that I want to do eventually but I don't want to say it uh right now cuz
72:57 I don't want someone to steal the idea but it has to do with like praying playing prequels first and all this kind
73:01 of stuff but yeah yeah all right well thank you guys very much for tuning into
73:04 to the W show we're sorry for the technical difficulties what we'll probably do is just flat out replace
73:09 that camera for next week and see if that helps um it it is what it is we've
73:13 never had that issue before so it's like that every week there's always some
73:18 brand new issue we've never had I even said to Luke the computer was good this week yeah I said to Luke when we set up
73:22 all I did was fire it up plug in my laptop and I was like wow this is
73:26 working perfectly yeah all right see you guys
73:31 next week same bad time same bat Channel doing a game stream tonight sick nice
