0:00 I've been promising to do this for a while you can see that's a box of hard
0:04 drives and here we have that Norco case that I promised I'd do just a stupid
0:09 raid build in and that's what I've been working on for the last little bit here
0:13 so in terms of the hardware specs we've got an antech 1200 wat power supply
0:18 we've got a DFI x58 board 4 gigs of ddr2
0:21 RAM we've got a fairly low-end uh Core 2
0:24 Duo processor in there and then probably the most expensive piece of this entire
0:29 build is this guy right here this is an arka 24 Port raid card with 512 Megs of
0:36 RAM on it you can actually replace that with more RAM if you feel like it it's
0:40 got a high-end processor and we're using sff 887 cables to connect to the back
0:47 planes that are built into this Norco chassis so I'm going to I think that
0:51 covers pretty much everything I got I got kind of a basic video card in here
0:55 and uh this is just an in progress shot so you can see I've actually just just
1:00 begun to install hard drives in here so I've got two Western Digital 1 tbte
1:05 black drives and that's it so far so I'm
1:08 going to be installing another 22 drives
1:12 so that means uh depending on how we configure it we can have up to a 24
1:16 terte raid zero hard drive partition so
1:20 uh yeah that's pretty cool don't you think and uh I guess that's all there is
1:26 to say about it for now we're just going to I'm not sure what I'm trying to
1:29 accomplish with this it's just like I had this casee and like I had this card
1:33 and I was like okay well what kind of stupid voodoo magic thing can we do with
1:38 this and this is what I came up with so stay tuned
