0:00 The Cooler Master neptun 280l continues
0:03 a happy Trend that we've seen developing recently it takes the status quo that is
0:08 radiators designed for 120 mm fans and
0:12 amps it up a notch it uses two 14mm
0:16 Cooler Master jet flow fans to cover the massive surface area of its 280 mm long
0:22 radiator speaking of status quo instead of rebranding a design from Acer coolit
0:27 Cooler Master uses their own pump and an ultra fine microchannel water block
0:32 design giving them full control over the performance and quality of these
0:35 components but does it translate into the real world I guess we'll find
0:45 out with its Factory tuning and data center DNA an Intel 730 series SSD is an
0:51 amazing choice for gamers and performance enthusiasts so I'm going to
0:55 start this off with a couple of things that I actually don't really like about
0:59 this they're jet flow fans have great specs but and this goes for all liquid
1:06 cooling manufacturers why do they have rounded
1:10 frames see this Gap see this Gap right
1:14 here we did a test on another liquid cooler that uses pressure optimized
1:19 round frame fans where we use duct tape to cover the gaps and guess what we got
1:23 a couple degrees lower temperatures for our effort because duct tape for sealing
1:29 gaps to achieve optimal air flow please no gaps please Cooler Master and
1:33 everyone else for that matter square frame fans for radiators that is lonus
1:38 law number 347 anyway there's another one use of an
1:43 all aluminum radiator is something that hardcore liquid cooling purists might
1:47 not like but the system is completely sealed and uses extra thick Fe tubing 38
1:54 inch tubing by the way to prevent the slow evaporation that can occur with
1:58 porous tubing so since you'll never open it and there's an appropriate
2:02 anti-corrosive coolant inside it won't be a problem because the metals aren't
2:06 actually in contact with each other while it isn't a problem however it does
2:10 mean that some of the performance of the system is left on the table compared to
2:14 if it had the surface area it does and used a copper and brass design like
2:19 cooler Master's own Glacier 240l which performs similarly and also happens to
2:25 be fully expandable I apologize in advance for not having it in our
2:28 performance charts though I stole it from Luke's testing stable because I
2:32 wanted it for my liquid cooling video card test bench sometime ago anyway
2:36 about the aluminum rad I'll say this though at least Cooler Master doesn't
2:40 hide it I couldn't find the radiator material of the h110 anywhere in
2:44 Corsair's official literature and had to go hunting to see what they were using
2:48 installing the 280l in my standard case the C70 was actually a little bit tricky
2:53 The Fill Point sticks out on the bottom if you don't put the fans on the bottom
2:57 and that makes it so that you're probably going to hit your 8 Pin power we actually split that into a four pin
3:01 and allowed it to dodge the fill Port which helped a lot but then again in
3:05 their recommended configuration with the fans on the bottom not the fans on the
3:10 top like we do it it fits a lot better we also had problems with the radiator
3:14 hitting other different parts of the case but again if you put the fans on
3:17 the bottom like they recommend you don't have that problem although we do prefer
3:21 putting it on top we do this with every single radiator that comes in here and
3:24 we find that it standardizes the whole process in terms of performance we found
3:28 that the cooler performs within margin of error of an h110 and considering the
3:34 the the margin of error that comes with our thermal test bench as we don't have a thermally controlled room it's fairly
3:39 realistic as these radiators are quite similar so in conclusion if you're
3:44 looking for a liquid cooling unit that's got good looks with its wi LED lighting
3:48 FX comes with a fantastic 5-year warranty and features compatibility for
3:53 both 140 mm and 120 mm fans although the
3:58 120 mm fans will seal even less against
4:01 the radiator then the nepton 280l is a solid Choice compared to the more
4:05 traditional dual 120 mm radiator designs
4:09 on the market just make sure that your case has room for it guys like this

5:06 you missed it before yes that is the difference in size between dual 140 mil
5:11 and dual 120 mil it doesn't sound like that much it sounds like 20
5:15 mil which could be volume 20
5:28 ml he
