0:00 and like way better we're going to have polls live polls so that you and me can set up the polls on our own website then
0:05 there will be a history of the poll and we can try I don't want to know the
0:09 history of any po if someone is watching the live stream they'll be able to see
0:12 the pole you know how we have straw poles so instead if they're watching an
0:16 archive if they watch the archive on our site they should be able to see the pool
0:21 the history of the pool groy all of the
0:24 history we're live now as if it was never erased or cleaned
0:30 the whole history of the poll the pole should be cleaned at some point or
0:34 Another We're just discussing an upcoming website feature welcome to the
0:38 vanan show thank you guys very much for tuning in my laptop screen just wow it
0:45 just completely crapped itself I wish I
0:49 was screen sharing with you guys I opened up a Google doc and like my
0:53 desktop icons like flashed through it for a couple seconds and they gone
0:58 computers man computers man welcome to
1:01 the show um so let's kick things right off
1:06 let's let's let's make things easy for ourselves we've got a bunch of great
1:10 topics for you today first up is Google cardboard you can use an ordinary
1:16 cardboard box and a
1:19 smartphone to make your own virtual reality headset okay it might not be
1:24 quite as sophisticated as the Oculus Rift but more or or as easy as what I
1:29 just did just there a little bit more complicated than that but it should make
1:34 for an easy lowcost way to make that happen next up we've got Ubisoft just
1:40 keeps on digging it's almost like this week they were trying to find something
1:46 popular to say so that we don't like DRM
1:49 we're going to do things yeah we're
1:53 which don't include getting rid of
1:56 DRM what else we got we also have YouTube tip jar so you'll be able to tip
2:00 up to something talk about that later to YouTube creators while watching their
2:05 videos and twitch and YouTube are both
2:08 going to be playing at 60 FPS now
2:12 wowps to u u i can watch PewDiePie yell
2:17 with that much more clarity now tweet tube tweet tube all right intro
2:28 time
2:41 we are moving the microphone down Probably sounds horri ah it's not that
2:46 bad I've got it in my ears all right we have a few sponsors for you this week uh
2:51 earlier this week we actually did a sponsored live stream we call these ask
2:56 the expert and we're going to talk to you guys about what we did discussed
3:00 with Darren Lynch from Intel as well as give you guys the exclusive link to
3:05 watch the archived live stream so I hope
3:08 you enjoy that next up we've got Squarespace and that's not the one that
3:13 I meant to do wow back to this and oh now everything is bricked and terrible
3:18 okay Squarespace 10% off with offer code lineus also we are going to announce the
3:22 winner of a free oneyear Squarespace
3:27 subscription and finally we we've got Dollar Shave Club shave time shave money
3:33 join the club visit Dollar Shave Club in order to get highquality bathroom
3:38 supplies shipped straight to you your door and that is it for my oh yeah and
3:43 it's not very expensive hence the dollar
3:46 I mean it doesn't cost a well it can cost a dollar but it doesn't cost a
3:49 dollar for like the really good stuff but it's still a lot cheaper than the
3:53 other thing so I think I've gotten my point across now and yes the intro was
3:58 playing and the music was broken I actually kind of liked talking over the
4:01 music we should have music in the background so um next week we'll get
4:06 like a music track but for this week can you just kind of beatbox while I do the
4:10 show all right so our first topic this week is going to be the uh well if I had
4:16 my topics open I'd be able to do that YouTube now runs at 60 FPS they actually
4:22 announced a really bunch of the best part is I'm a horrible
4:27 beatboxer I can't do anything I have no abilities whatsoever but if we actually
4:31 had an actual beatboxer that could have been maybe cool I don't know no probably
4:36 not I have about the beatboxing skills of like that random six-year-old kid on
4:40 the playground who thinks he's a plane that's that's about
4:45 it or that kid that used to run around the track while making motorcycle
4:51 noises the sophisticated kids put the playing cards in the spoke
4:57 so there you go yeah I did that when I
5:00 was like 12 I think I did as well actually yeah I think I should have been
5:04 younger than 12 when I was doing that all right so this was originally posted
5:08 on the Forum by RT YouTube now supports
5:13 the 60fps I actually retweeted this tweet last night because I was pretty
5:18 stoked on this news but there you go so
5:22 what they say is motion intense videos will look even better on YouTube when we
5:26 launch support for 48 and 60 FPS yes so
5:30 bring on the Hobbit piracy since that's
5:33 the only thing that comes to mind that 48 frames per second no but seriously
5:40 though higher frame rates are better for many things I know you guys are probably
5:44 expecting me to say well now every single video on YouTube should run at 60
5:49 FPS but that's not necessarily the case
5:53 game play will definitely benefit from this um things like running around with
5:59 a the camcorder probably not so much the
6:02 main benefit the reason that we shoot all of our Channel Super Fun stuff for
6:06 example in 60fps is the ability to slow it down to half speed and still play at
6:11 30 FPS which to the eye with appropriate motion blur does still look very fluid
6:17 the problem with games is that the eye
6:21 and graphics cards they well they don't inherently have motion blur they don't
6:26 actually um help you put the pieces
6:29 together of each of these frames the way that something like a film does so 60
6:34 FPS exciting one little trick you have to turn it up to 1080p in order to
6:39 enable 60 FPS also if you're in Firefox you might not be able to see it
6:42 automatically so if you go download all HTML 5 or some other HTML 5 add-on which
6:48 can switch YouTube to HTML 5 by forcing
6:51 it um then you'll be good to go I am so over Firefox at this point between it
6:57 logging me out of the Forum all the time and just flat out not working very well
7:02 and crashing a lot over the last little while I think uh We've pretty much
7:05 broken up so Firefox is now my tertiary
7:09 browser whoa yeah what's your second at
7:13 home I am I'm actually using Chrome IE
7:18 Firefox why not like opera or something Opera doesn't work with anything yeah it
7:23 does no no I use I use on Chrome Okay
7:26 Google straight up doesn't support Opera and Google doesn't support Opera no they
7:32 they say blah blah blah blah blah sometimes when you log into stuff they'll be like uh yeah this feature
7:37 works on Firefox and chrome and then half the time it doesn't work on Firefox
7:41 and the other half of the time it doesn't work on Chrome so I have a feeling within the next few years Google
7:46 is going to try to basically eradicate everything except for Chrome because I I
7:50 honestly think a lot of the issues that are coming in are based around Google
7:53 just being like NOP no no we're doing all this it seems to be mostly flash
7:56 related for Firefox for me yeah and I mean it's not like Adobe and googler In
8:01 Cahoots so I think it's gota I gotta just blame the Mozilla team for
8:06 this I don't know but if the flash
8:09 thing's your problem just download the HTML 5 add-on and you're good to go yeah
8:13 even then not everything runs on HTML 5
8:16 sometimes flash things exist and then my browser crashes and then and this is
8:21 this is something that I have an issue with with both Firefox and chrome is it
8:25 seems like about 30% of the time the restore last browsing session feature
8:29 just doesn't work I have literally never had a problem with that with fire I had
8:33 it happened last night last very night last night was my last night did you
8:37 have multiple Windows open of course I did I always do you know what my
8:41 computer looks like because some of because I need to be able to alt tab
8:45 between certain sets of tabs very quickly so for example see like he's
8:50 complaining about his RAM he has to upgrade his RAM doesn't do anything
8:54 other than web browse ofing his Brown I have to upgrade
9:00 my desktop my brother's taking like five gigs of
9:06 RAM oh yeah I know I I'm having troubl
9:09 defending Firefox lately I hope they pick it up because I don't know I feel a lot more
9:14 safer on Firefox than I do on Chrome yeah well there you go um all right so
9:20 cat oh this is something really cool that also came out of the uh VidCon
9:24 event recently they are adding caption
9:28 crowd sources so every single video will just say butts butts butts butts butts
9:32 on the bottom well probably the first thing I thought of when I read that was
9:36 like okay every single video that's going to attract like a certain crowd is
9:41 just going to have like buts yeah there's going to be a lot
9:44 of potential for this to be griefed I have to think though that once the
9:48 initial sort of spam dies down it'll
9:52 probably start to it'll probably settle in I think videos like ours will
9:56 probably do reasonably well by comparison and the way that I see except
10:00 for this one which will probably just have butts butts butts on it yeah
10:03 someone will go and hide it like 34 of the way through where no one's going to
10:07 be looking at the captions I mean especially in English it's probably
10:10 going to be more a matter of going through and fixing the mistakes of the
10:14 automatic one yeah um so I mean I'm sure
10:17 YouTube will be able to tell cuz in much the same way that they can take the
10:22 audio track and they can caption it I'm sure they can take the captioning and
10:26 somewhat validate it so figure out if it's like that far off yes okay that's
10:31 what I expect to happen although this is all just me guessing these features are
10:34 not out yet that makes sense though and if they're not doing that now they
10:37 probably should and they'll probably think of that or figure that out at some
10:40 point in time maybe P 10% um so I find a
10:45 lot of the news that just happened um in in this one segment are all like
10:51 PewDiePie because it's YouTube 60fps and
10:55 tip jar so if he's having problem well he's he's like doing okay for doing okay
11:00 but game streamers in general aren't probably going to make as much money on
11:04 their ads so tip jars are going to help game streamers a lot and 60fps is going
11:08 to help game streamers a lot so I find it actually kind of surprising that both
11:12 these things are landing when traditionally they didn't really seem to care about game streamers it's it's
11:16 actually kind of refreshing to see YouTube Bend to the will of the
11:21 community for a change instead of just marching off in a direction and doing
11:25 whatever the heck it is that they want go plus integration and screw you just
11:30 expecting everyone to sort of fall in line I mean we want you know higher
11:34 quality content and we want this and we want that it's like guys that's great
11:39 but people are not watching that they're
11:43 watching PewDiePie do whatever it is
11:46 speaking of PewDiePie I actually was this close to retweeting one of his
11:51 tweets for the first time ever I do follow him on Twitter and I agreed with
11:57 this so hard and I was just like Google
12:01 what are you doing twitch play Pokemon is in our chat again oh L that's so cool
12:06 I saw him in last week too I was like what the hell all right so I'm going to
12:10 screen share with you guys for a second here check this out so in the old days I
12:14 would click on my name and I would go to video manager you can see that that's
12:17 still working on this page for some reason it must be a really old one they
12:21 changed it today yeah there we go so my name is now gone this is great I can
12:25 show the before and after my name is now gone now I get to click on this I get to
12:29 click on Creator Studio wait around for that to load it slow ass and then I get
12:35 to go way over here and click on video manager in order to manage my videos
12:41 which is where I spend 99% of my time when I am logged into my
12:46 YouTube channel um YouTube seems to be trying to pay attention to the needs of
12:50 creators they're finally giving us a dedicated YouTube creator app which will
12:55 allow us to manage things that's actually pretty cool that's pretty cool
12:58 although honestly there's not that much more that I needed to do they could have
13:02 just fixed you know broken like outright
13:05 broken stuff like here's a couple of examples um when you're loading comments
13:11 it just stops working after a while and then you can't restore it other than by
13:15 reloading the page and then scrolling back to that point again you can't see
13:19 the most recent comments first and then the other one that was just broken as
13:23 all heck is when I would try to reply to a comment I think it is and then go
13:29 back it would reload the comments and I'd have to start over again at the top
13:33 it's like you wonder why YouTubers aren't interacting with their audiences
13:36 much you're making it as difficult as possible for us oh my God it's it's it's
13:42 the the comment system as a whole is ridiculous I I watched a video the other
13:46 day that was uploaded that day this was like a day or two ago but for some
13:50 reason it had the old comment system yeah and it was so refreshing it's so
13:55 much better I'm going to be honest with you I couldn't tell the difference really yeah I had there was a video
13:59 recently it was a funk commercial that we did and I was reading through the
14:04 comments and everyone was freaking out about how it was the old comments and I actually couldn't remember the
14:08 difference between them anymore the reply buttons there on everything um and
14:13 honestly it looked cleaner it's mostly mostly there are reply buttons on
14:17 everything now like people have basically just kind of accepted it you
14:20 know I don't know Dro TR and I still have a problem I'll read through the
14:24 comments and someone will ask a question directed at me and I try to reply and
14:27 I'm like this is not possible that still happens to this day my favorite is that
14:31 well and but there are issues with the old comment system that I think people
14:34 forget in the old comment system someone could have contact lock on and there
14:39 would still be a reply button so you'd click reply you'd type up a nice long
14:43 reply to them you'd click it it would go away and it would tell you this person
14:46 has contact lock on they did not receive your message actually never ran into
14:51 that that's a lot worse that's like a hundred times worse at least I don't
14:54 have to waste my time trying to reply to people who ask me questions that don't
14:59 have a reply button on their comments I can see up front haha I don't have to
15:03 talk to you because you didn't do the thing yeah yeah so at least there's that
15:08 I don't know I think I ran Twitch Plays Pokemon off because the the chat freaked
15:13 out way to go smart guy we actually we
15:17 had someone cool in our chat for the first time ever I mean the rest of you
15:22 are cool too but like someone like crazy famous on Twitch cool well when when my
15:27 brother and I were streaming we had Day N come in and say hi yeah I think myself
15:32 or my brother I don't remember which one was wearing a day n shirt and after his
15:35 stream ended he went to the homepage and saw us homepage and he was like what
15:39 that's why he came into the chat and was like hello oh he's still here still here
15:44 y anyways all right so our you know it's
15:48 funny cuz my issue on Firefox is that the Forum keeps signing my me out my
15:52 issue in Chrome is it keeps signing me back in when I sign out
15:59 stop it like no you must have your proper account for this listen to me all
16:03 right so this was originally posted by Twisted dictator on the Forum and this
16:09 is Ubisoft the original article from
16:12 Gamespot this is Ubisoft coming out and
16:16 saying well DRM can't stop piracy
16:20 actually this article is fantastic it's so ridiculous full of all the win okay
16:25 so VP of digital publishing from Ubisoft says I don't want us in a position where
16:30 we're punishing a paying player for what a pirate can get around so where you are
16:35 right now that position that you're like very deeply rooted in you don't want to
16:38 be there okay so Witcher developer CD project red uh thinks that DRM is an
16:43 ineffective way to stop piracy on the PC them I actually believe because they've
16:47 been reasonably friendly in the past however Ubisoft is just like what
16:52 popular thing can we say that Gamers will like so that they will stop hating
16:57 us as hard as we deserve deserve to be hated right now and so
17:02 that oh this is great so what's key for
17:05 us is making sure we're delivering an experience to paying players that is
17:09 quality so the question becomes what do we create as services or as benefits and
17:14 the quality of the game that will just have people want to pay for it and I'm
17:20 just kind of sitting here going blah blah blah so okay the more services
17:23 there the reality it is the more services there are in a game well
17:28 Pirates don't get that stuff so when it's a good game and there's good
17:31 services around it you're incentivized to not pirate the game to get the full
17:34 experience this is all true it's just that
17:38 Ubisoft it's not like they actually said well here's an upcoming game that we're
17:43 going to go you know uh steam DRM only
17:46 or we're going to go zero actionable items yeah there there's nothing there's
17:50 not a Microsoft might as well you know
17:54 uh publish an open letter about how they're committed to PC Gamers for all
17:58 the emptiness of this statement that has
18:01 nothing to do with anything oh my God I mean it's not like I agree with the
18:06 Pirates I mean this is this is this is interesting um there was a claim uh that
18:11 Bethesda recently released Wolfenstein the New Order was pirated over a 100,000
18:16 times in the first week and obviously you can't say oh well then they lost
18:21 whatever 60 times 100 so what 60 mill6
18:24 million do in Revenue whatever that works out too um lost $6 Million worth
18:29 of Revenue because of pirates you can't really do the math that way but you
18:34 can't do the math that way at all we have to agree that it is a problem and I
18:38 don't agree with the typical you know
18:42 quite frankly stupid argument that you
18:46 know uh piracy doesn't hurt cuz it's you know basically like if if they deserved
18:51 my money you know after I if I played it okay here this guy this guy basically
18:56 made me pretty mad uh Russ takeout okay
19:00 uh yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah so this guy is like well people buy good or great
19:05 games the problem is when you have a game with a 5H hour single player and
19:08 lousy multiplayer how do you justify 60 bucks for it piracy helps the individual
19:13 to test the game I downloaded 10 to 20 games this year and purchased the 3 to
19:16 four that let me play for at least a few weeks and I'm kind of sitting here going
19:21 well no because if you want to have the
19:24 experience you should pay for it if the
19:28 experience wasn't good enough to have then you don't have to buy it and not
19:31 every game cost $60 wait like 3 weeks
19:35 and it'll probably be 30 transistor like just came out it's already 25% off on
19:39 Steam Sale exactly so if you don't think
19:43 something is worth the cost 100% then just wait a little while
19:48 and if you're not willing to wait well then I'm sorry I guess you get to pay
19:52 and you can't just say oh well if something can't be reused 100 times then
19:56 it's not worth buying I mean by that logic do you refuse to buy
20:01 condoms or
20:05 food it's basically the same thing it seriously is no I know I was just trying
20:09 something that isn't reusable over and over again dogs try to make food
20:13 reusable dogs oh that's gross you know
20:17 my old Pony when I was a kid oh no she would basically like if we if we imagine
20:22 that this is the pony the crap would come out this end he would turn himself
20:27 180° no yep you know how that story I I
20:32 don't know like especially with how Steam Works nowadays we were talking
20:35 about the Steam Sale uh last time on the show about how it's just like yeah all
20:39 this stuff has pretty much been on sale for these prices already like not a ton
20:44 of them were super amazing that's that's because everything gets discounted so
20:48 hard just wait like three days I fear
20:51 for twitch chat what you can't reuse
20:55 condoms twitch chat twitch chat
20:58 that I mean I guess theoretically you
21:02 could it's but the effectiveness well I mean it already has
21:07 a pretty scary Effectiveness 99% is not
21:10 that good that's true that's still one out of 100 times the funny horri the
21:16 funny thing about the 99% Effectiveness is that I'm not 100% sure how you
21:21 calculate that is it 99% of the time you have
21:25 sex you won't cause a pregnancy or is it
21:28 99% of the times that you would have caused a pregnancy it doesn't because
21:33 it's hard to because I mean if it's 99% of the time there won't be a pregnancy
21:38 it's not even helping as much as we think because about 60% of the time to
21:42 70% of the time the the fertility is not
21:45 an issue anyway and nothing would have happened so H that's that is actually
21:51 kind of interesting either way it's still scary I feel like we've gotten off
21:54 topic a little bit we have a little bit maybe a lot of bit let's talk about
21:58 Android TV we aren't even necessarily done with the previous topic oh okay
22:02 what do you have something to say cuz I can just take a drink go for it um I I
22:07 found it interesting that the main thing that he was saying was uh services and benefits they want to add on to games if
22:12 you've been noticing something they've been doing for a long time now is these
22:15 these multiplayer aspects that they've been adding to games I don't know how many times you've talked to someone
22:19 about that super awesome enthralling Assassin's Creed multiplayer that you
22:24 played with no one because no one really does that um or the awesome strapped on
22:30 stapled together multiplayer that's in Watchdogs I think they need to they're
22:34 talking about this quality of the game in quality services and benefits but a
22:38 lot of their quality services and benefits don't really seem thought out
22:42 it seems like they built the entire game and then we're like oh yeah we need
22:45 these things that pirates don't get so we're going to make this weird really
22:50 really bad ship mini game in Assassin's
22:53 Creed that this is the only way you can get certain items and then we're going
22:56 to put it in your ship and everyone's going to hate it so cool like I don't
23:03 make good ones make interesting ways to work with your friends and I know
23:07 they're working on it like uh Far Cry 4
23:10 and Assassin's Creed Unity have these Co-op things where someone can enter
23:14 your game and then help you do like an open world thing but they can't help you
23:18 with storyline missions and stuff and then I don't really that seems weird
23:24 again so I don't know maybe work on that a little bit and then people might care
23:28 but for now they're probably just going to Pirate your game I won't but they
23:31 probably will and I I think it's funny that they brought they're bringing all
23:35 this to light right now yeah I know right because then everyone's going oh
23:39 yeah I can just pirate all your stuff did you see how many comments
23:43 there were about that they're like oh yeah I was waiting for Watch Dogs and then now I'm just going to Pirate it
23:47 it's like wow why did you wow not good
23:51 timing I wonder if piracy rates would go
23:54 down if they just stopped talking about
23:57 shut up there's an interesting they need to
24:01 shut up put their heads down and work on stuff and make really good releases for
24:05 Assassin's Creed and Far Cry what's the upcoming Assassin's Creed Unity Unity
24:09 yeah okay French Revolution sure sure that could be good
24:14 it could who knows hopefully they'll make the PC
24:19 version look exactly the same as the console version oh there was other there
24:22 was another Ubisoft thing they were saying you know why it's challenging to
24:26 have the PC version come out at the same time is the console version and
24:29 something blah blah blah does your hups in your company make them look the same
24:33 yeah anyway here we go uh Android TV so
24:38 it looks like Google uh Google IO they actually had a bunch of stuff they were
24:41 talking about they showed off the upcoming Android L whatever it's going
24:46 to be licorice lollipop ludicrous ludic
24:49 keeping with our Rap Theme um I hope ASUS wants to do laptop
24:55 Integrations again with with the new one ends with JK
25:00 oh and I will just never stop all the
25:04 terrible jokes no I don't want to talk about that anyway um it weighs a lot JK
25:09 it's light so they showed off a bunch of really cool stuff they showed off some really Pointless Stuff they're moving to
25:13 a more circular sort of design language now which to me is kind of like oh
25:18 that's great I'll put that on my circular phone that I don't have I guess
25:22 if if they want if they want Android phones to stop looking like iPhones so
25:28 all these lawsuits can just go away it's
25:31 like discus things yeah this is this is the Samsung Galaxy Milky Way and it's
25:36 like it's like this shape that would be amazing with like a
25:41 sphere it with like a curv screen see that curv screen sphere in the middle
25:46 like and that comes out the back you know the the LG like you know orb Flex
25:51 the or it doubles as a discus throw it to
25:56 your friend and the built-in accelerometer speakers
26:01 the built-in accelerometer will tell you how fast it
26:04 FW and when and when your friend doesn't catch it it'll say uhoh Well it falls
26:11 and you'll be able to hear it because it has a speaker the size of the entire back yeah all these smart features the
26:16 Samsung sh no wrong the speaker should not be the size of the back I've been
26:20 working on my LG G3 review as well as my
26:24 Surface 3 Pro review and they both
26:28 have rearm mounted speakers which is still wrong in this day and age what if
26:32 it's a discus thing still
26:36 wrong still wrong and I still hate it so you want like a bezel around the front
26:40 of the disc for a circular speaker there yeah a bezel
26:45 disc now with 30% more
26:48 bezel new and improved oh no oh not this
26:52 again coming soon Android TV now with
26:55 30% more TV
26:59 Honestly though that might be applicable this whole Android TV thing I'm kind of
27:02 sitting here going like how many times are you guys going to relaunch the same
27:07 thing it's like we really really really
27:11 want Android to run on your TV the old
27:16 you know little USB sticks or HDMI
27:19 sticks those aren't good enough anymore chomecast isn't good enough anymore uh
27:23 Standalone boxes like the posos player
27:26 or that a thing what was it called I don't remember something box I don't
27:31 know I didn't care then all these all these Google operating system things no
27:36 we're doing much better now we're just doing regular Android this time but with
27:40 a different skin over top so it's XBMC
27:45 but like Android or something and there's a world of content in games
27:49 there's actually not too much detail about it right now but you can get Batman Begins Man of Steel The Lego
27:54 Movie and The Hobbit desolation of smog if you want wanted to watch one good
27:59 movie and uh one really good movie and
28:03 two slightly less than good movies Oscar nominated there's going to
28:08 be so much infighting on what movies you're talking about they're adding
28:11 voice control which I guess is interesting if you didn't already have a
28:14 chomecast and an Android phone and this functionality seems like it could have
28:18 just as easily happened that way the one place where I see this really being
28:22 valuable is in terms of more power
28:26 hungry type of applications so NVIDIA
28:29 actually on their own blog is talking about this as well they are saying they
28:34 want the K1 so that's their upcoming chip of course they do they want the K1
28:38 to be the first validated chip for Android TV which could be interesting
28:44 because we'd be looking at both a powerful local gaming experience as well
28:48 as a streaming experience with you know Netflix and all that other stuff and um
28:54 having the ability to stream from the cloud or view things things and Playback
28:58 things and game locally it seems like I guess it'll be somewhat valuable I just
29:04 I don't see it as that different from so
29:08 many other things that are out there I mean you look at something like
29:12 Ouya I mean is this really different from Ouya with a skin on
29:17 it is it is it skins a lot though skins user
29:23 experience what do you complain about a lot with phones yes
29:27 okay the skin is important I'm just saying did we need a
29:31 dedicated I like my CH casts I see no
29:35 real reason to change for my chomecast right well chomecast latency isn't
29:39 anything special so there's that if you wanted to game on your big screen I'm
29:43 not going to play Android games on my big screen no you
29:47 aren't but this is NVIDIA we're talking about so if we could see integration
29:52 with their gam stream technology like the way I'd like to see NVIDIA go Shield
29:57 right right um but what you don't have a way to do right now is get a low latency
30:02 HDMI connection from your Shield to your TV okay so if that could be integrated
30:06 you could have a wireless controller or you could use your Shield as a wireless controller like the way I see NVIDIA
30:11 going with this to make it really successful is have there be an
30:16 experience just for having an NVIDIA chip in the device so they enable game
30:20 stream as long as there's an NVIDIA chip in your device then if you have a shield
30:24 then you enable second screen type things like what Nintendo's trying to do
30:28 with Wii U or with the ability to use your Shield as a controller and then
30:33 switch screens when you run away just like Nintendo's trying to do with the
30:36 Wii U but hopefully better than the Wii U like a lot of the stuff they do with
30:39 the Wii U is pretty stupid Mario Kart 8 has sold 2 million copies which is
30:45 unfreaking real not to mention how many Wii U they're selling now I think
30:49 they're on track to sell more than PS4 and Xbox I if if that's still trending
30:54 that was trending like that before we left for Highlander so I'm not entirely
30:57 sure anymore freaking badass but what I
31:00 do have to say about Mario Kart 8 and the Wii U is that the second screen is
31:04 not very useful there yeah yeah it's dumb you can make it a mini map but then
31:09 like it's in your hands it's in your hands I don't anyone who looks away from
31:13 the screen for more than a split second in Mario Kart is like red shelled up the
31:18 ass so like no I don't know but then I
31:21 don't mind that controller for it either because if you try to use the motion
31:24 controls for it it's a lot better than weote
31:31 controll anyway get it yeah the second
31:34 screen does work for that game but I don't think they need the second screen
31:37 to be amazing for every single game yeah that's true um so there's a couple more
31:42 things for Android TV it's so blah blah blah clean interface allows multiplayer
31:47 gaming with people on Android tablets when was the last time you played a
31:50 multiplayer game over Android this one of the really big problems with Android
31:54 gaming is there're like here's a new platform that you can can take these
31:57 games which are not made for this platform and play them on and it's like
32:02 no I don't want to do that yeah I mean no wants to do that it's the same issue
32:07 that PC Gamers have nobody makes good
32:10 co-op games for Android it's like what
32:13 like what and yeah okay okay twitch chat you're going to have like four examples
32:19 I don't care it's not really my point my point is that it's not a focus Android
32:23 games are focused on this experience PC PC gaming Co-op is starting to come back
32:29 a little bit not enough not enough not enough I'll tell you what when Microsoft
32:33 releases re-releases that Halo package for the PC and it includes Halo 1
32:39 campaign co-op oh God then a you won't
32:43 see me on W show because I'll be too busy playing Halo campaign co-op and B I
32:48 will believe that something's changing my dad and I went through and beat that
32:52 campaign on every possible difficulty not because we couldn't beat it on
32:56 legendary yet just just because we were bored like I think we literally I think
32:59 we beat on legendary and then like went back and beat on the other ones cuz remember you'd get the different Shields
33:03 at the bottom of the level selector so we got all of them cuz we were just like
33:06 this is cool cuz why not and it was a really good game to co-op the last M ah
33:11 whatever everyone's like try try try yeah it's like one game smartass
33:18 and we both love it and we have a video review and we finished it and I played
33:22 it with my wife and that was great and she was like oh that was fun we haven't
33:25 played games together in a long time and I was like yeah that was fun that was
33:29 great um and she was like yeah what other games can we play I'm like
33:35 none Portal 2 for like the not as good as the single player co-op that it has
33:40 actually the only game that we found to uh to play together recently is this one
33:45 it's actually a fantastic game and everyone should play it it's uh it's
33:49 free for the basic version and if it ever manages to launch then I'd love to
33:53 show it to you guys but in the meantime do you want to bring up girl in the chat
33:56 said Android TV equals every Smart TV ever except probably a lot better A lot
34:01 better Smart TVs are dumb and they're just terrible they suck just made of so
34:06 much terrible and oh man that's another thing that's been driving me crazy about
34:11 how to address it with the uh with the
34:14 LG G3 so the
34:18 G3 has one of the most terrifying end
34:21 user license agreements that I've ever seen and just with the recent thing that
34:27 came out about their Smart TVs and how if you don't agree to it they just
34:30 downgrade you to a dumb TV it made me really uncomfortable to have like five
34:35 checkboxes to tick off including all this stuff about personal information
34:39 sharing just to use my phone this is why
34:42 PE more than one person asked me on Twitter if I would recommend getting a
34:46 G3 because of how much I like the G2 this was before I even saw the G3 so it
34:49 wasn't really fair but either way I said no because of the TV thing it's your
34:54 phone there's going to be way more personal stuff on your phone than your TV and they're being really Ultra creepy
34:59 about it yeah so I don't know man not a
35:02 big fan fan unfortunately this game isn't
35:06 launching but it's called it's called Pocket Tanks and it's badass so you can
35:11 they actually have um either Hot Seat multiplayer or you can actually do uh
35:16 land multiplayer cool so my wife and I will sit in bed with our laptops and
35:20 like fire little rockets at each other with our tanks and stuff she's pretty
35:26 good at it tanks she's been kicking my ass lately is it like old school tanks
35:29 but like new and improved it's not that new we've been playing it since we met
35:33 we met 9 years ago so okay there you go not new not new at
35:38 Alla okay I'm old and the things I do are
35:43 old along the lines of Android TV this
35:46 is interesting uh razor throwing Oh Come
35:51 onello technical
35:54 difficulties thanks for that l awesome
35:58 beatboxing that wasn't beatboxing even
36:01 is it just like making noises no is what
36:05 making noises is just making noises because I saw a beatboxing guy who was
36:09 like doing other random stuff oh form of
36:12 vocal P percussion yeah that's not percussion I'm
36:19 sorry yeah I guess you're closer but I still don't like
36:22 it um well this is unfortunate okay you might be on screen sharing Duty for the
36:26 rest of the show here oh okay what am i showing let's see if the issue is um my
36:31 output or if the issue is the what am i showing
36:36 capture um you're showing razer's gaming
36:39 micro console featuring Android TV
36:42 available this fall uh this was posted originally on the form by dietr W and it
36:47 looks like that screen sharing is not working anyway I'm afraid like I just I
36:52 fear for what might happen if I try to uh if I try to properly screen share
36:57 with you guys because what I'm going to have to do is I'm going to have to refresh my capture card which will about
37:02 nine times out of 10 um blue screen the computer blue screen the computer is
37:06 this not working for so I'm going to find another way to share with you guys
37:09 here we go we'll just do it this way this is no no it didn't work I tried it
37:14 already it's it's all good try try it now sure
37:18 okay yeah that didn't work okay so there we go um moving on I tried uh the micro
37:25 console all right so this was the original article is on end Gadget I'm
37:29 just going to sorry guys I got to do this kind of manually here this is going
37:32 to be kind of ghetto so add uh screen
37:37 region and there we
37:40 go hey that is beatboxing according to
37:43 you all right razer's micro console a gaming micro console with Android TV
37:48 available this fall it should be noted that this is just a render and this is
37:52 not the finalized Hardware although they haven't exactly gone out on a Lim in
37:56 terms of showing us something that's difficult to manufacture it's razor so
38:01 it's probably going to look something like that there's green underlow it's
38:04 black and there's a logo on the top uh matte black specifically okay okay okay
38:09 all right okay it's matte black also the logo is
38:13 shiny the logo is gloss so I get such a
38:17 kick out of the out of the press statement the micro console can stream
38:20 movies music and other apps for large screen entertainment with an emphasis on
38:25 gaming so it's go hardcore gaming so
38:30 it's Google Android TV and it's got an
38:33 NVIDIA chip inside it and
38:38 um probably it'll have game stream good job Razer so I think we just completely
38:44 predicted exactly everything about this product I think that's how they're going
38:47 to handle the hardcore gaming though and I'm really excited about that I think it makes as much sense as Steam OS um just
38:55 in home streaming whether it's through valve's solution or NVIDIA's solution is
38:59 definitely the future in my mind and uh one thing I'm interested in is how much
39:04 Steam OS might slow down Windows
39:08 piracy might not at all no okay tell me this uh
39:15 Libra office do you still use it uh I didn't use Libra office open
39:21 Office it's the same thing oh actually I do never mind I do use Libra office and
39:25 yes I still do use do you use it if you have a choice Yes actually oh all right
39:30 um but in certain situations I use it on my test bench when viewing test results
39:35 because it can there's an option that it can give you a preview window okay do
39:38 you use it when you have serious work to do that's serious work to do that's why
39:43 like you know what I mean and you're dodging the question over and over again
39:48 I might add no but we have legit copies of office that's true right so okay but
39:54 office office using Office 365 now
39:58 honestly for the price it's a great value subscription base I'm kind of sold
40:02 on when I was in school and stuff I just used open Office yeah but in school you
40:07 got free copies of office no I mean like not not that school oh okay right other
40:12 school yeah not like piracy school no
40:17 I'm just kidding through through his program at school he was able to get
40:20 copies of mic CU I was in a software development thing so you get the yeah
40:24 MERS allian Raz thing is named so far um
40:28 interface will be managed by Android TV expected this fall um this is kind of
40:33 funny ex Orbot from The Forum had a really great comment for the haters
40:38 saying that Ouya and Mojo were commercial failures this will be two and
40:43 then he responded to that saying how many consoles were unsuccessful or
40:47 moderately successful until the NES came along and made the formula work I
40:51 thought that was a really good point I don't necessarily agree that razer's
40:54 console is going to be the big winner here and I think it's probably going to
40:58 be some integration within TVs that is
41:02 going to finally gain traction not smart TV I think it'll be more like what
41:05 they're trying to do with cars yes Apple and Google have been talking about that
41:09 lately replacing the craptastic job that they've been doing making their cars
41:13 intelligent they'll be doing the same thing by replacing the craptastic job
41:16 that every single TV manufacturer has done with Smart TVs the problem with
41:20 okay the problem here though is the difference between car manufacturers and
41:23 TV makers because car manufactur curers
41:27 have been through the worst of it they're like okay we
41:32 suck we need outside help someone please
41:35 come tell us how to capture the minds and hearts of our customers again
41:40 please whereas TV makers are still living in like this castle of arrogance
41:47 that we can do no wrong and $40,000 TV
41:50 we're all going to create our own freaking ridiculously stupid way of
41:55 doing things that has nothing to do with anything else and this this comes back
41:59 to and it's not a TV it's the G3 again
42:02 but this comes back to my G3 review I'm just going to try and find my notes on
42:06 it it's probably not going to make it into my review because my review notes are five pages and my limit for myself
42:12 is two pages so but but this is this is great share and connect under networks
42:17 is like an LG proprietary sharing thing
42:20 and I'm just like what I have in here is LG and Samsung need to pull their heads
42:25 out of their asses and work with Open Standards on this kind of stuff I
42:30 challenge anyone at LG or Samsung to
42:33 come up with one time one time that some
42:38 proprietary stupid only within one brand
42:42 standard worked on a consumer product
42:45 one time I bet you can't it works with
42:49 professional grade stuff Sony gets away with it with professional grade stuff
42:54 because professionals have the budget to go and invest in an entire ecosystem
42:59 whereas consumers buy things peace meal I mean think about how you buy things as
43:03 a consumer things other than food let's talk about more expensive stuff
43:06 obviously you go buy food you buy an entire meal so you go and you buy a
43:10 hamburger you buy some fries and you buy something else and you expect all those things to go together reasonably well
43:14 but let's say you go and you buy a house
43:18 lus doesn't cook much actually let's not let's not talk about let's not talk
43:21 about house let's come up with something uh um something with a lot of pieces
43:26 that kind of work okay let's say you furnish a house there's a great example
43:31 do you go and buy all the same brand Furniture just because there's a chance
43:36 that it will operate together correctly or do you buy what suits your taste and
43:40 what's appropriate to each of the different things that you're trying to
43:44 achieve that's how people buy things consumers that's how consumers buy
43:48 things and a lot of times especially in the technology space you might buy
43:52 something and then 3 years later you have to buy something else and then even
43:55 if you did buy within the same ecosystem they're probably not going to work
43:58 together anyways I know my favorite is the Galaxy Tab 10.1 the original one
44:03 that didn't get support for all share yeah whereas the um the cellular
44:09 everyone's saying they all buy Ika Furniture
44:14 wrecked Get Wrecked oh it's so true the
44:17 cellular uh Wireless version had it and there was like a firmware hack that the
44:22 Samsung rep was telling me I could do and I'm just like really why don't you
44:26 guys just enable this crap you're locking your own customers out of your
44:29 own stupid proprietary thing that doesn't even work that well anyway yeah
44:34 yeah and like I I actually don't know anyone that buys a new a new PC laptop
44:39 phone fridge washing machine dryer TV tablet
44:45 all at the same time on game console now and game console like what it's like it
44:52 just doesn't work that way no no amount
44:55 of trying to make make it work that way is going to make it work going to make
44:58 it work that way all right we should probably do our sponsor spot here so uh
45:04 this is cool you guys some of you anyway are going to probably like this I
45:07 thought it was pretty neat stay on this page I guess save the pages save the
45:11 changes um leave this page here we go so
45:15 this is fun we actually had a really great live stream with Intel earlier
45:20 this week I'm going to post it in the twitch chat here and I'm going to go
45:24 ahead I'm going to throw up the lower the lower third that we used for it so
45:28 it was # Devils Canyon and Intel's new
45:32 CPUs uh just launched and we actually had one of their product marketing
45:37 Engineers uh his name is Darren Lynch on the show to talk about behind the scenes
45:44 which is something so guys go ahead bookmark that go watch it later it's
45:47 only about an hour long and it's really really informative because there's a ton
45:51 of stuff about what goes on to bring a
45:55 CPU you to Market that you don't even think about I mean we were talking about
45:59 all kinds of crazy options like having a liquid cooler in the Box having a
46:03 goldplated IHS I mean these are things they've considered and he talked about
46:07 the reasons why they would be cool the reasons why they just don't work in the
46:12 real world um even things like changing the box he talks about the challenges
46:16 involved in that and it might not sound that interesting right now but it was
46:21 like something like remember when AMD did that tin box for the FX processors
46:26 it's he kind of laughed when I brought it up because he was like yeah it's
46:29 funny you mention that because um I can tell you exactly how much that box cost
46:33 we ran out and looked at how much it would cost to Source it in fact we've
46:37 done it several times both before and after the competitor did it just and
46:41 just every time we just kind of looked at it and we went you know like we've
46:45 looked at packaging for extreme editions that's like a column like a clear column
46:49 that has the CPU floating at the top that would be pretty Co and he's just
46:52 like but that package is going to cost $50 so I mean do we take that out of our
46:58 margin do we charge the customer another 50 bucks then you get customers
47:01 complaining they're paying $50 for packaging and he's like and frankly I
47:04 agree with them yeah so that's why it just comes in this box and uh I because
47:10 I and it was funny because I didn't actually realize at the time that I had
47:15 someone who had as much influence on the call cuz I was like yeah and what's up
47:20 with Intel changing the extreme Edition packages to Blue instead of black and
47:24 he's like well that was actually me who made that
47:27 call awkward yeah so he was straight up
47:31 responsible for some of the things that I've been whining about for the last few
47:35 years and it was really interesting to get his and he wasp yeah he was really
47:40 honest which was really refreshing and really cool so guys I'm going to link
47:43 that one more time and you should definitely check it out because it was
47:47 super educational and uh there you go
47:50 all right so let's move on to our next sponsor today and that is do Shave Club
47:57 if I could find there it is arranged
48:00 your Arenal all right so I have all the
48:04 Dollar Shave Club stuff now here you can hold these thank you so
48:10 basically guys Dollar Shave Club if you're not familiar with it already is
48:14 the fast easy way to get highquality
48:17 shaving and bathroom supplies delivered to your door and it's funny because I
48:24 actually had someone joking on Twitter about why Dollar Shave Club would
48:28 sponsor this guy when they could sponsor someone with you know a manly awesome
48:33 beard like Logan instead to which I have
48:36 this to say over the last few days oh no
48:39 my screen sharing is not working anymore
48:43 all right I wanted to share my screen with you guys that on the network oh no
48:47 but it could be yes okay I will do that so I'll share this on the network and
48:52 then I will you guys should have seen him on Highlander he tried to be a
48:56 Highlander yep I was like I he was Grizzly I was I was like yeah I'm going
49:01 to do this so people are like he was lonus Grizzly yeah lus can't even grow a
49:05 beard why does Dollar Shave Club you know sponsor this guy and the answer is
49:09 because if they didn't then it's possible that you would have to deal
49:13 with this oh he's hideous that is what I
49:19 look like if I have about four days of
49:22 of stubble it's disgusting it's horrible and thanks to Dollar Shave club's high
49:27 quality razors that you can get delivered to you once a month so you can
49:31 use a fresh razor for a nice clean and comfortable shave every single week you
49:36 don't have to look at that isn't it
49:40 awful everyone should sign up for Dollar Shave Club right now so that they never
49:43 have to look at or like that that's the
49:47 most compelling pitch that I can come up with also they have other great products
49:51 their shave butter makes things more comfortable for you to you know take the
49:55 hair off your face with also it goes on clear so you can see what you're doing
49:59 and finally one wipe charlies's which I could do a live demonstration for you
50:04 with but no I'm getting okay no one wants a live demonstration peppermint
50:07 scented butt wipes for men I'm sure someone wants a live demon they just plain do a better job think about it
50:12 this way baby wipes are they premoistened or are they dry they're pre
50:18 they're premoistened they're pre moistened you're asking the wrong person
50:22 adult toilet paper is it pre moistened or is it dry it's dry what's more
50:28 effective to remove something a baby wipe or a piece of toilet
50:32 paper there you go all right and our
50:35 last one is Squarespace so this one is
50:39 actually fun we're going to do our winner announcement from last week so
50:44 we're going to search for # Linus Squarespace where I asked anyone who has
50:49 used our offer code so that's offer code
50:52 lonus over the last little while I asked for everyone to submit your own
50:57 Squarespace sites and we were going to pick a winner at random so we're going
51:02 to do that in a moment but first guys Squarespace is the easy fast affordable
51:07 way to make a beautiful website it really truly is we use it for
51:11 linusmediagroup tocom Luke's building his own website with it it's just plain
51:16 better and easier to use than a lot of
51:19 other options out there they have 247 tech support all their templates look
51:24 really great and they've got different templates that are designed for all
51:27 kinds of different uses whether you want a little site for your small business a
51:31 store a Blog a portfolio it'll look
51:34 great on the desktop on mobile on laptop everything in between maybe not on a
51:38 watch although I should let the Squarespace guys know I want to see like
51:43 like um you know circular web design
51:46 Google Google Wear optimized Squarespace
51:49 templates in the near future if they can offer that then they'll be the first to
51:54 have the world's most pointless feature So Random now we can web browse
52:00 like this what's that can't see seriously
52:04 though Squarespace has features that matter like enabling you to just uh use
52:09 their logo designer to create a cool logo for yourself it's actually really
52:12 fast to use we did it live once and it took us like a couple minutes to make a
52:16 cool logo and like preview it on a business card I wasn't quite done
52:20 building my website because of e3 stuff and everything that came up when my
52:23 trial ran up and I felt so bad cuz they
52:27 like send you these emails they're like what could we have done better and I'm
52:30 like nothing you were fine it was me I'm
52:34 sorry there was nothing wrong with you I had to go on a trip and work I promise
52:39 I'll finish my website oh that's the saddest thing
52:44 ever all right so here is our featured
52:48 Squarespace site oh I can't screens share with you go to URL there I'll go
52:53 to the URL over here this is driving me but
52:57 dendi is not ugly I don't know why that person even said that he was but so
53:03 another really cool thing about Squarespace is that if you sign up for a full year at a time they will actually
53:08 give you the first year of your domain purchase so that gets thrown in there
53:13 just like that so check this out this is GoPro tips. squarespace.com you can
53:18 actually tell if you've seen enough Squarespace sites that it was put together in very very little time but it
53:24 looks good every Squarespace site pretty much has that okay everything kind of
53:29 works and you got this slider these drop downs look kind of nice you go tip video
53:34 tips figure out how we can make a like 24-hour GoPro recording thing yeah we
53:40 were discussing that on Highlander how cool it would be if we could um do oh am
53:45 I even oh crap I'm not screen sharing with these guys am i l okay chat will
53:49 tell us once they catch up yeah exactly uh oh wow oh there we go
53:55 starting to P us what the heck is this
53:58 how probably grabbed a certain screen region okay screen there you go there we
54:05 go don't worry we'll get this PO you can click on something weird Squarespace if
54:08 you're watching please don't hate me please don't hate me okay so we're going
54:12 to go back so anyway there you go now I'm showing you guys what the site
54:15 actually looks like and so GoPro tips if

54:27 year and I got the go-ahead from Squarespace to do one of these giveaways
54:31 every once in a while so guys stay tuned that you can do a two-e trial create
54:35 your site and then you can go ahead and submit it to me with the hashtag when I
54:39 ask you for it for a chance to win your own website for free so you go ahead and
54:44 you can go through here you can see how the little dropdowns work you can go
54:48 check out some video editing tips yeah we were talking during Highlander about
54:53 how we could get a GoPro running for an
54:56 entire year at a time or not an entire year for an entire day at a time and we
55:01 figured you could probably do it with their proprietary interface if you could
55:05 have a video feed to an external recorder and then you could have an
55:10 external battery and then both ends of the of the connection would have to be
55:14 waterproof and like damage proof you case for it so that the connector is
55:19 like made into the case so that it's waterproof and stuff but if there's some
55:22 way to do that even if it's not waterproof
55:25 someone tell me because that's way too cool all right anyway so just one more
55:29 time guys squarespace.com Linus for 10% off use offer code lonus and go check
55:34 out that stream I'm going to go ahead and Link you guys to that again here in
55:38 the video description it definitely is or in the video description in the
55:42 twitch chat it definitely is worth the time and then finally our last sponsor
55:46 today um Dollar Shave Club right so head
55:49 over to dollarshaveclub.com and sign up now so
55:54 that you don't look like a scary scary person should I make them look at it one
55:58 more time sure oh my gosh look at him
56:03 he's a hideous I wish I could zoom it in more
56:06 we really should have taken that picture right when you got off the mountain CU
56:10 we just all looked so messed up I know I
56:13 don't think my eyes have ever looked that sunken before in my life I I I told
56:19 you I went to the washroom and looked in the mirror when we got to that restaurant and was just like what I
56:24 hardly recognized my own face me too like it was it was pretty horrible and
56:29 uh thank goodness I have I have shaved now you know what's funny is uh that
56:34 reminds me of something that I thought of at the beginning of the show to
56:37 improve the show so I made you guys look at that but check this out I came up
56:40 with this brilliant idea oh yeah check this
56:45 out oh the W show now with 30% more
56:52 handsome sure and he never needed a Cod host again see what I was trying to say
56:57 is that he should at least try to find some way to delay that video there's got
57:01 to be some way I would be surprised if
57:04 you can do that I don't think so as long as we
57:09 don't crash xsplit you're okay yeah I know we're good I don't want to mess
57:12 with it anymore but if you could have one side that was delayed a little bit
57:17 so it like looked at least slightly like there was two different movements that
57:22 would be pretty cool I guess that would help a lot okay I'm I'm go ahead and get
57:25 rid of that I'm sorry you guys I you have like Linus and then make the other
57:28 one like that that weird inverted color thing so it's like lonus and Hulk lus
57:34 I've put you guys through so much today all right the original poster for this
57:37 one was diff dlf I don't know whatever
57:41 um so forbes.com is the article that we're using to reference here and PS Now
57:46 prices have been leaked someone told me to push you out of the way so it was
57:49 double me oh for crying out loud it just
57:53 keeps screwing up the screen I think what I have to do is just
57:58 do this and then we can all look at
58:01 forbes's and continue to the site thanks Forbes thanks for that dog all right
58:07 PlayStation Now a good idea with a bad plan says the writer so pretty much uh
58:13 we're looking at pricing anywhere from4 to 7 us to rent a game for a week you
58:19 can rent for 4 hours 7 days 30 days or
58:22 90 days with some time periods unavailable for some games there are a
58:27 couple of issues with the way that they're handling it though so pricing is
58:30 a little bit questionable with 4our
58:34 chunks of time coming in at around I think it's $3 to4 so you're paying near
58:40 or about a dollar an hour to play the game um something that might be okay if
58:45 you just want to try it before you buy
58:49 um but I mean another factor is that these are mostly older games and I'm
58:53 kind of sitting here going like I could probably find one in a used bin and pay
58:58 like 15 bucks for it or 10 bucks or 20 bucks and own it forever someone in the
59:02 chat said or just get the same price on a steam sale and that well remember this
59:06 is this is PlayStation games so so this is like their yeah um and then it's up
59:12 to about $30 for a 90day period and
59:16 again with an older game you're looking at a situation where for 30 bucks you
59:20 could probably just own it forever and get a disc um I think the biggest here
59:25 is not the idea I I think the idea of of
59:29 renting games digitally is still fine
59:32 the the Forbes article right the the Forbes author criticizes this concept in
59:37 general and says something like a subscription based service would be much better but I suspect Sony's Sony's hands
59:43 are pretty much tied on that one I don't think they'd be able to do it well they
59:47 yeah because right now they're leaving pricing up to the publisher and I think
59:51 they'd have to and I think they would have to do that I mean it's much like Steam valve doesn't set the pricing for
59:56 a third party title yeah so valve can't just come in and say okay we're going to
60:00 have a steam subscription you pay 60 bucks a month and you can play any game
60:05 on Steam because do that they'd have to set up like a Netflix like service which
60:08 would be Insanity how do you how do you divvy up the funds according to what got
60:13 watched um or maybe you do or maybe you don't I don't know it seems like it
60:18 seems like we're asking for a lot and at least this is a step in the right
60:21 direction in terms of digital distribution um
60:25 it's just it's not quite there yet it's got to be cheaper older games in
60:29 particular probably shouldn't be very expensive um one one issue I have with
60:35 sort of paper use in general is that it's going to lead developers even more
60:41 down that path where multiplayer is the only thing that matters because they're
60:45 going to be optimizing for playtime yeah
60:48 rather than necessarily compelling storytelling which is something that
60:52 does have a value yeah like uh I know transistor isn't really the longest game
60:56 ever but it ends when it should end like
60:59 I feel like they if they added things to it and they made it longer it would have just been wasted time have you played
61:04 much Bravely Default yet speaking of games that don't end when they should
61:07 end no I haven't okay not much I played a little bit you're driving me crazy cuz
61:11 I don't want to spoil the game for you cuz there are parts of it that are good
61:15 but I haven't had any time yeah I know
61:18 and then like on the plane back which when I was intending to play it I was
61:21 just like
61:25 no way that was happening I passed out so hard on the plane back from
61:28 Highlander me too well we you be passed out on the floor in the airport yeah
61:33 that's true before the plane we did do that thing all right so the op for the
61:37 first Android and that is to say robot not Android the mobile operating system
61:42 it's real confusing yeah I know right a newscaster this was posted by top war
61:46 Gamer In The Forum and this stuff is
61:50 scary man I'm going to go ahead and load up the YouTube video here here I
61:54 apologize for this slightly less elegant than usual way of doing this um let's go
62:00 ahead got the whole need to see your
62:03 your taskbar well whatever man I don't care um so screen share with Linus we go
62:09 ahead and maximize that so Japan unveils the world's first Android newscaster so
62:14 he hands her a piece of paper um apparently the robot has perfect
62:18 language skills and a sense of humor man that's creepy um this guy is slightly
62:23 less creepy he's well he's done he's made like that's the guy that made the robot of himself that was actually even
62:28 crazier than this there's certain times when it's like like this chick when
62:33 she's sitting at certain points in time and when it pans past the other girl
62:37 very specific points in time where it's very hard to tell other than that though
62:40 the the movements you can still tell that one I think the other girl looks
62:44 more realistic in my opinion yeah probably anyway she's uh she's reading
62:49 some news about an earthquake um obviously a lot of this is programmed
62:52 right now and they're not able to just kind of come up with things on their own
62:57 but the objective is to keep improving this and uh yeah I guess
63:03 uh the future is going to be an interesting time and place this brings
63:06 up a conversation that I actually brought up when we were at the airport
63:10 mm which is where everyone is using the automated terminals yep and I I noticed
63:14 one of the big things that we got Flack for on the show not Flack but one of the
63:17 big things that became a conversation when we've talked about automation on
63:20 the show before is people have brought up that people need human inter action
63:25 and I see that being disproven everywhere the amount of times that I
63:29 see people voluntarily go through the self- automated checkout instead of the
63:33 person driven checkout at stores is getting more and more and more and then
63:37 now at airports it almost becomes frustrating to have to deal with
63:42 people it's kind of annoying because it's like oh I have to deal with this
63:46 person who's probably going to be a jerk when I could have maybe just gotten
63:49 through the terminal with no problem the flip side of that is that on both our
63:53 flight to Denver and our flight back the
63:56 autal terminal systems ever that's the problem the automated terminal didn't
64:00 pick up my reservation on the way there and then yours and Ed's reservations on
64:05 the way back because it thought we already checked in which is really bad
64:09 and we had to go talk to a person so
64:12 they can make them better though but that's that's that's I I don't know
64:15 about that whole required human interaction argument flip side okay so
64:19 I'm going to get you to cover this one because um you're the VR
64:25 yeah so this project was originally
64:28 thought of by uh French googlers David CA and Damen Henry in part of their 20%
64:34 thing which I thought was gone but is apparently still here so that's cool so
64:40 the 20% thing is where 20% of your time at Google has to be spent doing kind of
64:45 your own independent projects and then uh people thought this thing was so
64:49 freaking cool that they jumped on and made sdks for it and it actually became
64:52 a much bigger deal is this screen sharing yep so you basic you saw it if you click
64:56 it again I think it goes back together if you scroll up more I think there's a
65:01 way to make it go SL you keep scrolling out if you there we go there we go you
65:05 manually scroll it it goes slower so you can see this is the package that people
65:08 got at Google IO you can't just buy this I don't think so if you went to Google
65:13 IO you got this package so you pull the tab thing and then it folds out all
65:17 nicely but you can make this on your own uh if you have a laser cutter they
65:20 actually have the file that you need for the laser cutter to able to read that
65:25 file and then cut it for you or there's instructions on how to cut it with like
65:29 a nice exacto knife or something like that and the magnet on the side with the
65:34 like washer thing that's sitting there is actually a a Buton they can't see you
65:37 but sure now they can there's a magnet on the side which I I actually wanted
65:41 you to scroll to it not look at me but either way there's a magnet on the side
65:45 which looks like it doesn't really have a use but if you're looking at something and you want to select it you just pull
65:49 the magnet down which is actually really smart and it apparently works really
65:53 well from the videos that I've seen which is really cool um they haven't
65:57 tried it on a ton of phones yet fully compatible phones are Google Nexus 4 and
66:01 five Motorola Moto X Samsung Galaxy S4
66:04 and5 and Samsung Galaxy Nexus partially compatible phones are HTC1 Motorola Moto
66:10 G and Samsung Galaxy S3 that's really not a ton of phones um it's a but 180
66:17 Meg app and includes a bunch of stuff that you can do already so you can fly
66:21 around on Google Earth uh you can go on a tour of Versa with a local guide you
66:26 can watch YouTube videos on a massive screen so it's just using the lenses so
66:30 that the lenses are one of the things you have to figure out how to Source they help you though so you use those
66:35 lenses to make the screen appear much larger and further away than it is and
66:39 and it is a custom YouTube app like if you're watching the video and you look over to the right there will be other
66:43 video selections and you can use that thing on the side to select those videos like it's fairly interesting I don't
66:48 know um I mean obviously this isn't going to take the place of something
66:52 like Oculus like we were joking in the int it's not trying to though it's some
66:56 things that'll be really interesting is stuff like street view stuff like Google
67:00 Earth um the the Versa local guide wind
67:04 windy day windy day will be really cool I've used I've used windy day on Moto X
67:08 I don't know if you have um It's actually kind of fun even with just the
67:11 Moto X being able to do it with a cardboard thing would be kind of awesome
67:16 windy day is kind of a little interactive thing where you kind of look around with your screen and it's kind of
67:20 like a little movie but but in VR you of
67:24 inter you control the camera ESS so you follow this hat pretty much that's what
67:28 happens but it's actually it's pretty cool PR neat yeah I'm definitely going
67:32 to make one I don't have access to a laser cutter so I'm probably going to
67:36 try to get a really sharp knife and do
67:39 the best that I can I'm not going to Pizza Box it I'm actually going to try
67:43 and Source like proper materials so I'll see how I can do there if you are
67:48 interested in making one definitely go to Google's website which I believe is
67:52 developers.google.com / cardboard because they actually have sourced
67:57 everything for you already it's very possibly out of stock because a whole
68:01 bunch of people have been buying them and if you look at one of them and then
68:04 look at the um items frequently bought together they're all the other ones so
68:09 they're pretty easy to find um but yeah it's they also help you
68:14 Source it locally so they'll be like here's an Amazon or other website link
68:17 to this product and also here's all of its specs if you want to try and find it
68:22 somewhere else that you can buy it all right another news Intel has apparently
68:26 asked AMD for access to mantle for an
68:30 experiment so there's nothing that
68:33 sounds super committal the original article here is from tweak town from
68:37 Intel on this I mean basically yeah for
68:40 an experiment um they have reaffirmed
68:43 their position with direct X saying they are still committed to this open
68:48 standard that um they think is going to continue to drive the industry forward
68:52 and address the the previous issues with
68:56 um API overhead and all the stuff that mantle was looking to try to help
69:01 developers with but that isn't to say that Intel is completely dismissing it
69:05 which I think is really interesting because as much as there's the whole AMD
69:10 versus NVIDIA Fanboy War something that
69:13 a lot of people forget is that Intel actually has more market share for
69:18 graphics then the two of the others combined and this has been true for
69:23 years and years and years and years it's actually something that Darren our our
69:28 expert from Intel brought up and so if
69:31 Intel were to stay committed to directex
69:35 that could pretty much dictate the direction the industry goes and if Intel
69:39 were to get on board with mantle along with the 47 game developers that are
69:43 signed up for the API then that could
69:46 dictate the direction that the industry goes it's amazing how much power Intel
69:51 has in very strange ways some
69:54 um that the article also mentions is that NVIDIA has only signed up krych and
70:00 Ubisoft to its Game Works program however I think that that could be a
70:04 little bit deceptive I don't think that AAA uh game makers are the ones who are
70:09 going to mostly take advantage of a program like Gameworks I see that more
70:14 as an indie play and I think we might see more come out of that in the next
70:18 couple of years but um apparently AMD
70:22 responded by asking Intel for a month or two until it's out of closed beta and um
70:28 there we go an Intel spokesperson said at the time of initial mantle announcement we were already
70:32 investigating rendering overhead based on game developer feedback Our Hope was
70:36 to build consensus on potential approaches to reduce overhead with additional data we have publicly asked
70:41 them to share the spec with us several times as part of examination of potential ways to improve apis and
70:45 increase efficiencies so that doesn't really sound a whole lot like they're
70:49 planning to use mantle or push towards mantle just want to mess with it it
70:53 sounds more like they just want to dink around with it in the lab which is I
70:56 don't know that's cool I get it maybe optimizations or something who knows uh
71:01 the Moto 360 watch face competition is over this is actually the one I liked
71:05 best even though I didn't end up voting one yeah yeah yeah yeah there there was
71:10 a couple that I was like oo I would have absolutely no problem with that one this
71:14 was definitely the one that I liked best yeah me too I mean as much as I don't
71:18 prefer to read an analog face if I don't
71:22 have to this looks really good yeah it does uh the one thing that does bother
71:27 me is a lot of the space is taken up with telling me the time whereas I would
71:33 like for a lot of the space to be taken up with reading my text message I have
71:36 pretty good eyes it can and I like small fonts yes I know you can you can change
71:40 it out to whatever you want but I wish that instead of just having an icon for
71:45 Gmail there was more room on the main watch face to to to
71:50 read messages like if we could put the time up here and then have message
71:54 previews down here something person I don't mind that because I don't want it to be aggressive yep and I don't I don't
72:00 hate this either I actually quite like well you said it was your favorite one I
72:04 didn't think you hated it just like personally I I don't like reading things
72:08 until I want to read them I end up marking things unread a lot because I'll
72:12 accidentally click on something and just be like damn it I need to read this later I'm not ready for this right now
72:16 so I don't mind it's kind of hiding in there for now this is funny because it
72:21 kind of ties into one of our sponsors
72:24 um where dollar oh right I keep forgetting that we're not doing the
72:30 normal thing uh this ties into one of our sponsors pretty well because Dollar
72:34 Shave club's whole thing is you know oh
72:37 razors with vibrating handles and all these features that actually don't do
72:42 anything we don't do any of that stuff um well this is oral be's new toothbrush
72:48 that pairs to your phone via Bluetooth freaking genius so this is supposed to
72:53 be by Nan and basically it gives you a
72:56 bunch of information including things like how you can brush for better
73:00 results and it can share your uh your
73:04 brushing habits with your healthc Care Professionals something that I'm sure
73:08 that my dentist would be like what if I
73:12 told them about it I care and there's that one time that you leave it plugged
73:16 in and on it's like he brushed for 3
73:19 days like what I'm sure there's a SA
73:23 guard against that I'm sure you sure I'm
73:27 pretty sure remember the zero voltage thing that happened no what is this that
73:33 that certain that certain board that reports voltage of your CPU and it was
73:37 like zero volts oh yeah right things that you would think it would just have
73:42 you like sanity checks built-in sanity checks need to be a thing yeah because
73:47 without them you can end up with some really funny software stuff um EV blog
73:53 how however he pronounces that this this is yeah anyways this is actually pretty
73:56 interesting uh posted a great video about how solar roadways are basically
74:03 um grade A BS um did the math and pretty
74:07 much at the end of the video the conclusion is they would consume more
74:13 power than they produce they have proven
74:16 absolutely nothing with respect to what
74:19 they can handle in terms of weight and what they can handle in terms of
74:24 traction um they are extremely expensive
74:28 you can watch the video here on the Forum if you want the original poster
74:32 here was jurr or something along those
74:37 lines um I mean it's a great idea in theory they raised over $2 million
74:42 through crowdfunding but it is pretty unlikely that this will see the light of
74:47 day in this generation it's something that we talked about originally on the
74:51 show and we kind of went okay yeah something a lot of people are
74:56 saying in twitch chat and uh yeah we know is that there's actually been a lot
75:00 of videos about this out for a long time this but this one was really good yeah
75:04 well some of the other ones are pretty good too but yeah either way so I mean
75:09 yeah so what we need then is just some
75:12 kind of outlandish idea that sounds like
75:16 really great to Eco Freaks and then we
75:19 need like a really great campaign video
75:22 and then freaking roadways well that wasn't their campaign video that's the
75:26 funny thing about it no but that's what drove more yes it drove a lot of it so
75:30 then we need like that we need to find that guy to make our our viral our viral
75:35 video should be like solar
75:39 trees they grow with
75:43 sunlight you should fund us they also make oxygen wow you need that to live
75:48 isn't that freaking awesome they look great in your yard and they live for
75:54 hundreds of years they're seasonal W or
75:58 they're not maybe not it's up to you
76:01 Evergreen you have the choice man
76:05 Evergreen can be a stretch
76:08 goal and growing your own weed plant can be the next stretch
76:13 goal stimulate economies if they make it
76:17 legal oh it's funny cuz we were in
76:21 Colorado yeah all right also posted by Twisted dictator on the Forum Witcher
76:26 three to feature boob
76:29 physics which is one of those things where it's like if Witcher 3 was the
76:33 first game to include boob physics then
76:37 this I guess good boob physics but apparently next power up thought it was
76:41 new so my favorite thing is either either they jump around and they just
76:45 sit there like solid bricks or they jump around and then they go like no one can
76:49 see you right now but I think they should probably see that illustration of
76:53 what you were talking about so I said I'm sorry how did you want the boobs to move again I didn't say I wanted them to
76:57 move this way I said with bad boob physics they do move this way so either
77:01 they jump around and they just sit there which is not realistic or they jump
77:05 around and then like a while afterwards it's like
77:09 oh that's not how they work either we've seen that in quite a few games and it
77:13 gets super stupid after a while or like there'll be a slight movement like
77:17 they'll just slightly get bumped and it's like
77:22 oh they'll just sit there bouncing for a while it's like no you know the thing is
77:27 if these real if these strategies didn't work game developers wouldn't do it so
77:33 for all the people who get all upset about this kind of thing just if you
77:37 didn't buy into it if you didn't make a bunch of noise about it it would go away
77:41 I'm down for more realistic gameplay so if they if they make that realistic
77:44 that's cool I think it should be and I'm all for equality so I think we should
77:47 have like realistic testicle
77:51 physics you know what if C you're playing rust if CD project red wanted to
77:58 seem like you know very uh equality
78:01 minded then they could they would definitely do that like if we had
78:06 realistic junk swaying but then there isn't that many games other than like
78:10 rust that you're actually going to see that yeah but they could well boobs are
78:15 very exterior you're going to see them even if they're covered up okay the
78:18 thing about the thing about the thing about breasts though is that game
78:21 developers designed game around making
78:24 sure that the breast physics are on display the whole time so they design
78:29 the female characters out you want someone to design a game based around
78:35 yeah having the junk physics there for
78:38 the world to see why not so the camera angle is going to have to be like down
78:44 all what or like you know how okay you
78:47 know how Laura Croft like shamelessly provocatively stretches whenever you're
78:52 not doing anything for so some dude's going to have to do like the unstick
78:55 step it's going to have to have realistic
78:59 physics or just like the you know the cry adjustment you
79:04 know oh no okay oh wow swimming
79:09 simulator 2014 yes all the banana hammocks we need the
79:15 NVIDIA to add that into their their their yeah Gameworks library for for
79:19 like junk physics
79:24 and all the viewers left no twitch
79:27 breaks every I know twitch breaks I'm just kidding oh man oh people on the
79:32 twitch chat are like stop please and
79:35 it's funny because your timing is excellent I think we're pretty much done
79:39 here are there any other topics in the dock you really wanted to hit uh we
79:43 didn't talk about Highlander at all but I guess we have all the videos coming so
79:46 it's not yeah Highlander videos will be coming you're going to see videos from
79:50 Austin you're going to see videos from us oh okay this is kind of a big deal
79:54 Microsoft is offering this was originally posted by good bites on the Forum Microsoft is offering up to $650
80:00 off a Surface Pro 3 if you exchange a MacBook Air at a Microsoft Store it does
80:06 have to be working but quite frankly I would take the
80:11 MacBook Air over the surface at this point which isn't to say I would buy a
80:17 Macbook but you bought a service I did but I'm going to sell it for yeah not
80:22 for MacBook yeah not for a Macbook I'm going to keep using my XPS 12 whoops
80:27 because to me this with the okay so here oops
80:34 that's basically how it works but okay so you get a little bit of not much more
80:40 thinness and it is lighter and it is smaller like it's significantly lighter
80:45 than the XPS 12 is it enough that it matters though like no it's it's enough
80:52 it's it's something okay so you get you get more thinness so there's that I mean
80:57 I'm not making the point here about the thinness it really is thinner you didn't
81:01 make much of a point about thinness or weight because there's not much weight
81:04 difference between there is a significant weight difference um but the
81:07 problem for me is that Windows 8 is not
81:11 a good tablet experience it's actually nothing to do with the hardware the
81:14 hardware the hardware is very beautiful
81:17 um pick it up more and then yeah junk
81:21 physics not that I'm calling the surface junk um the the problem is just there's
81:26 not enough USB ports two USB ports is minimum to call it like a reasonably
81:31 functional PC we get one um it does have mini DisplayPort out which is nice
81:36 compared to other tablets there's no SD card reader to my knowledge although
81:40 they might have hidden one under there no they didn't so there's no SD card reader or anything like that it is very
81:44 beautiful the kickstand is a lot better than the first gen which is the last
81:49 time I tried one it comes all the way out here so that gives you a lot of
81:52 different different options like you can sit on a plane and you can uh like lean
81:56 it up against the seat in front of you the magnetic lock for the keyboard is
82:00 pretty robust which is cool so you can kind of like lean it up against
82:03 something in bed or you can put it down here and you can rest it on your knee
82:07 and you can legitimately use it and all that stuff is great but the question I
82:12 have to ask myself is why would I ever use it without the keyboard and then if
82:17 I'm never going to use it without the keyboard then why wouldn't I just want
82:21 my keyboard occasionally attached once in a while I do use Windows 8 as a
82:27 tablet sorry yeah permanently attached like this once in a while I do use
82:32 Windows 8 as a tablet when that happens
82:35 this may be bulkier but it's good enough
82:38 because I'm not going to do it very often and that's going to be basically
82:42 the conclusion of my Surface review um
82:46 apparently Wendell has an SD card reader maybe I didn't find it I'm not done my
82:49 review yet like I'm not actually filming this until next week so I haven't
82:53 basically the way that I usually do my reviews is um it's under the hinge it's
82:58 under the hinge apparently that's a really weird oh that seems pretty
83:03 sensible under the hinge eh I don't I
83:06 don't oh maybe that's the micro SD slot right there there you go why would you
83:10 put micro SD on it really oh oh headache
83:15 anyway um
83:19 oh not helpful when I'm offloading footage on a
83:23 video set or something like that um oh
83:27 anyway where was I going with this right so the way I typically do a review is I
83:31 figure out as much as I can on my own without really looking at any other
83:35 media coverage of it then I go back and I look at sort of the launch press
83:39 release and all that stuff to make sure that I'm not missing anything critical so I would have figured the SD card out
83:44 I'm still not particularly pleased with it and I'm still not going to switch
83:48 from a convertible like this because it just doesn't make any sense to me I use
83:52 it as a tablet so rarely that I might as well have something that here this is
83:57 this is the ultimate example of why I'm
84:01 not going to use this because I can use it in my
84:06 lap sort of but why have this which if I
84:10 go to you know oh pick it up and it falls apart why have that when I can
84:16 just have this which is weighted correctly to not fall off the back of me
84:20 I can pick it up however I want I can turn it around I can use it like this
84:24 it's just a lot more flexible it's a lot more practical and it's cheaper so at
84:29 the same price I would take the XPS 12 at a lower price I would definitely take
84:34 the xps2 um I don't know that there are many
84:38 other convertibles that I like better than the xps2 though Sony's is terrible
84:42 like just tragic
84:46 um I I don't have a ton of experience with different convertibles I like that
84:50 one a lot though the yoga is excellent I when we had the yoga at at the ncx
84:55 office I liked it a lot oh people are bringing up the pen for the surface as
84:59 someone who doesn't use a pen um I'm not a big fan um people who are talking
85:04 about note taking with a pen yeah I I get that um however show them the thing
85:10 which thing oh the fact that the only way to take a screenshot is with the pen
85:14 oh no I meant like like oh right so my
85:18 issue with the pen is that it doesn't stash in the device and the Geniuses at
85:23 Microsoft I'm sure they're very smart legitimately but this is how you're
85:27 supposed to attach the pen to the surface there's a little magnet where
85:31 the uh where the the the charging port is that you're supposed to attach the
85:36 pen to it just comes off and then and then if you get a type cover the the
85:41 Innovative solution there is you stick a sticker on it don't worry any word oh
85:45 okay you stick a sticker to it and then you put the pen through the loop on the
85:49 sticker and I'm just like really you guys engineered
85:52 a fraction of a scent solution to a problem that actually matters that's
85:56 what you did just there I yeah like I the reason why I like how the 2DS is
86:00 made is it's super easy to get the pen because that's where they put the colored strap along the back it's not
86:05 even a strap like the colored piece of plastic is where the pen goes super easy
86:09 to grab it super easy to put it back I get that it's thin and that's great but
86:14 I'm sorry I just I'm not keeping it I was going to keep it if it was if it was
86:18 fantastic the keyboard though is not nearly as bad as people are making it
86:22 out to be I actually quite like the type cover keyboard it's surprisingly good so
86:28 there's that all right I think we're done here
86:32 guys thank you for watching The W show
86:35 if you're tuning in late the archive will be up on the YouTube sometime in
86:39 the next little while or up on Twitch immediately for those of you we had
86:43 someone complaining on the uh on the Forum about how the archive goes up
86:47 really late and it's just
86:50 like it's up right away on Twitch and they're just like I don't want to watch
86:53 on Twitch I'm like okay it's kind of like when people message me on Facebook
86:57 um hey uh I noticed on your Facebook it
87:00 says not to message you on Facebook and to message you on Twitter but um I don't
87:05 have Twitter so I'm messaging you here
87:08 I'm just like Twitter's free man sorry
87:12 there's a reason that I only accept messages on Twitter and here I will
87:15 screen share with you guys I will show you why I only accept messages on
87:21 Twitter I'm going to go on Facebook right now and I'm share with you guys
87:25 you're not screen sharing right now right nope okay cool not yet okay so
87:30 I'mma I'mma go on my I'mma go on my lonus tech Twitter Facebook
87:36 Malian okay here we go Twitter my
87:39 Facebook mation so here's my screen here
87:42 is why I will never reply to Facebook
87:46 messages because when I click on them
87:49 and I write a reply hello sorry I don't
87:53 reply to Facebook messages press enter to send actually
87:59 it's a lot faster now okay well they they're doing better it used to be
88:03 really really slow to load messages that slow it's better now that
88:08 was still pretty slow no that's pretty fast okay it used to be really slow now
88:11 I don't have an excuse but still RDM RTM
88:14 well there's there's there's there's methodology now you don't want to answer
88:18 there you want to answer someone else yes and the thing about Twitter too is I
88:21 get a lot of people tweeting me saying hey I want to ask you a question that's longer than 140 characters um how do I
88:26 do that and the answer is you don't because I get too many messages um the
88:31 best thing to do if you have a tech question is to post on the lineus tech
88:35 tips Forum it's like really good it is
88:38 that's a good place to go and ask questions because if you don't get the right answer the first time um someone
88:43 else will post the right answer at some point so someone do that and then Tweet
88:48 back to me saying that no one answered them they tweeted I checked times on
88:51 things they tweeted me like 3 minutes after they had posted their thing I
88:55 checked it like 30 minutes afterwards and by the time I checked it there was a
88:58 page and a half of comments nice I was like we should probably end the show at
89:03 some point here but I could I could gr tweets forever I have I am doing
89:07 Afterparty tonight and I am doing my 24-hour charity stream that I talked
89:10 about this weekend I don't know exactly when it'll start but it's happening you're crazy Child's Play Man Child's
89:15 Play is cool all right peace out guys bye
89:19 everyone oh dang it that
89:23 wasn't should we be
89:28 box I can't be box I'm
89:34 terrible see that's not percussion yeah
89:37 it's not really beat boxing either that's maybe
89:42 true I think we should have a junk physics shirt oh my God what would be
89:48 the logo though I think you know what the logo would be but then we couldn't
89:51 sell what
