see the perforated Grille of the earbud underneath the mount let's put this on for those of you don't know who one more is they are actually the most awarded headphone brand at CES and they have four time Grammy award-winning sound engineer Luca big Nardi tuning all of their audio products to make sure that they convey the artist's intent in your music and movies I believe you probably tuned the eqs that we're going to see in the app in a minute let's look at the case some more magnetic of course boom snap right in they sit in there in a really intuitive way sometimes in cases it's kind of I don't know if you have a small smooth brain like I do you have to do some gymnastics to figure out how they fit in but these just fit in in the most simple way possible and I like the Contours of the case here it's nice let's get these things paired just open up the lid hold on just open up the lid and there they are there is actually a pairing button on the back of the case that I did not have to press it's very subtle just this little circle right there all right I want to start by checking out this one more music app I probably could have paired it through here actually oh my goodness there's two colors well I have black okay so now here's the interface I can just tap double tap for play uh oh I guess I'll turn on Siri double tap dance or phone calls voice control triple tap one two three there she is and touch and hold for listening modes because there are actually several profiles for active noise canceling they're different aggressiveness levels we'll look at those in a bit touch and hold for that so according to those instructions these should be symmetrical controls we'll look at that you can see the battery level for the case and each earbud the case actually is wireless charging Qi charging compatible and they're advertising 28 hours of playback across you know the battery of the case and the earbuds and just 15 minutes of charging can get you three hours of audio playback I can see my listening modes here so I'm going to hold down and see if it switches between them yep there's a and C okay and I switched to transparent and I switched to off so it only Cycles through the three which I think is the right move and it's in the app that you specify when it Cycles the ANC which ANC do you want it to go to a strong mild wnr is a wind resistant one and adaptive I I would think huh actually I don't know I was gonna say I think most people would use adaptive but maybe you just either like strong or mild I don't know personal preference what would I do probably adaptive and then what do you got here spatial audio this is a big one on here the spatial audio and head tracking on these earphones works with every track and every device it doesn't need to be on an iPhone it doesn't need to be a supported track that was mixed for spatial audio it just works we're gonna try that that out in a bit I'll turn that on now it's a toggle this toast is set up complete it's uh interesting I don't think it's really needed uh smart loudness what that is those are curves of equal loudness your ears are actually differently sensitive to different frequencies at different volumes so what happens is you turn down the music and suddenly you can't hear the bass anymore because your ears aren't that sensitive to Bass so what they'll do here is crank up the bass as you turn down the volume oh yeah look at that little animation it makes the sound experience more consistent at different volume levels you gotta have it so you can actually adjust how aggressive the curves of equal loudness are so if I crack it like that I turn this down you still have pretty thumpy bass if I go all the way here well the base fell off I can barely hear it now interesting I don't think I've ever seen an app that lets you control that aspect of it it's kind of hard to grab this little dot though I'll say that sound options that's probably gonna be the eqs yes preset eqs Studio bass reducer bass boost you're kind of standard ones vocal booster but I want that for podcasts uh let's go to Studio that sounds good and custom EQ nice you love to see it a lot of gradations whoop you can set this a lot of earphones will just give you bass mids and highs and a lot of times don't even tell you what frequency your sauce is those correspond to but these frequencies are labeled here it's non-linear some of the jumps are like that's like a 5000k jump whereas over here it's only a couple hundred at least it's labeled right and you can go up to plus or minus three on here I'll just reset that and get the heck out of here but that's cool and then you got custom settings oh this is where you change the interface for yourself so you can make it so they're not symmetrical and you can adjust the double tap and the triple the top Behavior here's our single tap Behavior forget it doesn't look like it I see that on a fair number of earphones but I don't know why I guess that's to avoid accidental Taps and it does look like you can yeah it looks like you can adjust any one of the parameters for each of the interactions sometimes they limit you to a subset of interactions per parameter but these are completely agnostic so that's cool I enjoy that soothing sounds holy I can just play some white noise built in don't have to suck data then that's pretty good got Summer Rain medium fire that is soothing oh boy someone else had crab bucket going that's not in my Rolodex of test songs but it's a good song let's check it out I would say these uh definitely get loud enough this is already louder than I would usually listen to and it's only about 80 percent now do I have I have head tracking on here oh yeah cool now let's see if that's this case on a different app if I go to YouTube instead of Apple music well I still have that oh look at another crab song well it's true special audio's on up there it goes Autumn automatically pauses when you pull them out I would say these are pretty comfortable they're pretty light and they one of their talking points here is long lasting comfort so far no reason to disbelieve that although you do Gotta Wear earphones for at least an hour before you really know that in my experience just gonna test out the different levels of that aggressive or not aggressive ANC strong I'm basically living in a void right now mild it still works that's for sure I can't hear any of the fan noise from the cameras or HVAC humming or anything like that the wind versus one here come blowing my face okay I got ANC on mild right now I can hear the fan but less strong you know what as I sit here with strong on I can hear kind of little crackles or pops a little kind of like frictiony sounds of wind I guess the wind's going through the microphones now what happens when I go wnr those disappear the fan noise of the engine is a little louder because the ANC isn't as strong it's not cutting out bad as much but all those little like close-ups are gone so that's pretty cool what about adaptive What's it gonna do uh it's not like wnr it's more like strong or mild okay cool they say that the ANC I assume this applies to the strong setting can remove up to 42 decibels of loudness and finally how do these work with you know being active well I can tell you that they feel reasonably in my ears even though they don't feel like super penetrative they're more like airpods pros than airpods and that you know these actually do go in your ears and make a seal I don't know for some reason they still maybe because the body is so out here they still kind of feel a little shallow but nonetheless they feel really in your ears and they have an ipx5 water resistance or Ingress Protection rating which is pretty cool uh typically what you see typically is the ipx4 which is just like splashes and stuff this takes to the next level so that's great to see I wouldn't go swimming in them
