You know, I text, I call, I browse Reddit, I watch the occasional YouTube video, and so I guess that's why they chose me to unbox the Pixel 10A because I've got a 7A. I don't upgrade and I don't buy expensive phones. Um I just don't think you have to. I think they're kind of a waste of money, personally. Sorry to everyone I'm going to hurt with that comment who paid $2,000 for a Fold or uh even just like $1,000 for an iPhone. Or I think even the Pixel 10 regular is like $899. I don't get it, personally. But also, I don't do a lot of work on my phone. So, just to be clear for anyone who's a little upset, this is purely for utilitarian stuff and for keeping myself a little bit entertained. Uh but what do we get in the box? Well, it opened pretty easily, actually. I didn't expect to go through that so quickly while talking to you, but otherwise we got our phone. We get a little SIM card tool as well as this is probably like a warranty thing or a quick start guide. Yep, there we go. We've also got a nice USB-C to C cable. It's nicely packaged. I like how coiled up it is. You know, I'm I'm okay with not getting bricks in device packages anymore. It definitely sucks if you're buying your very first device or whatever, but um I feel like they're kind of a waste now and most of you out there you probably just have one from your previous device, like a laptop or something. Uh otherwise, my packaging ripped ever so slightly. Uh I think they've updated it since the 7A. It's been a while, um but I don't remember getting it in this like cool uh like parchment paper kind of um enclosure, but I actually really like it. It seems to, you know, protect everything nicely. And then, that's it. And you know, when you're only paying like $499, I think that's totally okay. As for the length of our cable, it is pretty short. It's about 40 in, so not very long. If you do want to buy another cable, hey, we sell them. lttstore.com get a true spec cable Uh um because I don't even know what this is rated for. Probably not a whole lot, but you know, it's good enough. As for our phone, it comes in four different colors. This is the berry color, which I kind of like. I'm not a big red guy. I actually prefer like blues and greens, but like this is actually a very nice kind of orangey red almost or like a pink and yeah, it feels pretty good in the hand. Actually, what I want to do is take my old phone out of the case and compare them side by side. It's about the same size, but we have significantly more rounded corners. And so yeah, that actually would probably feel a lot better in the hand. Yeah, it's already way less pressure just on like, you know, whatever your palm or thumb or something while you're scrolling through stuff. So that actually is a welcome change. And the other great upgrade over the 7A as well as the 9A and I think even the 10 is this looks taller, doesn't it? That's because this is a massive camera bump. This doesn't. And I'm actually really impressed. And it's one of the few reasons why I would even consider upgrading my phone at this point cuz this thing is still fine. It's not that old. The battery is okay. The pictures are good enough. So this is the normal 10, not the 10A, but like look at the massive camera bump on this thing. It is better. This one does have a telephoto lens on it that the doesn't. So if you are considering a new device, I think that personally most new cameras on new phones are like more than good enough for the vast majority of you people out there taking photos of yourselves or your kids or your lunch or whatever, but if you're a little more serious, you might want the telephoto, but I mean man, look at the bulge you're getting with that. Is it worth it? Not to me. Even the 9A, which is way less prominent than the 10, it still has a minor camera bump. And so when you're sliding your hand across it, it just doesn't feel good. Whereas like this, yeah, this will slide right in and out of my pant pockets like no problem. Um, I don't like using cases if I can avoid it, uh, but you know, because of the camera bump, that's actually a big part of why I have this Dbrand case is because I want the sleekest, most comfortable, small device to fit into my pants pocket as I can possibly find. I would love it if phones actually got smaller because I kind of miss the days of like really tiny flip phones, but that's not the case. These are about the same size diagonally and that's fine. This is kind of the normal phone size that I'm okay with at this point. I just wish things were a little shorter. You might notice there's some major cracks on this one. That's Linus' fault. He took the 9A home and dropped it. Maybe don't drop your phones, put screen protectors on, put cases on. One of the big advantages of the 10A over the 9A as well is it's got some new glass, some new Corning Gorilla Glass 7i. It's better than the old stuff. Otherwise, they look damn near identical. We've got the same buttons and volume rockers here. Same USB ports, although the 9A has your SIM card on the bottom and the 10A has put it to the traditional side. As for some of the major differences between the 10 and the 10A, basically what you're getting when you're saving all of that money, and it is hundreds of dollars, it's like almost half the price for this phone versus this one, you're getting less RAM. This has only 8 gigs instead of 12, which, yeah, 100% if you're computer gaming, like you want more like 16 these days at minimum, but on a phone that I'm just going to, you know, browse Reddit and watch some YouTube videos on, 8 gigs is plenty in my opinion. The other major difference that you might actually care about is the 10 has the Tensor G5 from Google, whereas this has the Tensor G4. With that said, are you going to actually notice that much of a performance difference? Maybe power users, but the average person who this is actually marketed to, I don't think so. And while the glass is different, they both support a 120 hertz screen. That's my only real complaint about my 7A versus these is that this one's only 90 hertz, I think, refresh rate on the screen. It's not 120, but it's not 60. So, I'll take it. Another pretty cool feature is this will actually be able to tell you the battery health of your device. We went to check my 7A cuz, you know, I've had it for a few years, maybe the battery's degraded. Doesn't support it. Pixel 8 and later. So, I just missed the boat. But, that's okay cuz this is a brand new phone and it's got a pretty solid battery. We measured something like 23 and a quarter hours in our longevity battery test, which is actually really good. And so, I don't think you're going to have any issues. Man, I got to say the 120 hertz, I do notice it like right away. This is just so clean. So smooth. Oh man, okay. All right, maybe it's time for me to upgrade. I love a good display. And this actually has a crazy good display. We measured over 4,000 nits peak in SDR and just under that in HDR, about 3,800 nits. So, it gets brighter than most of the content you're ever going to be watching on it in the first place, which is fantastic. Yeah, God, this really is a very pretty display and that is kind of killing me. Just scrolling through at 120 hertz, it looks so much smoother. Even the 90, man. I don't need a new phone. I don't need a new phone. Okay, how's the camera though? That's cuz that's what like most people care about. The reality is like I don't even take a ton of pictures. But, for example, Wade's here from DankPods. So, I wanted to get a picture of us, right? Cuz, you know, that's what people do. And yeah, my camera was good enough, but maybe I could get better. Motion Whoa, okay. So, before you start, you get a bunch of cool new camera stuff. Motion photo, top shot, auto best take. This already looks better than my camera though. Not like a ton. Not a ton.
