That's right, I use a G Pro X Superlight, and this is the G Pro X Superlight 2C, which is a name that is too long. It is wild. How did they think that was acceptable? The thing that makes this special is the C at the end of the 2C. >> [music] >> It's compact. It's cool. It's crazy. The C stands for all of those things. Inside the box, you get your mouse. You get your C to A adapter plus your A dongle. You get a cable. This is nicer packaging than I feel like I've seen for a while with mice. I feel like they've been getting cheaper and cheaper under the guise of environmentally friendly, but this is pretty slick packaging, not too restrictive, either. At the end, you're kind of left with a semi-reusable box. We have our quick start guide and instruction manual. We also have grip tape. That seems to be a a trend that's happening more and more. No extra skates, which actually I would prefer over the grip tape, but you do have a different bottom uh with glide skates on it because what's installed in the mouse is actually just an ad for an additional product that you don't have. This is stupid waste of money. Why would they include an extra disc that is just objectively worse than the one with the glide skates on it. That doesn't make any sense. Get it together, Logitech. Next, we have what seems to be a 6-ft long non-braided cable, just rubber. It's decent quality, but it is certainly not what I would hope to see in such a high-end product. It's fine. It's just a cable, and you're probably not even going to use it anyway. You probably already have >> [music] >> a type-C cable coming off your computer to your mouse to charge. You're fine. The grip tape has a sort of like rubberized leather sort of feel. I don't use it. I have fairly sweaty hands, but not so sweaty that I really need that in my life. I also find these get so grimy and gross on top of the normal grimy and grossness that mice get. So, bye-bye. Here we go. This is what you need in the box. We did it. And the star of the show, the mouse. At first glance, I would not blame you for not being able to tell the difference between a regular Superlight and this. They are basically the exact same shape shrunk down, but not even shrunk down to a super high level where it's immediately obvious that it's a smaller mouse. Even in my hand, it's like yeah, I was literally using a G Pro upstairs, and this is smaller, but it's not that much smaller. What I will say is that I'm more naturally inclined to claw grip this size of mouse. Even with that subtle difference, it is a difference in grip. And really, with mice being the way they are, the shape of it is the biggest differentiating factor between all of the high-end mice, as well as price. And so, this might be a good option for you if you've held a G Pro and you're like, \"Ah, it's just >> [music] >> a little too big.\" You might be interested in this. You might also be interested in these buttons. They are about as travelly as I have felt in a long time on a gaming mouse. Every part of this button, it feels like it's like really moving, which could be good for you, could be bad for you, but that's really noticeable how much travel we got. This button experience is due in part to Logitech's proprietary Lightforce switches, which seem to be a hybrid optical-mechanical switch, which they are not clear exactly what's going on there, and they don't tell you how many clicks it's rated for, which is a bit of a bummer in a world where we're getting like 80 million click switches. I expect this to probably be in the 10 to 20 million range cuz that's what they've had on previous mice, and that kind of sucks in a world where our mice are very performance way beyond what we need, reliability is becoming one of the main factors in why you would spend so much on a gaming [music] mouse. The scroll wheel feels pretty good in its scrolling tactility. The clicking is kind of mushy and crappy, not the best. On the side, we have two side buttons. They're a lighter click than the top uh and a pretty consistent experience across the shape of them. If I was to claw grip this, what I'm finding immediately with the shape is that both the side buttons and especially the scroll wheel are really far forward. Like, if you look at this in the top down, it feels like the scroll wheel should be a little further back based on at least where my fingers naturally land on this thing. Like, not a big deal. I can reach that, but it's like it would be nice if I could just go here for my scroll wheel experience. So, don't love the side buttons' positions. What I do love is the amount of PTFE glide skates on the bottom. Look at that. That's like barely even a mouse. It's more glide skate than mouse, man. That's crazy. You could swap it out for the one without it. You would presumably save less than a gram. I don't see any reason not to use this if you don't have the power play puck. They keep things simple on the bottom with just a on-off switch, which means that there is no Bluetooth mode. It is just using a dongle with 2.4 GHz or a wired mode through the type-C port on the front. It is fairly recessed in there. You might have struggles not using this type-C cable, but it is a fairly chunky type-C cable, so I think it should your experience should be fine. Other than that and a little bit of branding on the side and top, it is a ridiculously simple-looking mouse, and that is part of its success. It is a no-nonsense machine with a focus on getting the engineering right to have it be a very light experience. This is a 51-g mouse without the dongle inside, which means that it's on the lighter end of gaming mice, but it is not on the cutting edge of high-end gaming mice in terms of weight. However, we're so far past the point of diminishing returns. If this is the shape that you are in love with or you're Logitech faithful, I think 51 g is very sufficient. What you can also expect at the high end is an incredible sensor. We have the Hero 2 sensor up to 44,000 DPI, 888 IPS, and 88 Gs of acceleration. This is far beyond what you need for your mouse to be good. Up to 95 hours of battery life, as well as an 8K Hz polling rate if you're into that kind of thing. And that's kind of it. And that's fine. Gaming mice don't have to have a ton of features to do what they do really well. You just want a good shape, good materials, reliability, solid sensor, and this has it. But does it have what it takes to be special? Let's find out after we tell you about our sponsor. UGREEN. Are you sick of paying out the wazoo for cloud storage? Maybe it's time to switch to a NAS. With a UGREEN NAS, you can store up to 60 TB of data locally. That's 20 million pictures, 40,000 movies, or over 60 million files, whatever that means. Plus, you can use it to automatically back up from your iPhone or Mac, share files with your family and friends, and you can even connect instantly via NFC on most devices. 1 gigabit networking means that you'll be transferring a whole gig worth of files in just a few seconds, much quicker than cloud options, and it's compatible with a wide range of third-party hard drives. And thanks to RAID redundancy, your files can be safe even during a drive failure. So, head to our link in the description to check out the UGREEN NAS DH2300 today. Excellent. Once we install the software, we can connect the mouse and configure it. We don't even have to plug it in directly. Big fan of that. >> [music] >> Tells us what we got, just so we can be happy we can be happy with our purchase. I'm going to skip that, though. I don't need that. Okay, first thing we can do is change our DPI settings. I'm guessing there's a button combo for like profile switching, but I don't see I don't see that. Why am I getting so overwhelmed by this menu for a very simple mouse? Once we're in our software, we can adjust our different profiles. There's already a ton here. I'm surprised. It's kind of overwhelming how many there are. We can set if we want lots of different DPI settings that we can assign to a button or a button combination of our keyboard and mouse, so we can swap between them. I will not be doing that. I wish to only use one slot, and it will be 800. We can also change our wireless report rate up to 8,000 and our wired report rate up to 1,000. Bit of a bummer. We can also calibrate our Hero sensor. Oh, that's something that's not super common. Copy sensitivity. Adjust one mouse to mimic the feel of another mouse. Okay, so the Hero sensor calibration isn't like a calibrating so much as a [music] matching the feel of another mouse. That's kind of interesting, but I will not be doing that. You can also swap it to advanced mode, which uh basically gives you access to having different sensitivity on the Y and X axis, as well as your your lift-off distance. [music] And then we can like duplicate our presets, share our presets, uh you know, like the you and the boys do on Facebook. You're like, \"Check out my DPI settings.\" Next, we can change the assignments. Um it looks like we can assign mouse functions to button combos. Um this is very deep, but uh this is not what we need. Um and seeing as there is no RGB on this mouse, shout out Logitech for the right decision. Then we can change our scroll wheel. Oh, so we can turn on bunny hop mode, which basically uh means that you have to scroll twice to actually kind of activate it. Uh I don't want to do that because I will just be like down one at a time for my weapon selection. Oh, I actually really like this menu. We can see the approximate uh battery life based on our settings that we have, which is about 18 hours because we're using 8,000 Hz polling rate. Lightforce switch mode. Oh, so it's either hybrid, which I'm guessing engages just the mechanical part, and then optical only, which presumably would actually save me battery life based on this power saving. >> [music] >> Gaming surface mode. If I turn it on, sensor parameters are optimized for gaming-specific surfaces. Okay. Off. sensor parameters are optimized for compatibility with a wide range of surfaces. And auto, sensor will automatically [music] detect the type of surface. Well, I only game on gaming surfaces that I get from lttstore.com, so I'm going to choose that. And onboard memory mode and then I have my different profile things. Okay. Uh, strange that the most exciting part of the menu was the like system menu that was sort of hidden away. Um, but I really like that one, so that's great. But will I really like it a lot when I play games? Huh. Immediately in game, this is a very familiar experience for me. Uh, I use a superlight. Uh, this feels very very similar, slightly smaller, so I'm clawing it a little bit more. Responsiveness is great. The accuracy is great as we tested it. The latency is also great. We tested it both wired and wireless at 1.31 milliseconds, which is not sub 1 millisecond, which is sort of the ideal. Um, but this is still very good. It is interesting that both wired and wireless are exactly the same, although we had uh, a wider scatter on the wired testing. So we don't know if that's like a crosstalk thing or maybe it's just an optimization over wireless sort of thing. Um, cuz I'm guessing that Logitech has optimized this mouse to be used in wireless mode more than a wired mode. Why would you buy this and use it in wired mode? One thing I'm interested in that the Labs noted is that they were sometimes getting right clicks when they pressed really hard on the left click. Oh, you can sort of see the flex. So you can see the whole mouse is kind of shifting a little bit. And they were reporting that sometimes they would get phantom clicks on the right side. So that's something that's kind of interesting. I have a feeling that if you have a very very heavy hand, that's the only time it would be an issue. I was pressing pretty hard. The other thing they noted was that it's a very loud sound. That goes with the amount of click and travel that there is. It kind of has a little bit of like a ping, almost a musical tone to it. So that means this really would not be a good office mouse if you share an office with someone who is sensitive to sounds. >> [laughter] >> It's really hard to give first impressions on mice because they're all so solid these days. Like they they keep refreshing them and updating them when we already reached end game mice several years ago. To me, it's getting frustrating that they're spending so much money on designing these new mice and providing so little upgrade versus previous years mice. Um, especially when it's $160 now. $160 for a high-end gaming mice, not even top end, just like that's just the zone it's in. And so I think this is a very solid option. If you've always liked the G Pro lineup, you wanted an X uh, a superlight, >> [music] >> this is good if you wanted it to be a little bit smaller and a little bit more clawable. Um, but it really doesn't rewrite the book, which is good. That's there's a reason why this lineup was one of the most popular lineups. >> [music] >> Um, but in a world where other manufacturers are kind of disrupting the market aggressively, it's hard to recommend this specifically when you can get a Hitman Hyperlight or any of the Keychron mice. I didn't realize they made as broad of a lineup as they did. It's crazy. It'll have similar specs at prices that are much more digestible. We're talking like 90 bucks or 40 to 70 dollars. However, [music] if $160 is not a deterrent to you and you were looking for a slightly smaller mouse, this is a very solid option that I think you could check out and look a little bit more deeper at.
