I","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":19.8,"end_s":24.16,"text":"ain't no shower brother oh yeah well like well like the electrical tape or","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":24.16,"end_s":27.36,"text":"something yeah just something so that like okay your fingers there you don't","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":27.36,"end_s":31.64,"text":"like we understand why yeah well I mean it says the person to put the black on","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":31.64,"end_s":39.84,"text":"the neutral well that's a oh just like wrap it around the whole thing","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":39.84,"end_s":44.6,"text":"it's just electrical tape I wonder if I can do something like this here let me","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":44.6,"end_s":49.0,"text":"just let me just do a thing real quick what are you doing I am going like this","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":49.0,"end_s":54.72,"text":"so that that won't come off what the problem is not even it coming off it's","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":54.72,"end_s":62.48,"text":"someone touching it well yeah how are they gonna touch it through the electrical tape okay there how are you gonna touch it now smart guy yeah","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":62.48,"end_s":68.32,"text":"exactly that's my point I mean it's way better than what you did the one safe","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":68.32,"end_s":71.56,"text":"place that you can touch you've covered with electrical tape yeah but I it's","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":71.56,"end_s":77.36,"text":"also it's like it's in the way of touching the unsafe place see look there","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":77.36,"end_s":80.84,"text":"happy now surely we know a bit more about this than what was on the LA","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":80.84,"end_s":87.64,"text":"Express page a tiny bit tap tap tap tap on our forum originally showed us one","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":87.64,"end_s":90.96,"text":"of these and we were just like okay let's buy it that was pretty much the","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":90.96,"end_s":95.48,"text":"entire research that's not more Kyle tell me about the controller boards I","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":95.48,"end_s":98.68,"text":"looked at this about 20 minutes before we started shooting and we know what some","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":98.68,"end_s":104.0,"text":"of the connectors do temperature yes for what good question oh god we had to","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":104.0,"end_s":108.64,"text":"outdoor and exhaust well we had to translate that from something in Chinese","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":108.68,"end_s":113.16,"text":"by outdoor they're doing run this out doors there's outdoor we're assuming it","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":113.16,"end_s":118.0,"text":"means ambient I guess and the red one is exhaust of what yeah yeah we don't know","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":118.0,"end_s":123.44,"text":"okay this is a tensiometer assuming for fan control but our fan is actually","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":123.44,"end_s":126.64,"text":"wired directly into 24 volts so it's going to be running at 100% no matter","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":126.64,"end_s":131.2,"text":"what we do so we can probably ignore that one this is communication to what","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":131.2,"end_s":135.16,"text":"about what I'm assuming to a temperature controller that it communicates over you","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":135.16,"end_s":143.44,"text":"are or some sort of two-line protocol I figured something out okay you got your","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":143.44,"end_s":147.08,"text":"compressor here okay you got your condenser right here yep just like you","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":147.08,"end_s":151.28,"text":"would for an air conditioning unit but then instead of an evaporator which for","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":151.28,"end_s":154.68,"text":"your air conditioner would be another one of these that blows the cold air into","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":154.68,"end_s":160.52,"text":"your room you've got a heat exchanger so we take the refrigerant that goes","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":160.52,"end_s":163.92,"text":"through one side of the heat exchanger and then we have these two barb fittings","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":164.08,"end_s":171.0,"text":"that will take that chilled water and run it to something well you gave away the","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":171.0,"end_s":174.6,"text":"keep away the whole fun I mean I guess that was in the intro anyway so we're","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":174.6,"end_s":178.2,"text":"gonna cool a computer with it we're gonna cool anything else with it I don't","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":178.2,"end_s":184.96,"text":"know like a brassiere who knows what the fix of Brazil what I don't know are you","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":184.96,"end_s":188.6,"text":"well do we want to try and actually turn it on first I mean I would think so yeah","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":188.6,"end_s":192.56,"text":"okay so we're finished with the power supply I know we got to run the DC lines","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":192.56,"end_s":197.32,"text":"yes wait how can we run this off these wimpy little whatever if it has 600","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":197.32,"end_s":202.56,"text":"watts of cooling capacity there's no way I mean here are thick these cables up yeah","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":202.56,"end_s":205.64,"text":"exactly those are a lot thicker than these where'd you guys get these wimpy","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":205.64,"end_s":210.28,"text":"cables the wire drawer we don't have larger stuff right oh my god it's fine","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":210.28,"end_s":215.72,"text":"it's fine wait can't we just sacrifice another power cable it's fine no it's","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":215.72,"end_s":220.64,"text":"fine it's fine it'll be fine it just gets hot and then it's fine we have a","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":220.68,"end_s":227.16,"text":"fleer we can just look at them and be like oh those might catch on fire yeah if they get too hot we'll just stop but it's gonna be fine yeah it was fine it","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":227.16,"end_s":231.64,"text":"just gets warm that's the definition of not fine when it comes to electrical","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":231.64,"end_s":236.28,"text":"wire how warm it gets before it catches fire you just gotta be under that also","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":236.28,"end_s":240.04,"text":"the ignition temperature is really high yeah well like you don't want to melt","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":240.04,"end_s":246.28,"text":"the sheet and forget about ignition if it melts and then shorts that's the problem oh my god the fact that I'm the responsible adult here what are you","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":246.32,"end_s":250.44,"text":"talking about this is your flippant duct tape solution yeah and you can't touch","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":250.44,"end_s":255.32,"text":"the thing did you put that on the minus side yes I know how that thing works I","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":255.32,"end_s":259.24,"text":"have no trust apparently before we hook it up we yeah yeah yeah yeah it's hooked","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":259.24,"end_s":262.84,"text":"up no we need to plug it in and make sure it's actually on these connectors","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":262.84,"end_s":268.92,"text":"there you go it's spaded she checks to make sure I plug into the right no he","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":268.92,"end_s":273.48,"text":"did I saw him what I actually hold on what I'm doing is you have to make sure","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":273.48,"end_s":279.0,"text":"it's actually outputting 24 volts because there's a trim pot here that if you","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":279.0,"end_s":283.32,"text":"do it wrong so now we get to plug in power to see if you plugged it in","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":283.32,"end_s":287.24,"text":"correctly it doesn't matter you can leave one of them and you just can't","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":287.24,"end_s":291.16,"text":"all right all right in all seriousness before we connect this to our","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":291.16,"end_s":294.84,"text":"compressor which for all we know it could be very sensitive about its input","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":294.84,"end_s":299.72,"text":"voltage I don't know anything about DC compressors we need to verify that our","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":299.72,"end_s":303.12,"text":"power supply is actually outputting 24 volts now this is a mean well power","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":303.12,"end_s":307.2,"text":"supply and they don't just mean well they actually do well","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":307.2,"end_s":310.64,"text":"seriously it's a good power supply brand it has a potentiometer on it that can","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":310.64,"end_s":314.32,"text":"adjust the output voltage so by doing a quick checky check here","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":314.32,"end_s":319.6,"text":"24.18 volts perfect sounds good to me why oh my god it's not going to matter","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":319.6,"end_s":323.6,"text":"what do you how much is 24.18 it's fine oh but why is it not 24","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":323.6,"end_s":327.04,"text":"we haven't been married long enough to squabble like this I think we squabble","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":327.04,"end_s":330.4,"text":"like this ever since our interview mate","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":330.48,"end_s":334.16,"text":"I mean in fairness to you the assignment we gave you for the interview was very","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":334.16,"end_s":338.4,"text":"stupid yeah that was Nick and Alex no that was my idea was it your idea yeah","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":338.4,"end_s":342.08,"text":"the water cooled mouse oh it was your idea yeah that was dumb we asked our","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":342.08,"end_s":346.56,"text":"engineers in their interviews to just brainstorm have a brainstorm session to","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":346.56,"end_s":351.44,"text":"theorize a product that you know is stupid but we used to do that is a","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":351.44,"end_s":354.8,"text":"challenge you know oh you don't do we now do trial days we just hide them for a","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":354.8,"end_s":357.84,"text":"day and give them real thank you for cutting all of us out of there whatever","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":357.92,"end_s":361.44,"text":"it's interesting it is interesting it'll be in the Floatplane exclusive yeah","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":361.44,"end_s":365.92,"text":"hey Floatplane hi so I can just go for it now we should probably fill this first","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":365.92,"end_s":369.76,"text":"and get the pump going oh yeah because you want the evaporator to actually","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":369.76,"end_s":374.4,"text":"evaporate instead of not just pumping like we're for drink back around you've","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":374.4,"end_s":377.68,"text":"got water already wow you were totally doing stuff while we were arguing","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":377.68,"end_s":382.32,"text":"wow where's the return oh just straight into the ride yeah where's the pump just","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":382.32,"end_s":386.08,"text":"below it the pump is in here it cools nothing perpetual motion cooling","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":386.16,"end_s":390.24,"text":"machine it cools itself whoa okay hold on hold on hold on hold on can we just","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":390.24,"end_s":394.24,"text":"show the people what power supply we're using what happened to this guy it's","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":394.24,"end_s":398.72,"text":"from the shipping damage computer oh yes I fixed it with a hammer","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":399.68,"end_s":405.6,"text":"I put a new what brand is this I don't know never heard of this FSP FSP is great full of","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":405.6,"end_s":409.28,"text":"water and I think we're good to go one less janky thing about our setup is that","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":409.28,"end_s":413.28,"text":"instead of just jamming a paperclip into the end of our 24 pin connector we've","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":413.36,"end_s":418.4,"text":"got this little jumper block from C-Sonic that we'll turn on our power supply by","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":418.4,"end_s":421.52,"text":"jump ring the green and the black wires okay hold on hold on I got this that's","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":421.52,"end_s":428.88,"text":"so much safer than putting a paperclip there what yeah it is DC well yes it's more professional","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":428.88,"end_s":438.72,"text":"oh wait wait wait wait oh oh oh this video has good luck editor vibes to it right now","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":438.72,"end_s":443.92,"text":"no it's it's gonna be absolutely fantastic time for the moment of truth our water's at 23 degrees","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":443.92,"end_s":451.84,"text":"and if this has the kind of cooling capacity that it advertises that number should go down","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":452.64,"end_s":456.96,"text":"pretty darn quickly I mean the fan's not spinning yeah this did not that's a problem","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":458.16,"end_s":463.52,"text":"no it's fine it's fine everything's fine I mean there's no d there's no ac here is it a dc","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":463.6,"end_s":470.32,"text":"compressor no it's a it's a it's a it's a three phase it's a bl dc wait it takes dc in and then","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":470.32,"end_s":475.76,"text":"it has an inverter to go back to ac well why would we go ac to dc then dc to ac that doesn't seem","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":475.76,"end_s":483.2,"text":"very efficient uh no you would just go ac in and then convert to dc for your stupid fan and your","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":483.2,"end_s":492.32,"text":"ic's no no no no no no no no no no no your car takes a dc voltage from your battery and inverts","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":493.12,"end_s":496.8,"text":"why doesn't your car just run off ac well because it runs off of gasoline","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":496.8,"end_s":503.44,"text":"no you drive an electric car you know bro yeah because they don't make ac batteries","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":504.08,"end_s":509.36,"text":"no hey these motors are designed to take a dc input you invert it and you put into three phases","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":509.36,"end_s":513.92,"text":"and it goes the only reason why you have this is because if you don't have this you have to put","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":513.92,"end_s":519.84,"text":"this on that so you're saying that this is it's not the same it's not the same ac thing you can't","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":519.84,"end_s":524.64,"text":"just say oh that's it it uses a when you say ac do you mean air conditioning or alternating current","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":524.64,"end_s":529.28,"text":"you do this on purpose now and it doesn't you guys are bickering a lot but uh nothing's happened","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":529.28,"end_s":537.04,"text":"with this besides this chip should i just start like shorting pins no no please okay i'm gonna short","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":537.04,"end_s":545.92,"text":"these two pins why is there one red led on i think the red led means it has power everything is fine","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":545.92,"end_s":553.52,"text":"no it means it has power led zero nice useful because if something if something's going to go","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":553.52,"end_s":558.64,"text":"boom it's going to go boom now so what i'm doing is i'm doing a very janky method i'm going to try","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":558.64,"end_s":567.36,"text":"and like use a 9k resistor to short the temperature probes to see if it'll turn on okay that was pretty","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":567.36,"end_s":573.12,"text":"anticlimactic why does the resistor work instead of just like jumping with metal these are potentially","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":573.12,"end_s":578.88,"text":"connectors for thermistors i'm assuming it's thermistors so it's like a temperature sensitive","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":578.88,"end_s":583.84,"text":"resistor oh like just like a k probe or something this is a thermocouple yeah it's got twisted twisted","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":583.84,"end_s":590.96,"text":"pairs of metal right and then they use the um the junction voltage to the ones where like the the","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":590.96,"end_s":595.2,"text":"the hotter they get the more resistance they are the more or less resistance they do yeah yeah yeah","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":595.2,"end_s":600.72,"text":"so when that happens yeah it would turn on so usually if you're to use a thermistor it's","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":600.72,"end_s":606.48,"text":"average to 10k so 10k at room temperature got it so what i'm trying to do is make it a lower","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":606.48,"end_s":610.72,"text":"resistance to hopefully try and turn it on considering i have no friggin clue how this thing works","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":610.72,"end_s":614.96,"text":"so pretty much what i volunteered to do just start shorting things yep you're not shorting it this","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":614.96,"end_s":623.2,"text":"is not a short a short isn't it physically very short okay well that was anticlimactic","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":625.76,"end_s":629.76,"text":"okay so we really actually have no idea i assumed when they called me to set they","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":629.84,"end_s":636.56,"text":"did actually know what was so i just messing with no we have no idea well hold on hold on like","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":636.56,"end_s":640.4,"text":"i'm gonna go to the park we wanted to do this on camera to get you think that we didn't google","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":640.4,"end_s":644.72,"text":"the part number line i mean anything's possible at this point do you know how much information","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":644.72,"end_s":648.88,"text":"there is what i'm trying to do is figure out how the control system works these are color coded so","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":648.88,"end_s":654.72,"text":"i'm going to start with that and if i probe the two leads there should be 3.3 voltage that 3.3","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":654.72,"end_s":661.6,"text":"volts yeah yeah well that's a logic voltage now if they're sending it through a voltage divider","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":661.6,"end_s":666.4,"text":"one of these are going to connect to a pin on the controller and we're just gonna find the pin","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":667.04,"end_s":673.12,"text":"oh good so if it's if it is a thermistor then they'll they'll voltage divide it so they'll have","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":673.12,"end_s":677.2,"text":"the thermistor on one leg and then they'll have just a regular like a 10k over there and they'll","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":677.2,"end_s":682.24,"text":"read the voltage from between them yes right and then when the voltage reaches a certain level they","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":682.24,"end_s":688.56,"text":"turn on and when it goes to a different level they turn off yes makes sense oh yeah that's if","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":688.56,"end_s":695.36,"text":"that's how it works so now we go to BP mode and we try and find out where everything goes probably","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":695.36,"end_s":701.44,"text":"from when it's off oh that's it that's anticlimactic oh oh oh yes","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":704.4,"end_s":712.72,"text":"hey i get excited when i do this stuff okay well how the freak does that make sense that's a capacitor i kind of really want to try just","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":712.72,"end_s":717.52,"text":"putting a resistor across the potentiometer thing and seeing what happens it might need both like","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":717.52,"end_s":723.28,"text":"both like like the comparison between these two it might need temp sensors and okay all right","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":723.28,"end_s":727.84,"text":"we're adding power so you just want to basically short yeah i kind of just want to short the","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":727.84,"end_s":734.16,"text":"potentiometer thing what's surprising me is the fan's not even turning on yeah it's kind of weird","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":734.16,"end_s":738.4,"text":"well i would the fan turn on if the compressor because it's literally like why it's straight","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":738.4,"end_s":742.64,"text":"into the power it comes off of this doesn't it well yeah but there's no power running to that","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":742.64,"end_s":749.36,"text":"here's your power leads yeah yeah the power leads are right here this is it's different yeah oh okay","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":749.36,"end_s":753.2,"text":"more than yeah we can short the potentiometer why do we need a controller at all why can't we just","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":753.2,"end_s":758.56,"text":"well because if you don't then it just ices up me i mean not if we have a thermal load on it","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":758.56,"end_s":764.32,"text":"i don't really want to start shorting stuff that i have no idea what it does okay so this is calm","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":764.32,"end_s":767.92,"text":"yes that will probably go to a temperature controller uh-huh so wouldn't the temperature","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":767.92,"end_s":774.24,"text":"controller be the thing that sends back and work now signal yes so then if we short it depends on","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":774.24,"end_s":781.52,"text":"that it's probably fine it depends if it's a short now signal as in on off or it's a communication","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":781.52,"end_s":786.64,"text":"a serial communication protocol i just want to know if any of them are doing anything 24 volts","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":787.6,"end_s":793.44,"text":"okay so we don't want to short those two so that's a power pin yep and then everything else is","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":793.44,"end_s":800.16,"text":"either ground or data of some sort yep okay so now how do we figure out which one of them is ground","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":800.16,"end_s":805.68,"text":"go um well first for most i was going to try and check what this potentiometer does 3.3 volts","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":805.68,"end_s":810.72,"text":"which is your logic voltage again try and find what ground is you can stick it into short mode","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":811.12,"end_s":817.6,"text":"and you find a known ground location i'm just screw uh not necessarily that these screws aren't","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":817.6,"end_s":823.04,"text":"necessarily connected i lie they are connected i mean not a good design they would be connected","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":823.04,"end_s":827.92,"text":"i i don't assume good designs you see they're not connected to the the the the ground of the whole","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":827.92,"end_s":833.28,"text":"system at least well i don't think you're touching it but okay that was terrible no it's fine everything","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":833.28,"end_s":837.44,"text":"well yeah it's fine now but it could have been terrible oh it's fine now it's fine i've done worse","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":838.32,"end_s":845.12,"text":"i've done worse so they're connected to each other because they're connected through this aluminum block but they're not connected to the ground of the system okay uh you never touch the","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":845.12,"end_s":850.56,"text":"ground okay um what do you mean i've got ground you got ground yep i did touch the ground mate","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":851.28,"end_s":855.52,"text":"like i'm a hundred percent sure i touched the ground anyways if you touch the ground i need it","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":856.24,"end_s":860.32,"text":"i still need the ground okay to find the ground of the pin yep i'm touching it we're touching ground","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":860.32,"end_s":865.2,"text":"it's like touching grass but like so in a drought you have a power pin and you have a ground pin","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":865.36,"end_s":870.56,"text":"and then you have two other pins which could be any communication protocol so we could short them","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":871.36,"end_s":879.44,"text":"no why not it's not going to do anything like it's it's probably like urt or i2c okay or something","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":879.44,"end_s":884.48,"text":"like that probably urt because it probably needs the power and the so should we get in touch with","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":884.48,"end_s":892.24,"text":"fs thermal i'll give them a call call fs thermal oh wow the second result wait CPU cooler pc water","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":892.24,"end_s":898.64,"text":"wait this is actually for cooling a CPU yeah shut up i thought we were just memeing on this no","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":899.44,"end_s":904.8,"text":"guess this is no way this is ground well they just have the exact same unit a hundred times","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":904.8,"end_s":908.96,"text":"for different reasons i can i can almost guarantee that if we do something like this","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":909.84,"end_s":914.16,"text":"and we find the correct combination of resistors to turn it on what do you mean they've actually","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":914.16,"end_s":918.48,"text":"been getting in touch with us well why are we guessing damn it you guys well because we thought","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":918.48,"end_s":928.4,"text":"that it would just turn on when we gave it power hi um any english yes it's okay wow amazing um","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":929.04,"end_s":936.64,"text":"we bought uh one of your chiller module units on aliexpress and we couldn't find any schematics","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":936.64,"end_s":943.76,"text":"for the controller board is it possible for us to get um a diagram of what all of the pinouts are","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":943.76,"end_s":952.48,"text":"on the on the controller board yeah i have we chat this guy let me get a bunch of resistors","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":953.28,"end_s":961.28,"text":"oh my goodness hey get some a plus a plus telephone support right there wait are you","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":961.28,"end_s":965.92,"text":"still trying to get it to turn on we have support right now okay well like i said race is seeking","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":965.92,"end_s":969.68,"text":"it to turn on the quickest you try your method i'll try my method whoever gets it working first","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":969.68,"end_s":973.84,"text":"what if you break it then it wasn't working the first place","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":976.96,"end_s":978.16,"text":"what's the worst that can happen","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":982.64,"end_s":991.04,"text":"i didn't think will okay yeah until that happens i'm gonna try my method","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":999.04,"end_s":1003.36,"text":"do you know how you need to constantly keep busy you think i'm in any different","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":1005.6,"end_s":1012.88,"text":"how the f*** do you work oh no there's probably resistors that do oh mother oh i hate this thing","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":1012.88,"end_s":1018.72,"text":"already nothing's my fault what are you so excited about i found the pin that something connects to","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":1018.72,"end_s":1027.44,"text":"what i'm trying to okay this is my degree i spend multiple hours looking at boards trying to deconstruct","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":1027.52,"end_s":1033.36,"text":"what they are by probing stuff right it's like what i'm doing is i'm visually building a the","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":1048.64,"end_s":1052.96,"text":"schematic was available it does kind of seem like you're doing it for fun at this point yes thank you","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":1052.96,"end_s":1057.2,"text":"thank you thomas you see how organized our resistors are in crater warehouse look at this","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":1057.2,"end_s":1062.48,"text":"see look at this you see when i'm looking for 10k you see it says 10k right over there so now i know","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":1062.48,"end_s":1070.32,"text":"there's 10k there i'll accept it's not there we're like we're gonna cut that part out the back bones","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":1070.32,"end_s":1075.92,"text":"connect to the front bone okay you see that bone is connected to this bone oh i could have just","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":1075.92,"end_s":1082.72,"text":"followed the traces so that is connected to a transistor why are you connected to a transistor","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":1083.76,"end_s":1095.52,"text":"oh it's a logic level is there some chance that we will need an additional board we do not okay","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":1109.44,"end_s":1112.64,"text":"hey plus side even if he doesn't answer we can all listen to this support","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":1134.88,"end_s":1140.24,"text":"sounds like a man who's losing a race like why do we always start like these things and then we","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":1140.24,"end_s":1145.04,"text":"have a plan we start so well and then it just avoids into from chaos this is even when this video","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":1145.04,"end_s":1149.04,"text":"was supposed to be chaotic though yeah i don't even think we started with a plan so i don't know","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":1149.04,"end_s":1153.04,"text":"what you're talking about the plan was power it on and be like wow it's cold and then that didn't","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":1153.04,"end_s":1162.4,"text":"happen this is one shot do not miss spaghetti this is the potentiometer that i found connecting","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":1162.4,"end_s":1169.36,"text":"it to the potentiometer port and just spinning it didn't do anything man why did i let him off the","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":1169.36,"end_s":1174.24,"text":"phone once you're on the phone with support don't let support off the phone until you've been plan","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":1182.88,"end_s":1187.68,"text":"i'm gonna get andy to contact support from a different phone number i think i might know how","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":1187.68,"end_s":1194.88,"text":"to turn this on then why aren't you doing it because if i'm wrong what i did was excuse my chicken","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":1194.88,"end_s":1202.16,"text":"scratch but using using probes and my knowledge i went from this lead over here which i'm thinking","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":1202.16,"end_s":1207.84,"text":"is a control lead that goes to the controller and worked my way back to the microcontroller","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":1207.84,"end_s":1215.12,"text":"okay so this is the lead and it goes into a resistor that is over here next to this big","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":1215.12,"end_s":1221.6,"text":"chunky capacitor then it goes into this three pin device which i'm assuming is either a MOSFET or a","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":1223.04,"end_s":1230.32,"text":"transistor and they both have very similar layouts so i was able to find a very equivalent","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":1230.88,"end_s":1237.04,"text":"like part of the internet downloaded the datasheet figured out where the base collector","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":1237.04,"end_s":1242.64,"text":"meter are and was able to draw the circuit that's the transistor which is that little tiny black","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":1242.64,"end_s":1249.12,"text":"thing over there and then that resistor is this resistor over there and then there goes a trace","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":1249.12,"end_s":1258.32,"text":"down to the lead and then there is another resistor somewhere over here that then goes to the microcontroller","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":1258.32,"end_s":1268.0,"text":"so what i'm thinking is if we put voltage like 24 volts on the lead okay it will turn this transistor","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":1268.0,"end_s":1275.92,"text":"on which will ground wait hold on tell you what um i'm gonna run but i'm gonna keep my mic pack","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":1275.92,"end_s":1283.2,"text":"and what's gonna happen is when kevin calls me i will film myself we'll have good audio and then","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":1283.2,"end_s":1288.4,"text":"i will get you guys the diagram that you need okay and then if i turn it on before lunch","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":1289.12,"end_s":1293.12,"text":"because we're even right now all right fine yeah we each owe each other lunch so nobody has","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":1293.12,"end_s":1298.08,"text":"had any lunch in fact i don't think we've ever gone for lunch to go so i won two because i predicted","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":1298.08,"end_s":1306.16,"text":"two sales oh then you won a power supply guessing one from the six graphics cards and then you won","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":1306.16,"end_s":1312.88,"text":"stubby sales which i don't really know if i have to win yeah win it's an l i was right about","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":1312.88,"end_s":1321.04,"text":"and if you break it you extra lose uh whoops if you break no it's fine what do you mean it's fine","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":1321.04,"end_s":1326.08,"text":"it's fine so what what i think i've done is reverse engineered the control circuit or what","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":1326.08,"end_s":1330.8,"text":"i think is the control circuit i'm going to try and turn it on with a lower voltage just in case","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":1330.8,"end_s":1337.76,"text":"i do send it to nonia i if i put 24 volts it's much more likely to go to nonia than 3.3 so i'm","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":1337.76,"end_s":1344.24,"text":"trying to find the three volt the 3.3 volt rail and then we're gonna try from there okay that is","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":1344.24,"end_s":1354.32,"text":"3.3 okay this is spooky uh i i mostly know what i'm doing that didn't work darn","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0}],"full_text":"Brown for positive with red tape before we do that can we get like a hot glue gun and just like shmoo up those leaves oh I assume there was a shroud or so I ain't no shower brother oh yeah well like well like the electrical tape or something yeah just something so that like okay your fingers there you don't like we understand why yeah well I mean it says the person to put the black on the neutral well that's a oh just like wrap it around the whole thing it's just electrical tape I wonder if I can do something like this here let me just let me just do a thing real quick what are you doing I am going like this so that that won't come off what the problem is not even it coming off it's someone touching it well yeah how are they gonna touch it through the electrical tape okay there how are you gonna touch it now smart guy yeah exactly that's my point I mean it's way better than what you did the one safe place that you can touch you've covered with electrical tape yeah but I it's also it's like it's in the way of touching the unsafe place see look there happy now surely we know a bit more about this than what was on the LA Express page a tiny bit tap tap tap tap on our forum originally showed us one of these and we were just like okay let's buy it that was pretty much the entire research that's not more Kyle tell me about the controller boards I looked at this about 20 minutes before we started shooting and we know what some of the connectors do temperature yes for what good question oh god we had to outdoor and exhaust well we had to translate that from something in Chinese by outdoor they're doing run this out doors there's outdoor we're assuming it means ambient I guess and the red one is exhaust of what yeah yeah we don't know okay this is a tensiometer assuming for fan control but our fan is actually wired directly into 24 volts so it's going to be running at 100% no matter what we do so we can probably ignore that one this is communication to what about what I'm assuming to a temperature controller that it communicates over you are or some sort of two-line protocol I figured something out okay you got your compressor here okay you got your condenser right here yep just like you would for an air conditioning unit but then instead of an evaporator which for your air conditioner would be another one of these that blows the cold air into your room you've got a heat exchanger so we take the refrigerant that goes through one side of the heat exchanger and then we have these two barb fittings that will take that chilled water and run it to something well you gave away the keep away the whole fun I mean I guess that was in the intro anyway so we're gonna cool a computer with it we're gonna cool anything else with it I don't know like a brassiere who knows what the fix of Brazil what I don't know are you well do we want to try and actually turn it on first I mean I would think so yeah okay so we're finished with the power supply I know we got to run the DC lines yes wait how can we run this off these wimpy little whatever if it has 600 watts of cooling capacity there's no way I mean here are thick these cables up yeah exactly those are a lot thicker than these where'd you guys get these wimpy cables the wire drawer we don't have larger stuff right oh my god it's fine it's fine wait can't we just sacrifice another power cable it's fine no it's fine it's fine it'll be fine it just gets hot and then it's fine we have a fleer we can just look at them and be like oh those might catch on fire yeah if they get too hot we'll just stop but it's gonna be fine yeah it was fine it just gets warm that's the definition of not fine when it comes to electrical wire how warm it gets before it catches fire you just gotta be under that also the ignition temperature is really high yeah well like you don't want to melt the sheet and forget about ignition if it melts and then shorts that's the problem oh my god the fact that I'm the responsible adult here what are you talking about this is your flippant duct tape solution yeah and you can't touch the thing did you put that on the minus side yes I know how that thing works I have no trust apparently before we hook it up we yeah yeah yeah yeah it's hooked up no we need to plug it in and make sure it's actually on these connectors there you go it's spaded she checks to make sure I plug into the right no he did I saw him what I actually hold on what I'm doing is you have to make sure it's actually outputting 24 volts because there's a trim pot here that if you do it wrong so now we get to plug in power to see if you plugged it in correctly it doesn't matter you can leave one of them and you just can't all right all right in all seriousness before we connect this to our compressor which for all we know it could be very sensitive about its input voltage I don't know anything about DC compressors we need to verify that our power supply is actually outputting 24 volts now this is a mean well power supply and they don't just mean well they actually do well seriously it's a good power supply brand it has a potentiometer on it that can adjust the output voltage so by doing a quick checky check here 24.18 volts perfect sounds good to me why oh my god it's not going to matter what do you how much is 24.18 it's fine oh but why is it not 24 we haven't been married long enough to squabble like this I think we squabble like this ever since our interview mate I mean in fairness to you the assignment we gave you for the interview was very stupid yeah that was Nick and Alex no that was my idea was it your idea yeah the water cooled mouse oh it was your idea yeah that was dumb we asked our engineers in their interviews to just brainstorm have a brainstorm session to theorize a product that you know is stupid but we used to do that is a challenge you know oh you don't do we now do trial days we just hide them for a day and give them real thank you for cutting all of us out of there whatever it's interesting it is interesting it'll be in the Floatplane exclusive yeah hey Floatplane hi so I can just go for it now we should probably fill this first and get the pump going oh yeah because you want the evaporator to actually evaporate instead of not just pumping like we're for drink back around you've got water already wow you were totally doing stuff while we were arguing wow where's the return oh just straight into the ride yeah where's the pump just below it the pump is in here it cools nothing perpetual motion cooling machine it cools itself whoa okay hold on hold on hold on hold on can we just show the people what power supply we're using what happened to this guy it's from the shipping damage computer oh yes I fixed it with a hammer I put a new what brand is this I don't know never heard of this FSP FSP is great full of water and I think we're good to go one less janky thing about our setup is that instead of just jamming a paperclip into the end of our 24 pin connector we've got this little jumper block from C-Sonic that we'll turn on our power supply by jump ring the green and the black wires okay hold on hold on I got this that's so much safer than putting a paperclip there what yeah it is DC well yes it's more professional oh wait wait wait wait oh oh oh this video has good luck editor vibes to it right now no it's it's gonna be absolutely fantastic time for the moment of truth our water's at 23 degrees and if this has the kind of cooling capacity that it advertises that number should go down pretty darn quickly I mean the fan's not spinning yeah this did not that's a problem no it's fine it's fine everything's fine I mean there's no d there's no ac here is it a dc compressor no it's a it's a it's a it's a three phase it's a bl dc wait it takes dc in and then it has an inverter to go back to ac well why would we go ac to dc then dc to ac that doesn't seem very efficient uh no you would just go ac in and then convert to dc for your stupid fan and your ic's no no no no no no no no no no no your car takes a dc voltage from your battery and inverts why doesn't your car just run off ac well because it runs off of gasoline no you drive an electric car you know bro yeah because they don't make ac batteries no hey these motors are designed to take a dc input you invert it and you put into three phases and it goes the only reason why you have this is because if you don't have this you have to put this on that so you're saying that this is it's not the same it's not the same ac thing you can't just say oh that's it it uses a when you say ac do you mean air conditioning or alternating current you do this on purpose now and it doesn't you guys are bickering a lot but uh nothing's happened with this besides this chip should i just start like shorting pins no no please okay i'm gonna short these two pins why is there one red led on i think the red led means it has power everything is fine no it means it has power led zero nice useful because if something if something's going to go boom it's going to go boom now so what i'm doing is i'm doing a very janky method i'm going to try and like use a 9k resistor to short the temperature probes to see if it'll turn on okay that was pretty anticlimactic why does the resistor work instead of just like jumping with metal these are potentially connectors for thermistors i'm assuming it's thermistors so it's like a temperature sensitive resistor oh like just like a k probe or something this is a thermocouple yeah it's got twisted twisted pairs of metal right and then they use the um the junction voltage to the ones where like the the the hotter they get the more resistance they are the more or less resistance they do yeah yeah yeah so when that happens yeah it would turn on so usually if you're to use a thermistor it's average to 10k so 10k at room temperature got it so what i'm trying to do is make it a lower resistance to hopefully try and turn it on considering i have no friggin clue how this thing works so pretty much what i volunteered to do just start shorting things yep you're not shorting it this is not a short a short isn't it physically very short okay well that was anticlimactic okay so we really actually have no idea i assumed when they called me to set they did actually know what was so i just messing with no we have no idea well hold on hold on like i'm gonna go to the park we wanted to do this on camera to get you think that we didn't google the part number line i mean anything's possible at this point do you know how much information there is what i'm trying to do is figure out how the control system works these are color coded so i'm going to start with that and if i probe the two leads there should be 3.3 voltage that 3.3 volts yeah yeah well that's a logic voltage now if they're sending it through a voltage divider one of these are going to connect to a pin on the controller and we're just gonna find the pin oh good so if it's if it is a thermistor then they'll they'll voltage divide it so they'll have the thermistor on one leg and then they'll have just a regular like a 10k over there and they'll read the voltage from between them yes right and then when the voltage reaches a certain level they turn on and when it goes to a different level they turn off yes makes sense oh yeah that's if that's how it works so now we go to BP mode and we try and find out where everything goes probably from when it's off oh that's it that's anticlimactic oh oh oh yes hey i get excited when i do this stuff okay well how the freak does that make sense that's a capacitor i kind of really want to try just putting a resistor across the potentiometer thing and seeing what happens it might need both like both like like the comparison between these two it might need temp sensors and okay all right we're adding power so you just want to basically short yeah i kind of just want to short the potentiometer thing what's surprising me is the fan's not even turning on yeah it's kind of weird well i would the fan turn on if the compressor because it's literally like why it's straight into the power it comes off of this doesn't it well yeah but there's no power running to that here's your power leads yeah yeah the power leads are right here this is it's different yeah oh okay more than yeah we can short the potentiometer why do we need a controller at all why can't we just well because if you don't then it just ices up me i mean not if we have a thermal load on it i don't really want to start shorting stuff that i have no idea what it does okay so this is calm yes that will probably go to a temperature controller uh-huh so wouldn't the temperature controller be the thing that sends back and work now signal yes so then if we short it depends on that it's probably fine it depends if it's a short now signal as in on off or it's a communication a serial communication protocol i just want to know if any of them are doing anything 24 volts okay so we don't want to short those two so that's a power pin yep and then everything else is either ground or data of some sort yep okay so now how do we figure out which one of them is ground go um well first for most i was going to try and check what this potentiometer does 3.3 volts which is your logic voltage again try and find what ground is you can stick it into short mode and you find a known ground location i'm just screw uh not necessarily that these screws aren't necessarily connected i lie they are connected i mean not a good design they would be connected i i don't assume good designs you see they're not connected to the the the the ground of the whole system at least well i don't think you're touching it but okay that was terrible no it's fine everything well yeah it's fine now but it could have been terrible oh it's fine now it's fine i've done worse i've done worse so they're connected to each other because they're connected through this aluminum block but they're not connected to the ground of the system okay uh you never touch the ground okay um what do you mean i've got ground you got ground yep i did touch the ground mate like i'm a hundred percent sure i touched the ground anyways if you touch the ground i need it i still need the ground okay to find the ground of the pin yep i'm touching it we're touching ground it's like touching grass but like so in a drought you have a power pin and you have a ground pin and then you have two other pins which could be any communication protocol so we could short them no why not it's not going to do anything like it's it's probably like urt or i2c okay or something like that probably urt because it probably needs the power and the so should we get in touch with fs thermal i'll give them a call call fs thermal oh wow the second result wait CPU cooler pc water wait this is actually for cooling a CPU yeah shut up i thought we were just memeing on this no guess this is no way this is ground well they just have the exact same unit a hundred times for different reasons i can i can almost guarantee that if we do something like this and we find the correct combination of resistors to turn it on what do you mean they've actually been getting in touch with us well why are we guessing damn it you guys well because we thought that it would just turn on when we gave it power hi um any english yes it's okay wow amazing um we bought uh one of your chiller module units on aliexpress and we couldn't find any schematics for the controller board is it possible for us to get um a diagram of what all of the pinouts are on the on the controller board yeah i have we chat this guy let me get a bunch of resistors oh my goodness hey get some a plus a plus telephone support right there wait are you still trying to get it to turn on we have support right now okay well like i said race is seeking it to turn on the quickest you try your method i'll try my method whoever gets it working first what if you break it then it wasn't working the first place what's the worst that can happen i didn't think it did anything it just it's like who has faith in who he's just gonna send us a thing what thing is he are you talking to me i will okay yeah until that happens i'm gonna try my method do you know how you need to constantly keep busy you think i'm in any different how the f*** do you work oh no there's probably resistors that do oh mother oh i hate this thing already nothing's my fault what are you so excited about i found the pin that something connects to what i'm trying to okay this is my degree i spend multiple hours looking at boards trying to deconstruct what they are by probing stuff right it's like what i'm doing is i'm visually building a schematic of where these pins go so that i might be able to deduce what i need to do to get them to work what if we visually create a schematic by just downloading the schematic from the manufacturer because they don't have one you think i would have you think i would be doing this if the schematic was available it does kind of seem like you're doing it for fun at this point yes thank you thank you thomas you see how organized our resistors are in crater warehouse look at this see look at this you see when i'm looking for 10k you see it says 10k right over there so now i know there's 10k there i'll accept it's not there we're like we're gonna cut that part out the back bones connect to the front bone okay you see that bone is connected to this bone oh i could have just followed the traces so that is connected to a transistor why are you connected to a transistor oh it's a logic level is there some chance that we will need an additional board we do not have to power this thing there is a non-zero chance that's possible i see i think it's pretty low though okay do i call the guy again i don't want to be like that but oh okay hey plus side even if he doesn't answer we can all listen to this song oh come on that's the sound of a man who's losing a race lightly by less than before all right well i just got noped so much for the amazing phone support sounds like a man who's losing a race like why do we always start like these things and then we have a plan we start so well and then it just avoids into from chaos this is even when this video was supposed to be chaotic though yeah i don't even think we started with a plan so i don't know what you're talking about the plan was power it on and be like wow it's cold and then that didn't happen this is one shot do not miss spaghetti this is the potentiometer that i found connecting it to the potentiometer port and just spinning it didn't do anything man why did i let him off the phone once you're on the phone with support don't let support off the phone until you've been support whoa that's not well i just all i want is a schematic i let's not man he has it new plan i'm gonna get andy to contact support from a different phone number i think i might know how to turn this on then why aren't you doing it because if i'm wrong what i did was excuse my chicken scratch but using using probes and my knowledge i went from this lead over here which i'm thinking is a control lead that goes to the controller and worked my way back to the microcontroller okay so this is the lead and it goes into a resistor that is over here next to this big chunky capacitor then it goes into this three pin device which i'm assuming is either a MOSFET or a transistor and they both have very similar layouts so i was able to find a very equivalent like part of the internet downloaded the datasheet figured out where the base collector meter are and was able to draw the circuit that's the transistor which is that little tiny black thing over there and then that resistor is this resistor over there and then there goes a trace down to the lead and then there is another resistor somewhere over here that then goes to the microcontroller so what i'm thinking is if we put voltage like 24 volts on the lead okay it will turn this transistor on which will ground wait hold on tell you what um i'm gonna run but i'm gonna keep my mic pack and what's gonna happen is when kevin calls me i will film myself we'll have good audio and then i will get you guys the diagram that you need okay and then if i turn it on before lunch because we're even right now all right fine yeah we each owe each other lunch so nobody has had any lunch in fact i don't think we've ever gone for lunch to go so i won two because i predicted two sales oh then you won a power supply guessing one from the six graphics cards and then you won stubby sales which i don't really know if i have to win yeah win it's an l i was right about and if you break it you extra lose uh whoops if you break no it's fine what do you mean it's fine it's fine so what what i think i've done is reverse engineered the control circuit or what i think is the control circuit i'm going to try and turn it on with a lower voltage just in case i do send it to nonia i if i put 24 volts it's much more likely to go to nonia than 3.3 so i'm trying to find the three volt the 3.3 volt rail and then we're gonna try from there okay that is 3.3 okay this is spooky uh i i mostly know what i'm doing that didn't work darn"}
