How's yours? Not bad, not bad. It's good to hear. So, we finally get to do a Meet the Team on the guy that does the Meet the Teams. Yeah, I guess so. I mean, you've done a couple Meet the Teams, too. That's just been all of me, but... Yeah, no, it's good to have, I guess, one of us on the other side of the camera. So, I guess, for those who don't know, give us a quick introduction of who you are and what you do at LMG. Hi, I'm Arthur. Some of you guys might know me as Artie. I think that's what most people around the office call me nowadays. I'm the social media manager. So, I'm in charge of the social media team. We do things like posts, memes, tiktoks, reels, YouTube shorts. They're all kind of the same, I guess. And we're in charge of flow playing exclusives. So, basically anything you guys have watched, done by us, or at least has run through us, something like that. Awesome. Now, tell us a little bit about how you got to LMG. What made you join? How I got to LMG. That's a good question. So, I've been watching LMG for a little bit now. I think I was most in tune around, like, 2015, 2016, 2017. That's when I was, like, really, really into tech. I started really getting into PC building. I built my second PC, and I really felt like the first one, I didn't know what I was doing, but the second one, I tried to do my research. LTT was obviously one of the places I want to kind of try and figure that out. Always thought it'd be a really cool place to work, and I knew that they were very close to where I lived. I remember way back in the day, funnily enough, we have our Christmas party today, but way back in the day, watching that one Christmas party that we made an LTT video on that Linus was giving everybody razor blades. I thought that was the coolest thing ever. So, I thought it would be a really cool idea to work here. It just so happens to match up with what I've kind of done throughout my life, essentially. I've been creating content since I was a kid. I've been on YouTube since, like, what, 2006, 2007, since I was, like, eight years old. So, I've been really, really in tune with everything that's been going on. And I just wanted to kind of, like, take my skills to the next level. Obviously, I've been doing stuff for myself. I've been able to get a little bit of a following on my own. Nothing on the same level that I'm able to reach here, which has been an amazing experience so far. Awesome. So, I know when I first joined here, you were still a social media coordinator, just like me. How does it feel different to finally be, I guess, the manager instead of the coordinator? Like, I've seen you grow into the role, but what was the biggest change for you during that transition? Oh, my gosh. Yeah, I mean, it was a big transition, in my opinion. You know, I had a lot to learn. You know, I had done, like, leadership positions in the past. Just really small ones with, like, my university and stuff. But, yeah, actually, you know, being in charge of other people, it's a lot. Like, you're worried about so many other things. As a social media coordinator, you're kind of just worried about, you know, are my posts good? You know, are people interacting with them? You know, am I proud of what I'm putting out? But as a manager, you're also trying to figure out, you know, is your team good? Do they feel all right? And just making sure that's all good? Also, helping them kind of develop their skills with, you know, whatever experience I've learned throughout the years. There's a lot of new things that you have to do as a manager that I could not even imagine doing when I was a coordinator. So, easing into that and learning those things on the way, it's been a big challenge, but, you know, so far, I feel like it's been really fruitful. And I've been able to learn a lot of stuff, especially from the other managers and leaders here. Absolutely. And hey, now we have a team of four people, you're putting yourself. That's correct, yes. As someone who works in social media, you're probably expected to be on top of all the trends and be on top of everything now, I guess, what we call Gen Z as well. How do you deal with this? Does it come naturally to you? Is it a lot of effort? I'm sure a lot of the audience wonders how we come up with our stuff. Yeah. So, it requires being essentially online all the time. It's a blessing and a curse, you know, I'm always in tune with what's going on in the tech space, you know, even outside the tech space, just like in general, what's going on. But it's a curse in the sense that, you know, being online all the time can't be healthy for your mental with as much good that there is on the internet. There's a lot of bad. There's a lot, a lot of bad. So, you kind of have to see all of this and, you know, you do your best to kind of filter out the bad stuff and just, you know, focus on the positives that are happening in the world. You know, it doesn't get difficult, but that being said, I really do enjoy it. I mean, you know, as a kid, I've always been online. This is kind of where I've thrived and kind of where I've learned and I've almost grown up funnily enough. So, it's fun and I don't know. I just feel like it's natural. Like I've always been in tune with what's going on online. And, you know, I'm getting older. I'm willing to admit it. Like I'm 25 now. So, I'm not like, I'm just on the edge of Gen Z. You know, I feel like for a lot of other parts of my life, I'm a little bit more millennial. But, you know, I try and try and do my best. Try and keep up with what's going on. You know, follow other pages and follow other creators are younger than me and see, you know, what they're up to and kind of learn and figure out why they're interacting in that way. That's kind of how I do it. Okay, so let's step away from LMG for a second and go into some things you've dabbled in in the past. So, in the last year and a half, I've gotten to know you a little bit. And I know you do some other things like you make music. Yeah, that's true. Yeah, you make music. You make YouTube videos on your own channel. You also run a cooking TikTok. Is there anything else? Because I feel like to me, that's like a lot. Yeah, so, I mean, okay, look, it sounds like a lot and it is a lot, right? But that being said, I don't really focus on all of them at once. I'll have a couple of months where I'm really focused on making music, for example. I'll have a couple of months where I'm really focused on making TikToks, you know, cooking and food related. And I'll have a couple of months where I'm working on a YouTube channel. So, you know, I feel like my attention is kind of split in that sense. I'm always thinking about these things, but I don't really like fully, you know, put myself into all of these things at once. It's just whenever the inspiration or the motivation comes that I kind of go out and do that. What would you say is your absolute favorite, I guess, side hustle? Oh gosh, my absolute favorite. That's very tough because I mean, I love content creation and I've done it my whole life, like I've mentioned again. So, I'd like to say that, but now that it's basically my whole life, you know, I'm doing it here, I'm doing it on the side, doing my own thing. I'm not going to lie, I do get burnt out sometimes. So, I would say right now, the thing that I'm really, really passionate about is actually music. I feel like it's just a way to decompress and, you know, get my mind thinking creatively and something that's completely different from content. You don't have to worry about the algorithm. You don't have to worry about engagement or analytics or anything like that. You're kind of just worried on making something that resonates with you and hopefully other people can resonate with. Also, when did you first start making music? How did you get into that? So, I started getting into music when I was like 11 or 12. I downloaded a program called MixCraft. I'm not sure if any of you guys have used that in the past. It's very similar to like GarageBand and I just played around with it and I thought it'd be really cool. And around that time, I also started getting into electronic music. So, Dubstep was kind of like my first love, you know, Skrillex, Mount Eden. People like that who were popular during that time just kind of inspired me. I was like, maybe I can try and do that. So, you know, I started dabbling in more production, downloaded FL Studio as well, totally legal. And yeah, I don't know. I just learned how to do stuff over time. I started getting more into EDM. So, I started, you know, branching out into genres like house and stuff. You know, started following way more DJs, way more producers around like the golden era of EDM. Some would call it like 2012, 2013, 2014, around that time. And then I kind of eased off of it. I never really, you know, did anything that got too many listeners or anything at that time. I was just a kid playing around with stuff. But I started to take it a little bit more seriously when I went into university. Met a lot of great people who I connected with, I learned with and I collaborated with and started making music that actually started getting some listens, which is crazy to me because I listen to some of my music sometimes. I'm like, I could do this way better. There's way better music out there. Like, I don't know why people are listening to me. But yeah, that's kind of how I got my start in music. Okay, let's talk about your YouTube channel now. Okay. I know you make content about rollercoasters, right? At least I'm trying to. So, I started with a YouTube channel about theme parks. Mainly, you know, I've always had a dream of visiting as many theme parks, museum parks as I possibly could. Rollercoaster Tycoon was a huge influence on my life and a huge influence to, you know, who I am today. You know, it kind of got me into gaming. It even got me into computers because, I mean, as a five, six year old kid, that was the way that I used computers. I would hop on rollercoaster Tycoon and just build rollercoasters and stuff like that. So, it's always been a huge part of my life. So, I've always wanted to visit all of these parks that, you know, I've seen throughout the years when I was a kid and, you know, I couldn't travel anywhere. So, yeah, I'm just making a channel about traveling to different theme parks, riding different rollercoasters and kind of living out my dream. What's your favorite theme park so far? Islands of Adventure is a very, very good theme park. I haven't been in years now, but to me, it's like the perfect blend of theming, perfect blend of thrill rides. You know, you've got, like, really high tier rollercoasters. I haven't ridden it yet, but there's a new rollercoaster called the Velocic coaster based on the Jurassic World series. It's literally one of the best rollercoasters in the world. And they theme it in a way that, you know, makes you feel immersed, at least, you know, what I've seen from videos and stuff like that. Which you don't get from a lot of those high tier rollercoasters where they kind of just plop something down in like an open piece of land and, you know, they build the biggest, baddest rollercoaster, whatever. This one kind of, like, interacts with, like, the paths. It interacts with different rides. And yeah, they just put a ton of detail. I know it was very expensive too, so... Awesome. Where is this for those who don't know? Yeah, this is in Orlando, Florida. Oh, awesome. I'm looking to visit again soon because they're also opening up a new theme park called Epic Universe and I'm really, really excited to visit that. Okay, and lastly, let's talk a little bit about, I guess, cooking. Yeah, I know you're a pretty decent cook. I'm okay. Like, I'm not a chef. I'm not even like, I wouldn't even consider myself like a very, very strong cook. But I can cook some things decently, I guess. The reason why I got into cooking during the pandemic. I mean, I feel like everybody was kind of picking up different hobbies around that time. Cooking just so happened to be the one that I did. I started just documenting it on, like, TikTok and stuff. You know, me basically trying out different dishes and, you know, learning along the way. You know, again, I wouldn't say I'm a good, a really, really strong cook by any means. But yeah, I know I enjoy it. That's pretty cool. I mean, even if you're not making content about cooking, is it still something you get to do often? I mean, I'm not going to lie. It's something that I probably don't spend as much time as I'd like. But recently, I've been spending a little bit more time on it just trying to get back into things. Again, like, going back to me, you know, being full into different things for a couple of months or like, I guess cooking was like, you know, a couple of years or whatever. It kind of faded away and I'm trying to rekindle that passion that I got for that, yeah. What's your favorite cuisine? Favorite cuisine, that's a tough one. Probably Japanese food. I mean, growing and living in here in Vancouver, we have some excellent Japanese food here. A lot of innovation here actually happens. California roll, ever heard of it? Apparently it was made here. I can't verify that with 100% authenticity, but apparently it was. Okay, so now let's pivot back to LMG now. What is the favorite meme you've ever made here at LMG? Oh gosh, there's so many. There's so many. Probably during the hackening, I kind of just went buck wild with the memes during that time. Let loose and, you know, I thought they were pretty funny. My favorite one is probably that RuneScape one where, you know, can we just pop it up on the screen? I don't want to describe it, but yeah, it's like how we lost the channel and somebody doing like one of those classic RuneScape scams. It's just like, if you say your password backwards, it'll censor it. And then Linus says, I don't know, you know. Yeah, that's the Tech Tips 123. Exactly, yeah, that's the one. But I really like that one because a couple of my favorite content creators settled. If you guys are into old school RuneScape or RuneScape in general, you probably know him as a Swatman. He even retweeted and interacted with it. It was really, really cool. Ludwig like showed it off on his mogul mail and, you know, I thought that was like, to me, I was really proud of that meme. And just in that moment seeing, you know, these huge content creators that I look up to, you know, react positively to it. Speaking of which, how does it feel to obviously working at a company like this? You get the opportunity to interact with other big creators online to some degree at least. Yeah. How does that feel? Like is that something you'd ever imagined was possible? Oh gosh, yeah, no, it's surreal to me. Before all this, like, you know, I always viewed like these huge content creators as celebrities. And then rightfully so, a lot of them are, right? Even Linus in the next room over right now. But then you start to get to know and just talk to like big content creators. And you start to realize that, you know, they're just people like us, right? So to me, it's surreal, but also it makes me feel grounded in a sense that, you know, these big content creators, they're just any ordinary person that has a huge following online and loves to create content. So it is, it is cool. It is cool for sure. What is your most memorable Linus moment? It's a good one. I'd probably have to say when I first started and during that time, I got to work with Linus very closely to develop three YouTube shorts a week, which is absolutely insane. But with his help, you got me through it. I got to learn a lot about how kind of he viewed content, how to flow one thing into another and just create something that really like engaged with people. Those YouTube shorts, they started off pretty slow, but over time got a lot of views. And I started to realize, wow, like learning from this guy is new. Learning from this guy is nothing I would ever think I would be able to do. And that grind, just getting through all these YouTube shorts, it was pretty memorable for me. I don't know. I guess on that note, when it comes to Linus, what surprised you the most about him? Oh gosh, this guy's so busy. How does he get anything done? I don't know. Like, it's actually wild. Like, I know he spoke about it on the WAN Show recently, but the guy gets like, what, like three hours of sleep at night or something like that. Yeah. You know, he's always on. If you show up in his office, he'll always respond to you. He'll always make time for you. I just, yeah, I don't know how he does it. It's crazy. I think I could agree with that. Like, no matter who messages him from the company, even though we have like 100 plus employees now. It's getting crazy. It was still, you know, obviously it might be a bit later in the day because he's busy with truths or whatever, but eventually he'll still respond to you and help you out with whatever you're looking for, which is pretty cool. Yeah, absolutely. Okay, cool. I'm going to now semi-rapid fire some questions your way. Okay, let's do it. Let's do it. One thing you wish to learn more about during your time here. How to make some really, really good shorts. I think I've gotten a lot better over the time that I've been here. And you guys can watch some of the early 2022 shorts to now. I feel like we've gone there a little bit, but I still think there's a lot more to learn. And there's a lot of creators I look up to, and I hope to go get to their level. Who's the funniest host at LMG? Oh, gosh, it's got to be Riley. He's just natural at it. Oh, you know what? Adam's low-key really, really good too. This guy, I mean, he does improv, so he's just really, really fast with like the star key remarks or whatever. But Adam and Riley, those guys are really, really funny. I'm most likely to swear during shoots. Jake, for sure. Jake Tyvi. There's been so many times where we've had to edit like Flo Plain Extras or anything like that. And we'd have to bleep like every other word. It's crazy. I can attest to that. I still love him though. What's your favorite work trip you've ever been on and why? Probably the first time I went to VidCon. This was back June 2022. And it was my first time like really being in an environment with just creators everywhere. Watching people like Prank vs. Prank go to VidCon and stuff like that, Roman Atwood, guys like that. And just, you know, as a kid, being like, I want to be there. I want to be there so bad. It looks so fun. And getting the opportunity to actually go there. It was a lot of fun, but I think the main thing is I learned a ton. What is your proudest moment at LMG? I feel like my proudest moment, and I say this because it's probably the most difficult thing for me to kind of learn and get to the point is probably just, you know, having a team that it seems like everybody, you know, we're all chill with each other. We're all friends type of thing. And, you know, we put in some really hard work, good work. And there's like a nice balance there. You know, that's what I'm most proud of. I hope that Argent behind the camera, you know, you've had a great time on this team and stuff like that. Absolutely. Hopefully you've learned a lot and you're able to, you know, take that on, you know, with whatever you do, like within this space. And likewise with other guys on our team, I know you guys don't see them often. Steven Chu, he's our community coordinator. He's usually the person that's responding to you on Twitter, Reddit. He's LMG community, if you guys ever see that around. And also Sammy, Sammy Yu, who's the newest addition to our team. He used to be an editor here, but he switched over to the social media team and he's been doing some really, really good work. Some of the more recent flow playing exclusives, a lot of those ideas and a lot of the camera work and editing is all him. And that's why you've seen like a nice increase in quality more recently. So, yeah, I mean, this team is probably what I'm most proud of. I've been here for a year and a half now and I think like for a year of that, you're our manager. But honestly, even before you had the title of manager and it was just you and me, you pretty much led everything. You taught me everything. You brought me up to scratch. And he's been a great leader and I'm sure our entire team can attest to that. What's the most valuable piece of advice someone's ever given you? It's very simple. I feel like the most valuable piece of advice I've ever gotten is just, you know, don't be too hard on yourself. You know, obviously you want to put in great work and you want to, you know, get results and stuff. I mean, you only have one life. You got to live it. You can't just be solely focused on work or, you know, anything like that. And there's more to life than just, you know, views or engagement or anything like that. And something that I try to carry on even today, but obviously it's hard to not focus on all that and stuff. What is your favorite game? I have a couple. I mean, I already mentioned Roller Coaster Tycoon. Goaded series. Literally, I can't believe like you could play it today and still be like, wow, this is like still fresh. It's still good. And I feel like it was a big opportunity for me to be creative as a kid. You know, just building amazing parks and theme parks. Super, super fun game. But also RuneScape. RuneScape was a huge influence on my life. That's where I grew up, you know, in the streets of Lumbridge, streets of Verrock, man. Like, oh my goodness, lots of good memories on that game and probably the game I have the most playtime ever. Oh, damn. Okay. Wow. Crazy. Yeah. I thought you would have mentioned Civ 6 some way there. Okay. Civilization. Amazing series. And more recently, it's probably one of my favorite games. But before talking all the time, I got a shout out Roller Coaster Tycoon in RuneScape. Civ, still awesome. Still awesome. And I could sink so many hours into that game. What do you think is one thing that's very unique about working at LMG? The people here. You know, you hear it a lot and I know other people and our other meet the teams have mentioned it. But the people here are genuinely great. Like, you know, there's nobody that's really very difficult to work with or anything like that. Everybody is generally very friendly. We're all very busy. But, you know, if you need to talk to somebody, they'll give you their time. And yeah, everybody's just fun to be around, like even outside of work hours or stuff. I'm always happy to hang out with people because it's just like, I know I'm going to have a good time. What's something you'd like to see at LMG in the coming years? I mean, since we have a pretty tight production schedule, you know, release videos pretty frequently, I'd like to see some projects where, you know, our writers spend a little bit more time. So instead of just having a week or two to finish a video, maybe they could have a month. Maybe they could have two months. I think we have some really creative people here and they would be able to come up with some really, really fun, exciting ideas. And to wrap things up, what's one piece of advice that you'd give to other creatives or social media people? You definitely got to be passionate about the things that you're doing. You can't just go into content creation, you know, for the sake of money, for the sake of clout, for the sake of views, anything like that. You'll find something that you're genuinely passionate about and go and create content about it. Find what makes you curious about that subject and try and share that curiosity with other people. I think that's really the big thing. And the more I've grown up, I've tried so many other different types of content creation in the past as well. The things that have always stuck with me is always the stuff that I've been truly passionate about. So that's probably it. Awesome. Cool. Thanks, Addy. Yeah, for sure.
