What do you","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":4.48,"end_s":9.92,"text":"guys think of the event? I mean for me it seemed like it was a much longer event than last time","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":9.92,"end_s":14.88,"text":"and a lot more content in it like it was stuffed to the brim like they actually had to cut some","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":14.88,"end_s":19.2,"text":"things it seemed like like some things that were actually kind of interesting like resizing icons","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":19.2,"end_s":25.28,"text":"on iOS rcs support so like the new the rich messaging system that's like kind of universal","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":25.28,"end_s":28.88,"text":"they cut art oh so they are supporting rcs yeah so they just didn't talk about it","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":29.44,"end_s":35.68,"text":"they they mentioned it briefly towards the end with all the yeah yeah yeah with the summary","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":35.68,"end_s":39.6,"text":"but they didn't show it and they also didn't show like resizing icons so you can actually make an","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":39.6,"end_s":43.76,"text":"icon bigger yeah you can make icons bigger you can move them wherever you want you can put them on","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":43.76,"end_s":51.04,"text":"the grid just like I'm like I'm right no I missed a lot wow did you did you come in late no I mean","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":51.04,"end_s":58.08,"text":"no I missed the I did miss the right at the beginning the promo the first part of the promo","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":58.08,"end_s":63.76,"text":"the apple tv plus stuff but you know there's like all the I uh it's hard to write notes and then","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":63.76,"end_s":68.48,"text":"what look at the like little bento box yeah so it's all in a bento box I gotta look at those","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":68.48,"end_s":73.6,"text":"bento box before I write I write I guess yeah I'm glad rcs is there because I literally wrote","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":73.6,"end_s":79.28,"text":"where is rcs yeah tell me I think a bigger thing to mention yeah you would think so but like he","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":79.28,"end_s":86.96,"text":"literally just spent like 10 words saying oh and also you can resize icons and we have rcs support","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":86.96,"end_s":93.36,"text":"see this kind of comes down to a fundamental of the way apple events have been going now","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":93.36,"end_s":99.36,"text":"which is these kind of really fast paced uh don't look away or or blink because you're gonna miss","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":99.36,"end_s":107.68,"text":"something infomercials and I really miss the live shows when they would like be on stage and like","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":107.68,"end_s":112.08,"text":"have to demo things live to show that it actually works they don't have to prove that anything","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":112.16,"end_s":116.16,"text":"works now you know the videos work like when they do like that ipad or at least they did a","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":116.72,"end_s":121.84,"text":"month and a bit ago the videos work for something like that and maybe in between events but for","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":121.84,"end_s":130.32,"text":"something as like fundamental and as important as w w dc I feel like a live stage show uh is what I","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":130.32,"end_s":138.56,"text":"I miss and want back because it also requires a bit of even more focus yeah I mean once upon a time","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":138.56,"end_s":146.16,"text":"like they even famously the original iphone reveal that was hacked up so badly like the the","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":146.16,"end_s":151.2,"text":"iphone just didn't work like half the time it would either freeze up or reboot and it was actually a","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":151.2,"end_s":155.44,"text":"miracle that it yeah worked at all yeah and they had to hack it so that it had full signal strength","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":155.44,"end_s":159.76,"text":"but like now they don't really need to do any of that it's all mocked up yeah so like all the","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":159.76,"end_s":163.68,"text":"theory prompts and all the things that are happening on screen that could be happening","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":164.24,"end_s":169.52,"text":"anywhere it's written in a script literally just be it's a scripted yeah it could literally just be","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":169.52,"end_s":175.04,"text":"something that somebody mocked up in um well I guess final cut oh yeah yeah and so it's like","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":175.04,"end_s":178.48,"text":"because the other big question coming up especially we haven't really introduced the","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":178.48,"end_s":183.6,"text":"ass stuff but the big question is like how does this actually work in the real world and like","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":183.6,"end_s":187.84,"text":"I always am thinking about like where are the where are you going to find the walls of limitations","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":187.84,"end_s":192.72,"text":"that are going to be really frustrating when they come up and I don't know it's it's yeah","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":192.72,"end_s":196.08,"text":"that is a good point especially for something like this I feel like a live demo","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":196.88,"end_s":203.44,"text":"is important yeah yeah and like I understand in some cases like say the vision pro it's really","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":203.44,"end_s":210.4,"text":"difficult to get that across right yeah like the vision pro you can't really film that in a way that","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":210.4,"end_s":219.68,"text":"it makes any sense to see so they have to mock that up but with like an iphone thing not really","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":219.68,"end_s":224.32,"text":"I mean even with the vision pro announcement back back earlier this year I or even last year I thought","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":224.32,"end_s":230.48,"text":"it should have been done uh that should also have been done live because like the iphone thing","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":230.48,"end_s":234.48,"text":"it like they really had to push to make sure everything like to hopefully everything works","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":235.04,"end_s":238.8,"text":"and like really be specific about what they're demoing there's I don't know there's like a","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":238.8,"end_s":245.36,"text":"discipline that comes with it that um I worry we're losing well I mean given the length of it","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":245.36,"end_s":249.36,"text":"it's like an hour and 45 minutes or something like that or an hour and a half but like one of the","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":249.36,"end_s":256.72,"text":"things that I found really lacking was they didn't really talk about hardware at all no no yeah like","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":256.72,"end_s":261.92,"text":"I was kind of expecting yeah like I was kind of expecting them to talk about something like oh","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":261.92,"end_s":266.88,"text":"you'll be able to take advantage of this and more with our upcoming m4 pro or whatever you know we'll","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":266.88,"end_s":271.76,"text":"talk about that in the later presentation or something like that right but instead it's just","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":271.84,"end_s":280.64,"text":"like your ipad your iphone your mac and it's like okay but what if my ipad is on the cusp of being","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":280.64,"end_s":290.8,"text":"obsoleted which it is it's the it's the the final pre uh m1 ipad oh the a812z one yeah is it like","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":290.8,"end_s":297.84,"text":"yeah what is it yeah well let's see well they the one example was I think where they were talking","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":297.84,"end_s":303.28,"text":"about apple intelligence it seems like the on-device processing will work on m1's and newer and then","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":303.28,"end_s":310.0,"text":"it seems like a17 and that's the only a chip that'll support all the on all of that stuff so I'm","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":310.0,"end_s":315.44,"text":"still it's still a little I gotta like look into the pages to see kind of where the limitations lie","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":315.44,"end_s":319.84,"text":"yeah um and then obviously then that they did talk a little bit about hardware which shows","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":319.84,"end_s":323.92,"text":"I'm wondering if you're curious about how they created their own little apple silicon servers","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":323.92,"end_s":330.8,"text":"for the uh what do they call it privacy server website privacy scanning was like private cloud","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":330.8,"end_s":337.36,"text":"compute yes that's the one um I am a little bit interested in how they might have done that but","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":337.36,"end_s":344.64,"text":"I'm not sure that's strictly speaking what they're doing I mean it might be maybe we'll have more","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":344.64,"end_s":353.44,"text":"x serves at some point with like a bunch of m5 chips in them you know 256 yeah you're dreaming","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":353.44,"end_s":358.88,"text":"yeah no apple doesn't care about that anymore but you know it's it's something you can think about","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":359.52,"end_s":364.24,"text":"oh man there's so much to talk about with privacy cloud uh a private cloud it's it's basically","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":364.96,"end_s":373.2,"text":"Windows 11 recall if you think about it yeah I except like so like okay private cloud compute","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":373.2,"end_s":377.04,"text":"not specifically but all the all the ai features they're talking about and I don't want to get too","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":377.04,"end_s":380.96,"text":"into the ai right now because this is going to dominate the conversation but like that's doing","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":380.96,"end_s":385.92,"text":"all the same stuff that Windows 11 recall does except they're not specifically saying they're","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":385.92,"end_s":391.92,"text":"taking screenshots um so like you can say hey uh show me that picture of this person who did that","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":391.92,"end_s":398.64,"text":"last week and it'll do it uh or hey what restaurant did so-and-so uh suggest to me a few days ago and","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":398.88,"end_s":404.56,"text":"it'll do that like the same stuff right but apple probably isn't going to get as much scrutiny","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":404.56,"end_s":409.44,"text":"over it because I guess they have a better track record for privacy I mean some of those things it","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":409.44,"end_s":413.92,"text":"feels like we're kind of already in there but they just were there was like no place to like","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":413.92,"end_s":419.28,"text":"unify it so if you for instance you use the example of like finding a picture of so-and-so","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":419.28,"end_s":423.84,"text":"wearing a shirt like you could already look for pictures of a person because they're already doing","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":424.32,"end_s":430.24,"text":"on device facial recognition and then in the example of like oh find the calendar event that","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":430.24,"end_s":435.28,"text":"somebody or calendar somebody that you know the appointment somebody had made in a text message","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":435.28,"end_s":439.92,"text":"like if you look in messages and someone says hey can we do something at 4 p.m on Thursday like it'll","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":439.92,"end_s":444.96,"text":"underline 4 p.m Thursday kind of ready for you to make an event so like that stuff was like it","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":444.96,"end_s":449.84,"text":"feels like the ground work was already kind of laid for this stuff and then now they're finally like","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":450.4,"end_s":454.0,"text":"creating a system to put it all together I'm just still curious how that's all","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":454.0,"end_s":459.2,"text":"going to work but it was like already there yeah I guess so like a lot of it that's another thing","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":459.2,"end_s":464.32,"text":"about the AI stuff is a lot of it is stuff we've already had like oh hey proofreading that's grammar","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":464.32,"end_s":473.2,"text":"check which we had in the 90s yes the automatic memories the the slideshows and stuff yeah it's","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":473.2,"end_s":478.24,"text":"like we had that now it's better you can you can be more specific about it now you can tell","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":478.24,"end_s":482.0,"text":"it what you want to see but like before it would just do that automatically it would just like","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":482.0,"end_s":487.36,"text":"grab all the stuff and and kind of put it together for you with whatever it thinks is appropriate","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":487.36,"end_s":492.32,"text":"and where you go like and it's funny how they go back and they say they said like oh yeah well","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":492.32,"end_s":496.8,"text":"it's so much work to do this on your own even though it used to be like oh it's so simple you can","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":496.8,"end_s":502.4,"text":"just choose all of these pictures and it's funny how they go back and they like retconned","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":502.4,"end_s":511.04,"text":"they're their previous super like super easy super simple uh UI and now it's like oh my god it's so","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":511.04,"end_s":518.8,"text":"much work speaking of retcon what do you think of apple intelligence they retconned AI into apple","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":518.8,"end_s":522.24,"text":"I thought it was pretty I was like I see what you're doing there I thought it was pretty clever","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":522.24,"end_s":527.36,"text":"because it's it's they're being it's being they're like well like everyone's you're obviously you're","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":527.36,"end_s":531.52,"text":"doing a video about this the whole thing about AI and artificial intelligence and you're nothing","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":531.52,"end_s":534.8,"text":"about the video but obviously there's been just a lot of like why are we using this term so like","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":534.8,"end_s":538.64,"text":"apple being like let's get rid of the artificial that I guess the issue is actually with the term","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":538.64,"end_s":542.48,"text":"of intelligence well the thing is that's that's something that I actually did appreciate because","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":542.48,"end_s":546.32,"text":"I don't think they ever actually said artificial intelligence it's true yeah they they said","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":546.32,"end_s":552.08,"text":"intelligence they said you know machine learning and then they said apple intelligence which you","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":552.08,"end_s":558.64,"text":"know okay whatever but you know at least they're not participating in the the the hype storm I think","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":558.64,"end_s":565.68,"text":"Tim Cook himself seems to be a little bit not skeptical but um cautious yeah of machine learning","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":566.8,"end_s":573.44,"text":"just as like in terms of the the overall um you know marked forward yeah right well they","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":573.44,"end_s":578.4,"text":"established kind of those values at the beginning which are like powerful and intuitive and integrated","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":578.4,"end_s":586.24,"text":"and personal context I think those things yeah so like um it's good to see it's interesting and","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":586.24,"end_s":590.24,"text":"it's good to see that they're like it's almost like they're saying like guys we've been working on","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":590.24,"end_s":595.28,"text":"this for so long already like this is just this I guess is the next step of it of what they've","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":595.28,"end_s":602.4,"text":"been working on yeah it'll be interesting to see if Siri's gonna be really good now so half the time","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":602.4,"end_s":608.48,"text":"when I activate Siri to do something yeah it'll say okay playing blah blah blah blah and I'm like","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":608.48,"end_s":614.4,"text":"I asked you to do something oh yeah I asked you to turn a light off I asked you to open a door","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":615.2,"end_s":624.32,"text":"why why are you now playing something by the doors like like and not only that but I have a","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":624.32,"end_s":629.76,"text":"home pod speaker and half the time when I'm watching YouTube or not I guess not half the time but a","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":629.76,"end_s":635.12,"text":"lot of the time when I'm watching YouTube it'll get activated even though someone says sorry yeah","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":635.12,"end_s":641.44,"text":"like nobody said Siri yeah nobody even said Siri at all not even hey Siri it was just Siri and it's","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":641.44,"end_s":648.48,"text":"just like mm-hmm and then it'll like take the huge prompt and then it's like real cool tasks","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":648.48,"end_s":654.88,"text":"coming from the YouTube videos on your Mac yeah so now now somebody can say something like hey","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":654.88,"end_s":660.32,"text":"Siri delete everything and I don't know maybe that'll work or not I don't know what what Siri's","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":660.32,"end_s":664.4,"text":"actually able to do but it does seem like Siri can interact with the operating system in a lot","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":664.4,"end_s":670.08,"text":"broader ways than it used to be able to in ways that people actually want it to be able to do it","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":670.08,"end_s":677.12,"text":"which will be handy if it works well yeah like you could I mean right now can you make Siri turn","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":677.12,"end_s":682.0,"text":"Wi-Fi on or off I don't see it'll usually just like pop up actually you know what I'll check right","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":682.0,"end_s":692.8,"text":"turn off Wi-Fi Wi-Fi is on let me know if you want to turn it off okay turn off Wi-Fi Wi-Fi is on","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":693.36,"end_s":699.28,"text":"let me know if you want to turn it off okay well there's only we can only go up from here","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":699.28,"end_s":706.08,"text":"exactly oh god I mean the thing that's most exciting for me that's probably going to make me buy a","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":706.08,"end_s":714.24,"text":"Mac again uh now that my old one's dead is iPhone Mary really yeah that's going to be huge for me","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":714.24,"end_s":720.4,"text":"I really want to be able to interact with my phone uh through my desktop if I'm at my desktop I don't","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":720.4,"end_s":726.56,"text":"want to have to like stop like interacting with my desktop and reach down and pick up my phone","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":727.2,"end_s":732.88,"text":"unlock it and then like go and find whatever I need to do yeah right and then put it down again","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":732.88,"end_s":738.24,"text":"and go back and then if I my phone buzzes again I need to pick it up and look like that is incredibly","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":738.24,"end_s":744.32,"text":"disruptive to me if I could just have notifications come in and interact with them uh on the desktop","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":744.32,"end_s":749.28,"text":"no matter whether they're a desktop app or not I know you can do that with text messages now with","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":749.28,"end_s":754.56,"text":"iMessage um and some others as well but like not everything allows you to completely interact","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":754.56,"end_s":759.76,"text":"with the notifications that you get yeah that requires the notification interaction to be good","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":759.76,"end_s":765.52,"text":"I mean well yes like they redesigned notification interactions on macOS a few years ago and it's","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":765.52,"end_s":769.2,"text":"like now instead of to reply to any message for instance and this is just a Mac it's like three","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":769.2,"end_s":773.76,"text":"clicks instead of it's like one uh or you have to like see more and then you can hit reply and then","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":773.76,"end_s":778.8,"text":"the thing's there yeah whereas like before I used to just be reply and so I'm I guess the that do","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":786.0,"end_s":789.76,"text":"that or I could literally just have the mirror of my phone on my screen that's true I mean it'll","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":789.76,"end_s":793.6,"text":"just take you to the mirror of your phone and that'll that'll be really handy it I mean I was pretty","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":793.6,"end_s":797.28,"text":"impressed with that that's pretty great a pretty handy thing to have I'm like well that made me","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":797.28,"end_s":802.0,"text":"more distracted because the phone could be pretty distracting and now I have easy access to it on my","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":802.0,"end_s":808.4,"text":"computer well sort of I mean you could also use it as I'm not going to say a second monitor but","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":808.4,"end_s":813.76,"text":"like you know another web browser or another whatever yeah uh that you don't have to run on","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":813.76,"end_s":818.08,"text":"your computer so you have more compute resources open on your phone yeah our funny way of running","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":818.08,"end_s":822.56,"text":"iOS apps without having to run them locally yeah I don't know what the frame rate's gonna be like so","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":822.56,"end_s":827.36,"text":"it might not be great for running iOS apps yeah well it'll probably be similar to like sidecar if","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":827.36,"end_s":832.56,"text":"you can use sidecar wirelessly on your iPad yeah it just has like less pixels to push perhaps but","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":832.56,"end_s":839.52,"text":"yeah it's less pixels to push but it it is a separate display virtually from your actual","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":839.52,"end_s":843.12,"text":"iPhone's display or I guess it may be more like airplane mirroring I mean it's probably using that","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":843.12,"end_s":850.72,"text":"protocol probably yeah something like that oh calculator that's the other thing on the iPad","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":851.6,"end_s":856.8,"text":"you know it's like we took the calculator and we made it larger","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":857.36,"end_s":864.08,"text":"well I mean there I'm sure that there would be pretty cheesy there I think the interesting","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":864.08,"end_s":868.88,"text":"thing with the calculator that I found pretty impressive was the sort of math notes situation","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":868.88,"end_s":872.08,"text":"where you can like really draw out whatever formulas you're working on and it's going to","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":872.08,"end_s":878.8,"text":"calculate all that I mean imagine having that back in school days I was super skeptical the moment","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":878.8,"end_s":884.88,"text":"he said that I'm like wait apple pencil no I don't want to if I have the option of just pressing","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":884.88,"end_s":889.68,"text":"buttons and having digits show up I'm going to do that every time I'm not gonna write out the bit","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":894.48,"end_s":899.68,"text":"deeper right then you can start writing out expressions you can start writing out variables","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":899.68,"end_s":904.72,"text":"and you can change those variables with a little dial which like that's really cool yeah and you can","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":904.72,"end_s":910.0,"text":"actually graph it reminded me of like spreadsheets almost you're like kind of creating but it's like","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":910.0,"end_s":915.68,"text":"in a really natural way yeah really freeform spreadsheet basically it could be a huge it","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":915.68,"end_s":920.64,"text":"could be a huge deal I mean it would probably be a huge deal for students yeah oh like I was I","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":920.64,"end_s":926.88,"text":"was thinking about back when I was in high school we had a ti graphing calculator yeah but now like","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":926.88,"end_s":932.24,"text":"this would be pretty amazing I thought that that would be the most um like obvious thing in the","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":932.24,"end_s":937.68,"text":"world to make the calculator on the iPad a graphing calculator yeah yeah of course and they didn't do","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":937.76,"end_s":942.8,"text":"that but then they did do that yeah right yeah which is like oh well that's a little magical","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":942.8,"end_s":946.88,"text":"that was really that was actually pretty impressive it was like I guess they were waiting 14 years to","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":946.88,"end_s":952.48,"text":"do it right and now they finally did it they just they did the Steve Jobs way they analyzed every","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":952.48,"end_s":957.28,"text":"pixel they tried every different permutation oh I'm just oh I was also thinking about smart","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":957.28,"end_s":961.84,"text":"script as well which is I guess kind of like the smart strip technology it's probably in the same","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":961.84,"end_s":967.52,"text":"wheelhouse where it figures out your handwriting and then it sort of writes with it I write","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":967.52,"end_s":973.52,"text":"cursive I'm very curious how it would handle my messy cursive it might be better than you think","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":974.16,"end_s":980.56,"text":"because uh they've been able to analyze cursive since the Newton did they do it well back then","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":980.56,"end_s":985.36,"text":"not really but you know they could do it and I think they can probably do it well now using","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":985.36,"end_s":990.56,"text":"machine learning uh I mean use machine learning back then too but like much more robust machine","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":990.56,"end_s":996.88,"text":"learning uh the thing about that for me is that much like the calculator I don't want to write","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":996.88,"end_s":1001.2,"text":"something if I can press buttons and have the thing come up I can type much faster than I handwriting","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":1007.12,"end_s":1013.2,"text":"is ridiculously like messy even printing like I just print most of the time yeah and my like","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":1018.56,"end_s":1022.48,"text":"handwriting I do think there's value to handwriting but I think for me is like I have a notepad","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":1022.48,"end_s":1028.48,"text":"and I need the physicality of paper with its geography in space to like to actually be able","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":1028.48,"end_s":1032.72,"text":"to like sort those things out so when I hand write it's like it has to be physical and every","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":1032.72,"end_s":1037.76,"text":"time I try handwriting or anything even sometimes I try notes digitally it's like oh I gotta find it","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":1037.76,"end_s":1041.92,"text":"and yeah it kind of becomes more abstract right especially if you can scroll because scrolling","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":1041.92,"end_s":1047.52,"text":"you just completely disconnects you from that physicality yeah exactly I understand that I don't","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":1047.52,"end_s":1054.64,"text":"really personally perceive a benefit to me for like taking notes with writing I know some people","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":1054.64,"end_s":1062.8,"text":"really get a lot out of that I don't but as far as doing that goes doing it on paper at least","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":1062.8,"end_s":1067.52,"text":"something that's fixed and you don't like you know you can't move it around or scale it or","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":1067.52,"end_s":1072.72,"text":"anything like that is it's a lot easier to like kind of wrap your brain around and maybe that's","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":1072.72,"end_s":1078.32,"text":"just because you know I grew up in a world where handwriting recognition wasn't really a thing","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":1078.32,"end_s":1085.28,"text":"or graffiti on my palm pile yeah yeah yeah one thing I was going to mention and it's kind of","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":1085.28,"end_s":1093.76,"text":"more in a like huh or disappointment level which is I was hoping to see more depth to the iPad","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":1093.76,"end_s":1098.48,"text":"like they just released this new iPad Pro I've been using it I'm still running into the same mobile","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":1099.36,"end_s":1106.08,"text":"the mobile wall for on apps and stuff like that using this very expensive device and I was kind of","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":1106.08,"end_s":1112.32,"text":"hoping that you know they kind of implement something that just make the operating system a","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":1112.32,"end_s":1118.32,"text":"little deeper and a little bit more capable and basically all we got was a new floating tab see","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":1124.88,"end_s":1130.0,"text":"uh it's neat I like that you can customize it yeah that's cool but yeah that was the only thing","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":1130.0,"end_s":1136.32,"text":"and he pointedly like it sounded like he was talking to me and actually like like mocking me","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":1136.32,"end_s":1142.24,"text":"specifically like oh the unique experience is only capable on iPad and it's like just give me","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":1142.24,"end_s":1147.12,"text":"just give me macOS apps already I don't care if I can only run one at a time just give me the too","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":1216.88,"end_s":1222.08,"text":"expensive for its capability and so like it's really hard for what my issue is like uh","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":1368.88,"end_s":1375.36,"text":"any five points guys I'll quickly mention uh talk about software is not fun I mean hardware is","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":1375.36,"end_s":1382.0,"text":"nothing without software but then again software is nothing without hardware so like you can't make","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":1382.0,"end_s":1387.6,"text":"your event all about software or all about hardware it has to be a marriage of both and Apple a","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":1395.84,"end_s":1401.36,"text":"lot of pressure from investors to go hard on AI um just because it's printing money right now","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":1401.36,"end_s":1406.8,"text":"actually it's burning yeah actually it's not making a lot of money like people are just sinking","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":1406.8,"end_s":1412.4,"text":"money into it but yeah uh Tim Cook I think is is very uncomfortable talking about it because he","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":1412.4,"end_s":1419.6,"text":"doesn't personally see the hype machine as real yeah um but obviously the investors do","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":1420.56,"end_s":1425.36,"text":"so he has to walk that fine line yeah it's fun to see it's fun to see them being kind of drag","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":1425.36,"end_s":1429.04,"text":"kicking and screaming into this and then to see how they deal with it that's very interesting","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":1429.04,"end_s":1432.8,"text":"yeah the the one thing that I found really interesting is that they have so much not","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":1432.8,"end_s":1437.76,"text":"invested in AI generation that they went with chat GPD I'm really glad that it offers later","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0}],"full_text":"Welcome Emily and Jonathan, WWC just wrapped up and I just want your thoughts. What do you guys think of the event? I mean for me it seemed like it was a much longer event than last time and a lot more content in it like it was stuffed to the brim like they actually had to cut some things it seemed like like some things that were actually kind of interesting like resizing icons on iOS rcs support so like the new the rich messaging system that's like kind of universal they cut art oh so they are supporting rcs yeah so they just didn't talk about it they they mentioned it briefly towards the end with all the yeah yeah yeah with the summary but they didn't show it and they also didn't show like resizing icons so you can actually make an icon bigger yeah you can make icons bigger you can move them wherever you want you can put them on the grid just like I'm like I'm right no I missed a lot wow did you did you come in late no I mean no I missed the I did miss the right at the beginning the promo the first part of the promo the apple tv plus stuff but you know there's like all the I uh it's hard to write notes and then what look at the like little bento box yeah so it's all in a bento box I gotta look at those bento box before I write I write I guess yeah I'm glad rcs is there because I literally wrote where is rcs yeah tell me I think a bigger thing to mention yeah you would think so but like he literally just spent like 10 words saying oh and also you can resize icons and we have rcs support see this kind of comes down to a fundamental of the way apple events have been going now which is these kind of really fast paced uh don't look away or or blink because you're gonna miss something infomercials and I really miss the live shows when they would like be on stage and like have to demo things live to show that it actually works they don't have to prove that anything works now you know the videos work like when they do like that ipad or at least they did a month and a bit ago the videos work for something like that and maybe in between events but for something as like fundamental and as important as w w dc I feel like a live stage show uh is what I I miss and want back because it also requires a bit of even more focus yeah I mean once upon a time like they even famously the original iphone reveal that was hacked up so badly like the the iphone just didn't work like half the time it would either freeze up or reboot and it was actually a miracle that it yeah worked at all yeah and they had to hack it so that it had full signal strength but like now they don't really need to do any of that it's all mocked up yeah so like all the theory prompts and all the things that are happening on screen that could be happening anywhere it's written in a script literally just be it's a scripted yeah it could literally just be something that somebody mocked up in um well I guess final cut oh yeah yeah and so it's like because the other big question coming up especially we haven't really introduced the ass stuff but the big question is like how does this actually work in the real world and like I always am thinking about like where are the where are you going to find the walls of limitations that are going to be really frustrating when they come up and I don't know it's it's yeah that is a good point especially for something like this I feel like a live demo is important yeah yeah and like I understand in some cases like say the vision pro it's really difficult to get that across right yeah like the vision pro you can't really film that in a way that it makes any sense to see so they have to mock that up but with like an iphone thing not really I mean even with the vision pro announcement back back earlier this year I or even last year I thought it should have been done uh that should also have been done live because like the iphone thing it like they really had to push to make sure everything like to hopefully everything works and like really be specific about what they're demoing there's I don't know there's like a discipline that comes with it that um I worry we're losing well I mean given the length of it it's like an hour and 45 minutes or something like that or an hour and a half but like one of the things that I found really lacking was they didn't really talk about hardware at all no no yeah like I was kind of expecting yeah like I was kind of expecting them to talk about something like oh you'll be able to take advantage of this and more with our upcoming m4 pro or whatever you know we'll talk about that in the later presentation or something like that right but instead it's just like your ipad your iphone your mac and it's like okay but what if my ipad is on the cusp of being obsoleted which it is it's the it's the the final pre uh m1 ipad oh the a812z one yeah is it like yeah what is it yeah well let's see well they the one example was I think where they were talking about apple intelligence it seems like the on-device processing will work on m1's and newer and then it seems like a17 and that's the only a chip that'll support all the on all of that stuff so I'm still it's still a little I gotta like look into the pages to see kind of where the limitations lie yeah um and then obviously then that they did talk a little bit about hardware which shows I'm wondering if you're curious about how they created their own little apple silicon servers for the uh what do they call it privacy server website privacy scanning was like private cloud compute yes that's the one um I am a little bit interested in how they might have done that but I'm not sure that's strictly speaking what they're doing I mean it might be maybe we'll have more x serves at some point with like a bunch of m5 chips in them you know 256 yeah you're dreaming yeah no apple doesn't care about that anymore but you know it's it's something you can think about oh man there's so much to talk about with privacy cloud uh a private cloud it's it's basically Windows 11 recall if you think about it yeah I except like so like okay private cloud compute not specifically but all the all the ai features they're talking about and I don't want to get too into the ai right now because this is going to dominate the conversation but like that's doing all the same stuff that Windows 11 recall does except they're not specifically saying they're taking screenshots um so like you can say hey uh show me that picture of this person who did that last week and it'll do it uh or hey what restaurant did so-and-so uh suggest to me a few days ago and it'll do that like the same stuff right but apple probably isn't going to get as much scrutiny over it because I guess they have a better track record for privacy I mean some of those things it feels like we're kind of already in there but they just were there was like no place to like unify it so if you for instance you use the example of like finding a picture of so-and-so wearing a shirt like you could already look for pictures of a person because they're already doing on device facial recognition and then in the example of like oh find the calendar event that somebody or calendar somebody that you know the appointment somebody had made in a text message like if you look in messages and someone says hey can we do something at 4 p.m on Thursday like it'll underline 4 p.m Thursday kind of ready for you to make an event so like that stuff was like it feels like the ground work was already kind of laid for this stuff and then now they're finally like creating a system to put it all together I'm just still curious how that's all going to work but it was like already there yeah I guess so like a lot of it that's another thing about the AI stuff is a lot of it is stuff we've already had like oh hey proofreading that's grammar check which we had in the 90s yes the automatic memories the the slideshows and stuff yeah it's like we had that now it's better you can you can be more specific about it now you can tell it what you want to see but like before it would just do that automatically it would just like grab all the stuff and and kind of put it together for you with whatever it thinks is appropriate and where you go like and it's funny how they go back and they say they said like oh yeah well it's so much work to do this on your own even though it used to be like oh it's so simple you can just choose all of these pictures and it's funny how they go back and they like retconned they're their previous super like super easy super simple uh UI and now it's like oh my god it's so much work speaking of retcon what do you think of apple intelligence they retconned AI into apple I thought it was pretty I was like I see what you're doing there I thought it was pretty clever because it's it's they're being it's being they're like well like everyone's you're obviously you're doing a video about this the whole thing about AI and artificial intelligence and you're nothing about the video but obviously there's been just a lot of like why are we using this term so like apple being like let's get rid of the artificial that I guess the issue is actually with the term of intelligence well the thing is that's that's something that I actually did appreciate because I don't think they ever actually said artificial intelligence it's true yeah they they said intelligence they said you know machine learning and then they said apple intelligence which you know okay whatever but you know at least they're not participating in the the the hype storm I think Tim Cook himself seems to be a little bit not skeptical but um cautious yeah of machine learning just as like in terms of the the overall um you know marked forward yeah right well they established kind of those values at the beginning which are like powerful and intuitive and integrated and personal context I think those things yeah so like um it's good to see it's interesting and it's good to see that they're like it's almost like they're saying like guys we've been working on this for so long already like this is just this I guess is the next step of it of what they've been working on yeah it'll be interesting to see if Siri's gonna be really good now so half the time when I activate Siri to do something yeah it'll say okay playing blah blah blah blah and I'm like I asked you to do something oh yeah I asked you to turn a light off I asked you to open a door why why are you now playing something by the doors like like and not only that but I have a home pod speaker and half the time when I'm watching YouTube or not I guess not half the time but a lot of the time when I'm watching YouTube it'll get activated even though someone says sorry yeah like nobody said Siri yeah nobody even said Siri at all not even hey Siri it was just Siri and it's just like mm-hmm and then it'll like take the huge prompt and then it's like real cool tasks coming from the YouTube videos on your Mac yeah so now now somebody can say something like hey Siri delete everything and I don't know maybe that'll work or not I don't know what what Siri's actually able to do but it does seem like Siri can interact with the operating system in a lot broader ways than it used to be able to in ways that people actually want it to be able to do it which will be handy if it works well yeah like you could I mean right now can you make Siri turn Wi-Fi on or off I don't see it'll usually just like pop up actually you know what I'll check right turn off Wi-Fi Wi-Fi is on let me know if you want to turn it off okay turn off Wi-Fi Wi-Fi is on let me know if you want to turn it off okay well there's only we can only go up from here exactly oh god I mean the thing that's most exciting for me that's probably going to make me buy a Mac again uh now that my old one's dead is iPhone Mary really yeah that's going to be huge for me I really want to be able to interact with my phone uh through my desktop if I'm at my desktop I don't want to have to like stop like interacting with my desktop and reach down and pick up my phone unlock it and then like go and find whatever I need to do yeah right and then put it down again and go back and then if I my phone buzzes again I need to pick it up and look like that is incredibly disruptive to me if I could just have notifications come in and interact with them uh on the desktop no matter whether they're a desktop app or not I know you can do that with text messages now with iMessage um and some others as well but like not everything allows you to completely interact with the notifications that you get yeah that requires the notification interaction to be good I mean well yes like they redesigned notification interactions on macOS a few years ago and it's like now instead of to reply to any message for instance and this is just a Mac it's like three clicks instead of it's like one uh or you have to like see more and then you can hit reply and then the thing's there yeah whereas like before I used to just be reply and so I'm I guess the that sounds great if they like make the interaction method model with notifications better well they could do that or I could literally just have the mirror of my phone on my screen that's true I mean it'll just take you to the mirror of your phone and that'll that'll be really handy it I mean I was pretty impressed with that that's pretty great a pretty handy thing to have I'm like well that made me more distracted because the phone could be pretty distracting and now I have easy access to it on my computer well sort of I mean you could also use it as I'm not going to say a second monitor but like you know another web browser or another whatever yeah uh that you don't have to run on your computer so you have more compute resources open on your phone yeah our funny way of running iOS apps without having to run them locally yeah I don't know what the frame rate's gonna be like so it might not be great for running iOS apps yeah well it'll probably be similar to like sidecar if you can use sidecar wirelessly on your iPad yeah it just has like less pixels to push perhaps but yeah it's less pixels to push but it it is a separate display virtually from your actual iPhone's display or I guess it may be more like airplane mirroring I mean it's probably using that protocol probably yeah something like that oh calculator that's the other thing on the iPad you know it's like we took the calculator and we made it larger well I mean there I'm sure that there would be pretty cheesy there I think the interesting thing with the calculator that I found pretty impressive was the sort of math notes situation where you can like really draw out whatever formulas you're working on and it's going to calculate all that I mean imagine having that back in school days I was super skeptical the moment he said that I'm like wait apple pencil no I don't want to if I have the option of just pressing buttons and having digits show up I'm going to do that every time I'm not gonna write out the digits and have them complete in my handwriting I don't care about that but then it went a little bit deeper right then you can start writing out expressions you can start writing out variables and you can change those variables with a little dial which like that's really cool yeah and you can actually graph it reminded me of like spreadsheets almost you're like kind of creating but it's like in a really natural way yeah really freeform spreadsheet basically it could be a huge it could be a huge deal I mean it would probably be a huge deal for students yeah oh like I was I was thinking about back when I was in high school we had a ti graphing calculator yeah but now like this would be pretty amazing I thought that that would be the most um like obvious thing in the world to make the calculator on the iPad a graphing calculator yeah yeah of course and they didn't do that but then they did do that yeah right yeah which is like oh well that's a little magical that was really that was actually pretty impressive it was like I guess they were waiting 14 years to do it right and now they finally did it they just they did the Steve Jobs way they analyzed every pixel they tried every different permutation oh I'm just oh I was also thinking about smart script as well which is I guess kind of like the smart strip technology it's probably in the same wheelhouse where it figures out your handwriting and then it sort of writes with it I write cursive I'm very curious how it would handle my messy cursive it might be better than you think because uh they've been able to analyze cursive since the Newton did they do it well back then not really but you know they could do it and I think they can probably do it well now using machine learning uh I mean use machine learning back then too but like much more robust machine learning uh the thing about that for me is that much like the calculator I don't want to write something if I can press buttons and have the thing come up I can type much faster than I can write I rarely if ever use the pencil to actually write anything especially because my handwriting is ridiculously like messy even printing like I just print most of the time yeah and my printing is chicken scratch I'm the same way I think for but it doesn't it doesn't mean I don't like handwriting I do think there's value to handwriting but I think for me is like I have a notepad and I need the physicality of paper with its geography in space to like to actually be able to like sort those things out so when I hand write it's like it has to be physical and every time I try handwriting or anything even sometimes I try notes digitally it's like oh I gotta find it and yeah it kind of becomes more abstract right especially if you can scroll because scrolling you just completely disconnects you from that physicality yeah exactly I understand that I don't really personally perceive a benefit to me for like taking notes with writing I know some people really get a lot out of that I don't but as far as doing that goes doing it on paper at least something that's fixed and you don't like you know you can't move it around or scale it or anything like that is it's a lot easier to like kind of wrap your brain around and maybe that's just because you know I grew up in a world where handwriting recognition wasn't really a thing or graffiti on my palm pile yeah yeah yeah one thing I was going to mention and it's kind of more in a like huh or disappointment level which is I was hoping to see more depth to the iPad like they just released this new iPad Pro I've been using it I'm still running into the same mobile the mobile wall for on apps and stuff like that using this very expensive device and I was kind of hoping that you know they kind of implement something that just make the operating system a little deeper and a little bit more capable and basically all we got was a new floating tab bar and like that's it and like it's neat but like I feel like that might confuse people even we'll see uh it's neat I like that you can customize it yeah that's cool but yeah that was the only thing and he pointedly like it sounded like he was talking to me and actually like like mocking me specifically like oh the unique experience is only capable on iPad and it's like just give me just give me macOS apps already I don't care if I can only run one at a time just give me the macOS apps yeah if okay so if you if you only have the iPad macOS apps would be terrible because they're not meant for touch that being said they have increased the like kind of areas around buttons and stuff but that that I understand that if you have a magic keyboard or even any other peripherals there's no reason why it can't be a macbook there's no reason it's the same it's the same hardware it's ostensibly the same operating system like they could just make it a um uh what was it the front row kind of situation where you can like except in the other direction so the iPad would start on the native back row iPad os yeah back row and then you could like go to um mac mode or whatever and it would just like open up in an app yeah it's still it's still very confusing and uh it uh nothing changed yeah no they're not gonna be there I hate the fact that they're so against making iPad any more useful than it is now I guess for me the funny thing is this is actually now just more iPad thoughts so maybe you have to edit this out I think the iPad is too expensive for its capability and so like it's really hard for what my issue is like justifying how much an iPad pro costs despite this screen being amazing uh based on this capability like I've no problem with the iPad being this limited on the cheap one I actually like using it and I actually like those limitations but it's just this like kind of disconnect the iPad pro should be basically a mac without a keyboard yeah like that's that's what it should be I I'm sorry Apple but your products make no sense the iPad air makes perfect sense the iPad iPad makes perfect sense the iPad pro at what is it like what does it start at like over a thousand dollars now that makes no sense that's computer money and yeah the iPad's a computer but you're not treating it like one you're treating it like a second-class device and you always have it's always been either a bigger iPhone or a worse Mac just make it a Mac already okay like I understand that you know touch interfaces are different again just give us the option to make it a Mac okay you've been following AI a little more than I have and I find myself I'll dabble in it and I'll just be like uh I'm too much of control freak for this what do you think about Apple's implementations of say their summaries in a large language models and the image generator and I think that was basically it the image generator is nitrate nightmare fuel absolute nightmare fuel um everything else looks pretty good though like it's all seems like very um very normal ways of using yeah yeah which I like like it always it all makes sense like it's not just shoe horning AI in for the sake of AI it's like stuff that actually will make things easier for people uh for the most part um hopefully like email uh like the the the summaries yeah in email that's going to be huge because how many times have I looked at an email and it's just like the first line is like uh this is an important notice from and it's just dot dot dot and it's like literally just like the sender and I'm like god damn it yeah or or page not showing up click here to open in your browser that's like I don't want that that that means nothing to me yeah those that'd be handy if you can if we can really go that far and also the fact that uh mail can now uh automatically categorize your mail like yeah I know Gmail had that but now it's agnostic through mail yeah and my mail has been getting crazy and I've been stressing about it so this might actually help me all right we're approaching our 25 minute limit here so is there anything uh any five points guys I'll quickly mention uh talk about software is not fun I mean hardware is nothing without software but then again software is nothing without hardware so like you can't make your event all about software or all about hardware it has to be a marriage of both and Apple usually understands that it doesn't feel like they did this time around they really went hard on the software which I think they kind of felt like they had to because I think that they're getting a lot of pressure from investors to go hard on AI um just because it's printing money right now actually it's burning yeah actually it's not making a lot of money like people are just sinking money into it but yeah uh Tim Cook I think is is very uncomfortable talking about it because he doesn't personally see the hype machine as real yeah um but obviously the investors do so he has to walk that fine line yeah it's fun to see it's fun to see them being kind of drag kicking and screaming into this and then to see how they deal with it that's very interesting yeah the the one thing that I found really interesting is that they have so much not invested in AI generation that they went with chat GPD I'm really glad that it offers and doesn't just do it that would be that would be really bad for sure all right we'll end it there thank you guys for uh this little talk uh if anyone the full plane wants to see Jonathan's or Emily's video coming out it's coming out today right um yeah well it's gonna be uh ploof and I are gonna be probably mine won't come out today probably tomorrow uh it might be tomorrow for us too but I don't know we won't ever we'll we'll figure it out if you guys will see the video make sure to check it out and again thanks for guys for this little talk it went a lot longer I thought it would yeah well usually yeah all right thank you thanks see you later"}
