What's the Korean process when you make these songs? It's a blur every time. I feel like I kind of look at the talking points, because the brand does have talking points of things they want to call out. But I feel like before I even kind of contemplate those, I try to think of some line. So for Odu, all you got to do is Odu. I thought of that, and then I never thought of anything else for them, I think. Was there another? It was just every Odu spot was all you got to do is Odu. I think I came up with some other random ones. We'll watch the other ones. But yeah, I come up with like a line like that, and then I'm like, okay, that can kind of work musically if I like, all you got to do is O... I think I had some different rhythm with it and another one like, all you got to do is Odu and like playing around with that. But if I come up with a rhythm for the line, then I'm kind of like, all right, that kind of reminds me of a music genre, and then I go to APM Music. This is very important to get out. I've been stressed about this. I want people to understand that I'm not making the tracks. I've been stressed, because I want people... I think people are like, Riley's making... Yeah, yeah, so I'll find a track on APM Music, which I feel like works well. And then I'll kind of plug in the lines that I've thought of and, like, write more lyrics and kind of time it out. And usually I will cut the... Because they have, like, the full version, and then they have, like, a minute-long version, and they have a 30-second version, but usually I want, like, a very specific parts of it, so I'll cut, like, parts of the track to, like, be a custom version of it. And then I'll record the lyrics, put it together in our, like, a rough mix, and then we can go shoot and, like, lip-sync to it. And what is that like? Is it okay if we go to the next one and then you ask that question again? How dare you? Okay. Just so we're... I'm trying to make sure we watch all the videos in time. I had a vision of that as being a bunch of different shots in different locations. Kind of like a 90s rap video with crazy super low angles where I'm getting close to the camera and the camera's moving around. But we had no time. I literally spent the entire morning recording the rap. And then we got, and we're like, this was going to be one of the shots on the table. And we were like, okay, we don't have any time. So let's just make the whole thing just this one shot and just kind of like have different things happening. Yeah. But I feel like this is a great example of constraints, fostering creativity. Creativity is hard to do with no canvas. Yeah, you gotta give yourself limitations. You gotta have something to paint on, preferably a four by three canvas. The superior aspect ratio. But wait, what's your philosophy? You're like the things, the bars on the side, that could be empty. No one needs, we don't need extra things there. No. Yeah. Like who cares? But in this situation, we need us to be this far apart or else we'd be- But if we were sitting this close- Yeah, well I, but then we'd be- Although we have made children together, as we talked about. Don't cut it! I got questions for you about this one, but we'll watch it first. Okay. Oh please. A modular sofa, so lightweight, a single person can li- Roller, how do they even fit a couch in there? So, so it's like high concept almost. Where did you come up with that idea for the scientists intercutting with like show tunes? I think the show tune aspect came from me just like trying to sing Roevelab in different ways, and just thinking like, just thinking like, I don't know, Roevelab, it just sounded like that, that's how it should be. Cause like, I feel like the eco flow one as well was like, okay, how can I say that in a fun way? Like eco, eco, eco, eco flow, like, and it's like flow kind of got me into thinking about like rap and stuff. So I'm like, maybe that one should be a rap, but like Roevelab, Roevelab, doesn't that just sound like it's supposed to be that way? I don't know. It seems like when I, when I come up with those, but in terms of like the interrupting each other, I think that was because Roevelab seemed like it should be a big band crooner kind of a singing guy, but then their whole, their marketing is all about like the science of it. And like we engineered this new way to like ship couches to people and stuff. So I was like, okay, there's a science aspect and then I was just like, oh, they'll just, they'll clash them together. I feel like it's a little, like the flow kind of suffers because of it, but I thought that the flow being broken was almost a way to like keep people engaged because they're like, what's happening? Whoa, what's this now? Yeah. Yeah. Like the tonal whiplash of, you know, getting the rug pulled from India. I will say though that like, I very much feel that these are like my vision, but I bring it to Bjorn and the like other production team people and I'm like, I feel like I'm thinking this and then sometimes they're like, okay, but what if we do this? And I'm like, yeah, that'd be better. So like so much of it is a collaborative process. Like the four by three and the filter on it and like, I feel like there were other things in that one specifically that you were like, we should do this instead. And I'm like, at first, I might even be resistant at first, but then I'm like, you know, I know. So when we work on these, Riley's often a little late. Yeah. Yeah. A little stressed. I'll be doing something else that I'm kind of pulled off to go shoot this or whatever. Then so I'm a little stressed and there's been a few where we start and we're both maybe a little grumpy, but then as it goes. I feel like you've done a great job of masking. I think the last one that we did together, I was like, I can tell you're a little upset that this is like down to the last minute, whereas the previous ones, they've all been down to the last minute, but I feel like the novelty of getting to work on something kind of creative and fun was like overpowered it. And now it's like, okay, can we do these on time? And I think that's the vision. We've got a little bit more of an apparatus around it now and we're kind of like lining more up and having people like we're going to get other writers to do them as well, because I just, I can't seem to, I can't seem to have a schedule that doesn't involve last minute things. Like I showed, what was I? I was like 20 minutes late for this, 15, 15 max. Oh, that's 20. That's because I was late to do another thing and I was coming for that. And then you get the cascading effect and then we're shooting one of these videos and I need to edit it that day because it needs to go to brand later that day. But they're only, they're a minute long max, but like the quality requires at least a day. And so yeah, that's another thing we're working on. All of the like film grain and the retro effects adds a lot to the rendering. The rendering. And hey, and the subtitles, they weren't in that one. Oh, that's true. I put like a slight jitter on them so they're like old optical effects. You did? Oh my gosh, that's so great. Which you probably can't even see on YouTube. Well, I feel like a bunch of these, a bunch of these because of time, I'll like, you'll do a cut, I'll review it, and then you do another cut and I might, I might see that or I might not, or I might just be like, all right, just send it off. We have to send it off at this point. So there's probably some things that I missed. But these are fun. They're fun. And I very much appreciate a chance to get wacky and get creative with ads. It makes it feel like we're like working at like one of the good marketing agencies. Yeah, yeah. And it's great because I don't think on any of them we've ever gotten notes back from the brand. They're just like, cool. Yeah. Was there one? I can't remember. The Rolf Lab one we just watched. And I don't know if they haven't sent notes back because they've been so great that they don't need to send notes back or because there's just no time. Maybe a bit about it. We have to do it. But the Rolf Lab one, one of the guys in the business team was saying another brand had seen that and they upgraded all of theirs to CSP. So it's going to work for you and me. And another writer. And another writer. Yeah. Yeah, but. Yeah, we'll see. Yeah. Yeah. This one is a two-parter. Yeah. You have 13 minutes. But do we have to? I mean. It's your call. It's your schedule. That's what gives me trouble. This is the one where you're upset. Yeah, maybe. But look at. I think the turnaround is crazy on this one. It was. It was a little too much. I love that. I love when they can tell a story. We should just go right into the nice one. Doing the pre to kind of tease the, sorry, the pre is the pre-roll. And then we call the minute long one the end roll. And it's like, no. Part of I feel like the magic of these is that they feel sort of like a high school project. That was like me at all university. I did everything super last minute. I swear it's better that way. Yeah, yeah, yeah. James Scott was also, oh man, I feel like we did a couple of takes with him where he's like lip-syncing to the audio. We didn't tell him to do that. I was like, man, the coach right now. It was so perfect. Yeah, that one was a lot of fun. Another thing you don't like when we shoot, you don't like to get coverage. I'm always obsessed with getting as many angles as possible. Well, and that's why, yeah. Yeah, yeah. When I write the script, if there's a script, if there's a script, I write it like, I'm trying to make it as easy for the editors as possible. So I have a line of the song and then a shot that we're going to do. And then a line of the song and then a shot. And so I'm like, I don't want to get coverage because just use that shot. But there have been a couple of times where, well, particularly with the Rovalab one, with the science and singery one, I don't know actually, I wouldn't know if you used the coverage or not. You just have it. Because then we have it. It's a good instinct. The EcoFlow one we had, I was going crazy in and out with the camera. We never ended up using that. Oh, you went like, right? Yeah, yeah. We didn't use that because I couldn't remember the lyrics. It was so short. It was so short. But I was like, what did I write again? I'm not a rapper. I feel like when when when a YouTube when you're watching YouTube, you kind of want to see some humanity. You want to see some like relatability like, oh, a human being made this and not like a giant production studio. And I feel like especially in the middle of like a line is tech tip video where now we have this big apparatus and our videos are produced. And we're basically making like reality TV in a lot of situations. And then all of a sudden it's like some idiot comes on. Some idiot comes on in a in a costume made of like scraps he found in his parents' basement and stuff. And it's just like, hey, everybody go buy this product. I don't know. I like it. Yeah. I also am making them. They're kind of like the highlight when I get to make them. You get to be stupid for a second. Yeah. And don't we all just want to be stupid for a little bit?
