I don't care","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":433.16,"end_s":440.92,"text":"Yeah, I remember when I first took apart the computer What had happened is I guess Jake had built it and this building had gone through a bunch of construction because they had to build","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":441.48,"end_s":445.8,"text":"Of the second floor. They had to build the lounge. I don't remember the CPU specifically, but we're still running. I think what is uh","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":527.16,"end_s":532.84,"text":"Yeah, I'm gtx like 1060 1070. I'm Bell and we're gonna show you all the computers here at LMG Starting with ShortCircuit. This is a special channel You know, we unbox a lot of things, but many of our videos don't actually involve needing a computer But most of our videos don't require Videos don't require a computer We're unboxing cameras chairs building PC So we don't usually need a whole lot, but what powers the TV behind the set? a computer What is a computer? Well urban dictionary down here is the computer that powers the tv and it is a mac mini You know, if you're thinking why do you have like a modern mac mini powering a slideshow? Well, that's exactly the reason this slideshow is actually just keynote Built into an apple computer How's that? We'll do that. That's a lot easier than having to make something that's you know Inoffensive and is easy to cut around when you're an editor So we just use the built-in keynote function and made this nice little Moving wave thing that's built into it. So otherwise, we don't really use it for anything We actually have a separate laptop for all the capture footage when we're playing games for like mice videos or keyboard videos But this mac mini just sits on the floor and is just for keynote As you can see people steal it all the time and touch all the settings So I've had to mark it up with a bunch of ugly stickers to say don't steal my laptop Otherwise, they don't really know much about it. It works fine, but it's loud as all heck. So Hashtag get ShortCircuit a new laptop. Nope. Nope. Nope. Nope. No free cloud Hi, my name is Collin. I can't speak so we're going to speak through telepathy Today we're showing off the streaming and capture laptop that we use on set The reason we use this is because we need something really powerful And we've had multiple shoots get ruined because we use horrible laptops when capturing 4k footage The starfield video was the uh, was the catalyst to asking ASUS to send us one of these What's in here is the ASUS rog strix scar 16 240 hertz mini led got an Intel i9 13th gen 13 980 hx Holy s*** a rtx 4080 and 32 gigs of RAM The reason we use this is because we need something really powerful and extremely portable when capturing 4k footage Like a lot of stuff on like a build corner will be using when it's laptop So sometimes he has like tabs open, but no one should see they're like his emails there or it's it's recording in 16 by 10 So it's really bad for the editors So the reason we need something of this high spec is because our goal is to capture 4k footage and 1080p is fine But it's not great when it goes on to the timeline for the editors So this is something that's pretty overkill that we can use something external like an avar media capture card It gives us a lot of horsepower It's just to kind of set it and forget it It takes a lot of heavy lifting out of the CPU when you're capturing you don't Really want to rely on it too much just because that's when problems going to rise and even other programs running in the background Everything starts kind of everything will start getting a little choppy. But yeah, this is basically our very portable very overkill capture machine Hey guys, it's Dan. I'm here with our stream pc and I got chase and we're going to kind of take you through our setup That we're running here Yeah, uh, so I got hired to do LTX and then covid happened So in the midst of me trying to figure out what to do I got stuck on doing streams and the stream cart for a while until Dan took over it was much more knowledgeable than I Uh, but we made some upgrades in the time that I was always around for the streams Yeah, you took over from Jake as well. Yeah, so Jake built the original computer It was on a test bench Just open test bench just chilling the cart was like half the size and it was all plastic So like one of those rolly carts, so we have logistics We upgraded the cart I put the computer in a case and I tried to make the obs experience a little better But I would that was not my forte took quite a while to like upgrade all of those things Yeah, it's kind of been in flux for a long time. I don't think I changed too much from what chase did the metal cart I think you had done right? I think I've changed out a couple of the cards. We've Changed out the audio as well. We're going to use in the focus right now Monitor situation is a little bit different and then I redid some of the cabling and made a little bit nicer to like sit at And use yeah, we discontinued the use of obs a little while ago when we switched everything over to v mix It's a little bit more stable and a little bit more consistent We've also moved into kind of a different situation for doing camera changes Normally on the wancho set. It's just one button changes the camera But because i'm here monitoring the broadcast and that's all i'm doing less merch messages We kind of run more of a traditional switching setup where we're in studio mode and The buttons kind of change the preview camera only so that I can see what is going to happen And then I can cut or fade directly to a camera a lot of people say it looks pre-recorded and that's a Kind of makes me feel good It also allows me kind of I'll hold this with both hands and then with my left thumb I can switch through the nine or ten different camera presets that I have a couple years ago now We we did a couple streams called like the tech support challenge So the first two happened with people outside of the studio and then we did one in studio Which didn't go too great because yeah, we had a lot of issues at the time We weren't using v mix or doing any kind of that studio switching because I wasn't aware of how to do that properly and so if you look around on the back, we just had like All the cameras plugged into kind of the sdi inputs here I think at the time we had a couple issues with some of the cards we had plugged in So like I think these have had to change like multiple times Just because we were getting weird issues and we had cables that were like they were 50 feet long But they weren't getting the video signal where it needed to go. So if someone actually ran over it It would just like cut out to black all of a sudden what I'm going to do is I'm just going to rotate Yeah, and I know one big thing Linus wanted way like when we were kind of doing some upgrades Was he wanted to see himself on this monitor, which I think helped a lot once we got it working But yeah, so we've got this live feed monitor over here So this one here shows the program output from the streaming setup right here So I can monitor the preview and program program is what's going live to stream So you can see exactly what he's being shown at the moment Sometimes I'll put chat up here, but we often use the Window tv for that I guess yeah, we experimented with like a vertical monitor for a bit But what ends up happening is you have this you have lighting you have the jig you have that You have just a bunch of monitors up gets a little tight So I think keeping it one monitor and Linus just all the time He ends up going on his laptop and looking at chats on there anyways And he has to for a few things like starting and stopping the stream and doing other things So at the end of the day just having him be able to monitor the stream itself is what was necessary Or the cart gets like way too bulky. We had one of those benq Like one of the monitors that the the editors use and it was had like the guard on it Even for like perfect light accuracy and it was just like so bulky and it made no sense I think the monitor is still there. We just took off all the the fancy parts. Yeah, this one looks like it has The stuff for that I taped them together for a while Because you're moving the cart around and they all like jingle and jangle So that's been ripped off obviously and that's that's fine. I don't care Yeah, I remember when I first took apart the computer What had happened is I guess Jake had built it and this building had gone through a bunch of construction because they had to build Of the second floor. They had to build the lounge. We had our like employee lounge It was on the bottom floor had to go to the top floor So we had a bunch of construction here and that thing was just like caked with dust I didn't even know if it was going to work. So I took off the aio and it turned out it had Started to bleed onto the CPU and everything So we caught it like just in time that we saved the computer, but it was a bit worrying for a moment there Yeah, because I'm not the most technical person like I know how to build a computer But I was like, we're just gonna have to get a bunch of new parts for it Which would suck probably better than it being on an open-air test bench and yeah, you know it Getting full of dust. Maybe that was not great. You mentioned that people were tripping over the cables and stuff We were having a lot of issues with the cameras blocking out. Yeah, and I eventually found out that the sdi cables that they had were bad That was there's there's two types here. There's this one which doesn't have that little white retaining thing And then this one which does and this one if you wiggle it a little tiny bit It kind of will lose a bit of connection and this one keeps it really stable. I remember that that was a discussion I remember when you started and you looked into it and I think pretty quickly you found out that the Wrong cables that was not something I would have ever known to look for right so yeah the whole time they were just complaining Oh, the cables are bad. I'm like, I don't know. They seem fine I mean, they're almost identical apart from that little like isolation ring, especially as these are apparently 12g So they're really high data rate for like 4k high refresh rate And so you need it to be pretty perfect. I don't remember the CPU specifically, but we're still running. I think what is uh Yeah, I'm gtx like 1060 1070. I got them up here. So Dan can show you on the GPU GTX 1070 cpus and i7 59 60x and then 32 gigs. We've got a memory leak great 32 gigs of ddr4 2667 not super intense like we have 21 inputs in vmix and on the wancho I have nearly 100 And most of them are stored in vram anyway. So vmix is really really GPU centric rather than the CPU centric. So If you're running vmix is compared to like obs or something you just need a good GPU with a lot of vram compared to You know anything else that uses a lot of CPU Apparently this only has eight gigs of vram. So that's again more than fine It's nice and lightweight. You don't have to go too crazy with this I don't know if you mentioned it earlier But one of the big issues when I was trying to help out with stream carton doing streams was the audio You know Linus is mic versus everyone else mic. That's like a big thing that always comes up Oh, yeah all the time Of course, I really had no way to know how to solve it But I think Dan has done some some work in that direction, but it's just hard We're just it might just be impossible probably we're still not a hundred percent there They were using the lecture sonics for a while which are like four grand Or some ridiculous amount of money and we were still having issues There's like some weird interference stuff like a high-pitched wine that you would hear occasionally We've now moved back to some of the sonys that we use for LTT's and on our main cameras And I think we just like take the wireless packs and then plug them in here And they seem to be a little bit more stable, but it's still not a hundred percent. It's really very weird I don't know why I get all the problems Uh, you inherited it from me who was I probably inherited it from jade. Yeah, exactly exactly Another issue is that we have the ac units Like here for the editors and there's a really loud constant background like rumble that is probably like negative 40 db or something like that So it's really difficult to get away, especially as they're standing over there underneath it Uh, the problem is if you turn off the ac for the three or four hours we do a stream All the editors melt so So yeah, it looks like for sti input. We're using a declink 8k pro Which is absolutely overkill and not necessary, but I guess it's just something we had so that'll do for all we had Yeah, four sti inputs, and I think it also does an output as well Here we got our black magic 8k and we've got some sort of elgato thing And then another avar media Card as well So I think this one we had we had to switch out some of the capture cards Because we found that when we were trying to capture certain types of gameplay you kind of end up with that HDMI like copyright protection Um, oh hdcp. Yeah, hdcp. I think that's what it's called. Yeah, I think it is literally just hdcp And uh, I think those cards usually between those two we can get something to work If we have to grab a video stream from a computer or something It's also nice. It's pretty finicky, which is kind of annoying, but this system seems to work so far audio again Yeah, we're just using the um the focus right. I think this is a scarlet 18 i20 gen one or gen two something like that This is probably a little bit overkill, but you know, we had one in stock. So I just kind of ghb taped it to the card here, um What I'll do for my producer mic is I'll use one of the Dynamite stick Inline preamps and then just grab an re20 and just talk into that because it's a little bit easier So this is very very similar to what we do on the WAN Show set where we've got like our Linus mic and our guest mic And our producer mic so I can toggle the producer mic on and off here And then that as one audio feed gets put into v mix So we don't have to do any balancing or mixing or mastering inside v mix. We normally do three cameras here I have an andy cam We have got our overhead and then we also do like a What I call a b cam or a wide cam or basically a safety cam So if andy's gonna come in really tight, I can pop off of him and get down into Whatever work we're doing without making everybody sick So the only thing that I might have to mention about the the pc at this time Is that the ups for a while way anytime you would plug unplug it or try and move the pc It would just start to um like make noises like right away like within a minute It would just start screaming and so every time you're like I gotta move the cart for something It would just start screaming in the middle of shooting and they're like, you know, keep it quiet on set You're like I can't I literally don't know how I think I turned the the ringer off on this Yeah, we did but this is a new one I changed this one out. Maybe the old one didn't have that capability The old one had some sort of like issue where we were just running too much stuff off of it And I think it was really old at the time. It was it was seen better days And for some reason we couldn't turn it off because I think we had to change it at some point because it just wouldn't stop And that was you know, probably batteries are dead. Yeah, for sure Today we're going to talk about the bay roll pc, which is actually really the b-roll pc I don't remember why I started calling it the bay roll pc. I thought that was kind of cute I guess I made a little handle for the top because I wanted a computer that was easy to move around This is actually like the test handle we printed a better one But it says bay roll pc on the top there in comic sans So there's support material in there that never got removed because of course this was a test and now it's permanent This is done in carbon fiber reinforced PETG though, so it's really not going anywhere and I screwed it into the case So that's fine. I got asked to build this because yeah We need a really powerful computer that we could move around to the different sets really easily And I mean they're not They're not light. So having a handle was great too. I can't remember what case this is But it was really tight to kind of swoosh everything in there I don't even know if i'm going to be able to get the sides back up I don't know but we'll try it's supposed to have a 40 90 in it or isn't the most powerful card that we could find um and that of course means we have to have a big CPU and it was getting a little hot so I just uh Attached a fan to the side of it whatever we can Have do I think it was like 90c at idle which is great. You're not supposed to do that with a pc of this power level You can you can kind of figure out why It's a little tight there, but I cannot remember any of the specs on this. What is this guy? That's right I think this is still a 30 90. Yeah 24 gig. I mean, it's got a 12 pin plug whatever. I don't care It's got a big chunky, you know GPU in there. Um, and then I think this CPU is some super powerful Intel i9 Uh, that is absolutely not something that you should put in a case like this with the teeny little like half an inch thick Radiator with no airflow at all So that's kind of what the side fan is for not a daily computer. I'll put it that way Looks like most of these cables are coming out actually This was an absolute nightmare to build you can see the density of the cables in here is far too high You know, that's kind of what we needed to to make it work. Unfortunately You're you're never going to be able to change anything in here. Unfortunately, which sucks, but whatever. Yeah, this is a future den problem I mean the handle is screwed into the top here and the top is also screwed in so I mean if it drops then we'll just build another one, won't we? Oh, it's a slide one Isn't it? I don't know. Yeah, okay. I probably should have drilled out the case But I don't know it was kind of like here's your computer test it out to see if it works. Okay, ha ha and then um, I never touched it ever again. But yeah, it's it's a it's a pretty nice little Package. I really liked building in this case. It wasn't as bad as I thought This was one of the only cases that we had in the entire building that could fit a full-sized um ultra chunky GPU and yeah, this one was uh, designed to be for a 4090 because it was supposed to run all the super powerful games and things like that But that ended up obviously not Being an issue. I guess now we're talking about the WAN Show computer We did cover a little bit of this in the full WAN breakdown Which is also a flow plane exclusive if you want to watch that But I'm not sure we talked in depth about the actual specs of the computer I've moved it over to a silent case and something with a little bit of air flow and a little bit more accessibility I mean, even though it has a Like side panel on it. It's still a be quiet! case which makes life a little bit easier I used to run an a4000 because of the extra vram, but I realized that denis was sending me like uncompressed 4k 60 frames a second with transparency mov files and like a 30 second ad spot was around 200 gigs So I fixed that and now we don't really need that much vram because we're kind of running out With 24 gigs. So I've now moved this back over to something a little bit lighter, which is a 3080 ti a little bit more stable on just a little bit more Consumer friendly. This is also a founders edition one which is silent when it's not really under a lot of load Again, you know vmix is 100% GPU based and It doesn't really get too much of a workout, but we do need that nice vram CPU is an i9 1090 x e Not super necessary for what we do, but this one does have I believe it's quad channel memory So a little bit more high-end consumer a little bit more memory to work with a little bit more stability, I think a little bit this one runs eight sticks of 266 and it looks like whatever the hell's wrong with this computer. It's also using lots of standby I don't know why something's not getting released properly and it's very concerning Um, so normally I have to restart the computer beforehand. I haven't been able to figure out what's going on with that I'm sure it's just something we have installed some weird little tool So we have a decklink quad HDMI as well as two decklink mini recorder 4k's the Three c200s that we have are all HDMI out. So that's three and then four and five are going to be the two laptops And then audio from the laptops is sent over HDMI. So that's how we get those in Uh, the cameras do have audio over HDMI, but we don't use that. We've talked about the audio setup previously It's a little bit more involved with the um The compressor over adat into the same sort of interface. This is a gen 3 scarlet 18 i20. That's it That's all the things. Oh, uh, there's also a usb card I think it's I think it's two USB-C's because we have a lot of A lot of usb devices. Uh, what is it? It's five stream decks plus a mouse a keyboard another input for the For the this guy You know, there's a lot of io. I need to cable manage it like eventually I don't look no stop zooming in And finally we're back here at ShortCircuit kind of it's the old ShortCircuit set We call it the apartment set now But we have this beast main gear pc that they sent us and it's got some cool features obviously RGB to all heck extra gamer points But the front also can come off and be replaced with new images So if you don't want to do ShortCircuit anymore because I don't know lct is stolen the set You can take it off and then plug in one of these alternate fronts whether it's Only fans Linus luke nukem or of course the classic Linus face and all you do is just I kind of saved it. I saved it a little bit. But then you plug it in with magnets Bam it lights up, but inside this puppy That's where the gaming happens. What we got here is an i9 3900k an ASUS rog maxima z790 hero motherboard DDR5 RAM a 4090 reference fe card whatever they call them and one terabyte of s SSD storage NVMe NVMe SSD storage That's right. That's the gamer storage It's in there And then for a power supply we have an evga 1000 watt P6 and then you see the timer on the motherboard. There's that clock. You're right close with that. Oh, yeah Wait, is actually foreign. Yeah, so that actually tracks your kills in real time As you get kills that will take up and as you get like as you get killed they'll take down It's like a kill death ratio This is a replacement for the hacksmith pc the one that had the like giant cityscape and all the neon lights and signs It was a very cool pc But very very big and that pc was a replacement for the gold pc which was amazing but was like actually gold plated So it was very soft and of course they wanted it back because it was worth a ton of money But I think this is pretty darn sweet I can't wait to get it upgraded with the the new 5090 that we have review coming soon. Make sure to check that out Uh, and oh I put my turn up But uh, yeah, it's a cool pc the reason why the pc is so beefy so that when ploof does like monitor reviews We can actually try to play at you know 4k 240 hertz or whatever that refresh rate is if it was a small pc We never actually be able to fully get our give our impressions on these high-end monitors Thank you so much for watching.
