A little bit.","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":3.56,"end_s":6.68,"text":"Left, not right, right? Oh, sorry, my left, sorry, my left, my left.","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":6.68,"end_s":10.72,"text":"I'm Sebastian, and I work for Creator Warehouse. All right, Sebastian, before we start,","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":10.72,"end_s":13.92,"text":"give me two truths and a lie. I've been to every continent.","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":13.92,"end_s":17.48,"text":"I'm mind blind, and I have over a dozen tattoos.","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":17.48,"end_s":21.0,"text":"Mind blind? Yeah, I can't see anything in my brain. It's just a blank slate.","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":21.0,"end_s":25.72,"text":"I think I know which one it is, but we'll figure out as we go through these questions here.","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":25.72,"end_s":28.88,"text":"All right, so the first question is, what do you do at Creator Warehouse?","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":28.88,"end_s":33.04,"text":"I'm one of the product designers. I've worked on a few of the projects you probably know,","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":33.04,"end_s":38.44,"text":"Precision Screwdriver, ScribeDriver, and FidgetSpinner. I feel like that's a project that you just kind of think of,","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":38.44,"end_s":42.0,"text":"but you never actually do it, but at this company, it's like...","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":42.0,"end_s":45.2,"text":"Surprisingly, that's the project that took the longest to work on.","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":45.2,"end_s":48.76,"text":"Really? Out of all of those. How long did each take, roughly?","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":48.76,"end_s":53.56,"text":"Precision, I started as soon as I started. It was in the first week I was assigned it,","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":53.56,"end_s":56.56,"text":"and it came out about a year after,","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":56.56,"end_s":62.32,"text":"a year and a half. Ten was pretty quick, from idea to being released was under a year.","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":62.32,"end_s":68.12,"text":"It was dropped and picked up a bunch of times. So I worked on it a bit, Justin worked on it a bit.","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":68.12,"end_s":71.16,"text":"Rob actually had some really good ideas with it, and then it came back to me.","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":71.16,"end_s":76.28,"text":"So it was actually probably like two years plus. Oh, okay, that makes sense, yeah.","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":76.28,"end_s":81.68,"text":"Yeah, sometimes the small ones take longer. So then how long have you been at Creator Warehouse for?","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":81.68,"end_s":84.72,"text":"Almost three years now. You started around the same time as me then.","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":84.72,"end_s":89.08,"text":"When did you start? November 2022. So I was end of November.","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":89.08,"end_s":92.76,"text":"Oh, that's crazy. It feels so much longer than that,","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":92.76,"end_s":96.88,"text":"and at the same time, it's only three years. Yeah, no, I think it's everybody.","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":96.88,"end_s":100.2,"text":"It's only been two years, or they're like, wow, it feels longer","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":100.2,"end_s":104.4,"text":"than two years, everything. What kind of hobbies are you into? I like making stuff.","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":104.4,"end_s":107.48,"text":"I like playing video games. Who would've thought? I know, shocking.","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":107.48,"end_s":112.2,"text":"Is there any cool projects that you've done on your own free time? One of the projects actually I worked on","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":112.2,"end_s":115.52,"text":"to get hired here was I built a keyboard from scratch.","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":115.52,"end_s":119.4,"text":"I wanted to learn a little bit of electronics, so I designed the PCB myself,","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":119.4,"end_s":124.84,"text":"and then I also wanted to do some stupid stuff, so I anodized the aluminum top plate myself,","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":124.84,"end_s":128.68,"text":"just on our deck. You say you play games, what kind of games do you play right now?","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":128.68,"end_s":132.68,"text":"I've been playing some RuneScape. RuneScape, oh, the classic? I got hooked last year.","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":132.68,"end_s":136.2,"text":"My one RuneScape story is I got hacked on RuneScape.","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":136.2,"end_s":140.76,"text":"It's because I was like five, or like eight, whatever it was, and then they wanted to trade accounts,","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":140.76,"end_s":145.48,"text":"and I gave my password, and then I lost my count. That's how I learned how to,","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":145.48,"end_s":149.08,"text":"type back in the day. Wait, by what?","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":149.08,"end_s":153.04,"text":"Selling stuff. Really? Yeah, I didn't know how to touch type before,","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":153.04,"end_s":158.12,"text":"and then that's what taught me 20 years ago. What made you interested in your role?","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":158.12,"end_s":161.16,"text":"In my role? When you saw the application for it,","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":161.16,"end_s":164.88,"text":"did you want to work on it because you thought the things you could do is interesting,","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":164.88,"end_s":170.44,"text":"or did you want to work at the company? I think it was a little bit of both, actually.","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":170.44,"end_s":174.44,"text":"I didn't realize that LTT was local to Vancouver.","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":174.48,"end_s":178.32,"text":"I saw one of the videos and realized, oh, that's a beach I recognize.","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":178.32,"end_s":182.76,"text":"So that made it more interesting. The Alex-type videos, the shop videos,","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":182.76,"end_s":189.16,"text":"those were the ones that I was actually interested in watching. And then when there was a job posting for product designer,","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":189.16,"end_s":192.28,"text":"lines up with my background and stuff,","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":192.28,"end_s":195.36,"text":"and I was like, I'll shoot an application.","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":195.36,"end_s":199.4,"text":"Didn't hear for like five months and then got a call. I didn't know it was local either.","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":199.4,"end_s":203.44,"text":"I thought it was LA-based. Yeah, it was completely like, I thought it was somewhere else,","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":203.44,"end_s":208.16,"text":"and then I saw, I think it was like Jericho Beach or something, and I was like, wait a sec, I don't recognize that.","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":208.16,"end_s":211.72,"text":"So how's working at LMG? It's been a lot of fun. There's good things, there's bad things,","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":211.72,"end_s":216.08,"text":"but now the team is amazing.","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":216.08,"end_s":220.2,"text":"It's a lot of fun. I think the last three people kept saying","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":220.2,"end_s":224.96,"text":"that the people make the company so fun. It sounds like a PR answer every time,","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":224.96,"end_s":228.6,"text":"but I think that's just the reality of the company. It's just everyone likes everybody here.","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":228.6,"end_s":231.6,"text":"This is gonna sound bad in some ways,","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":231.6,"end_s":235.92,"text":"but this is the first team where I feel average. Everyone is incredibly talented.","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":235.92,"end_s":239.0,"text":"It's reverse imposter syndrome,","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":239.0,"end_s":243.64,"text":"where you feel like you belong, but everyone is really, really good at what they do,","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":243.64,"end_s":247.32,"text":"and you can learn off of each other, which is really fun, especially in a field","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":247.32,"end_s":250.64,"text":"which for product design, you're always learning from other people","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":250.64,"end_s":256.36,"text":"and different things. So being able to bounce ideas off and actually learn from your peers is awesome.","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":256.36,"end_s":261.04,"text":"What's a weird story you have working at CW? I don't think it's specifically a weird story,","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":261.04,"end_s":264.24,"text":"but I think the weirdest thing switching jobs to LMG","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":264.24,"end_s":269.24,"text":"was going from being the youngest person on the team","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":269.64,"end_s":276.16,"text":"by a significant amount of time, and the youngest within where I was working","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":276.16,"end_s":280.88,"text":"to being on the middle slash upper age of the whole company,","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":280.88,"end_s":284.4,"text":"and just how young the company is,","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":284.4,"end_s":289.4,"text":"and just where my whole team is the same age.","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":289.44,"end_s":293.04,"text":"There's three of us within six months. Who's the oldest in your group?","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":293.04,"end_s":296.68,"text":"Kyle's the oldest. Kyle's grown up, he's an adult, man.","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":296.68,"end_s":300.76,"text":"He's not even that, he's like three years older. Wait, what? Wait, how old's Kyle?","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":300.76,"end_s":304.08,"text":"I'm mid-thirties, something like that. Mid-late-thirties? How old are you?","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":304.08,"end_s":308.0,"text":"I'm 33. You're 33? Yeah. I think you're late twenties.","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":308.0,"end_s":312.0,"text":"No. What the frick? I don't know. It's the funny thing of like,","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":312.0,"end_s":317.56,"text":"but also like our oldest and youngest on the whole company is like within 15 years.","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":318.0,"end_s":322.48,"text":"There's a few outliers, but still. There's someone at the editing team who's like 21,","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":322.48,"end_s":327.08,"text":"like 23, something like that. Yeah. So it's a, oh my, I didn't know you're 30, oh my God.","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":327.08,"end_s":330.24,"text":"I know. I thought you were 30, you're 20. I know, right?","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":330.24,"end_s":334.32,"text":"Oh my God. But yeah, I think that's, I think the weirdest,","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":334.32,"end_s":339.28,"text":"that was the weirdest transition is going from like, oh yeah, the next oldest on your team is 10 years older","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":339.28,"end_s":344.16,"text":"than your two, everyone's the same age. What's the hardest part about working at LMG?","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":344.16,"end_s":347.72,"text":"Or, I guess I'm saying LMG, because it's CW. It's so weird to distinguish it.","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":347.72,"end_s":352.4,"text":"Cause like, I think the way this company works, we're so intertwined, but we're not intertwined.","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":352.4,"end_s":359.04,"text":"Yeah. Like I definitely, I work for CW, but I just came from a scrum for LTT stuff","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":359.04,"end_s":362.68,"text":"that I might be helping with. So it's everything's linked and different.","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":362.68,"end_s":365.68,"text":"It's just kind of where you go back to. It's your little home within a home.","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":365.68,"end_s":372.4,"text":"Hardest part working at CW. This actually one goes to more of the whole.","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":372.4,"end_s":378.08,"text":"I think the, how public the company is. And I think that's the thing that's the most outside","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":378.08,"end_s":382.28,"text":"of my normal skill set. Even the fact that doing an interview","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":382.28,"end_s":387.8,"text":"for all the Floatplane and stuff like that, or being in a video where your face gets seen","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":387.8,"end_s":394.36,"text":"millions of times. I think that's the most outside of my normal skill set.","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":395.0,"end_s":400.88,"text":"And it also comes with negatives, right? When something happens at the company, the public knows.","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":400.88,"end_s":406.48,"text":"It's not just this little thing that it's just in your world. It's you've got people from everywhere commenting","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":406.48,"end_s":410.28,"text":"or not commenting. So, but it's also in some ways a good way.","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":410.28,"end_s":415.72,"text":"Like I've been able to go to open sauce and stuff like that where you wouldn't get to do that without being public.","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":415.72,"end_s":419.08,"text":"So. What made you interested in like the making,","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":419.08,"end_s":423.48,"text":"product designing, like skill area? Did you like kind of just like fall into it?","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":423.48,"end_s":428.72,"text":"A little bit of both. I kind of fell into it and I kind of, I guess knew.","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":428.72,"end_s":432.32,"text":"I grew up taking stuff apart, figuring out","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":432.36,"end_s":435.56,"text":"my dad's a computer science prof and he'd bring home,","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":435.56,"end_s":440.12,"text":"like at one point he just brought home a printer that was not working anymore and we just took it apart.","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":440.12,"end_s":445.32,"text":"I don't know how old I was at that time, but just kind of taking stuff apart, building stuff","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":445.32,"end_s":450.48,"text":"I've been doing for a long time. I went into university for physics,","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":450.48,"end_s":456.68,"text":"realized I didn't like math anymore, dropped out and went into design.","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":456.68,"end_s":462.52,"text":"So, we've got a bachelor of industrial design. It was kind of fluke, but also kind of made sense","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":462.52,"end_s":466.32,"text":"looking back, so. I feel like everyone's story is like,","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":466.32,"end_s":469.56,"text":"yeah, I took apart stuff to learn, which I didn't know was a thing.","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":469.56,"end_s":472.64,"text":"Yeah. I've never heard of this until I started working here.","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":472.64,"end_s":477.92,"text":"I think it's when you tinker in your bakery and stuff like that, it works.","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":477.92,"end_s":482.76,"text":"Like you get good at taking stuff apart way before you're good at putting it back together","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":482.76,"end_s":486.64,"text":"and having it work. Yeah, I just took apart stuff. I didn't, but I broke it though.","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":486.64,"end_s":490.0,"text":"And it was because I broke it, not because I wanted to figure it out.","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":490.0,"end_s":494.32,"text":"Yeah. All right. What's the coolest project then you got to work on?","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":494.32,"end_s":498.28,"text":"Just being involved in the product design, like the whole set part of it.","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":498.28,"end_s":502.36,"text":"So from like concept to mass production, I think that's the coolest thing.","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":502.36,"end_s":508.76,"text":"So like for precision, I was basically given the idea of we want to make a precision, we want storage in it,","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":508.76,"end_s":512.16,"text":"but nothing else of the project really was fully defined.","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":512.16,"end_s":516.4,"text":"First part of it was basically defining what we wanted to do and then it's going through the process","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":516.4,"end_s":519.64,"text":"of designing the parts of it and then working with suppliers","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":519.64,"end_s":522.88,"text":"and actually like doing all of that. I think that's the coolest part,","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":522.88,"end_s":526.6,"text":"kind of seeing the idea turn into the physical good","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":526.6,"end_s":530.16,"text":"and then getting it out to people. So then the precision should we ever,","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":530.16,"end_s":535.6,"text":"is the coolest project you got to work on? It's hard to kind of distinguish a lot of them","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":535.6,"end_s":538.92,"text":"because all of them kind of they lean on each other.","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":538.92,"end_s":544.76,"text":"Precision's the longest one I've been working on just even with like post release.","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":544.76,"end_s":548.48,"text":"For quick projects, I think the mighty car mods,","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":548.48,"end_s":551.52,"text":"that was probably one of the most fun shoots I've been part of.","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":551.52,"end_s":554.92,"text":"It was just a lot of fun and a lot of different parts moving together.","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":554.92,"end_s":558.88,"text":"What were your jobs prior to LMG then? So directly prior to LMG,","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":558.88,"end_s":562.2,"text":"I was working for the Provincial Health Services. What?","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":562.2,"end_s":565.76,"text":"Yeah, I was making a custom seating for wheelchairs.","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":565.76,"end_s":568.88,"text":"So basically it was orthotics for your full body.","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":568.88,"end_s":573.08,"text":"Wow. Yeah, so I did that for about five years.","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":573.08,"end_s":577.4,"text":"Four of them with the province and one year with a private company.","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":577.4,"end_s":582.48,"text":"Is that a, oh no, so it wasn't a government job then? It was a government job for when I was working with.","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":582.48,"end_s":587.64,"text":"Yeah, you gave away a government job, that's crazy. Yeah, I gave away government to come to LMG.","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":587.64,"end_s":589.68,"text":"I don't know if that was the right choice or not.","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":590.8,"end_s":595.68,"text":"Yeah, I don't know, are government jobs prestigious as well outside of Canada or is it just Canada?","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":595.68,"end_s":599.0,"text":"I don't know. There was a pension and all that stuff.","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":599.0,"end_s":604.6,"text":"The problem was, even though it was custom and in some ways a very fulfilling job,","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0},{"start_s":604.6,"end_s":608.8,"text":"I was working with the children's hospital. Yeah, other Sammy.","speaker":null,"is_sponsor":0}],"full_text":"Oh, you can scoot a little bit to the left, please. A little bit. Left, not right, right? Oh, sorry, my left, sorry, my left, my left. I'm Sebastian, and I work for Creator Warehouse. All right, Sebastian, before we start, give me two truths and a lie. I've been to every continent. I'm mind blind, and I have over a dozen tattoos. Mind blind? Yeah, I can't see anything in my brain. It's just a blank slate. I think I know which one it is, but we'll figure out as we go through these questions here. All right, so the first question is, what do you do at Creator Warehouse? I'm one of the product designers. I've worked on a few of the projects you probably know, Precision Screwdriver, ScribeDriver, and FidgetSpinner. I feel like that's a project that you just kind of think of, but you never actually do it, but at this company, it's like... Surprisingly, that's the project that took the longest to work on. Really? Out of all of those. How long did each take, roughly? Precision, I started as soon as I started. It was in the first week I was assigned it, and it came out about a year after, a year and a half. Ten was pretty quick, from idea to being released was under a year. It was dropped and picked up a bunch of times. So I worked on it a bit, Justin worked on it a bit. Rob actually had some really good ideas with it, and then it came back to me. So it was actually probably like two years plus. Oh, okay, that makes sense, yeah. Yeah, sometimes the small ones take longer. So then how long have you been at Creator Warehouse for? Almost three years now. You started around the same time as me then. When did you start? November 2022. So I was end of November. Oh, that's crazy. It feels so much longer than that, and at the same time, it's only three years. Yeah, no, I think it's everybody. It's only been two years, or they're like, wow, it feels longer than two years, everything. What kind of hobbies are you into? I like making stuff. I like playing video games. Who would've thought? I know, shocking. Is there any cool projects that you've done on your own free time? One of the projects actually I worked on to get hired here was I built a keyboard from scratch. I wanted to learn a little bit of electronics, so I designed the PCB myself, and then I also wanted to do some stupid stuff, so I anodized the aluminum top plate myself, just on our deck. You say you play games, what kind of games do you play right now? I've been playing some RuneScape. RuneScape, oh, the classic? I got hooked last year. My one RuneScape story is I got hacked on RuneScape. It's because I was like five, or like eight, whatever it was, and then they wanted to trade accounts, and I gave my password, and then I lost my count. That's how I learned how to, type back in the day. Wait, by what? Selling stuff. Really? Yeah, I didn't know how to touch type before, and then that's what taught me 20 years ago. What made you interested in your role? In my role? When you saw the application for it, did you want to work on it because you thought the things you could do is interesting, or did you want to work at the company? I think it was a little bit of both, actually. I didn't realize that LTT was local to Vancouver. I saw one of the videos and realized, oh, that's a beach I recognize. So that made it more interesting. The Alex-type videos, the shop videos, those were the ones that I was actually interested in watching. And then when there was a job posting for product designer, lines up with my background and stuff, and I was like, I'll shoot an application. Didn't hear for like five months and then got a call. I didn't know it was local either. I thought it was LA-based. Yeah, it was completely like, I thought it was somewhere else, and then I saw, I think it was like Jericho Beach or something, and I was like, wait a sec, I don't recognize that. So how's working at LMG? It's been a lot of fun. There's good things, there's bad things, but now the team is amazing. It's a lot of fun. I think the last three people kept saying that the people make the company so fun. It sounds like a PR answer every time, but I think that's just the reality of the company. It's just everyone likes everybody here. This is gonna sound bad in some ways, but this is the first team where I feel average. Everyone is incredibly talented. It's reverse imposter syndrome, where you feel like you belong, but everyone is really, really good at what they do, and you can learn off of each other, which is really fun, especially in a field which for product design, you're always learning from other people and different things. So being able to bounce ideas off and actually learn from your peers is awesome. What's a weird story you have working at CW? I don't think it's specifically a weird story, but I think the weirdest thing switching jobs to LMG was going from being the youngest person on the team by a significant amount of time, and the youngest within where I was working to being on the middle slash upper age of the whole company, and just how young the company is, and just where my whole team is the same age. There's three of us within six months. Who's the oldest in your group? Kyle's the oldest. Kyle's grown up, he's an adult, man. He's not even that, he's like three years older. Wait, what? Wait, how old's Kyle? I'm mid-thirties, something like that. Mid-late-thirties? How old are you? I'm 33. You're 33? Yeah. I think you're late twenties. No. What the frick? I don't know. It's the funny thing of like, but also like our oldest and youngest on the whole company is like within 15 years. There's a few outliers, but still. There's someone at the editing team who's like 21, like 23, something like that. Yeah. So it's a, oh my, I didn't know you're 30, oh my God. I know. I thought you were 30, you're 20. I know, right? Oh my God. But yeah, I think that's, I think the weirdest, that was the weirdest transition is going from like, oh yeah, the next oldest on your team is 10 years older than your two, everyone's the same age. What's the hardest part about working at LMG? Or, I guess I'm saying LMG, because it's CW. It's so weird to distinguish it. Cause like, I think the way this company works, we're so intertwined, but we're not intertwined. Yeah. Like I definitely, I work for CW, but I just came from a scrum for LTT stuff that I might be helping with. So it's everything's linked and different. It's just kind of where you go back to. It's your little home within a home. Hardest part working at CW. This actually one goes to more of the whole. I think the, how public the company is. And I think that's the thing that's the most outside of my normal skill set. Even the fact that doing an interview for all the Floatplane and stuff like that, or being in a video where your face gets seen millions of times. I think that's the most outside of my normal skill set. And it also comes with negatives, right? When something happens at the company, the public knows. It's not just this little thing that it's just in your world. It's you've got people from everywhere commenting or not commenting. So, but it's also in some ways a good way. Like I've been able to go to open sauce and stuff like that where you wouldn't get to do that without being public. So. What made you interested in like the making, product designing, like skill area? Did you like kind of just like fall into it? A little bit of both. I kind of fell into it and I kind of, I guess knew. I grew up taking stuff apart, figuring out my dad's a computer science prof and he'd bring home, like at one point he just brought home a printer that was not working anymore and we just took it apart. I don't know how old I was at that time, but just kind of taking stuff apart, building stuff I've been doing for a long time. I went into university for physics, realized I didn't like math anymore, dropped out and went into design. So, we've got a bachelor of industrial design. It was kind of fluke, but also kind of made sense looking back, so. I feel like everyone's story is like, yeah, I took apart stuff to learn, which I didn't know was a thing. Yeah. I've never heard of this until I started working here. I think it's when you tinker in your bakery and stuff like that, it works. Like you get good at taking stuff apart way before you're good at putting it back together and having it work. Yeah, I just took apart stuff. I didn't, but I broke it though. And it was because I broke it, not because I wanted to figure it out. Yeah. All right. What's the coolest project then you got to work on? Just being involved in the product design, like the whole set part of it. So from like concept to mass production, I think that's the coolest thing. So like for precision, I was basically given the idea of we want to make a precision, we want storage in it, but nothing else of the project really was fully defined. First part of it was basically defining what we wanted to do and then it's going through the process of designing the parts of it and then working with suppliers and actually like doing all of that. I think that's the coolest part, kind of seeing the idea turn into the physical good and then getting it out to people. So then the precision should we ever, is the coolest project you got to work on? It's hard to kind of distinguish a lot of them because all of them kind of they lean on each other. Precision's the longest one I've been working on just even with like post release. For quick projects, I think the mighty car mods, that was probably one of the most fun shoots I've been part of. It was just a lot of fun and a lot of different parts moving together. What were your jobs prior to LMG then? So directly prior to LMG, I was working for the Provincial Health Services. What? Yeah, I was making a custom seating for wheelchairs. So basically it was orthotics for your full body. Wow. Yeah, so I did that for about five years. Four of them with the province and one year with a private company. Is that a, oh no, so it wasn't a government job then? It was a government job for when I was working with. Yeah, you gave away a government job, that's crazy. Yeah, I gave away government to come to LMG. I don't know if that was the right choice or not. Yeah, I don't know, are government jobs prestigious as well outside of Canada or is it just Canada? I don't know. There was a pension and all that stuff. The problem was, even though it was custom and in some ways a very fulfilling job, I was working with the children's hospital. It got to the point where it was just the same thing over and over. Yeah. All right, you're still, you're making a custom seat. It is slightly different for every single one of them, but you're still doing the same thing every time. It didn't have the same brain itch that you have here. Sorry, do you mind a little bit to the left? A little bit. Oh, my left, sorry. Your left. Sorry. Oh, I love it to the right. Oh, you're so, to my left, right. Fuck it. I have a secret question for you. Okay. It wasn't on this list that I gave you. Yeah. What would you say is your least favorite product that you worked on then? Ooh. Cause everyone has their favorite, but no one talks about the least favorite. This is a hard one because I don't want to unhype stuff. Well, it can be, it can be like a reason why I like, oh, like I think I've done this way better or like I didn't know at this time and like it was a big mistake that I kind of hate or it has to be like a reason just sucks. Like it still gave me a good product or something that you just personally don't like about it. I think one product that I would redo how it happened is the BitCase, which is coming soon. It might be out by the time this video comes out. Maybe, but that one has, that has been one that has dragged along bounce between people and. So what would you redo about it? I think if it just would be one of those things that when you've learned all the stuff you've been doing other stuff, you would do it differently. I will say there is some exciting things for precision probably in the next couple of months that we will be doing some deep dive kind of in the behind the scenes where we're going to have a revision of it coming out. Wow. Yeah, and we'll actually be talking about some of the design decisions and why they happened, which I think will be fun for FloatPlan and for the rest of people too. Kind of stuff where you could very easily just do it as a ninja change and nobody would ever notice. It would still be a better product. Like we're not making stuff worse. We're making it better, but it's not noticeable. So I think that it's going to be pretty cool to talk about that. Does that include the big case? No, that's just the precision. Jump subject. Okay. Well, you think that could have gone better? I think it would be out by now. It would be one of the things. I think there was, we've done a lot of process changes over the years and I think it was one that kind of fell through the cracks a bit. So it kind of got caught in limbo for a while and stuff like that, but yeah. All right, guys. I think that's the most I can get out of Sebastian. I have to keep some secrets. All right, so going back to your two truths and a lie, do you want to say what they were again? And then I'm going to take a guess at it and then you'll tell us which one is the lie. I've been to every continent. I am mind blind and I have over a dozen tattoos. See, I meet looking at your arms when you said that. You don't have any tattoos on your arms.
