And now for $6.99, what do you get? Well, you get the Pixio PX277 OLED Max V2. It's got two names. There's one on the website and one on the box. Um, and you get a, you know, 27 in 1440p OLED monitor. Let's take a look here. It's flat, not curved. Otherwise, this box would be way bigger. Yeah. What have we got in the box? We got our power brick, external power brick. We've got the rest of our C13 power adapter. We've also got DisplayPort 1.4 and 8K certified braided ultra high-speed HDMI cable. That means it's HDMI 2.1. Bottom part of our stand. This is nice and low profile, pretty flat, square with a, you know, it's only one screw and they're really small columns, but double column design and actually really wide apart, too. So, this thing's probably pretty stable. We've got the rest of our stand. Feels pretty light, but look at that. Easy. Very nice. We have a thin panel with a big control box on the back, which is pretty typical for OLEDs. Looks like it's got a pretty simple, you know, insert, click, clack, pull it. There's a little uh locking mechanism back here that you've actually got to push over and then let it come back into place. I don't know how necessary that is. It, you know, I've never had a monitor fall apart on me, and I've always, you know, just click clack, pull them out of the box, and it's fine. So, it's a choice. I don't know how necessary it is, but here we go. Oh, that's kind of heavy. That's heavier than I was expecting. actually really satisfying peel. I don't think it looked very good, but it was very satisfying to do. One thing I totally missed was this thank you card. They've got a little thank you for choosing Pixio included items, installation guide. As for like design and ergonomics and whatnot, the stand can go actually quite a bit of height adjustment. I love it when they can go basically right to the desk. Kind of pisses me off when it's like more like up here. It's not much of a difference, but sometimes you need all of that clearance. Um, but it can also should be able to pivot. Very nice. So, you can go vertical if you want to. You know, 1440p. Maybe in a few years you do want this as your like side portrait monitor. It's good [music] right now, but will it be good forever? Probably not. It can go both ways. And then on top of that, we've also got a good amount of angle adjustment here, too. Yeah, this is actually pretty solid. And then a lot of rotation, too. So, okay. Look, we'll get to performance results a little later, but I got to say, so far, at least in terms of just like stand and customizability, uh, for ergonomic positioning and stuff, I like it. Um, and then on the back, one interesting choice that they've made as well is, uh, the control box has this like giant feels like aluminum. um extra sheet on the back. I don't know if that's cooling or anything, but it does like overshoot past the control box. So, this actually seems bigger than it is. There's like a whole extra It's like a/4 in or a/ inch or something all the way around this thing. [music] Um I don't know why they did that, but you know, it's got the Pixio logo. They got these cool accent lines here. Um in terms of just design, like, yeah, it's totally fine. But enough about that. Let's talk about the IO. All right. Down here at the IO, we've got our good oldfashioned Kensington lock, couple of HDMI 2.1 ports, [music] one DP 1.4, USBC with 65 ws of charging and DP alt mode, USBB, couple of USBA ports, [music] and then our power plug, and I almost forgot, it's got a headphone jack. And for all of you out there who cherish a KVM built into your monitor, it's got it. Overall, it's not a terrible package. I just kind of wish the price was like more along the lines of what I originally saw a few months ago. Uh but let's check it out. Let's game on this thing. But not before a word from our sponsor, XSplit. Whether you're into streaming or making online content, check out XSplit. They offer a whole suite of streaming and video production tools for gamers and businesses alike. It works with YouTube, Twitch, Facebook, and more. They make it easy to create your own layouts using a drag and drop interface, so you can add personality to your stream with things like videos and gifts. And yes, it's pronounced GIF. Plus, they have premium options available, too, like multiplatform streaming, watermark removal, and unlimited scenes. Go to LMG.gg/xsplitc, or use our link in the description to get 30% off your first purchase or subscription with the code SC30. So, I'm carrying it like this, and my finger, as I went to spin the monitor around to put it down, I almost hit the lock there. That could have been disastrous. Luckily, I didn't do that. Yeah, you know, they claim a bit of a bezelless design on the website. It's somewhat minimal, but it's I wouldn't I don't know if I'd go so far as to call this bezelless. I'm guessing they're talking about the like case bezel that's pretty thin admittedly, but then like the rest of the panel, there's a good, you know, couple cm, one cm maybe. No one cares about bezels. Nobody except for me cuz they drive me crazy. Yeah, I got to say I really do like how much you can adjust the stand actually. like it's not like it's way more than other brands. Um, but it is a good amount. And some definitely don't have this level of height adjustment. So, they've definitely done something right. But let's see if it'll do the 240 Hz that it claims, which it I mean it should. I don't expect them to live on that one. HDR on. Let's take a quick look through the OSD. They're just using a navigation nubb in which is like Where is it? It's right here. So, I guess if you're using your right hand, that's not too bad. I'm just used to them being like right on the bottom along here, but it's up on the control box, and that's fine. Pixio, what do they got here? 2560 x440, 240 Hz, freeync premium, HDR, auto, enhanced HDR, and off. We'll go with enhanced HDR. Freeync off, sure, that's fine. Low input lag. Oh, let's turn low input lag to on. If you do buy this thing, whether the black one or the white one, I'll talk about that later. um you definitely want to turn that feature on. We measured significantly reduced latency like 04 milliseconds over theoretical perfect within enabled. And so I would highly recommend turning that on if you get one. We've also got some, you know, typical gamey stuff like you'd put a crosshair on there, FPS counter. I don't know how much I trust the FPS counter, but that's okay. KVM stuff, huh? Auto USB up type-C and then screen care. For OLED protection, they've got a few options with screen care and screen deep [music] care. Um, you can set it to, you know, every few hours. Tell it to execute now or just set it to automatic. Um, also includes a screen saver, which is actually kind of nice. Uh, it does come with a three-year warranty, which has gotten more and more common with OLEDs these days, and I love to see it. [music] I would love a longer warranty, but, you know, 3 years, pretty solid. And then what else [music] we got? Just an input selector system setup. We got RGB breathing. Where's the RGB on this thing? Where are you RGB? Oh, it's on the sides. Okay, sure. I'd kind of prefer it on the back, but you know, to each [music] your own. All right, everything's set up. Good to go. We're going to take a look at some HDR content in a second. We've got HDR enabled, and it says, at least according to Windows, that we're going to get a,000 nits. We actually did measure brighter than that. We hit over 1300 nits. So, it's [music] going to get really bright in HDR. I'll tell you that much. At least in the peaks. At least in the peaks. YouTube. >> This has speakers. >> What the I wasn't expecting that. Was that listed anywhere, Stephen? I didn't see it. Am I blind? All right, whatever. They got got a pretty good genuine reaction out of me. I am a huge sucker for [music] speakers and a monitor. I've said it before and I'll say it again. You don't need them most of the time. Headphones are better. Proper speakers are better. But in a pinch, you guys, let's say you've got to move to some weird location for a little while. Boom. You've got speakers. Oh, love a good speaker on my monitor. Let's see how good they are. [music] We'll go to Crab Rave first. I wasn't expecting this. I thought we'd go straight into watching footage, but Crab Rave it is. It's just a couple of five watt speakers, but they do the trick. They get the job done. I love to see it. Pixio, you know, it's really too bad that the HDR color accuracy, we'll talk about later, is not very good because I actually really like everything else about this monitor so far. It looks okay, but it Oh, wow. Oh, yeah. I definitely see how dark it looks. The highlights are great. Like that light going through the post was actually really fantastic. Um, but a lot of the rest of the image just looks a little too dark. When we measured HDR out of the box, we were getting about 55 average DEITP, which is I mean, if you've seen any of our other videos, you know that's not very good. [music] Setting it to enhanced did improve things, but we're still talking about like 39, which I mean, compared to other displays, we're hoping for about 20. You know, maybe 30 is even 30 wouldn't be great. [music] Um, so if you're looking to do really color accurate work, at least in HDR, maybe don't [music] get this thing. Surprisingly enough, SDR was really solid. We got a delta average of about one and a max of about two, which is great for color work, but I got to say, aside from the image like looking a little too dark overall, like it still looks good. Um, the thing is about OLEDs is like, God, they're incredible. I don't know. Once you go with them, you just [music] can't go back. Not only do you get self-emissive pixels, but they change so fast that the motion clarity on OLED, whether doesn't matter whether it's W OLED, QD OLED, new tandem OLEDs, new [music] whatever, micro OLED, or RGB, what any, it doesn't matter. OLED is so quick, but the motion clarity is just phenomenal. So, let's game on it. Oh, yeah. Like, look at this whip. It's crystal clear motion clarity. I'm telling you, like maybe [snorts] that new G-Sync Pulsar stuff is really going to make a big uh difference for IPS displays, but I don't know. At this point, OLED is just getting cheaper and cheaper every year. The HDR does look pretty solid. It's just a little darker than I would expect. Oh I'm gettinged up. I haven't played Doom: The Dark Ages at all yet. I'm gonna get wrecked so bad. I don't know how to do anything. Ah, the [snorts] monitor is still performing admirably. Like this is fantastic motion clarity. Um, the color looks vibrant. The whole thing like is pretty solid overall. So, why am I so upset and I'm not willing to recommend this monitor? Even just a few months ago when I thought it was 599, it seemed appealing. However, now that we're seeing all of these new monitors at CES, and honestly, even before that, like there were so many sales on like even that Gigabyte Tandem OLED monitor was like $500 or $600 or something. It's hard for me to recommend what is essentially becoming old OLED tech for a high price tag when you know I mean I hate to say yet again Alienware but like you can go buy like a brand new Alienware monitor for like $550 $600 for very similar specs maybe even better maybe even 360 Hz and so it's just yeah it's really too bad I really just unfortunately cannot recommend uh the Pixie IO Max OLED V2. If you are interested in picking one up, um there's a white version available now that comes with a few accessories if you're one of the first 100 people to order it. So, that's cool. If you do want to pick this up, we're going to have it linked in the description below. And if you don't and you're willing to wait, check out all of our CES coverage because they're looking at a ton of super cool brand new gaming monitors down there. I'm PLO. This is the Pixio Luma OLED Aura Gen 2. And it's a monitor. It's a display."}
