This is the game plug-and-play gun for modern displays. Nailed it. This device allows us to relive the golden era of arcade and home games where you pointed a thing at a screen and you shot things. I'm genuinely super excited about this because I've been eyeing modern uh light gun devices, but they're really expensive and because it's such a niche thing, even you know, the ones that can do everything, I'm like, it's not really worth it. But this is wonderful. It is a very attractive price, which we will get to later. If you don't know, uh, older light guns don't work on modern displays because they were designed to work with CRT displays or they're just motion devices that are pretending like they're a light gun, but it's not quite the same. This bypasses all of that and makes it really easy. Just plug and play. You get going. You got a gun in your hand and boom, you're playing freaking Time Crisis like it's 1997, baby. I don't know when Time Crisis is from. Is it from 97? Doesn't matter. I got a gun. I'm genuinely excited. This is uh a little bit different than what we normally do on ShortCircuit. This is not necessarily a field I have a ton of expertise in. I don't Do you think there's light gun experts out there? There's got to be light gun experts. We got our hands on the ultimate pack, which comes with two guns, our little game console for games, one pedal, which is a bit of a bummer because that means only one player gets to actually get the full experience and the other's going to have to use buttons for that. But you also get a cool little enabl pin. I actually am taking this. I don't care what you say. Uh AC adapters. It's a variable power supply. That's surprising. I would have thought that would have been very broken. >> No. Oh, the choose a dent. Not that bad. The USB is about 20 watts. So, that gives you an idea of the power of this console because that's sort of one of the defining features of this ecosystem is you can only play the games that are on this little console, which is currently four games from before the time of uh nice graphics. I mean, they're very charming graphics. It's a little bit disappointing that I can't just plug these into a bunch of different game consoles and PCs and have it work. But it is understandable. What is not understandable, unless I specifically show you, is whatever the heck else is in this box. Yo, little acrylic gun with a vinyl sticker on the back. That's fun. In Japan, the guns are actually this color, but because of gun laws in other countries, we get these blue ones, which is fine. I'm used to this as like the arcade color, so it doesn't really bother me. Although, it would be nice if these were two different colors. like have this one orange, one blue. There's just a bunch of this acrylic stuff. Hey, wo, it's a diarama. That is just genuinely cool. And I am taking this home to put in my garage. I'm genuinely stoked. Outside of that, inside the box, we have a USBC, an HDMI, and then this quick start guide. That is kind of cool. It makes me nostalgic for the era when we actually had instruction manuals in our games. Ooh, this is pretty cool. Here's a little QR code you can use to get the files to 3D print holsters for this. That's a really cool little touch. Instead of selling them as accessories for the kit, you can just make them at home. That's That's great. Next, we have our quick start guide. I will keep this around cuz I have a feeling calibrating these guns might not be as intuitive as I think. We've unboxed everything, but we haven't talked about the main uh pieces of meat. We got our pedal, which is a plastic construction, which is a little worrisome. I live through the Rock Band 2 era where uh the plastic pedals were breaking all the time and Harmonics would have to send you a new metal pedal. Uh this feels more solid than those original ones, less solid than the metal ones. There's a little bit of kind of sway side to side, but unless you're stomping on this really hard, I think this has a fair bit of life to it. The gun itself, the shape is wonderful. This feels very familiar, very nostalgic for the arcade light gun games. No complaints about that. There's no mechanism for this big piece of plastic to go do the recoil. So, I'm guessing it's just a little motor on the inside, which leads me to believe this is not going to be the most exciting recoil. On both sides, we have two buttons. Those feel fine. On the top, we have an orange piece of plastic. I'm not sure what goes there. And then a switch to turn our recoil on and off. On the front, >> stop. >> It's not a real gun. On the on the front, we have our camera, which is uh the main piece of technology and why this works. and also why you are not going to be turning off the lights in your room while you game. I like to have my room dark when I game, but this is such a physical experience. It doesn't bother me the same. I'm not as immersed into these kinds of light gun games, especially these early ones that I'll be playing. One really nice thing is that the guns and pedals seem to have a very long cable. It says 4 m for the guns, and that's great because that means you can have the console right by your TV, and you can kind of get some distance. You could presumably use a screen up to 150 inches, like a projector screen. That would be that would be something. They also recommend to not have any other screens around because it might confuse their systems. Uh their screen detections, there might just be all kinds of interference. Uh so that's definitely something to consider. If you're someone that has like five screens that you're planning to play around, you'll either have to turn them off or move them or uh take a risk just like I'm risking telling you about a sponsor. Like those textures are very ' 90s, but the resolution is actually quite high. It's sick as hell. And now they design games like this. So, I'm a big fan of Time Crisis 4. Me and my friend from high school, we used to play that at the movie theater every time we would go to go to it. Use any money we had, but I don't know if I've ever played the first one. The game might be old. The hardware might be a little bit cheap, but boy golly, am I having a good time. Boy golly, it's just not the kind of experience you really get to have much anymore cuz arcades are gone. Movie theaters barely even have arcade machines. Yo, no, no, no, no. Get out of here.
